Iris Doux

What an interesting take on iris! I would have never thought that iris as a primary note would work with a tropical vibe of frangipani and ylang. But it does! And a result is a gentle, creamy, beachy concoction, where iris is indeed readily recognizable, but a bit tame. And iris on vacation, I guess. To my nose, this is quite beautiful. And then in a couple of hours as it starts going into drydown it is does become very similar to Iris Ganache's drydown, although not as smooth.

For the iris lovers, a beautiful contrast of the cold facets of iris with warm tropical florals, mainly a very natural ylang, with fruity banana like aspects. The iris is the center piece from beginning to end, like a soft cloud surrounding you, the cold iris aspect reminds me of the infamous iris silver mist but only slightly, contrary to that fragrance which to me feels cold and melancholic, Iris Doux is like that ray of sunlight after a summer rainy day

This is the best Iris I have ever encountered, and my dream of the perfect powdery iris come true. It is very cleverly composed around two different iris materials, the one reinforcing the other, and rounded out with the softness of mimosa and creaminess of ylang-ylang. Enveloped in a cloud of Iris Doux I feel happy, and it stays with me the whole day. Bought a travel sized bottle, pretty sure I'll have to order a full bottle soon.

I was gifted a sample of this by a friend and i don’t really love iris fragrances. This blew me away. It’s a clean and ethereal iris, not lipstick like. It’s an iris skin scent that’s cold and keeps you coming back for more whiffs. It smells like old money, clean girl esthetic and smells like you have your shizzz together. Completely unisex but just screams refinement and good hygiene. I need a bottle.

My first thought was a herbal or botanical iris turning floral reminding me of Iris Perle by Les Indemodables- I like this one better on first impression. Though my preference is with the chewy slightly more leathery and dense irises, this is really nice in its genre. It creates a particularly beautiful sillage around you, and I think would be amazing in warm weather. Very well done natural perfumery.

I do love iris and have a few in my collection. This is the best. A beautiful, creamy, iris that is very versatile and wearable. Absolutely unisex. A truly wonderful fragrance. If you enjoy iris, give this a try.

Earthy iris. Not lipsticky, but botanical, blooming, and woods with supporting florals. If Dior ever came up with an elixir for the Dior Homme line, this would fit right in, minus the cacao.

This is a beautiful and rich iris that almost feels a bit almondy to my nose ( not saying it is gourmand, far from that ). Powdery but not overdoing it. Soft, alluring, very wearable.

I read somewhere, that the trick of making a successful iris (perfume) is to cheer its funereal feel by adding a happy note. Done. A doze of yellow flowers and jasmine added. Doesn't it overpower the iris? Yes, it does, so lets amp up its powdery facet by mimosa and earthy and spicy facet by geranium so we don't forget it's there... This is a nicely done one. More happy than sweet, more sunny floral than iris...but it will brighten up your gloomy day in a decent way. For a moment only, unfortunately.

It's an ok Iris I guess. Nothing crazy. Nicely done. I get a really big almond/marzipan note.

I bought this from a seller on Mercari. BUT on 2/28/26 I ordered the special edition iris off the House of Puente website which was never shipped. Order #2502. They took my payment of $315 USD and never provided proof of shipping. I received a few email responses to my inquiries saying yes, we’re working on getting your order shipped. The last response from Puente was on 3/23/26 from Paul who introduced himself as being on their newly implemented customer service team, again promising they’re working on it. I sent several more emails asking for status update with no response. Actually now my emails are being sent back as undeliverable. I’ve just been on their website and everything is sold out. I’m afraid they’ve shut up shop and absconded with my $$$. I have filed a claim with PayPal and hope to be reimbursed. Shame this has happened to others.

The iris here is supported by lively florals. Imagine smelling a bouquet of yellow, white flowers with iris amongst them. I would say this is more of a floral-forward scent than an iris-forward one. And this burst of florals lasts less than an hour on my skin, and turns into a subdued, warm skin scent that hints at suede, soft musk (maybe thats the lipsticky note everyone seems to pick up on). Its masterfully blended as always from this house, but I feel this one is more of a private scent, something that you put on while working quietly in one corner, or reading a book before bed. If you are looking for a more iris-centric scent, then you might be better off exploring Naomi Goodsir Iris Cedre.

Haven't smelled this but want to say hi to bigmisscabbage below! was just listening to Persolaise autumn 2023 recommendations and agree with your comment about loving a listicle:) also have ordered the discovery set for this brand (20% off through Dec) and have high hopes! Edit: This is just ok. It's quite persistent and linear. It does not smell like natural perfumery as I normally think of it (Hiram green, April Aromatics, Providence). It smells quite synthetic to me. The above review that mentions new car smell is kind of my impression as well. My husband also was not a fan.

Yellow flowers, green notes, marigold? Something like a yellow plastic toy I had once. Honeysuckle? It reminds me of scented yellow plastic flowers from the 70s. Not bad, but not sure what I’m smelling here. Ah! Checking the notes, it appears to be mimosa super sweetened by the frangipani, and the ylang- –never my best friend--imparting a plastic-y feel. Overall it’s actually not bad at all, but it’s not my thing.

What a bright yellow iris! Definitely get yellow flowers: mimosa and ylang but also a hefty dose of orris! Very quick and fleeting green note on the opening. Interesting iris, unlike any others I’ve tried. Successful blind buy! Still waiting for House of Puente to ship the special edition I bought in February!! It will be interesting to compare the two.

I prefer a warmer buttery iris, this is more of a cooler, melancholy floral iris. Overall it is pleasant, but it's definitely not the holy grail iris many tout it to be. Also, I received an odd compliment while wearing it - I was told that I smelled like the inside of a new car.

I get a big, beautiful mélange of heady tropical florals over creamy sandalwood. To my nose ylang, Jasmin and frangipani are stealing the show no iris for me .
