I think placing the fruity note at the top of this description is false advertising. Yes, it's there. I can definitely smell the pear, but I would never call this a fruity fragrance. It's unique. Whoever was the nose behind this is a genius. I'm sure they were told to make something aquatic and that is exactly what they did. The fruit and floral scents are there, I can even pick them out, but the aquatics are the star in this one. I believe it's the cotton and moss that blend it all into something very fresh and unlike anything I've smelled before. Now, WTF does aquatics mean, right? It's a scent that registers to me as wet or cool. Very hard to describe. The woman who said this is like walking through a rainforest is spot on. It's not sweet, but has some sweetness, not floral, but has some flowers, and its got a sharpness to it that I want to say reminds me of chlorine but in the best possible way. I know, that's gonna make some people cringe, but it's like a metallic scent, very ozone and the bergamot helps with that, sort of gives the sharpness a citrus punch. To be honest, this is my first HOS purchase. I bought this and the Icy Hard Candy one because they were on sale and I loved the bottles. This is not going to be my every day scent. But that being said, I'm very pleased to add this to my collection. In a world of marshmallow and roses (I love both btw) this is a refreshing change. And damn but that bottle is magnificent. Even the box it came in is stunning.

Can’t lie, I purchased this because of the bottle. It is gorgeous! What a piece of art! To open the top is a bit tricky. First off, most HOS covers is a bit hard to come off. Add a beautiful piece on top and it’s definitely challenging - especially bc I have big hands. Once opened, I sprayed it in my wrist. That one spray, my husband immediately said “that smells so good!” and a few minutes later my son said “mmm. Mama, you smell good!” Coming from both of the men in my life - I’ll take it :) Not good with notes so I won’t try but it definitely comes off as unisex. Maybe it pulls a little more on the feminine side but I’ll let it sit for a few weeks & I’ll be back with an update regarding sillage and longevity. Edit: It’s been sitting on my shelf for a little over two months. Soon as I sprayed it, I said ‘mmmm!’. The first initial spray, I didn’t think much of it only bc I always judge my fragrances a few weeks after the first few sprays. Today I smell a pretty, floral tuberose note. Also, someone said it perfectly - “green, crisp, fresh and certainly aquatic.” I love pear fragrances and I definitely smell the pear this time around! Here’s a suggestion to many of you out there - let your bottle sit before for a week or so - the longer the better. All the notes will blend beautiful. Imo, first sprays comes off as unisex. Once you let it sit, it definitely pulls feminine. I’m so happy with this purchase & I can’t wait to wear it this summer 😊

WOW! This did not let me down. Like most of us I blind bought this. I don't have a lot of aquatics in my collection so I thought this would switch things up. From first spray I was in love. It does not smell like some generic bath and body works scent like some people claim. This is unique and beautifully blended. The fruits in this don't smell plastic or synthetic, they smell juicy, and the floral notes mesh with them to perfection. I don't get a strong hit of tuberose or rose because everything is blended so well. I saw another comment that this smells like men deodorant but to my nose that is not the case at all. There is a nice depth to this scent from a clean musk and amberwood. The musk in here is nothing aggressive like Erba Pura. This is uplifting and refreshing. I got the matching perfume amplifiers and while they smell nice, I'm still on the fence if they amplify anything. To me they sit very close to the skin. Heads up, they are not pure oils and have alcohol in them which should help with projection. I"m going to play around with them more. Oh and the crystal work on this bottle is the icing on the cupcake. A work of art inside and out.

I was that wild person that bought this full price because the notes spoke to me, and I’m so happy to say it’s a love. If you love fresh aquatic juicy florals... this is insanely beautiful. I bought it for the notes and could have done without the extra embellishment on top (these sea creature), but my goodness am I in love 🥹. This may turn some people off, but it smells like the world’s fanciest shampoo/hotel - you’re in one of those uncomfortably large rain shower style showers that has color changing up lighting radiating aqua, teal, and a Royal blue. White and yellow flower petals are floating along the bottom of the shower, and a plush fluffy white towel and robe are warming with Bergamot oil on the heated bench at the opposite end of the shower. As the scent evolves, it becomes slightly woody and cozy while still holding on to that marine freshness - it’s one I’ll consider a backup of once it goes on sale 🌊💙🍐🌎🪸🪷

Firstly, I wish I never found this website and I never became impulsive to delve into fragrances. Blind buy 1mL sample and I just pulled the trigger on the full size. I absolutely ADORE this kind of scent. It's green, crisp, fresh, certainly aquatic. I can't stop smelling myself. Off the bat is very fruity, then a lot of rose/moss. Dry down is a smidge muskier/woody, but I use that very lightly as the crisp freshness still bursts through. It remains me of some kind of rainforest with flowers and a waterfall. Absolutely beautiful. Definitely think this is a fairly neutral fragrance and depending on body chemistry can swing either way.

Definitely a summer perfume. If you like very beach-vibe perfumes like pacific rock moss, salty amber by jo Malone or French Riviera Mancera, you will like this. This is those mossy beach vibes with pear/bergamot on top of it. I think I like this the most from this house :) Cant wait for summer so I can drown myself in this perfume. I hope this does not discontinue so I can buy it every summer.

Bottle looks amazing. People, stop putting weird perfumes for the "reminds me of" category. There are people who genuinely want to know how the perfume smells.

First, I must say that Avatar Way Of Water has one of the most stunning presentations of any bottle in my collection. It’s absolutely gorgeous! AVATAR Way Of Water Parfum interprets exactly what I would envision in the passion, elegance & bravada of Neytiri & Ronai - yet I can also envision Jake Sully or Eytukan as well. The opening is sweet, fresh, & acquatic. The florals amp up the sweetness & freshness & is also quite atypical of what I normally smell w/ Tuberose. The Rose adds a bit of softness & powdery elements in the beginning stages of the dry down as well. Upon complete dry down I got an even creamier vibe, but the sweetness dissipates a bit allowing a the base notes to seep in to provide maturity within the fragrance. Here I get a musky, skin like presence that’s resinous, comforting & smooth. I got 4-5 hours w/ strong sillage extending past arms length. Decent scent trail before it becomes a skin scent. If you’re hugging me you’ll smell it for a bit longer because I smelled it in my skin after 9 hours of wear. There is NO sharpness or funky Animalics, nor cat piss smell or saltiness on my skin (which I COMPLETELY appreciated!) Despite the sweet opening, this is a unisex fragrance fragrance that plays into several scent profiles. Floral, aquatic, musky, clean & sweet. The PRESENTATION alone is full bottle worthy... even my Hubby (who is VERY CRITICAL of House of Sillage) wants his own bottle... if that’s any indication how impressive it is! These cupcake bottles 😍🧁😍🧁 I finally got a full bottle of it!!! This bottle, Avatar The Way of Water, is absolutely 💚💙G O R G E O U S 💙💚 to look at and so pretty in person!! As for the scent itself, I like it. I personally find it to smell unisex (on my skin) even though it pulls quite floral. The Tuberose is very present and though I struggle with Tuberose, here, it’s quite alright. Longevity is not that great but then again, 4-5 hours isn’t too bad as I’ve had much worse. To me, it smells very liquid-like/moss-like? The florals are there for the whole time but there’s something in it that seems to “bloom” in hot and humid weather...I mean duh, it’s called the way of water after all.🌊🌊🌊To my nose, the fruity aspect of it is only present for the first 20 minutes, then, it’s gone. I’ll have to wear it more to form a better opinion on this one. It’s definitely a strong like leaning into love. I purchased this one directly from House of Sillage during one of their 50% off sales. Would I pay full retail price for these cupcakes? NEVER!! But for half the price, I couldn’t pass it up😬😬😬 I just cannot get over how pretty these cupcake bottles are 🙄🙄 I am such a simp for pretty/shiny stuff✨✨

I weirdly got a hit of peppermint right at the top. Lasted only a few seconds before the fruity notes created the watery evolution. Honestly purchased this fragrance because I adore the HoS cupcake bottles. I am not a vanilla based frag fan so much of the fragrances (and I have sampled MANY) are not my jam...I was hoping for the best with this one as I do love aquatics - It's alright...wearable when I want an occasional beachy/fruit scent. I adore seeing this bottle center stage on my perfume shelf..Pricey but I have no regrets.

This one had to macerate! When I first tried it a month ago, it was extremely sweet and fruity — I kind of agreed with the person who said it was like an amped up B&BW spray or men’s deodorant. Tentatively tried it a month later, and now I definitely get the moss with soft floral background. It’s still fruity at the start, but nowhere near as overwhelming and saccharine. I’m relieved, as this was a blind buy. Looking forward to using it this summer!

My husband wanted this for the bottle and we bought it. My first fragrance from Sillage. Very nice, if a bit overly sweet initially, but the dry down is lovely. Also I don’t understand the trolls? The people spamming these fragrances with “smells like” and negativities need to be banned.

The fourth sample from my Niche Swap Box was The Way of Water by House of Sillage. The bottle itself is a true luxury piece, absolutely stunning and beautifully designed. The fragrance opens as a green, fruity floral composition. I could immediately detect the presence of pear and ylang-ylang, which give the scent a soft brightness at the beginning. Shortly after, a slightly bitter nuance appears alongside a mossy rose character. There are also aquatic facets and a touch of green mossiness that add freshness Unfortunately, the musk doesn’t work well on my skin. As the fragrance settles, the musky base becomes more noticeable and takes over the scent for me. The fragrance feels quite unisex and could easily lean masculine. Longevity is moderate. With generous sprays, it lasts around 6 hours and projects with noticeable sillage. Despite some interesting elements, the fragrance didn’t truly inspire me, so I would rate it 6 out of 10.

Summer is my favorite season and I'm therefore addicted to aquatics. I knew I would purchase this as soon as I laid eyes on it. I held out as long as I could, but I caved as predicted. I only regret not buying it sooner. This transports me to the Maldives. Imagine an afternoon swimming in some of the clearest water in the world. It's pleasantly warm outside, not hot, and the water on your skin is refreshingly cool. Then, you take a quick shower in your villa that has a wall-to-wall salt water aquarium filled with exotic fish. You decide to sit out and enjoy your ocean view while sipping on a cool glass of overpriced imported water with citrus accents on the rim that quenches the thirst you didn't even realize you've built up. This isn't a vacation. You live here and this is what you do on weekends when you need to recharge. That's what this smells like and I'm in love. I can't speak to sillage or projection because I've only sprayed one spray on my wrist and already gone Gollum over this scent. It's my precious and can't be wasted on my family's opinions. If it lasts over 6 hours, I'll be satisfied because I don't expect 1000 hours from an aquatic. Update: I'm 14 hours in and I can still smell that one spray! WHOA!

I agree with flyingdoc; people look at the “reminds me of” section to get other people’s impressions of fragrances that are based on genuine experiences. It’s pretty obvious when people are just trolling. Please stop. If you do not like a brand or do not like certain releases merely based on your disdain for a given franchise (not based on actual sampling of perfumes), it’s best (and honest) to not review said fragrances at all. It’s frustrating for people who want to use fragrantica for its intended purpose (which is not to be hateful for the sake of being hateful). It’s one thing to provide constructive or diplomatically stated criticism...trolling is not it (especially when the people who are voting haven’t even sniffed the fragrance once). End of rant lol. Disclaimer: I have not tried this perfume. I visited this page because the bottle is beautiful and I was curious to know what the juice smells like...

Same scent family as Kayali Eden Juicy Apple. Doesnt smell exactly alike but very similar, this is like an expensive bath and body works spray that lasts, may not sound appealing for some but if your into that fresh, young,fruity, juicy, out of the shower type scent this could be for you!! I personally love it and I'm super happy to have it. The child in me loves these bottles too. 😂❤️
