The Formal

This is what your scent should be, when you're wearing a black suit and tie, business casual and or at business meetings. This smells so regal and high class, you will feel "underdressed" when you spray this with a hoodie on. Imagine sitting in a brand new Rolls Royce. This is what a brand new Rolls Royce should smell like. The pepper is so good in here! It balances everything that "pops" in this fragrance. This isn't a, in your face fragrance. Over spraying would be okay and this will not offend anyone. Very mass pleasing. Sure it isn't a beast mode fragrance, and honestly I'm okay with that. Sillage isn't the greatest, but the scent trail that it leaves... dress up and you'll get the attention from that chick as you walk by House of Sillage did an incredible job with this one. Very well blended, an amazing composition! Might snag a backup bottle when I see a discount on their website

I like it better than The Classic. This has more depth, a more mysterious nature, and seems more mature. Sure the scent has been done before, but this is executed well and lasts forever. Solid 8.6/10

What? This smells like a basic boring designer. A bit similar to La Nuit De L’Homme, but somewhat fresher. Was expecting a lot more from this one. 6/10

No it does not smell like la nuit de l’homme No it does not have a good sillage No it’s not unique Performance is embarrassing at 4-5 hours max. The house of No sillage It’s your typical mall fragrance freshie smell at $$$

I’m convinced that this brand is paying people, particularly on YouTube, to make very exclusively positive reviews of their fragrances. Every video you watch seems to have the EXACT same format and key points presented in the same way (bottle design, gimmicky cleaning cloth, etc...). HoS is sending them their bottles for free, most disclose in the description. My personal favorite is when they try to claim how utterly unique each one is. Well, it worked. I was hooked at the idea of getting a smaller niche brand with almost exclusively glowing reviews. The brand’s website is doing a 50% sale pretty much across the board, some at 70%. Now I love a good discount, and I’ve bought plenty of fragrances at those sort of savings, but you’ll notice it’s almost NEVER from the brand themselves. It’s through a discounter or retailer running a crazy sale. Brands themselves who do discounts that steep shows brings me concern. How grossly marked up are you products? Did you change the quality? Why are you devaluing your brand when you pride yourself on being a luxury product? Are you about to go out of business? At any rate, I blind bought this and it’s collection brother The Contemporary. I requested samples of other men’s offerings, and they sent me the wrong samples from what was requested. They did encourage that I buy their overpriced sample kits instead when inquired about them sending me the correct ones. Oh well. Customer service emails were friendly, but you couldn’t get them on the phone. ENOUGH BRAND NITPICK! What about the fragrance?! The bottle is neat, and the push button slider cap is pretty cool. However, I’d rather just have a normal lid so my bottle is fully sealed. Always feel weird to be “capless” from that perspective. My wearing is limited. Just sprayed this on about 30 mins ago. It is quite strong smelling and is a lot brighter than I thought it would be after reading all the hype reviews. It’s not an aquatic freshie, but it’s still got a fresh vibe about it in a good way. I immediately had to take a second to realize what this strongly reminds me of. Clive Christian Rock Rose. I am 99% sure this is their take on that fragrance. And don’t get me wrong, that is one of my favorites of all time, but this feels very redundant to own since I already own that. This one just has the slightest hint more spice and more citrusy zest to it. The opening is also a little cloying in comparison. I definitely prefer CC Rock Rose to this one. Rock Rose also smells slightly higher quality, mainly just more smooth. Now, to be fair, at full retail, this is almost half the price for even 0.8 oz more juice. So, at $147.50, this is a pretty decent way to access a fragrance that’s 80% similar for a fraction of the price. So, it’s the more economical choice either discounted or full price. I was kinda wishing I had a second bottle of Rock Rose as a back up, but I guess this will do. Considering I spent around $275 for that bottle, I’m feeling alright about this purchase. Just was hoping I’d get something truly new in my collection. It’s slightly designer-ish, but not fully. This will get compliments. Do I recommend this? I guess. It will match a wide variety of events and outfits. I wouldn’t have pegged this as deserving of a title reserved for formal events. Expecting this one to perform best in mild weather. Feels a little heavy for blazing summer but may be fine in the evening.
