Wednesday

I blind bought this perfume, on sale of course, for the work of art that is the bottle, and I found myself entirely heartbroken because I hated the fragrance. It smelled like a dusty old attic, the rose was harsh and green, the woods musty and the black pepper reminded me of when I over-peppered a delicious cozy soup and completely ruined it. Today, I went to do my laundry and I smelled this intoxicating, dark, syrupy, mysterious, woody rose emanating off of a sweater. I realized that this was Wednesday, after having sat for a while. So I sprayed on Wednesday to wear it for the day, and I am obsessed. I typically do love rose, woody fragrances and gourmands and judging by the notes, I thought I would love it, and that's why I was so stunned with my horrible, harsh, negative initial reaction to it. I am absolutely in love with it today though, the harshness has settled, the dark, syrupy goodness of the rose has poured in and I could not be happier. Definitely would not recommend a blind by unless you absolutely love a woody rose, but whether you sample or you go ahead and buy the bottle, let it sit for two weeks. Or if you can't wait (like me) and you spray it and find it just awful, don't be discouraged. Let it sit, appreciate the beautiful bottle for a while, then after it has rested for a while, try it out again.

Where is the cred for Wednesday?!! I typically am not a rose fan, nor a patchouli fan. IDK how this works, but it does. Seems like the norm with HOS is that their perfumes need to macerate. A few I’ve gotten haven’t been great upon receiving, and a few weeks later it smells like the sample card they sent me, which is why I purchase them. So - let this sit!! Weird description - but when I smell this, the first thing I think about is Wednesday in a dry, woody attic (so basically just like her room in the show lol). Yes, the rose is very prominent, but that woody note makes this so different and unique. I can see myself wearing this all month for Halloween lol... definitely a cold weather scent. HoS really hit the nail on the head with this. This is the epitome of Wednesday! They did equally well with the Harry Potter edition. I am so glad they sent me all these sample cards, because on paper this is nothing I should or would like, but I freaking do. It’s so moody, I love it. Also - as everyone has stated - the bottle is gorgeous.

Finally got my bottle at 50% off retail price because, let’s face it, House of Sillage is notorious for putting their stuff up for sale rather quickly...I just needed a little patience 💚 This was a successful blind buy, quite honestly. I was sure I wasn’t going to like the scent but oh my goodness, what a surprise!! This is a beautiful peppery rose with a hint of patchouli and some woodsy notes in the background...🤍💜🖤 longevity is nice several hours and such a beautiful dark rose/pepper/woods/patchouli combo!!! And the look of that bottle? Stunning 🤩✨✨✨✨✨

I get powdery patchouli with rose and wood at the base. I really like it. I would call this unisex. Surprised iris isn’t listed as an ingredient. It is mysterious, lasts a long time with moderate silage. Bottle is beautiful but I find the cap on these cupcake shaped bottles difficult to remove. I blind bought this. I’m glad I have it but it is a splurge.

Not sure about the notes but that bottle looks stunning 🕸️💜💚🤍✨

This is in my opinion, one of their best looking bottles. And for the fragrance, it's really nothing new or different. Smells nice sure, but similar to every other westernised rose/oud/patchouli fragrance out there. First one that comes to mind for me is Boadicea's Ardent, but this one is way more toned down, as to be more mass pleasing.

Its truly astounding how the unrelenting trolls insist on continually putting up childish comparisons and misleading votes so its difficult for actual fragheads to get legitimate information. If you hate fragrances so much, why are you here?! If you enjoy fragrances like Le Labo Rose 31, Byredo Roses of No Man’s Land, or Gris Dior, you will enjoy this. Its definitely not for everyone. The opening is a green patchouli, as in EBK Alexandrite n Patchouli. Mid and drydown is a more clean rose with black pepper. I don't get any sweet resins really. It’s more of a woody hint. This stage is more like Rose 31, which I find polarizing and not for everyone. This will be the same. I think this one will appeal to the men more. Definitely not blind buy safe, so try first! That bottle though 😍🤩 The pearlescent moonstone is stunning!

I don't know how I feel about this yet....aside from the gorgeous bottle; This is very heavy on the rose, patchouli, and agarwood. I don't smell any of those top notes or magnolia. This is a pungent fragrance that most definitely is meant for winter or cold climates, it's a bit headache inducing so I'm going to test it more and report back.

I love Wednesday. I love the Addams Family. And I love the bottle of this perfume. It is gorgeous! It's even prettier in person and I admit it's the main reason I purchased this very expensive House of Sillage perfume. But I hate this scent, which is soooo unfortunate. I love rose, so I was hoping that I would like it. But the pepper is strong. The Elemi resin is not a nice fresh pine, but an off-putting spicy pine. I know Wednesday is a dark moody character, so I get that this wouldn't be a sweet gourmand scent. But she is also young, and this smells like an old grandmas house. That bottle is beautiful though! UPDATE: I dont know if it's because the juice has oxidized for 6 months or my nose has changed, but on a whim i sprayed Wednesday on my wrist the other day. The rose is a lot more prominent than it was before. Which made it wearable for me! I hope the rose continues to come out more over time because it's a pretty rose. Still not one I will reach for, but happy with this

Wow! This fragrance actually really surprised me. Because of the oud and vetiver, I thought this would be too heavy and cloying but it’s such an interesting fragrance! It’s nostalgic in a way that I wasn’t expecting in that it actually smells like a musty attic or the smell that you get when you go into a vintage antique shop! I smell old dust, rose, beautiful wooden furniture that’s just waiting to be loved again. It’s pretty cool how that captured this in a fragrance! It’s giving grandma in a vintage intriguing way.

“Outdoors.” This smells like outdoors in a moss covered cabin in the woods where you have to chop your own firewood, catch your own fish, bathe in the river, cook on a potbelly stove, and have to say things like, “what’s that floating in the lake?”...“What’s that smell?” and “what’s that creaking sound?”... all in all, it’s not bad if you liked summers at Camp Crystal Lake and would like roses laid on your gravestone... I could see Wednesday digging it, me not so much.

So it’s being released on December 11th, but it’s already got poor reviews for longevity and sillage performance. Got it.
