Traditional

This is one of my favorite aquatics, instantly fresh and oceanic right from the beginning, with no ethanol fumes. It has a bit of the Millesime Imperial melon note (i.e. believable honeydew, not synthetic watermelon like in some lesser aquatics). It makes me think of my old days back in Santa Barbara; it's not a stormy gray north seas aquatic like Bulgari Aqua, nor a sunny tropical lagoon like Tommy Bahama Very Cool, nor exotic like MI, just a sort of averagey coastal vibe. The fruit gets a bit dried up and sweeter during the mid notes, bringing it closer to Erolfa, minus the sharp herbs. Later on, the evolution is toward a more green character, which is unusual; it heads toward the wet, bitter grassy style of Hermes Gentiane Blanche or Sisley Eau de Campagne, though there's just a little bit of licorice here which I could do without. This green anisy base is one of the most natural ones I've encountered in an aquatic, without any of the sensation I usually get: "oh, yeah, we threw this base together really quick so it would still have a smell after all the calone evaporated." You can save some money and get this stuff insead of Erolfa.

A class by itself! A scent of a rare durability. Very dapper and refined, and, at the same time, refreshing and energizing. A T-shirt, a polo shirt, a white shirt, a smart casual attire, a formal suit... Hugh Parsons Traditional matches each of the aforementioned garbs. The juice, (un)fortunately, is little popular and – I have the impression – underrated. Nonetheless, I think that it is supremely beautiful, seductive and timeless. The scent, first of all, is composed of fruity notes (which I adore) along with green (mainly Angelica) and spicy (chiefly pepper) chords. There can be no triumph of form over content – I know this with absolute certainty. “The end crowns the work.” The final result of the work of Maurizio Cerizza (The Nose) stands for the authentic coping stone of the genuine work of art.

Interesting fragrance! It smells like illegitimate child of Creed and Floris :) It has this London vibe but with Creed's ambergris note and woods and aromatics.This is not a niche fragrance by quality but good designer scent done well. It might remind you of Chanel Bleu or Versace Dylan Blue but I like it more than the aforementioned two. It smells fresh, a little aquatic, good performance (above average for EDT concentration). Great bottle too!!! Try it, you will not be disappointed if you like this kind of scent.

This thing is truly a hidden gem. It is available in UK I believe. I can't pinpoint notes but it is very unique refreshing aquatic-like. It is very versatile and well blended. It smells so natural and last very long time. Youtube reviewer mymickers also discovered this ;) watch his review called "Fragrance Chat - Andi's Goodies 5-6-12"

Unique, classic scent, that is under rated. This entire house needs to get more love. I recieve compliments from people quite often when I wear this to work. Other men always ask me about it.

I bought this blind on the strength of forum recommendations and reviews. It's soft, bland mild and inoffensive. Vaguely flowery with a hint of black pepper, the initial hit is a blast of alcohol which quickly dissipates. The dry down is soapy/fabric conditioner pleasant and clean smelling. I found the sillage weak to moderate – occasionally I'd experience a waft of a pleasant fragrance but I'm not constantly aware of it as I would be if wearing a powerhouse. There's nothing to dislike about Traditional, it's a very safe choice, but no really strong reason for buying it either. Its saving grace is it isn't expensive.

I've owned this scent for years. What i get from it is Ambergris,Pepper Cedar and light citruses in the opening but it could be off putting to some because it is synthetic.But theres this dried urine type note that lingers for a couple of minutes behind it maybe its the transition going into the sandalwood from the mid to the base.Once this drys down this scent is amazing. 25 years and older for this scent. Scent: 7/10 Sillage:7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Compliment Factor:7/10

I'm surprised how little has been said about this brand. This is an absolutely underrated fragrance. Fresh, not intrusive, can be worn almost always. However, the price is, in my opinion, for what it is, a bit too high.

Sweet and green, fresh and fruity. Green and spicy opening with a fruity accord goes into a sweet ambergris base. Very aromatic overall and easy to wear, pleasant. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 7/10 Projection: 5/10

I have had this scent for years and have used it often as it was gifted to me. It still reminds me of cutter insect repellent. Even though it does smell much better it still triggers that scent memory. I really try to like this but it just reminds me of camping. maybe it's the currant buds and green leaves note in the top?

first time i got a whiff of this was in my uncles cologne cabinet. very under rated scent. Love it, need it.

Hugh Parsons Traditonal: Again this is in my sub-collection called 'Just Plain Fun' . This means carefree, affordable, and just makes sense to me personally. I have most Dunhill and am very excited about Hugh Parsons with two new ones on the way. It is considered a Citrus Aromatic, and that fits. It opens with a crisp Lemon/Mandarin maybe sharpened by the Juniper Berries. With listed notes of Cedar and Juniper Berries, there is a nice, clean smell to it, but not soapy. How I love Juniper bushes and Cedar trees after a rain!! There is just a tinge of something that is unfamiliar and of a somewhat 'clean' sort--maybe the Green Leaves notes. Two Listed Notes I cannot find: I cannot detect Sandalwood and don't know anything about Ambergris. Verbal descriptions of Ambergris don't really help me. I read some debate on YouTube. One 'Tuber' said ingredients were cheap, but at least two others characterized the note quality and blend as maybe even niche. I think 'maybe even niche' is good. Dunhill is another British house described as 'borderline niche'. Again, I am biased and love British fragrance. It ain't no Roja Dove, but the quality is there. Are my feelings Synthetic??? If Parsons Traditional is synthetic, bring it on. It is so well done. Certain observations make it seem like synthetics are not here, or used sparingly, or are not formulated for duration. Maybe earlier synthetics don't last and this formulation is earlier in time. Normally synthetics have ridiculous performance duration and this scent does not have extreme duration. Normally, synthetics project quite a fragrance cloud. This is not the case with this scent. Like a great lover, or a formidable power meeting, Parsons Traditional comes and then goes. Alright. . so maybe it has some synthetics. Maybe making making out with the Platinum wig and Strawberry Lip gloss is in order. Hmmmm. . .just thinking. You decide, and I don't need to know. The Drydown: My skin is an absorption monster, so Parsons Tradition becomes a modest fragrance cloud or maybe skin scent in about one hour. I only did three squirts. Overall drydown is paradise for the no-nonsense gentleman. I don't want to marry a scent. I like to wear multiple scents over a day. Parsons Traditional settles on a slightly tangy citrus with maybe the mysterious Green Leaves listed. Fast ride to very solid ground. Classy. The Notes: Ever had a ridiculously long and complex grocery list given to you by your mother or loved one? You just know that you are going to screw it up. Better double check. This notes list makes sense!! The list of notes can be grasped. It is not Note Heavy. If I am riding in a packed bus, I cannot really tell what that bus smells like. I'll just leave it there. The Bottle: Speaking of grasp, hold this bottle--so solid, heavy glass, and trimmed in high polish. Simple lines and all class. Tapered so it is not like an overly fat steering wheel on a car. Ever had to steer a fat steering wheel when your hands are tired and sore? Yeah, really. . . who cares. The bottle: grab it, spray it, and hit it on out the door!!!! The Atomizer: press soft, and you get a directed stream that you can smear. Press firmer and a nice, misty spray comes out. Dunhill and Parsons both have great atomizers. Lots of atomizers can be operated with different touches. This scent is extremely well-blended. It is a tough world out there in the fragrance scene. This is for the on-the-ball man who knows what he's got.

I was in a perfumery where they sell this brand and finally decided to try it. Man, this was a great choice from me, as this one fragrance is just so incredibly beautiful, fresh masculinity at its finest! It has everything what you need from this type of fragrance: freshness from citruses so the people around you will like it, woodiness with pepper so you will smell masculine. Until this point there are many other fragrances which fulfill these requirements, but there is something which makes this fragrance outstanding. I assume its the ambergris, tried to compare it with Bortnikoff's Amber Cologne, and I can smell some kind of similarity. Its so perfectly balanced, never gets too woody or fresh, there are no sharp edges, just one nice aura around you. Good for the office, I used it in winter on a warmer day (around 1-2 C), and worked perfectly. Its not that really fresh, like Piccadilly Circus so I would not use it during summer. Due to the woody notes its an autumn / winter fragrance for me. Has some kind of classy vibe, but definitely not for older folks, maybe 25 - 45. The bottle is pure class, and the atomizer works well also, but there is a little annoying click every time I spray it, however you can live with it. Cant wait to discover the other fragrances from the house.

An easy to like aromatic for men nice,inoffensive, hard to dislike Not special or interesting particularly, but if you wanted something akin to ysl homme this could be for you 4 hours longevity and poor projection
