It's beautiful, but it lasts as long as the drive to work. Personal: 8.5/10 – A wonderfully crisp citrus and ginger opening that I love. Bright, clean, and classy. If only it lasted longer, this would be an easy dumb-reach. Mass appeal: 9.5/10 – Fresh citrus-woody scents are nearly universally likable. Safe, approachable, and perfect for warm weather. Only ding is the slight fresh spiciness. Performance: 4/10 – Sadly the Achilles heel. It vanishes far too quickly, especially for something that opens so beautifully. Value: 7/10 – Priced affordably at discounters, which helps offset the weak performance. Still worth grabbing if you love the citrus sparkle and don't mind carrying a decant with you. Uniqueness: 6/10 – Fresh citrus-woody scents are everywhere. This one stands out only for how well-done the crisp citrus opening is. SCORE: 70/100 Full bottle buy? YES, even with the weak performance, I love the crisp citrus sparkle enough to own it. Blind buy? YES, at discounter prices. It’s safe, fresh, and approachable — just know it doesn’t last. Recommend? YES, especially if you want an easy office/daytime summer scent and don’t mind respraying frequently. Date night? NO, it’s too fleeting and polite to carry romance. Plus, citrusy freshies aren't seductive. Office safe? YES, extremely clean, subtle, and professional. Not at all cloying. Pros: Gorgeous citrus-ginger sparkle, safe and likable, great for summer or office wear. Cons: Terrible longevity, forgettable drydown, generic DNA outside the opening. Boss Bottled Tonic is the definition of a “love it but hate it” fragrance. The opening is absolutely stellar with crisp, sparkling citrus and a burst of slightly sweet, spicy ginger. It's a gorgeous fragrance that I really love as a dumb reach for the heat of summer, but my primary gripe with it is just how quickly it disappears. Seriously, on skin I get 4 hours max before it's barely even there. It's a skin scent within one hour. That said, I have to come back around and praise exactly how pleasant this fragrance is. When I first got my bottle, I found it mediocre at best, but as my tastes evolved, I appreciate how smooth and pleasant, and satisfyingly sharp, this fragrance really is. I love it, and I think almost nobody would dislike it. One of the most mass appealing fragrances out there. It can be found outright cheaply through discounters, but you'll go through your bottle in no time with how often you'll need to reapply. I have to re-review this because my first one was way off... I have absolutely fallen in love with this stuff this summer! It is so fresh and clean, alluring and crisp. I feel like I just took an icy cold refreshing shower whenever I put this on. This is not formal at all in my opinion, rather casual paired perfectly with your favorite t-shirt and khaki shorts as you're preparing to head out for a fun and hot day in the sun. I wear this quite frequently to work and get very positive feedback. One girl in particular absolutely loves it and follows me around whenever she can to catch whiffs of my scent trail. It definitely seems very hard to dislike so far! In my first review I had stated that I couldn't detect any cinnamon at all, which is not saying much because my nose is pretty pathetic at picking up individual notes unless it's blatantly obvious. However, I do notice it now...barely. It's just there to add a very subtle spiciness to the overall fresh composition. I was really scratching my head when I saw that cinnamon is the most detectable note that others are picking up on from the note pyramid, but I think I understand now. It's definitely there, just not in the same context as a winter fragrance with sweet and spicy cinnamon taking over the lead role, if that makes sense? Anyway....performance is solid for me. 3 sprays and it lasts an entire 8 hour work day. Even if I can't detect it, others have still been complimenting me long after I thought it was gone. Projection is moderate for at least 3-4 hours before fading to a skin scent. Love this stuff! 9/10

This scent is beautiful IMO. It is an extremely light, fresh blue fragrance that is well-suited for high temperatures AND perfect for going to the gym, running an errand, or after a shower - you don't have to think about which fragrance to pick as this will be your no-brainer pick. The longevity is about 30-60 minutes before it dissipates - which is why it is perfect for the activities I have mentioned and you can put another fragrance over it without the Tonic clashing with the layered fragrance. Of course you can spray as much as you like but I found the sillage and longevity performance will remain the same. People don't understand that it's better to have a great smelling fragrance that does not long than a shit smelling fragrance that last the whole day. I have owned cheap alternatives like CK One, Versace Eau Fraiche, Versace Pour Homme, Chanel Allure Homme etc. And for me, this is the best smelling fragrance out of all of them. It is not your "generic" blue fragrance as it is not too astringent or smelling like cleaning products and it has its own uniqueness to stand above the rest of the cheapies.

Here is my honest and unbiased review. This is a very pleasant, light and refreshing scent. It's not strong, so don't go by the charts above because those are obviously misleading. As well as the note breakdown. I could not detect cinnamon at all. What I could detect was green apple, citrus and light woods. It is totally inoffensive and I don't think you could overspray even if you tried. I get about 5-6 hours of longevity with moderate to soft projection for the first 2 hours. From there it just lingers close to the skin with faint whiffs noticeable every now and then. Today is only my second day wearing it and I've already received a compliment. There was a middle aged woman that told me she could follow me around all day because I smelled so good. I applied 5 sprays about an hour before this compliment. Other people like it, I like it, that's good enough for me! A little weak but not terrible. 8.5/10

One of my lovers wore this. He was so funny, cocky, sharp. Some men that I have dated wore overcomplicated, heavy almost suffocating in their trying to seem different fragrances, boasted about their expensive collections. I could tell they wanted to be complimented on how they smell, I always did compliment them. Out of all the perfumes I’ve owned and smelled on other people I never wanted to burrow my nose into the skin, roll my eyes in pleasure and keep catching the scent all day like I do with this one. It’s so simple, I work in the arts and hang around very niche one can even say esoteric crowd. It’s almost ironic that the scent I like most is clean simple and so very typically masculine.
