It's beautiful, but it lasts as long as the drive to work. Personal: 8.5/10 – A wonderfully crisp citrus and ginger opening that I love. Bright, clean, and classy. If only it lasted longer, this would be an easy dumb-reach. Mass appeal: 9.5/10 – Fresh citrus-woody scents are nearly universally likable. Safe, approachable, and perfect for warm weather. Only ding is the slight fresh spiciness. Performance: 4/10 – Sadly the Achilles heel. It vanishes far too quickly, especially for something that opens so beautifully. Value: 7/10 – Priced affordably at discounters, which helps offset the weak performance. Still worth grabbing if you love the citrus sparkle and don't mind carrying a decant with you. Uniqueness: 6/10 – Fresh citrus-woody scents are everywhere. This one stands out only for how well-done the crisp citrus opening is. SCORE: 70/100 Full bottle buy? YES, even with the weak performance, I love the crisp citrus sparkle enough to own it. Blind buy? YES, at discounter prices. It’s safe, fresh, and approachable — just know it doesn’t last. Recommend? YES, especially if you want an easy office/daytime summer scent and don’t mind respraying frequently. Date night? NO, it’s too fleeting and polite to carry romance. Plus, citrusy freshies aren't seductive. Office safe? YES, extremely clean, subtle, and professional. Not at all cloying. Pros: Gorgeous citrus-ginger sparkle, safe and likable, great for summer or office wear. Cons: Terrible longevity, forgettable drydown, generic DNA outside the opening. Boss Bottled Tonic is the definition of a “love it but hate it” fragrance. The opening is absolutely stellar with crisp, sparkling citrus and a burst of slightly sweet, spicy ginger. It's a gorgeous fragrance that I really love as a dumb reach for the heat of summer, but my primary gripe with it is just how quickly it disappears. Seriously, on skin I get 4 hours max before it's barely even there. It's a skin scent within one hour. That said, I have to come back around and praise exactly how pleasant this fragrance is. When I first got my bottle, I found it mediocre at best, but as my tastes evolved, I appreciate how smooth and pleasant, and satisfyingly sharp, this fragrance really is. I love it, and I think almost nobody would dislike it. One of the most mass appealing fragrances out there. It can be found outright cheaply through discounters, but you'll go through your bottle in no time with how often you'll need to reapply. I have to re-review this because my first one was way off... I have absolutely fallen in love with this stuff this summer! It is so fresh and clean, alluring and crisp. I feel like I just took an icy cold refreshing shower whenever I put this on. This is not formal at all in my opinion, rather casual paired perfectly with your favorite t-shirt and khaki shorts as you're preparing to head out for a fun and hot day in the sun. I wear this quite frequently to work and get very positive feedback. One girl in particular absolutely loves it and follows me around whenever she can to catch whiffs of my scent trail. It definitely seems very hard to dislike so far! In my first review I had stated that I couldn't detect any cinnamon at all, which is not saying much because my nose is pretty pathetic at picking up individual notes unless it's blatantly obvious. However, I do notice it now...barely. It's just there to add a very subtle spiciness to the overall fresh composition. I was really scratching my head when I saw that cinnamon is the most detectable note that others are picking up on from the note pyramid, but I think I understand now. It's definitely there, just not in the same context as a winter fragrance with sweet and spicy cinnamon taking over the lead role, if that makes sense? Anyway....performance is solid for me. 3 sprays and it lasts an entire 8 hour work day. Even if I can't detect it, others have still been complimenting me long after I thought it was gone. Projection is moderate for at least 3-4 hours before fading to a skin scent. Love this stuff! 9/10

This scent is beautiful IMO. It is an extremely light, fresh blue fragrance that is well-suited for high temperatures AND perfect for going to the gym, running an errand, or after a shower - you don't have to think about which fragrance to pick as this will be your no-brainer pick. The longevity is about 30-60 minutes before it dissipates - which is why it is perfect for the activities I have mentioned and you can put another fragrance over it without the Tonic clashing with the layered fragrance. Of course you can spray as much as you like but I found the sillage and longevity performance will remain the same. People don't understand that it's better to have a great smelling fragrance that does not long than a shit smelling fragrance that last the whole day. I have owned cheap alternatives like CK One, Versace Eau Fraiche, Versace Pour Homme, Chanel Allure Homme etc. And for me, this is the best smelling fragrance out of all of them. It is not your "generic" blue fragrance as it is not too astringent or smelling like cleaning products and it has its own uniqueness to stand above the rest of the cheapies.

Here is my honest and unbiased review. This is a very pleasant, light and refreshing scent. It's not strong, so don't go by the charts above because those are obviously misleading. As well as the note breakdown. I could not detect cinnamon at all. What I could detect was green apple, citrus and light woods. It is totally inoffensive and I don't think you could overspray even if you tried. I get about 5-6 hours of longevity with moderate to soft projection for the first 2 hours. From there it just lingers close to the skin with faint whiffs noticeable every now and then. Today is only my second day wearing it and I've already received a compliment. There was a middle aged woman that told me she could follow me around all day because I smelled so good. I applied 5 sprays about an hour before this compliment. Other people like it, I like it, that's good enough for me! A little weak but not terrible. 8.5/10

One of my lovers wore this. He was so funny, cocky, sharp. Some men that I have dated wore overcomplicated, heavy almost suffocating in their trying to seem different fragrances, boasted about their expensive collections. I could tell they wanted to be complimented on how they smell, I always did compliment them. Out of all the perfumes I’ve owned and smelled on other people I never wanted to burrow my nose into the skin, roll my eyes in pleasure and keep catching the scent all day like I do with this one. It’s so simple, I work in the arts and hang around very niche one can even say esoteric crowd. It’s almost ironic that the scent I like most is clean simple and so very typically masculine. It also makes sense. I do miss him

I received a sample of this from my local Macey’s and I’m so glad I did! I instantly knew I had to own it. It’s very underrated unique scent. Still has original #6 dna but it’s a way fresher woodier take. I prefer this over the original 100%! Signature scent worthy. Lasts about 4 hours on my skin but that’s about what you’d expect. This becomes an inner bubble scent for a few more hours before disappearing. Blind buy approved imo. Just gorgeous! All the notes harmonize beautifully! Edit: the more that I wear this the more I smell a soapy clean vetiver. Still really enjoy this profile. Clean and unoffensive. I wear it to Work. I bring a small 2ml decant and refresh mid day.

Very nice, opens with a bright citrus and ginger that leaps off the skin. I really enjoy when a flanker has the originals DNA. This has the Boss Bottled core in the final dry down. I really like this fragrance and will enjoy it this summer, BUT its weakness is bad longevity. This has the great opening and for about two hours it’s really nice, after that you will get about 3 more hours of the Boss Bottled dry down. Projects ok for about three hours. If you know your time window for when you would like to rock this scent, it will work and projects alright for a time. I find most summer oriented fragrances suffer from this, but I have learned to accept it. Cheers all.

Anything you can say about Boss Bottled, make it fresher with more citruses and a bit dialed back on the sweetness, and you've got Boss Bottled Tonic. Appropriate for any age, any time of year especially as a gym scent or as a warm weather casual scent to beat the heat. Performance is pretty bad, about an hour or two tops no matter how much you use pretty much, but if you can find it for around $30-35, it's a hot deal and I'd suggest it to anybody especially if you know and love the original Bottled or the EDP Intense version. Overall score: 8/10, but with some room for improvement in terms of performance and the fact that it basically smells like the original.

Pleasantly supprised by this when i first tested as im not a fan of the BB range (dont mind BB intense but not enough to buy). Very pleasant and easy to wear scent, ideal for spring/summer. Casual fresh spicy scent, i get the ginger and spice at the start and a fizzy/tonic type of freshness, it doesnt change much other than some soft woods coming in later. Id describe it as a classier sports type scent, easy to wear in hot weather but with some depth to it, for the days when you dont want a power house but something more relaxed and easy going. The performance wasnt too bad for me, projection not great but average longevity.

This is a very underrated fragrance, it's nothing new or special, but it's Hugo boss what did you expect. It does what it promises and it does it well, it's fresh, it's invigorating and it's clean. It's not strong, it won't last all day, but you will feel great wearing this. The perfect scent for any usage. Work, school, gym, shopping, date, there's no occasion where this scent goes wrong. Now it's not very cheap, but it's not very expensive either, it's definitely worth a test at least. This fragrance needs more love than it currently gets

This fragrance has got to be the worst performing fragrance from the line. My goodness performance is dismal. Weak is an understatement because it is terrible on projection, silage and longevity. The fragrance itself has so much potential and i enjoy it. As to why a fragrance can be so poorly formulated from Hugo Boss, is beyond me. In fact it should be illegal to sell such poor qualify at that price. intimate sits close to skin without a trail is the closest current available rating but this things does not even sit on the skin.

This is a good easy going scent. It's perfect for work or any place you would want to use a safe scent. I get a slightly more fresh and fruitier version of the original Boss Bottled. Take the vanilla out of Boss Bottled and you might get this because the apple is still pretty prominent. This is a good one to have if you're a Boss fan like me and I think a lot of people that aren't looking for something loud will really enjoy this one. This is cool and slick. Great with a light colored suit on a warm day. I give this a 8.8/10

The scent is amazing. A fresher/lighter take on Boss Bottled. Unfortunately the performance is terrible. Sad, because the scent itself is very crisp and fresh. You definitely smell the Boss #6 DNA in this. Could've been real special. Keep the bottle with you to reapply and it really isn't as bad as others have stated. I do only get about 3 hours of longevity with it though. Age: Any Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 4/10 Projection: 5/10 Overall: 6/10 .....I do love the scent though and wear it regularly. Just have to reapply often

One of the best men's perfumes ever. If you wear this, I would compliment the hell out of you. This smells like a luxury hotel. Fresh, handsome, elegant, and comforting. It is light and easy on the nose so it will be great for when you don't feel like wearing a strong, leathery-scented perfume which sometimes can be headache-inducing. My man loves this perfume and I, too, love it on him. Btw, it smells similar to Hugo Boss Bottled No. 6, so you really don't need to own both of them. :)

This is so fresh and smooth. This is perfect for the office or anything casual. If you have to wear a shirt and tie or just a plain white t-shirt in the middle of the day time then this is perfect. It smells like the original Boss Bottled but just a little more fresh and less sweet. It's a great fragrance for very basic times throughout the day. This could be good for the gym but it also has a solid professional side to it. This is a nice one!

One of the sexiest, fresh fragrances on the market. Love how bright and fresh this scent is. Had this one as a gift from my wife and she loves the scent so thats always a good thing. Still keeps the Boss Bottled DNA and freshens it up perfectly for warm weather. Not one that lasts particularly long but is a must buy for its freshness and sensational scent. Absolutely love this one just a shame about the performance.

This is possibly my favorite boss bottled flanker. So light, crispy and refreshing...however just feels like it doesn't make enough noise. I know scents like these aren't designed to do that but it's the type of scent that is allowed to and won't offend anyone. If I bought this I would probably apply more than usual as its a little bit too light. Can imagine the hot weather would radiate it out a bit though. 7.9/10

The fragrance itself is not weak, just not enough sprays are being applied, I sprayed 15 times and the longevity was between 6 and 8 hours, projecting 1.5mts for about 2 hours, then a bubble around you for the next 3 hours, then the next 1 to 3 hours it turns to a skin scent. So dont be a sissy sprayer and dont try to punish such a good summer fresh fragance. 8.5/10 very good price/value and safe blind buy.

Great cheap summer fragrance that holds true to the Boss Bottled DNA. Light and slightly aquatic with that familiar apple forward note, it's great bang for your buck and extremely pleasant on those super hot days. Yeah, the performance is subpar, but this is also one that can be oversprayed at will as a result. Frankly one of the more unique and distinguishable out of the rather ho-hum Boss Bottled lineup.

Tonic is such a great scent. If you want to smell Nice. Clean. Fresh, Woodsy... This is perfect! It does last all day... but... It's Subtle. Two-Three sprays of Tonic on your chest is perfect. If you're looking for something that someone across the room will smell... I would recommend Joop, Ultra Male, Eros... and there are many other options of Beast Mode Colognes out there.

Yes this is quite light but scent is good. It's like the orginal Boss Bottled without vanilla and for that reason this is so much better. Some how it reminds me Tommy Hilfiger - back in the days (2000). Longevity and sillage aren't great but sometimes it's better not to smell same frag whole day and also heavy scents are so last season. Believe or not I'll give this 9/10

I love this; it's perfect for summer and hot climates. Despite the already stated projection and longevity issues, this provides a feeling of "coziness" like no other fragrance that I've ever tried. Unlike Bulgari Blu, where the ginger is overpowering and soapy, the ginger here is light and refreshing. Go ahead and over spray; for the price, it can't be beat!

I get decent longevity and solid projection from this. Come one guys, its a fresh fragrance, it wouldnt be good if this was as strong as Kouros. On the other hand, I think this is not fresh enough for the summer heat. I get extremely soft, immasculine scent, casual-semi formal, but very beautiful. Too sweet for summer, perfect for spring.

People claiming this has poor longevity are either over spraying, under spraying, expect too much or are used to wearing very heavy scents and have lost the ability to smell. I've gotten 4-6 hours easily each time I've worn this off of 4 sprays. If you think 4-6 hours is poor for an EDT then you need to rethink your expectations

Truth in advertising...I love Boss Bottled so loving Boss Bottled Tonic is a very easy leap. what I like about Tonic is that it brings the Boss Bottled DNA into warmer weather where Boss Bottled may, perhaps, be too heavy. Really pleasant. compliment getter. best suited for daytime. average sillage. good longevity.

The name says it all, TONIC. Fantastic fresh/bright/citrus opening with a generic dry-down and poor longevity. This one truly is all about the opening and it never gets old. Boss Bottled DNA underneath it all but never really gets very heavy or overly sweet. Great for daytime, spring/summer.

I love this fresh & masculine scent a lot to be honest, but the longevity is terrible, lasted for just half hour and then you have to literally smell your skin in order to smell the scent again. Well it is true with its name, tonic = water. This is just a scented water.

This has to be my favourites from the BOSS Bottled line. It’s fresh & rejuvenating!! Certainly very underrated but don’t believe everything you read. Try it for yourself. Night and Tonic are my 2 Top BOSS choices and both are so different, like night and day...

Mmm. Love it, way better than original. Well, it is pretty much original without cedar, which is game changer for me. I just don’t get it to smell pencil shavings when all other notes are gone. I have full bottle of #6, definately would swap it to this.

I really love the smell. It’s slightly spicy fresh. That’s my wheelhouse. Hard to justify full retail because of the performance. It does draw compliments if that’s what you’re wearing it for. Just bring a travel sprayer so you can constantly refresh.

Nice scent, I think the performance is just fine. I only need stuff to last a few hours for an evening or a night out with my wife, not every fragrance needs to last 3 days unless you're someone who doesn't shower. Great pickup for a good price atm

This is easily one of the best summer fragrances I've ever smelled. One way to overcome longevity issues is to double spray the same spot. The more oil, the longer the fragrance will last.

I've come around on this one, it does smell similar to the original but it's much nicer, just a burst of freshness that the original lacked. I like this the most of all the flankers

Smells just like a lighter, fresher version of the original. On no planet does it smell like Silver Shadow, that's one of the worst comparisons I've ever seen

great everyday work /casual frag. it's not an amazing fragrance but something draws you in each time. ladies seem to love it though, its just mass appealing.

Nothing special a dumb reach on a warm day, or if you like to wear something at the gym. It's nice, and it's sits comfortably in the nice section.

Seriously weak performer, but scent is so lovely. Also very safe, nearly impossible to dislike. Fairly affordable so spray a lot and reapply.

When you want to wear Boss Bottle Intense but it’s summer. This is great summer fragrance done right as a flanker. Highly underrated.

The most versatile fresh scent. Even PDM Sedley cannot hold a candle to this. All the other variables are just variables.

This is a very specific kind of fragrance. It sits in the "skin scent for after shower/bath" or " something nice on the skin during hot weather" place on the shelf. Three sprays on the back of my hand lasted 4-5 hours when I first tried this fragrance. In general, I would say this is NOT meant to be a long lasting scent. This is built to be a light skin scent, leaning masculine. It's warm, close, and slightly sexy. Ordinarily these fragrances are not great on my skin, but this one is not too bad. This can be sprayed as many times as you want, it's a skin scent/ warm hug. I'm not one for over spraying, but you cannot go wrong with however many sprays you want. This sort of thing I average 6-10 depending on what I'm doing. It's the sort of scent people go anosmic to - anyone saying it only lasts half and hour or less has gone nose blind. If you really want to keep smelling it spray away (behind ears, back of head), and spray clothes. When you first spray it there's a strong waft of perfumers alcohol, so don't sniff straight away unless you want to kill you nose for a few hours. High heat, summer evenings, after bath/shower, or just chilling out, this thing is that small cherry on top. If you are looking to blow people away across a room you are looking in the wrong place. I was quite happy to get this bottle and add it to the collection. It's currently reining champion of the skins scents for summer.

This is a fragrance that smells good while it lasts on your skin. Hugo Boss Boss Bottled Tonic slightly brightens up Boss Bottled into a summer daytime fragrance. One of a few fragrances that have a bitter orange that I don't get repulsed by. Hugo Boss Boss Bottled Tonic opens with some Boss Bottled trademark apple, but adds bitter orange and Grapefruit into the mix. In the mid you get Boss Bottled trademark cinnamon but it is balanced by the ginger which is common in fragrance flankers branded as a Tonic for whatever reason. Azzaro Wanted Tonic for example has the citric ginger open as well. The base is hardly noticeable sadly. Boss Bottled Tonic is a spring, summer scent. Might work in warmer early fall days too. It works best as a dumb reach for right out of the shower or in the locker room. It can work for a workout since performance isn't that great. It lasts 2-3 hours tops and off my skin doesn't project that good. Hugo Boss Boss Bottled Tonic is a fragrance I'm torn on. On the one hand, it is a nice casual but fleeting summer scent. On the other hand, I have seen rue21 fragrances perform better than this designer scent. I think a 6.4 is in order for Tonic. I like the scent and it is a good summer alternative to Boss Bottled, it just doesn't perform well at all.

Hugo Boss Bottle Tonic is BRIGHT FRESH-SPOAPY-CLEAN//LIGHTLY CREAMY-SWEET-SPICY, the sport' &/or 'fraiche' flanker to the OG Hugo Boss Bottled Hugo Boss Bottle Tonic (HBBT) smell like 70% Chanel Allure Sport + 30% OG Hugo Boss Bottled, but HBBT smells soapier than Allure Sport & uses an apple accord instead of citrus in Allure Sport. At the core of HBBT it's still the freshness of the OG Hugo Boss Bottled (OG HBB) however in HBBT the freshness is more fresh aquatic-clean (similar to Chanel Allure Sport) than spicy-floral fresh like the OG HBB & not as sweet & floral either, the sweetness of HBBT is more similar to the slightly creamy-sweetness of Allure Sport Eau Extreme + a hint of spicy/earthy-ness from the woods & clove (which is light but still adds density & depth coupled with the other accords). Like the OG HBB, somewhat unisex , but Ieans masculine imo due to the hint of clove+woods & lack of floralness & toned down sweetness which tho toned down may come off unisex. Gets a lot of hate due to not being a beastly performer, but perfect for inclose indoor settings; Not Chanel quality, but no more synthetic smelling than Versace or Paco Rabbane. UNDERATED GOOD SMELLING FRESH CLEAN SLIGHTY SWEET FRAG

MODERATELY FRESH CLEAN SLIGHTLY WARM/SPICY/SWEET smells of doing laundry while baking/cooking an apple/cinnamon dish (the cinnamon apple ginger combo makes for a slight gourmandish accord), bright sparkling citric opening, along with a slight spice apple pie accord (like Boss Bottled #6, just not as bold), i even detect a light fresh clean + cocoa butter like accord when fully dry (like applying cocoa butter fresh out of the shower); has some depth for a 'generic' 'mass-appealing' 'freshie', stays clean & fresh start to finish, all the notes are fairly light so projection isn't the best but it isn't terrible (just spray a lot, so light can't over-spray); really good composition, smells really good and i'm not even a fan of Boss Bottled #6 but Boss Bottled Tonic isn't super sweet like Boss Bottled #6, but it's'mass-appealing' most will like the scent; day-time spring/summer/fall application. Projection/Sillage' is GOOD, nice scent bubble within about 3 ft for 1-2 hours, then very in-close; it's alight fragrance but still detectable/noticeable within arms length; Performance/Longevity is DECENT, on fabric last about 5 hours
