Boss Element

I honestly believe most of the negative reviews here does not understand the use case for Hugo Element. It is so naturally clean and fresh. It is so light as in airy like a summer breeze and fits perfectly for spring and summer days. It starts off with the water and air notes and as it dries you smell the earthy base notes of cedar and musk. Element is the perfect name for this one. This is my go to fragrance every time I just want to smell clean and fresh. It is a very soothing smell. Perfectly for those days I do not want to attract too much attention and also do not want to offend someone wearing something that smells too much. Perfect smell for job interviews, business meetings, lunch dates, airplane travel etc... Contrary to what many says here, I actually get compliments for this one every now and then. One women sitting next to me at the airport once told me I smell like I am in very good health. Strangest comment I have ever received wearing a fragrance.

I love Hugo Boss Element. Boss doesn't really get any love in the fragrance community, aside from maybe Boss Bottled. Well, I love this much more than Boss Bottled! Probably my favorite from the house, that I've smelled. A big part of the reason is that I have many memories tied to this scent. Because of that, I probably can't give it an unbiased review, but it smells absolutely fabulous to me. Fresh yet smokey. This is one I will always keep in my collection.

Please bring back this Hugo Element. I need this! The best fresh, clean, breeze, aquatic scent. If you are a fraghead you probably not appreciate it because your nose are too much with other fragrances notes such spices & sweetness whatever. However to most passerby, Hugo Element smell like something breeze & clean aroma. My colleages, men & women, they said I smell like a clean man. It is mass pleasing clean scent.

Very fresh, clean, and crisp. With a balance of warm and cool, this is my new go-to fragrance when I need something unoffensive and fear wearing something too "stinky." More of a warm weather fragrance but I think it could really work at any time.

My only bottle has gone off and just smells like rubbing acohol at this point. Was my daily wear from 2009 to 2013. Loved the stuff. Hope they bring it back. Hugo boss bottled aqua is a good substitute for it

love this perfume...the opening is a bit spicy... then turn into warm and refreshing... perfect for sunny evening...your girlfriend will stick to your neck. so far the best i ever had.

Love this scent. It smells very "modern" and refreshing. Although there are citrus in the pyramid, I can't really smell it. It's not a sweet scent at all. Really recommend this one.

the first Element by HB is like earthy, the Aqua Elements is obviously water. This one is windy in my opinion. I feel like Im carried around on a wind when im wearing this.

This is such a beautiful scent. I love it so much I consider it one of my signature scents. Smells like I've been swimming in a salt & pepper water falls

Hugo Boss Element opens with a moderate projection of citrus, aquatic notes, and ginger. The opening is very pleasant, refreshing, and vibrant. The citrus notes come up as a mix of bergamot with a pinch of sweet orange. The aquatic note is evocative of a fresh oceanic breeze but it isn’t salty. The coriander is just a light aromatic and spicy accord. The initial moderate projection is short-live and it drops very quickly in just a few minutes. At that point, a soft musk accord enters the blend creating a soft airy and powdery accord that enhances the citrus tones, but it is weak. Finally, Virginia Cedar is a soft touch. The transition from the opening to the dry-down is characterized by a sudden drop of projection from moderate to low. Once Hugo Element has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a low projecting, slightly sweet, soft citrus, aquatic, and ginger fragrance with the slightly powdery musky, spicy and faint woody accord. The fragrance feels airy, clean, cold, delicate, faint, fresh, gentle, light, marine, masculine but not for much, modern, sporty, weak, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020 WOW RATING: 5/10. This is a versatile fragrance and can be worn at almost any time for any occasion during spring and summer. GENDER: Masculine, but not for much. AGES: Any. RECOMMENDATION: Hugo Boss has produced fantastic scents but very poor performance is consistent across almost all fragrances from this house. Hugo Element if another one them, an exquisite scent but with such poor performance, below body sprays, very disappointing. Consider alternatives. BLIND-BUY: Yes, but only if you are familiar with citrus-based fragrances. SIMILAR: The market is full of citrusy fragrances. Here is a list of some of them. Armaf Le Parfait Men EDT is a good one and affordable; Bond No 9 Bleecker Street contains citrus/bergamot notes but adds more green notes; Creed Viking for Men EDP adds more spices; Dua Fragrances – Poseidon's Tux is a citrus-based fragrance; Dua Fragrances – Caribbean Waters contains coconut and more gourmand notes; Dua Fragrances – Lone Star is a citrus refreshing fragrance; Mancera Lemon Line is a pure citrus fragrance. SUMMARY: A low projecting, slightly sweet, soft citrus, aquatic, and ginger fragrance with a slightly powdery musky, spicy and faint woody accord. The fragrance feels airy, clean, cold, delicate, faint, fresh, gentle, light, marine, masculine but not for much, modern, sporty, weak, and pleasant.

"Well dang, I already wore all my other colognes this month, what should I wear... Hmm.. Oh! Hugo Element, ok, I forgot how much you smell good!" And it truly does smell good. Generic yeahhhh I know but it's a good generic. Casual, youthful, fresh, spicy (to me) and urban. I also think it's aquatic and since it has no olfactive group I hereby declare it Spicy-Aquatic! Weird combination, I know. Fragrantica does not have the notes listed so I'll do us the honors... This is directly from nstperfume.com posted by Kevin: "Hugo Element contains Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol, Citral, coumarin, and wisps of ginger, coriander and cedar wood, but Calone overpowers the other notes." Which I totally agree with him on.(I like how some of the ingredients have a form of "lol" at the end, hehehe!) He also states: "When the words “aquatic,” “marine” or “oceanic” are included in a list of perfume notes, or in a perfume description, the chances are good Calone is in the formula." That being said, I smell two main ingredients amongst all those other funny looking words that look like words on the back of a shampoo bottle. The Calone and I swear there is pepper in this. I do smell some ginger in it but it isn't very stong. I guess that's where H.E. gets some of its sharpness from. Longevity ain't to bad. I wish it would last longer. But hey, you get what you pay for right? It's not strong, stays close to my skin and its welcoming. A good chick magnet I guess. In conclusion, H.E. can be worn whenever, however. Hugo definitely targeted this for the young crowd. P.S. I feel like I just did a research paper. ;)

I like this fragrance and I make no apologies for that. In fact I really like this stuff. It's aroma therapy in a bottle. It has a vibrancy to it that's energizing. On my skin it starts off with a sharp citrus and ginger opening then it dries down into a green and bitter aroma (yeah, I said bitter) which is why I find it aromatic as opposed to aquatic. This scent reminds me of thick, green, raw vegetation )or 'bush' as we say in my neck of the woods)after the rain has fallen (If that makes any sense at all). contrary to what seems to be popular opinion here, I find the juice quite appealing. It's not complex neither does it evolve much from opening to end, I just like the darn thing and that's that. Elements is not for everyone. If you're young or young at heart, love the outdoors, full of energy and possess an unparalleled passion for life then go for it. It's a welcomed break from the usual. And the stuff lasts a long time on my skin, if my body temp raises the smell gets even stronger. Good stuff. Two thumbs up

A very nice aquatic citrus fragrance with a clean musky undertone. There is a hint of some spices in the background as well. This is one of the most work safe fragrances around as this will offend exactly no one, but I can understand if people find it boring or redundant. I just happen to love it! This is a very calm and relaxing scent for me. It works best as a daytime casual or office fragrance in spring and summer. It would work great for a lunch date as well. I get 5-6 hours from this with mild projection. I bought this on a visit to Tokyo when I was in college. This scent brings back so many good memories from that time and I will always keep this in my collection.

I like it, but I certainly didn't fall in love with it! It's too ordinary for my personal taste. I also don't get how there can be so many rather oriental-spicy notes in this fragrance; my nose doesn't smell them (I really adore coriander as a perfume note but it gets lost in this one). I think Boss "Element" it's rather a fresh citrus smell which can and should be worn to business events mainly. You can imagine Jonathan Rhys-Meyers wearing this one in the movie "Match Point" - it's like that Woody Allen film: interesting, but still a little bit disappointing. My rating: 8 out of 10 points.

Overall light and easy to wear fresh and clean. Very pleasant to wear. A great summer fragrance. Not necesarily a scent used by larger crowds. I used 2 bottles in my past. Its a light scent, but its nice and fresh, sits kind of close to the skin, but its pretty cheap. You really smell the water notes, i cant explain, water dosent really have a smell, but i smell it lol i smell the citrus and ginger too. I like it, i think its worth having, if you just want to smell fresh. Perfect for really hot weather. Suitable for any age man, i think woman could even wear it too.
