Boss Orange for Men

I did blind buy this one. I knew it wouldn't be too big of a risk since I really like other Boss based fragrances. I was right, this is good. Just like Boss Bottled #6, this is also an easy dumb reach. It's vanilla -centric fragrance. I loves me some vanilla so this one is right up my alley. It is similar to Boss Bottled but a bit more spicy and with heavier vanilla. The red apple note is very nice. A juicy type of apple. I think this is a year round fragrance that, like Boss Bottled, won't get cloying in the heat. Up close it's juicy apples, spice, and vanilla. In the air (trailing) it's less spicy and sweeter. Yup, bubblegum. Either way, it's all good. I like both spiced vanilla and apple. It's not overwhelming masculine but has just enough spice that females have said it's for guys. I don't personally think this is overwhelmingly sweet. For reference, Sun Java has vanilla and fruit notes in the form of watermelon and something else. It is indeed sweet and many guys may be put off by it. This is not quite as sweet and has a touch of spiciness. Not a sugar bomb. Yet...I have do have to admit that there is indeed a bubblegum smell to it. Sillage and longevity are similar to Boss Bottled as well. This may be a tad stronger but not drastically so. For me, a really good buy and I'm quite pleased but bear in mind I really love men's vanilla fragrances. That will always skew my opinion a bit.

My first favorite fragrance. Saw this suggested in the "What fragrance do women love on guys?" thread, read the description, and immediately bought a sample. The opening is a sweet crisp apple with some spices. It then dries down into a warmer woody vanilla that is still sweet and maintains enough of the refreshing apple scent to be suitable for a warmer day, but ideal for a warm night. The spicy, peppery, almost cinnamon undernote that is present throughout the entire life of this keeps it from being cloying to me, but it is very sweet. This is a young man's scent, but not in the traditional sense. It's not a macho man's clubbing fragrance, it's a first date at a coffee shop near a university at 7:00pm, mid-autumn, with freshly fallen leaves on the sidewalk and no work the next day. This is unchallenging and very reasonably priced; I would suggest this to anyone new to fragrances. (this review has been edited to better reflect my original and current opinion) TL;DR - Easy to like apple-woody-spicy-sweet. Versatile date night fragrance.

I first picked this up in 2012 and have loved it since. It’s spicy and sweet and (imo) very high quality for the price. You can now pick it up for <$30 from any reputable grey market dealer. Don’t let the name fool you. There is no orange note, nor even a citrus accord. This is a spicy apple vanilla. If you are looking for a fragrance that screams “I HAVE ARRIVED” when you walk into any given room, look elsewhere. The opening is kinda intense for people who haven’t delved too deep into perfume, but the dry down is a nice, soft, and an almost gourmand vanilla fragrance. This is worth the $20 you’d spend on a one off blind buy from a discounter. Give it a go. Worst case scenario, you spend $20 and give it to someone else. Best case scenario ; you realize (much like I did) that you’ve been spending too much on other perfumes.

Nose Note #617 Some time in you really start to get this DG The One feeling, but The One is undoubtedly better scent-wise. You may not feel this apple note in the sillage, but upclose it does smell like a red apple, sweet and a little sour, and unfortunately not very good, because it occasionally gives a whiff of a tomato that's going off. If you don't put a lot of thought into it, it's just a decent mens scent with average performance. The performance is about the same as The One - that is not great at all. Just average. Good, non offensive, fit for any season. One of those dumb reach scents. The cost is OK too, but I'd try out the Fragrance World dupe Base Orange. I imagine the dupe would be as good because this doesn't come across as a complex scent 7.5/10, I really like the direction, but the details are a little lousy

I first smelled the "redesigned" box version at Nordstrom. It smelled fantastic, but I passed. Regretting I didn't get it, I bought it a few weeks later. Some commenters below have remarked that it smells like an orange sherbert. That might be a pretty good comparison, though it is hard to imagine without directly comparing it that way. In simple terms, I'd say the scents could be Vanilla / Sort of "Orange"/Bergamot / Creamy / Sugar. The dry down might be even better–not as sweet, perhaps more musky IMO. It gets compliments. Unfortunately, the scent dies down too quickly for my liking. This probably will be my daily until the bottle runs out. If anyone knows the EDP or a stronger/longer-lasting formulation of this, could you PM me what it is?

this one has been rebranded as hugo boss man, so if that's what you're looking for, you've found it. this is one of my favorite fragrances, and i consider it a gourmand. i wore it today and about an hour after i thought the projection had vanished, i got a compliment at panda express... from the lady serving me across the counter. i had sprayed probably 10 sprays but it had been a couple hours since then so that surprised me. it has a very creamy and smooth apple smell to it, almost like a freshly baked apple pie. it isn't the strongest fragrance out there, but you can find bottles of it at places like burlington for 25 dollars. this is a very delicious smelling, mass-appealing, and inexpensive fragrance. 9.5/10

One of the most underrated Hugo Boss fragrances out there. It’s a shame that it doesn’t get the love it deserves. A very casual fragrance with a sweet and refreshing opening that transitions to a smooth vanilla base. It's also pretty versatile; suitable for both business and leisure environments. Perfect for daytime use and can be worn all year round with best results during the warmer seasons. Sure, the fragrance doesn’t last long (6 hours in my case) and the sillage is mild, which is why many people dislike it. Personally I’m not a fan of fragrances that stick around for too long during hot summer days. Boss Orange makes for a great summer fragrance.

This is a VERY underrated fragrance. To me, it is a more upbeat date night fragrance. This is also great if your plans are for staying in or going out. Boss Orange is not the typical syrupy ambery heavy date night fragrance. The light zesty orange gives it a slightly fresh edge while subtlety yet powerfully drawing upon the intriguing heart notes and the gravitating base notes. I normally have issue with anything that comes across somewhat synthetic, but Boss Orange actually makes the synthetic aspect shine in a positive way that enhances the fragrance. A very masculine and still classy scent. Highly recommended.

Hugo Boss Orange for Men was a catalyst for my fragrance obsession and collection. I purchased Boss Bottled after receiving Boss orange and I can say there are some very similar notes yet it is a very different scent. I would say that Orange is a more smooth and subtle scent than Boss Bottled and as versatile as Orange is, it's definitely reserved, in my opinion, for formal occasions. Sillage and longevity are great, a noticeable and inoffensive scent (if applied correctly as cloying is quite easy on my skin) making it suitable for intimate events. Reasonably priced as well! :) Overall 9/10

It's been totally reformulated and renamed to Boss Man and has a new bottle design. It's now apple, wood, vanilla and frankincense. Personally, I prefer the new formulation and design, as the old one was quite weak and seemed pretty cheap looking too. This new stuff is my daily driver for the colder months and I've even had compliments whilst wearing it after a good few hours, so it is a win-win with a stronger concentration despite being an EdT. Probably the only good reformulation of the decade. Very impressed with Boss on this one as ive quite a few from their various lines.

I really like this scent. It starts with a strong citrus which I presume is the red apple but smells more like orange ( this may just be me being influenced by the title of the scent). After an hour or so it settles into a very warm vanilla with woody undertones. The projection is ok but not great and you'd probably be looking at a 3-4 hour longevity which is fairly standard for an eau de toilette. For me this is a perfect cold weather daytime fragrance. It gives all the necessary warmth, but unlike many similar scents it is not overpowering. I'd definitely recommend it.

Boss Orange refers to a line of apparel and accessories not a scent... This is a casual, sweet, comfortable, vanilla scent. I think this is a three season fragrance - Fall, Winter and Spring. The photo above doesn't show you the chrome horseshoe that goes under the bottle and up both sides. This bottle is beautiful and stands out among other bottles in the collection. The sprayer itself is so-so. I use two sprays of this, compared to three sprays on average for most things I wear. This is a winner.

A nice fragrance for spring or fall. It has good sillage and people seem to love this fragrance. I've read a lot of comments on Fragrantica saying that it's "synthetic" smelling, but i disagree, it doesn't smell synthetic, there are other fragrances that deserve to be called synthetic but definitely not this one. The apple and vanilla come through the most, so it has a nice freshness at first but gets a bit more sweet when it drys down. Not the most unique, but it's great for casual hangouts.

Simply great! I can't remember the last time I had a scent that I would want to wear 24/7. I was also confused by the name as it has zero orange smell but I love the apple and vanilla combo. Since my top favorite is Gaultier 2 which is vanilliscious this one appeals to me greatly. One of the great qualities of this scent is that I can sense it on me unlike some other favorites I get noseblindness from. Great sillage, above average longevity. Buy!

Ok y’all they changed the name to boss man, “orange” is gone. Does not smell like bananas on my skin. For me almost a dr. Pepper smell in the opening. But then pepper itself comes in and spices it up. As it dries down it becomes a little sweeter, but not over done. Anyway for me this is not a bad fragrance I feel you could wear this anytime, anywhere. It leans a little more unisex at the dry down, but the opening is more masculine.

The first time I smelled it I felt in love with its fragrance. I dont know why, and believe me I have read the notes but I feel some tangerine note that makes me love it even more. I also feel the sensual vanilla and the woods, but not the orange described here. This perfume is for someone younger than 50, I can use it day or night and in any season. To be honest is the first Boss creation I have enjoyed. A must I might say!

This is a great and natural fragrance, no synthetic at all. It reminds me a lot Hugo Boss dark blue. I find it very warm, sexy, casual and with good performance at a low price. In the jungle of stupid hyped fragrances I am happy that people still underrate such gems...go on guys wearing on your skin the advertising campaigns. I rate this parfum 8/10. I love it and I have many fragrances in my collection. This is a cool one.

Very fresh and clean fragrance with strong woody notes. The incense is prominent, but it is not sharp, it is well rounded and blended into other ingredients. The apple in this one isn't very straight forward and it works with other notes to, at least to my nose, smell more like a creamy orange. It is not fruity at all. Unfortunately, longevity isn't so good - 3 or 4 hours at max.

This is an exceptional fragrance, in my opinion. I first noticed it on a coworker and was wowed by the rich, warm, spicy fragrance. Very masculine. No question about it. It projects and lasts all day. Powerful stuff and a delight to the nose. Warm, spicy, woodsy. In short, everything you could want in a gentlemen's fragrance. I bought some right away and I'm just loving it.

This perfume opens up with a lovely fruit smell, although I don't smell it as apple (or any other specific piece of fruit for that matter). In the background I can discern some incense. During the drydown, the vanilla becomes more and more apparent, until the scent becomes "vanilla incense in a wooden room" with a fruity touch. Gorgeous!

I'm currently using this as a weekend special and I love it more and more each time I smell it. Longevity is awesome as it lasts very long on my skin and I can even trace hints of it on my clothing after a wash. Sillage is also good as my wife always seems to catch whiffs of it from time to time and will compliment the fragrance.

This is an awesome fragrance!!Great scent plus it stays in your clothes for days if you don't wash em!! You will still smell traces of it even after washing them. Even though it stays close to the skin, it lasts very long. 8-10 hours. Projection is quite good. Scent : 8.5/10 Sillage : 7/10 Longevity : 10/10 I love it!

When I wanna feel great but all the while comfortable and cozy this is my go to frag. Sweet slight orangey opening transforms into a lovely "je ne sais quoi". Very, very attractive to the opposite sex, no matter what age. Projection and longevity are just right on my skin. A sure compliment getter!

I love it, it smells sooo nice on guys if they can carry vanilla scents well, on some guys it may be too sweet depending on their body chemistry, but I love the woodsy scent combined with the sweet apple and incense. It can be unisex as well, I like it much better than the women's version.

I like this fragance from Boss (I'm not a fan from this house...) Smells good with a good longevity (7-8 hours) and moderate projection. Well blanded the vanilla with red apple. It has a good price too. To me is the best from Hugo Boss. Scent: 6.5/10 Longevity: 7/10 sillage: 6/10

performs well, and smells relaxing, the vanilla has a bold statement here. i love the smell and the theme for this one, free spirited and easy! best for indoor and somehow did well in a humid climate. Great but not groundbreaking. 8.8/10 my girlfriend really love this one

-this is the bomb. im getting like 8-9 hrs on this. around hr 7, it sits closer to the skin but thats cool wit me cause im use to some doin that around the 3rd hr thats much more expensive than this one. i got this one off ebay for 26.99 for a 100 ml tester

It's a very pleasant scent and instantly changing my mood to feel joy and happy Thanks Boss for this ,the only drawback is it's silage which is need to be improved ,but all in all i will buy it again when near to be finished

Usually i reach for this scent when i wear suit or shirt with a tie. In my opinion it just works really well when Your clothing needs to be formal. Smell: 8/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 5/10 My overall rating: 7/10

Its my father signature scent and whenever i hear the words “boss” and “man” this fragrance comes to my mind, really really really underrated fragrance and for its price it should be in everyone’s collection.

this is a light,clean,and a little sexy fragrance for men. even is light but i still can smell the scent after the whole day work. Just bought this as my collection, great bottle design,great smell.

very masculine and fresh at the same time so it is good for compliments but you will need around 8 sprays to get compliments, a bit synthetic overall but not bad at all, 8/10 for the price.

You can easily smell the oranges here Especially the orange blossom it’s prominent in the scent Really refreshing and different I dare say this one is better than Hermes eu de orange verte

Feels young and fresh. I get compliments every time I wear it. I usually use it when I go out clubbing or going out for dinner with my family. Will definitely buy another bottle.

for me this smells perfect! the freshness, the spiciness and sweetness. at first sniff it is versace eau fraiche to me then the drydown is a light hugo boss bottled.

It's as if Clinique Happy had grown into a sophisticated young adult who still retained a slight hint of his infantile cheerfulness. Gorgeous scent.

On my husband is dreamy, creamy and masculine. Yum in a bottle...he wants it, he wears this and draws me like a moth to a flame..sex bottled.
