BOSS The Collection Silk & Jasmine

Finally I pulled the trigger and blind bought silk & jasmine. I needed some wearings to get used to it. Its a very different fragrance. The smell is like nothing I have tried before. The notes are easy to pick up: the jasmine, cloves and honey. Some vanilla, but very quiet. The fragrance is very subtle on my skin. Very soft and peaceful. This become one of the scents which I use in contexts when I dont want the parfume to be loud, but still want to smell good, like in a classroom. Similar use as molecule 01. Tips! Silk and jasmin is very good layering with molecule 01. The notes are getting brighter, especially the jasmine become more prominent and yummy! The soft flowers and honey get a woody base that suits this fragrance very well. Some men says its too feminin for them, and I also heard a woman said that it was too masculin for her. This is subjective, but imo its very unisex. All have their personal preferences, but to my nose silk and jasmine would not be strange to smell on either a man or woman. The scent is a bit mysterious. Gives me the image of a black tropical night with a bright full moon and billions of stars. The full moon enlighten a green jasmine tree and the white flowers are dancing in the subtle breeze. You get a feeling of inner peace. You look up on the stars and wonder whats up there. Very unique offering charcterized by a inviting smell and very (!) soft subtle (I guess better word should be "silky") texture. Got a love from me. Edit: I love this more and more each wearing. And I sometimes perceive the fragrance differently. Sometimes honey is the main player, other times its like another review said like a fresh cut apple. And most of the time the jasmine is the star. I love jasmine when its done right in mens fragrances. Hugo Boss nailed it, but Amouage is another example with their amazing Reflection man.

First Impression Does anyone here know who is the nose, is that Bertrand Duchaufour? From what I can tell and what I've learn, Silk & Jasmine just does link Penhaligon's Sartorial to Amouage Jubilation XXV Man , or vice versa. Similar evidences also can be seen in Velvet Ambre for bridging Dzongkha and Sartorial to a tabacco-amber combo, as well as Damask Oud for brigding LAP Al Oudh and something I do not know... I will try it more to get a further review, but at least, as far as I have already known, Silk Jasmine is a balsamic fougere in the nuance of metallic vibe, and surely interesting and creative! --------- Update: Sep, 2025 Don't let the name Silk & Jasmine mislead you. This fragrance from the Hugo Boss Collection is less of a floral scent and much more of a typical fougère. The scent profile here is quite interesting; while it initially feels strikingly close to the iconic Penhaligon's Sartorial , a deeper look reveals a more nuanced position. It successfully captures the core ambiance of aromatic lavender and steamed fabrics, but replaces the sharp, metallic note of Sartorial with a soft layer of vanilla. This shift in detail moves the fragrance's character away from Sartorial's "workshop" and towards something more comfortable. If Sartorial (2010) is a fougère of hot irons and crisp textiles that is on the left , and MDCI's Invasion Barbare (2005) —another fougere in the genre—that is on the right , then Silk & Jasmine lands squarely in their middle(-left) spectrum: a simpler, more direct hybrid of the two. The key takeaway, however, is the price. When found at a clearance price, it is significantly more affordable than the other two. Rating: 7-7.5/10

Excellent fragrance for the more discerning man. Love the sweetness and gentleness of this fragrance. (Silk and Jasmin is sweet but not cloying.) Although it's in the name this is less floral and more amber warm. The honey is light and it's deliciously perfect. If only it lasted longer and projected better. Fragrantica has claimed the 'warm spicy' accord to this. Maybe they meant warm. Maybe because clove is one of the notes although I get no clove at all from this perfume. It's definitely not spicy in any way, shape or form. I agree that this is linear but the dry down does remind me of Van Cleef and Arpels Ambre Imperial's dry down but much lighter and a touch sweeter. I would have to rate it 5/10 (half way there) but still love it like it's a 9/10 gem. My only 2 cons are: 1. the clove note is near non-existent. (I love the smell of cloves. It's why I love M.Micallef's Gaiac so much.) 2. longevity and sillage are disappointing for such an expensive fragrance.

I have tried this and it was instant love, it does remind me about L'Instant de Guerlain for woman, but people, this is one of the most beautiful and soft smell that I have ever encountered. It's really delicious, smells like a fresh cut apple mixt with a cream made from jasmine and honey, it has a comforting and calming effect. It is a perfume with taste and is for somebody who don't really want to get attention. Good perfomance too! Hugo Boss Collection - Silk & Jasmine can be described as simple, soft, creamy, silky! For a man with good taste and good manners. I give a 8.5 out of 10

A wearable, elegant scent, warm, well rounded, ‘dusty’, and sophisticated. There is a languid creaminess of jasmine - not indolic. A restrained smokeyness of honey - not sweet. Pretty darn perfect. Sexy and relaxed on a woman. A scent that makes you want to get-close to class and intelligence. On the right man, it might drive nearby hormones through the roof. Wish my bottle was twice the size. Love.
