It doesn't arrive. It occupies. There's no bright citrus handshake, no designer pleasantry. On skin, it doesn't explode — it settles. Rich, controlled, deliberate. The spice hits first, and it's not the usual polished kind. This is sharper. Red-hot pimento with something almost tactile about it — a flicker of heat that feels less like a fragrance and more like a decision someone made before they even walked through the door. Then it breathes. The spice softens into lavandin — but don't think floral. It's deeper than that. Pressed fabric, crisp but warm from being worn. In cold air, it's a masterpiece of composure. In heat, or with a heavy hand on application, it starts to feel suffocating. It needs space to breathe. Without it, it stops being magnetic and starts being a lot. This one rewards restraint. It's seductive, but it's not playing. There's a maturity to it — not age exactly, more like lived-in experience. The scent of someone who knows exactly where they're going and isn't in any rush to get there. You don't remember when he left. Just that the scent stayed longer than he did. Hours later, it's still there — quiet, persistent, unresolved. Which makes me wonder — was it ever really about him? The base of Boss Bottled is very different from that of Boss The Scent. They are two brothers, each with their own personality, and each with their own flankers for different occasions. I'm a huge fan of Boss The Scent For Him, the entire line, all the flankers, nine of them now. I wouldn't want to miss any of them. Unique in the sense that you have to be here for the Maninka note. And nothing smells like this. Bruno Jovanovic, Pascal Gaurin, Jacques Huclier, Nelly Hachem-Ruiz, Delphine Lebeau, fantastic, highly original, and incredibly delicious. My thanks. And if you don't care for that note, then this is a passé. I only have one complaint, and that's the new refillable bottle! Whoever came up with this, the big mess could start, and future generations will never be able to determine with certainty that the fragrance is original. Ik ben groot fan van Boss The Scent For Him, de hele lijn, alle flankers, inmiddels 9. Ik zou er geen willen missen. Uniek in die zin dat je voor de Maninka noot hier moet wezen. En heb je niets met die noot, dan is dit een gepasseerd station. Ik heb maar een klacht en dat is de nieuwe fles die hervulbaar is ! Wie verzint dit, kan het grote knoeien beginnen en is voor toekomstige generaties nooit meer met zekerheid vast te stellen dat de geur origineel is. Ik heb mijn flessen voorraad veilig, dat je het weet.

I love this fragrance. The more I wore it the more I appreciated it. It's warm spicy fruity and the perfect amount of woody . It's smooth and velvety. At first you get a red pepper , fruity sweet scent . As the lavender comes on it does start getting a little powdery. I get ground cinnamon tossed in powder out of it with some slight sweetness. Once it has totally dried and settles on to the skin the sandalwood comes in so smooth and almost creamy . Once you get to that stage you get the red pepper back . You get light freshly chopped red pepper with a mellow lavender all riding the very smooth sandalwood with a warm sweetness all around . It almost smells like the sweetness is coming out of the sandalwood. I like how this fragrance slowly matures . Most fragrances in like 20 minutes you smell every layer. This one is going to give you about 4 layers in like an hour. It might be a little linear but it sooo works for this. This stuff is strong ! 3 sprays is enough with this. With 3 sprays all on my skin I was able to catch whiffs of this easily 4 hours later . At about 6 hours could still smell that it's there. It doesn't turn into something you need to smash your nose into until about 9 hours later . Good sillage , a good 5 or 6 feet. It will project strong for the first 2 hours . It is a very versatile evening fragrance as far as occasion. Season, I just wouldn't wear it on a hot night . But it works for just about any season but summer. It would also work on a cold winter day . Just be careful with how much you apply. The bottle is heavy and feels very well made , the atomizer is solid as well. This is my third in the scent line. The original EDT is one of my favourite evening scents and seems to really fly under the radar because there's not much hype train about it, but trust me, it's such a great warm cosy option. It's also exceptional value for what you get. Because it's sweet side, it won't be for everyone. I got the EDP and hated it, a note in it reacted badly and had to scrub it off! This one I had as a sample and it's much closer to the original than the parfum version, in that I don't get that unpleasant note. This one is just like the original, but heavier and more spicy, which I guess is understandable for the elixir. If you wanted a bad comparison it's like PDM Layton and Altaire - both have lots of similarities but Althair is more on the spicy aromatic side. This is sort of like that, obviously smells nothing like PDM though. Here's a neat trick I discovered. If you layer this with the OG, it really works great. You get the baked cookies sweetness and lightness of the OG, which is missing from the Elixir combined with the darker heavier spicy note when you apply the elixir on the base and layer the OG over it, especially if you let the elixir dry down a bit. This is now my favourite way of wearing "the scent" - elixir first, then a couple of hours later spritz the OG. Two 50 ml bottles of each will still be less than many house names 100ml bottles. If you've already got one, get a sample decant of the other and try it!

This is, in my opinion, what the spicebomb infrared lineup WISHES it was. This is great stuff! Potent, long lasting and it smells fantastic. It is unmistakably a 'Boss The Scent' flanker, and I could swear there is maninka in this despite the note breakdown not listing it. Either way, it does bear a similarity to Magnetic, but I also find it reminiscent to 1M Royal. I'm wearing it on a warm, humid day, transitioning from the A/C to outside and back. It is not cloying at all. I do think this shines more in cooler weather, but it works well in moderate heat and humidity if you don't overspray. It is peppery, lavender-y, and the sandalwood gives it this smooth, dusty, almost powdery drydown that is absolutely fantastic. That's the most important part, IMHO, since that's what you smell the most anyway. Come for the opening, enjoy the mid, and stay for the (long lasting) drydown. This stuff rocks. Edit: Wearing this today, two sprays. Insane performance. This is one truly great all-around performer. And it just smells freakin' awesome. There's a tart 'fruitiness' to the spice in the mid that is just awesome. But this and other Hugo Boss offerings will never top anyone's youtube lists because they aren't 'hyped'. They'd rather complain about the poor performance of their chanels or versaces. lol. I love this stuff. TRUE beastmode, this one.
