#004 Lifeguard

Opens with a clear calone, with minimal bergamot, then you can quickly detect the ambroxan note, being subdued by the hedione, with a cardamom bias. So far, it comes off as an amber-dirty, aquatic frag. Iso E is pretty hard for me to detect on its own as it is, but it’s reinforced by the faint labdanum and olibanum, which aren’t too prominent but help ground the ambroxan-hedione concoction in a woody direction. The woody bias is not prominent at all, but it’s just a steer to it that you can feel when smelling this. The profile is decidedly still the same, just with the faint woodsy accords, and IMO, comes off as a clean aquatic fragrance even though clearly the calone has worn off. The rest of the notes aforementioned help provide a sense of continuity and harmony, asserting the initial impression of the frag—an art form that’s expected from this house. Captivating profile for sure, and it’s really tugging my senses to get a FB, but personally for me it definitely could use a punching element. The profile itself is pretty calm and collected, and doesn’t yell, but regardless, not quite FBW for me.

Opens fresh and light. Perhaps a little less aquatic and a little more... floral? than expected. There is a little bit of sweetness, and as time passes that note becomes more prominent. After a while this was almost a light vanilla scent on my skin.

Opens like hand sanitizer and then becomes this like chlorine floral fragrance, it’s a pretty cool aquatic and I can imagine wearing this on a hot day! 7.5/10 fs
