Miele Rosa

Powdery rose. Very powdery, but in a good way. I didn't get much honey in the opening but there is a bit of orange blossom in there. Just a tad. After it warms up the pollen and honey come out. It's very pleasant. A lovely scent. It wears very close to the skin and lasts about 6 hours.

I wanted to try Miele because I saw 'rose and honey' and instantly thought 'Rose Barbare'. I was wondering if there would be similarities between the two, and well...no. Miele is one you cannot sniff on paper, your wrist, or even a patch of skin. It's too harsh and sandpaper grating for this. Miele must be put on the slow burner (your décolleté) and given an hour to warm up. Then it becomes a soft, rounded out 'white rose' with a strong wrapping of pollen. (If you've ever tried bee pollen you know what I mean, I ate this at breakfast when growing up in Minnesota) I've seen some references to 'bed sheet smells' and 'naughty scents', but since i have Bal a Versailles under my belt I don't buy it. I do think this leans on the 'mature' side, to be worn with a tailored suit or your Sunday best. I'll circle back to this one because I've never smelled a rose quite like this, and at this point can't say one way or the other if its a buy.
