Tarbouch Afandi

This is a blind buy for me. I was a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on this one, since it contains animalic notes, which sometimes dont sit well with my skin. But I decided to give it a go, and I have no regret at all. Tarbouch Afandi for me is more on the aromatic side than animalic. The animalic note comes upfront buat it is not barnyardish nor skanky. It is there to give a vintage vibe for Afandi. Consider Chanel No. 5 that is made for guy. It is elegant, classy, it could be something niche from Aramis line. That is as far as the animalic note goes. The next thing I know, I feel like I'm in the forest after the rain. The smell of violet leaf, then pine trees after the rain, mixes up with the smell of patchouli and cedar wood, creating the mystifying vibe that resided somewhere within my memory. This is a unisex leaning masculine fougere, but can still be pulled by a mature woman. Yes this is a mature scent, a scent that procures the picture of financially-stable people, wise, humble and yet sophisticated. Good longevity with moderate silage and projection.

Mmm...interesting. Not as masculine or animal as I was expecting. I first noted the tobacco, generic animal note then resin and citrus. Why do I keep thinking of my cat. Yep there is definitely some cat fur thing going on in here. The violet leaf cuts through all the other notes. It keeps a brightness and intensity amongst all that resinous, herbally smoky fur. You know I never expected to like this but the more I sniff the more it grows to love. I'm comfortable wearing almost masculine scents and this is one of those borderline masculine scents. I think it has enough sweet citrus and resin though to soften it enough to be unisex. If you want a sexy scent that makes you want to purr then try this. I think my oh would have to fight me off if he wore this 😁 Good longevity and sillage in this chilly room.

I genuinely enjoyed this one but unfortunately it didn't last too long on me. This seems to be only an issue with me, so I'm not really concerned as I did enjoy what I could smell for the amount of time I could smell it. It opened with a really animalic musk note in the opening then dried down to a soft patchouli and spicy tobacco. The violet leaf was there from the start and was really an unusual but well thought out addition. It so comforting to fall asleep in.

This is a masculine tobacco fougere type of fragrance. The tobacco is more of a lighter green tobacco that blends very well with the spices. This is downright beautiful!!! I'm thinking this is a signature scent. 9 out of 10 Highly Recommended

I have visited Beirut, Tarbouch Afandi expresses amazingly the energy of this city. It is 100% unisex with a perfect mix of mandarine and tobacco note.

This is really impressive. I get the pine and familiarity to botegga Veneta pour homme but with a slightly animalic vibe. A love for me.

I had not seen a real tobacco perfume in a very long time. This is a very good one, and the mix with the mandarine is gorgeous

I can appreciate the juxtaposition of violet leaf (methyl octine carbonate style, similar to Fahrenheit) with a furry, animalic accord here. There are also ionones suggesting violet flower as well. I also nod approvingly at the blonde tobacco and light patchouli in its base. It's nice. However, I feel far more fulfilled by other frags in a similar vein like Ulrich Lang Aperture and Rodin Bis.

I remembered having tried this one at Pitti Fragranze in Florence and I liked it a lot and now, after a few sprays from a sample, I confirm my impressions: fruity beginning, flowery hint in the middle and a smart end of musk and a very light tobacco. Definitely my cup of tea, and the development from top to bottom is well done. I really like it, it's a very elegant modern fragance.

Tarbouch Afandi is a leather and tobacco fragrance, sort of in the vein of something like Bottega Veneta Pour Homme. Tarbouch Afandi features a big dollop of unspecified "animal notes." It definitely has a growl, and reads as an almost spicy, oud-y touch on a more traditional fragrance structure. The more I wore it, the more I liked it!

If you like Mancera Wind Wood, you should also like this - certainly not identical, but very similar dna. Very smooth and a great wear.
