Musc Bleu Eau de Parfum

I finally got around to trying my little sample of this, and I’m so glad I did - this is an unusual, but rather nice one. It’s a very soft, clean musk and the longevity is frankly astonishing. I got well over 12 hours from this. It’s not overpowering, rather I just got lovely soft wafts of this throughout the day and night. It’s very much a skin scent on me. I’m going to try layering this with some of my other scents, as I think it would pair well with perhaps a vanilla or a soft floral. Quite lovely on its own though, and I can see why people love it. Seriously considering a full bottle.

Easily my favorite musk. Soft, clean white musk. I can't think of anything similar, mainly because the ingredients in Musc Bleu are natural and high quality. If I was forced to compare, Musc Bleu is closer related to Solinotes Musc and not so close to Glossier You. There are no sharp edges in MB, as compared to the screeching halt that ends GY. Lovely!

A low projecting, clean white musk scent suitable for warm weather and close encounters. Inoffensive and unremarkable, but also an easy reach as the florals lend sweetness and allows this perfume to lean feminine. One of the last from my Il Profvmo discovery box, and I’m surprised that I’m the first to review Musc Bleu.

Just a little review to share that MUSC BLEU at first when applied to skin smells like cool clean clear tap water from a kitchen faucet with a hint of sheer musk. It has this very subtle clear water metallic accord that you get when you smell tap water or water from a stream. HOWEVER(!) when MUSC BLEU dries down after about 1 hour, the scent completely transforms and smells, to my nose, exactly like EGYPTIAN MUSK! What an unexpected transformation... It's almost as though MUSC BLEU starts off smelling like a cool sheer metallic musk similar to ESSENCE by Narciso Rodriguez or ESSENCE EAU DE MUSK. And then, after it completely dries down, it smells very similar to EGYPTIAN MUSK perfume oil such as the EGYPTIAN MUSK by Kuumba Made or EGYPTIAN MUSK by Nemat or even MISSING PERSON perfume by PHLUR - which to me smells also like egyptian musk. MUSC BLEU is a skin scent that sits very close to the skin.

As you might expect from the name, Musc Bleu begins with a fresh and slightly watery opening, before heading into its more musky and floral heart notes. It gets slightly woodier in the final drydown, but this is basically *just* a white musk scent. It will remind you of a million other "white musks," but I like this one for its cheery brightness and natural, herbal Italian sensibility. Both projection and longevity are VERY good. I would buy this in a heartbeat if it was $50. But it's certainly not worth going out of your way to find it, or spending big bucks to get it.

Smells faintly like some kind of nail polish. Leans more feminine to my nose.
