Some truly scathing reviews on here so far, so I feel inclined to chime in. My two cents: Having tried almost all of IA's offerings (bar Sundrunk and Falling Into The Sea), I must say Decisions, Decisions is the first love for me from the house. I was going to neglect this release given that tuberose is one of my least favorite notes and that most IA releases have not worked for me so far, but this is stunning. The first tuberose that I truly enjoy wearing. It has an earthiness and sweetness (not unlike Dr. Pepper) reminiscent of American soda fountains, hot lawns, and dirt. Sweet suspense indeed! To be clear, the tuberose is the most prominent note, but it never reaches the sickly, stuffy territory that usually repels me immediately, it pushes the note into modern terrain. I can't get enough of this one! Definitely a full bottle in my future. As for the politics of this release: I implore you to name another house that has used their brand, let alone created a launch, to give back tangibly (beyond a performative Instagram post). I completely disagree with the "no effort" comment, as I believe this to be IA's best, and most natural smelling release (as opposed to the synthetic impression of some of their others) while still retaining their DNA.

I admit that I blindbought this perfume based on the notes on their press release, which should classify Decisions Decisions into fruity floral category. And I was intrigued by the sarsaparilla note, which has the same vibe as rootbeer. But when I tried it, I couldn't be more wrong hahahaha..... For you who expects this to be a white floral treat, you will be utterly disappointed, because it is not about tuberose and jasmine. For me the most prominent notes are labdanum and geranium, while the flowers are there only to give a touch of sweetness to the dark, smoky and resinous concoction. Decisions Decisions has a vintage oriental feeling, a bit medicinal. Strange enough, I find it within the same vibe as chinese medicine oil Shen Nong Shi Die Da Yao Jing. Some might compare it to entering a chinese traditional drug store where they still use roots, leaves, woods as medicine. Hence, yes, it's not a mass pleaser scent. Definitely try before you buy. But when you get pass the fruity floral expectation, this is a sexy and alluring scent which is best worn in the evening. It has moderate silage and good longevity compared to other offerings from this house.

Initial spray, pickle juice. A harsh, straight to the nose sourness. Then I smell the same patchouli undertone as in Mardi Gras by Olympic Orchids, this fragrance is actually very similar to MG by OO – spice undertone, balsamic, deepness and mystery, very lightly sweet, which surprises me considering all the reviews saying that Decisions, Decisions is a very sweet scent. Sometimes I wonder whether I receive the correct samples. This fragrance has no white floral notes to me, even after dry down. Thirty minutes in, the fragrance becomes delicately sweet, a hint of leather or incense appears and the sour punch from the first spray is gone. Imaginary Authors fragrances are usually unique and complex, but I am quite disappointed with this one – I would never have guessed it is a IA perfume.

Decisions is an exotic floral spicy fragrance that begins with note of a herbal, slightly spicy clove reminding me of iconic Musc Ravageur but instead of going in gourmand territory, its reins are turned towards exotic floral reminiscent of Walimah. Scent turns powdery as it dries down with ever present dusty/earthy note which can be found in almost all IA fragrances. Even though this predominantly floral fragrance, it never turns feminine. That does not mean our beautiful women can't wear it. This Scent deserves the love its not getting, either in our community or on fragrantica. Performance might not be beast but its good enough to last 5-6 hours with moderate projection at half of arm's length. It definitely falls into upper echelon of Niche Fragrances with an easy wearability.

I was given a small bottle of this perfume, and it recently broke during a move. I cannot stop thinking about it. It covered my hands as I was cleaning up the glass mess, and I immediately went to order a full size bottle. Imagine my surprise to find it was a limited release. I am devastated. It smells like amber incense with an almost root beer undertone. Sweet, but not sickeningly or cloyingly sweet. I hope they bring it back.

One of my favorite houses is Imaginary Authors. I just was lucky to obtain a travel size of this discontinued fragrance and I love it! I love the tuberose and labdanum which creates this woody scent on me. As all IA this lasts very long time on me and sillage is awesome. I definitely will be buying more from this house. Imaginary Authors PLEASE bring this back, it’s amazing! HIghly recommended 20/10 that good!

I love this scent. Just went and bought another bottle as I am so loving it and hate the thought that it will be unavailable when I run out. I don’t like the initial slight raspberry floral but that dies down very quickly to a beautiful woody cedar like scent that smells like a raw wood sauna, warm and inviting. I get lots of comments when wearing it, people often think it is sandalwood.

Something familiar. That was my first thought. Without looking at the notes I thought “deep amber”. Yes there’s sweetness here but it is natural and oh so yummy; a beautiful white floral with honey. Reminds me of a hippie bookstore. I think this would make a great incense smell. I love it,

It's such a unique scent! The tuberose plays along nicely with the sarsaparilla. The raspberry and woody notes works well. It smells medicinal and ancient. I could wear this all the time. However, the scent can easily become overpowering if you apply too much but dries down nicely.

Lots of sarsaparilla, lots of tuberose, lots of labdanum. It’s a very unique, and sweet fragrance. It smells like drinking a root beer next to lit incense. It was good enough I had to buy several bottles since it was a limited release. I don’t want to be without this fragrance.

The opening of this is a bit challenging and different, maybe that is the Sarsaparilla note. the drydown of this is one of the most beautiful labdanums I have ever smelled. With a hint of tuberose. Too sweet for me to wear, but I would love it on a woman.

I love it. The sarsparilla note isn't overly sweet, and the dry, dusty DNA that makes some of IA's offerings more niche isn't here. DD is a smooth, mass-appealing fragrance that I hope sticks around.

SWEET SWEET bubblegum tuberose. slightly fruity, ambery labdanam base. Very nice.

The very latest release from Imaginary Authors is the limited edition Decisions, Decisions, and it’s a subtle, sultry, floral, sweet mix featuring tuberose and sarsaparilla, with supporting notes of labdanum, raspberry, geranium, jasmine sambac, and the imaginary note of sweet suspense. There’s a syrupy quality to it, likely due to the sarsaparilla—vaguely boozy, even—that operates harmoniously with the florals and resins, fostering a rather seamless blend. It feels well-rounded, not audaciously loud but craftily put together, with restraint. And it’s not too sweet, but just the right amount of sweet to prevent the fragrance from being floral-dominant in a powdery or sharp way. The “sweet and floral” summary means, for many, myself included, that it feels feminine-leaning, but it’s really unisex, enjoyable, and versatile, as it feels perfectly appropriate on a winter day but does not like seem like it would be out of place in warmer weather, either. I like Decisions, Decisions as a different sort of offering from the last few, more subdued, subtle. The most recent releases—A Whiff of Wafflecone, Telegrama, Whispered Myths, and O, Unknown—have each been a bit louder, so I like the change of pace with this release, and I imagine others might, as well. It is available at the standard pricing of $95 for 50ml (with a travel size of $38 for 14ml) and is sold directly via the IA website as well as great boutiques like Perfumology. 7 out of 10

It seems my opinion on this fragrance has shifted dramatically over the last year or so. Used sparingly, Decisions, Decisions shines in the colder months of the year, a climate that can tame a lot of the bubble-gummy and overly sweet aspects of the fragrance. This lends to a more resinous and herbal-medicinal scent, with the white floral still quite apparent, but not quite in the "foreground". One of my two favorites from the brand - really glad that I got a full bottle of this limited release. 8/10

Due to the sarsaparilla and raspberry this perfume starts with a very gung-ho floral/fruity rootbeer scent, which is exceedingly bright, sweet, and 'fizzy'. It eventually becomes a honeyed bubblegum and resinous floral scent. Intriguing, but way too sweet for me, and even possibly too sweet for many feminine fragheads. 6.5/10

Sticky resinous scent with sweet honeycomb undertones. For me it doesn’t smell very wearable haha It’s smell somewhat edible (like a real honeycomb) with some dark medicinal vibes and a bit of cigarette smoke. What a weird one! First, I smelled the nozzle and thought, that's both off-putting and intriguing. Upon spraying, the vibe is simultaneously fizzy AND thick, like a raspberry soda dropped on a dizzying nosegay of white flowers and left outside to dry on the pavement while bees buzz around it. Sweet. Bitter. Deep. Sticky. Green. Divisive. Someone at work who's quite sensitive to my fragrances is out this week on vacation so I am strutting my deep stash and this one's the oddest one yet. What I dig about scents like this and vintage Todd Oldham, et al, is that no one else is likely to be sporting them. Go for it.

A tuberose droped in honey, coated in sugar but with an animalic undertone (labdanum). very similar to the also very good Mardi Gras (Olympic Orchids) but less sweet and a bit more refreshed by the geranium. if you like your flower very provocative and full of undertones...

This is definitely a strange one... Decisions, Decisions is different than any fragrance I have ever smelled. I give IA points for innovation, but, it's not something I would personally wear or purchase. My nose gets a piece of chewed-up bubble gum floating in the remnants of someone's warm, flat, root beer (not what I want to smell like). I can also see what Robroads was saying about the head shop/incense vibe.

@ae49 It is very likely they are just using it to gain social justice points. And also BLM at this point is a joke and an insult to black people as they dont give a shit about black lives, they burn down their own neighbourhoods and community (hurting a lot of small black business owners). And the founders are trained marxists. Its a terrorist organisation and anyone supporting BLM is an idiot or just so indoctrinated in social justice politics that they will never be able to see it for what it is.

I was excited to rush out and sample this as it is a limited release. It was a "no buy" for me from the beginning all the way to the end which sadly is still with me. The root beer note is just strange. I never noticed the raspberry. The sweet suspense never arrived. The bottle isn't attractive, so bland and dull. Total miss. Downright horrible, possibly their worst release, but I haven't smelled the entire line, maybe half of it. Hands down the worst fragrance I smelled probably ever.

I wanted to love this because root beer is my favorite drink of all time, anticipating the sarsaparilla and the other releases by them that I love. This is so bad. There's a screeching sour note of old varnish of the disrepair and mildew variety, not stately old manor. Maybe there's some florals and sweetness that could've come in the dry down, I don't know because I had to scrub it off.

This smells like a disgusting sickly cocktail, after it’s been vomited up. I hope it fades off my arm quickly, because it’s easily the worst scent I’ve ever smelt. I cannot pick apart any florals or specific spices, just cheap rum and burnt sugar. It’s a pity, because a perfume created in support of BLM is a fantastic idea!! I just wish the scent itself was likeable.

IA is pushing out fragrances just to raise money for BLM while not putting any effort into the scent. If you're not going to put out a quality fragrance, don't.

So here. To the point Back in the day, and a little still, when you walked into a liquor store, head shop, hippy shop or incense shop this is what I smelled. Very very strong multi floral incense! People buying beer, tequila, black and milds, rolling papers, bongs, glass pipes etc. This was the smell of the weekend getting ready to happen. And if You asked about the smell, they'd point to a 4 foot hog of an incense. Burned for days. Party all night long. Wake up so thirsty and head back to the same shop for water, food and juice. The same dude was still there burning the same huge incense pointing you to the water. Those were the days. It got even worse in college!

Bubblegummy tuberose with a cozy amber base. I wouldn’t wear this as it would be an instant headache for me, but I find this kind of addicting. I thought there would be cloves because there’s just a hint of sweet spice, but it must be the geranium I’m smelling. For some reason the dry down really reminds me of a far less fruity and more restrained Amor, Amor.

At first I was in love, but upon testing again the white floral I initially smelled had turned into this odd, chewed up bubblegum scent. Disappointing. I do not want to smell like this, it doesn't check any boxes for me. Not uplifting, not elegant, not casual, I can't really imagine wearing this anywhere.

A nice spicy salty buttery caramel amber. A bit rosy & the heart has bubble-gummy tuberose. Late dry down reminds me of Jayne Ormonde Tolu mixed with Lutens Ambre Sultan. This might be one of my more favorite scents from IA. Has very good longevity was able to smell it on my arm the next day.

Woody tuberose and then more tuberose. Not a crazy sweet tuberose but definitely gummy. I guess this could be pleasant if you like a white floral with the dusty IA signature. Came as extra sample.

Juicy raspberry tangled with candied labdanum and loud florals that don’t shy away.

What can we do to get another release of this? I need it. I want it back so badly.
