First Peach of the Season

I have never added a sample to my cart so fast. Imaginary Authors is my favorite house, and I was so pumped to see this drop. I just got it, and... wow. It does not disappoint. This is certainly only my first impression as I have just now tried it. I wanted to be among the first to review! It reminds me very much of the juicy pear Jelly Beans, which are the best! The juicy peach is not a measly top note by any means, it does not die down quickly like many citruses might. It is sweet but tart, like a perfect peach. It is exciting, uplifting, but grounding and almost "warm"... but not in a way that would become too heavy in the hot weather. I just might have to buy a bottle if the performance is good. First impressions -- I am very impressed. Love it. A new favorite from IA for me.

Goddamn this is good. I didn't know peach could be a sexy scent but here we are. It's so juicy and realistic. Almost a skin scent but the lactonic elements elevate it a bit. It reminds me a lot of the "Pretty as Peach" bath and body works line but slightly more mature. I haven't done a full wear test yet, but even sitting here I'm surprised I can still smell it as I go nose-blind to peach quite easily (I had a huge peach phase back in the day). It develops into this interesting soapy "fresh out the shower" feel and I like that alot.

I got a sample of this perfume and I love it! To me it smells like a juicy, photo-realistic yellow peach, one that's almost on the verge of being overripe so when you take a bite out of it the juice dribbles down your chin. It also manages to capture that sort of musky, dusty scent of peach skin and peach fuzz, like when you pick up a ripe peach and smell it. I think this is a fantastic spring but especially summer perfume, and the full bottle of it is going on my wishlist for sure!

beautiful creamy peach, I kept smelling myself. faint but has a trajectory. super realistic peach scent, and the chantilly cream is prominent, creating a delicious profile. a skin note adds a subtle musk to the scent, blending it beautifully with the skin of the wearer. wish it lasted longer, but definitely projects more than the other IA scents. like swirling in a sundress under peach trees in sweltering humidity

I absolutely love this scent. Opens with a juicy peach, settles into a lovely lactonic note with a warm skin scent. To me, it smells like a new sunburn with the soft skin note. It's less sweet and candylike than most peach scents I've smelled. It's less gourmond and more animalic musk with a juicy, creamy peach layered on top.

I keep smelling the test strip and moaning. Sexy in a clean way. The white floral and benzoin remind me a little bit of Lush's Silky Underwear. Very clearly a "feminine" perfume but that makes it all the more alluring on a man.

I love this. To me, it smells like a photorealistic peach. Like, juicy, fresh peach. Doesn't smell synthetic, smells like a freshly squeezed peach juice, and would layer so well with other smells.

There’s an ease to it, a sense of warmth and discovery that feels both intimate and carefree, like moments that are as memorable as they are spontaneous. On paper, the blend of peach, bitter orange, chantilly cream, honeydew melon, jasmine, and benzoin reflects that tone beautifully, suggesting a fragrance that is juicy, softly sweet, and inviting, with just enough brightness to keep it feeling fresh and playful. It sets the expectation for something vibrant and indulgent without becoming heavy, capturing that balance between innocence and experience. Let’s take that first bite and see how it ripens once it meets the skin. Opening: The opening is fruity, sweet, and lactonic. The primary notes I get are peach, honeydew melon, bigarade, and chantilly cream, with the peach and honeydew leading. True to the name, the peach is the first note to greet my nose, coming across as juicy, sweet, and impressively realistic, with an almost fuzzy texture that mirrors the skin of an actual peach. It feels ripe and sun-warmed, immediately setting a playful and inviting tone. The honeydew melon, a more unexpected addition, joins alongside it with a softer, more refreshing fruitiness, adding a watery, green-tinged sweetness that feels just as natural and true to life. The bigarade, or bitter orange, cuts through that sweetness with a bright, slightly sharp citrus edge, bringing a subtle bitterness and rind-like quality that keeps the opening from becoming overly sugary. Lastly, the chantilly cream introduces an airy, lactonic creaminess that feels light and whipped rather than dense, adding a gentle and sweet gourmand touch that enhances the fruit without weighing it down. I also get hints of a warm, balsamic resin from the benzoin underneath, but it's situated firmly in the background. The result is an opening that feels vibrant, playful, and indulgent, like fresh fruit paired with a soft, creamy finish under warm sunlight. Dry Down: The dry down is fruity, sweet, and balsamic. The primary notes I get are peach, benzoin, chantilly cream, and jasmine, with the peach and benzoin leading. Performance: Projection opens very strong within the first hour, easily capable of filling a room and making an immediate presence. Sillage follows with a dense, sweet scent trail that carries the fruity and creamy facets clearly through the air. After about four hours, projection remains strong at around six feet, showing impressive consistency, while the scent trail is still easily noticeable and well-defined. As the fragrance moves into the later stages around the eight hour mark, projection settles to about three to four feet, and the scent trail softens but remains present. It transitions into a skin scent around the nine to ten hour mark, maintaining a soft, sweet warmth up close. Overall, this delivers strong performance with impressive longevity, especially for a fruit-forward composition. When to Wear: First Peach Of The Season is one of those fragrances that adapts well across multiple seasons due to how it evolves from opening to dry down. The bright, juicy fruitiness up top makes it feel right at home in spring and summer, especially during the daytime when that lively, sunlit character can really shine. As it settles, the fragrance becomes warmer and more enveloping, allowing it to transition comfortably into fall and winter evenings where the deeper sweetness feels more appropriate. It works naturally in casual settings, where its playful and inviting nature can come across effortlessly, but it also has enough presence to hold its own in more intentional settings like date nights or small gatherings. That said, it does not quite align with more formal environments, and its sweetness and character make it less suitable for office wear. Blind Buy: First Peach Of The Season is not a safe blind buy, and that largely comes down to how it presents on the gender spectrum. While it sits in a unisex category on paper, in practice it leans noticeably more feminine, especially as the sweeter and more floral elements come forward. At the same time, the way it leans on skin ultimately determines its place in my collection. For me, it comes across more feminine than I would typically reach for, even though I can appreciate how well it is constructed. Interestingly, it resonated strongly with my wife, who immediately connected with it and could see herself wearing it regularly. That contrast speaks to its versatility across different wearers, even if it does not fit my personal rotation. In any case, Imaginary Authors never fails to create fragrances that are truly works of art in their own regard, and First Peach of the Season is no exception. Ordered a sample of this as soon as it released, since I'll never ever miss a new peach release. Haven't had any experience with this house before so I really had no expectations, but the notes looked very promising to me. The initial tag team of the peach and honeydew come off as very juvenile and candy-like. Potentially an older and chalkier style of candy, although any specific name is escaping me. I think the jasmine is making it come off as a little minty, even. But as it dries down the Chantilly cream and warm amber is more noticeable. It's a cute, powdery, and flirty scent, but the salacious branding it debuted with made me anticipate a more 'lustful', nectary peach. Unfortunately this is not something I would wear to be 'devoured', it retains a peach skin note and perhaps the florals keep it from reading as a true juicy peach to me, so it's a very springtime fruity floral which hasn't quiiite reached its ripe ideal. I hardly ever see two amazing fruit notes such as these in conjunction with each other so I find my sample purchase justified if not just for the spectacle. It's light and refreshing, but not something I would put on to enchant others, and I find other peaches better at doing what this fragrance wants to do. At the very least I appreciate the effort put into the whole storytelling gimmick, but nonetheless definitely sample this one first before anything else.

Sampling the latest release from Imaginary Authors, First Peach of the Season, a sort of nuanced fruit salad medley led, of course, by peach, the house’s first fragrance to feature a prominent peach note, from what I can recall. It’s fruity but also a bit nectary and floral, infused with the other contributory notes of Chantilly cream, jasmine lactone, honeydew melon, and bigarade. There are creamy and tart qualities that round out the fruity aspect. It certainly feels loud, announcing itself proudly. I generally find peach to be a challenging note to enjoy in perfumery but unsurprisingly find it to be well-executed in this Josh Meyer creation. I’ll have to give it some more thought, myself, but I think peach fans especially should rejoice at this new creation, a nice spring/summer option to complement others in the line like Saint Julep, Sundrunk, and Every Storm a Serenade. As with the rest of the house, this is EDP concentration and priced at $115 for 50ml, sold in the US via the house website and (soon) the usual retailers, I imagine, like Perfumology. 7 out of 10

although I have been trying to stray away from gourmands, this is nice. it's almost too close to being too sweet, but in the heat it smells really pretty. it's very creamy on dry down. all in all a ripe, sun soaked peach. actually now that i think about it it literally at some point smells like the taste of a georgia peach fresh off the tree, fuzzy skin and all. but, i don't think i'd buy a full bottle, i don't know what it is but something about it throws me off. maybe it just needs to grow on me @mschroe090 makes a very good description; peach juice dripping all over your hands

If I was out and about and someone smelled like this, I'd probably think they were some sun-kissed angel come down from above. The peach is freshly bitten, exposing the temperate droplets of fragrance, skin sweat on fruit. The milky essence of fresh jasmine soothes the bruise of the ripe peach. The cream notes paired with the florals is pure innocent heaven. Not the longest lasting, but such a nice, fresh summer scent.

I dunno where to begin with this... on first spray it's such a sweet juicy sour peach candy scent (which I love), after about 5 minutes on my skin the creaminess really starts to shine and its much more a peaches and cream gourmand. But less than two hours later the scent is completely non-existent. Like the slightest sweet musky skin scent and thats it. I like it but it's not worth a full bottle buy for me :(

Love! Smells nostalgic and deviates a bit from normal peach scents because of the lactonic and jasmine notes. Very fresh and comfy smelling. The initial spray is too artificial and smells like peach ring candy, but that dies down within a minute or two and mellows a lot into the main base scent. It smells great on my skin too. My only complaint is that it doesn't last longer on the skin or project very well.

such a hyperealistic peach scent. I see some people on here call it too sweet or synthetic, I don't get that at all. To me this smells like when you first bite into the fruit and the juice drips all over your hands. So authentic and not overly cloying, this is by far one of my favorite fruit fragrances ive smelled. This will 100% be one of my dumb reaches to wear in the heat this summer!! Overall 8.8/10

Starts out with a very juicy, fruity and creamy peach with a fair bit of sweetness along with a slightly musky and floral melon vibe,Performance seemed pretty good although lighter and the scent stayed relatively the same throughout the wear. There was something in the dry down that gave it a nice effect but I can’t quite put my finger on it. A very nice scent though

Sweet but not sexy. A straightforward, slightly synthetic peach with light white florals. Not super gourmand, so if buying for tween/teen users, be cautious. It’s missing a certain something to justify a full bottle. I like it okay, but I think with a touch of clean salt, it would be so much better. Will try again when the weather gets hotter.

This is fresh peach and white florals up front. It's nice and light, sort of clean and refreshing. About an hour in, the creaminess starts to come through and it becomes lightly powdery, not quite as delicate as before. I enjoy this one from start to finish and don't get peach candy or artificial peachiness from it at all.

I definitely like it, although it takes a few sprays to keep it lasting all day. Smells like a creamy peach. I don’t really get much out of it but I still think it’s good. Not quite the best from this house but definitely far from the worst. Other reviewers are right when they say it’s almost a skin scent.

Have you ever been in a Lush shop? Because that’s what it smells like. The inside of a Lush shop. Luckily, I like that smell! It’s sort of fruity sherbet-y. And definitely artificial.

Similar to Gossip Night but without the thick waxy texture and cloying feel. First Peach is pretty, wearable, and fun for a spring/summer easy reach.

Returning for a quick visit back to the awesome house of Imaginary Authors today, I checked out their latest release, First Peach of the Season. It is inspired by a playful story about a literature student exploring romance and connection. I have to say, this is the “steamiest” fragrance I have read about in quite some time. Now that I have worn it for a few days, let’s see what it does for me. When you spray First Peach of the Season, the main thing you notice is, of course, peach, with a hint of citrus rinds, probably from bigarade. It is slightly sour, but not in a bad way, think more crisp and lightly bitter. I also get a touch of what comes across as aromatic neroli to my nose, which reminds me a bit of the contrasting effect found in Sundrunk (but two very different scents overall), giving the opening a refreshing lift. Then after about an hour, a subtle melon accord comes through, adding a watery, fresh quality. The florals start to strengthen, softening the sourness from the opening and creating a crisp, watery, and slightly floral character. However, make no mistake, the peach remains firmly in the spotlight as the star of the show. After a couple of hours, I start to pick up what I think is the Chantilly cream or a slightly powdery vanillin undertone, maybe from the benzoin. Although somewhat linear, I enjoy the drydown, where these sweet nuances separate it from your run-of-the-mill peach bath products and show the work put into the blend. The gradual shifts are fun and very noticeable: it starts as a ripe, juicy peach, then becomes like peach jelly beans, and finally softens into peach ice cream, which is the best way I can describe it. The subtle melon accord and vanillin drydown add extra interest. For me personally, I am not the biggest fan of peach notes, and this fragrance has taught me a lot. I have tried fragrances where peach is present, but none where it is truly front and center like this. If you go into it expecting something super serious and complex, you might not love it. However, taken for what it is, the story and the simple composition, this is a lighthearted, outdoorsy scent. I can appreciate the craftsmanship and the subtle shifts, but personally I do not enjoy peach enough to rate it higher. It is not a bad fragrance at all. What you see is what you get, but if you like peach, this is a fun one for sure.

A tart, gummy "on-the-nose" peach that, although very fun, is not altogether exciting or complex. I'm partial to cozier, spicy peach like Tom Ford's or Skylar's Peach Fields. This perfume opens with a sugary punch of artificial peach that is more reminiscent of opening a bag of peach rings in the gas station on a hot summer day's road trip than frolicking through the fields of an actual orchard. Delicious, but so sweet it leaves that same fuzzy feeling in your nostrils as it does on your teeth. As with most scents from this perfume house, the much needed dry down comes long after first spray and evolves from gummy candy to chapstick peach. Maybe it's the cream or benzoin that gives it that chapstick-chalky like quality? I'm detecting no florals or jasmine at all unfortunately. Altogether not an unpleasant scent, but the most youthful one from Imaginary Authors by far. Perfect perfume for a young teen's first "real" fragrance, and they will be the delight of their friends. More mature customers might want to reach for something with a little bit more depth and a little less cavities.

I ordered a sample the second it released because much like all of Imaginary Authors offerings it seemed interesting. Upon arrival I sprayed it on a tester strip and I got a sour peach with a hint of creaminess, maybe a more experienced nose can pick up on some of the other notes. After a few hours I went back to tester strip and it still smelled exactly like how It smelled earlier. I applied it on my skin and its super juicy and sour (not in a negative way). Best way I can describe it is a sour peach ring gummy. It projects well and after a couple of hours it still smells like original application, which might make it a bit linear, but that's not always a bad thing, at least not to me. It leans more feminine but wear what you like.

The opening of this smells odd to me. It almost smells like peach lager or something. There's something lagery/fermented about the opening. The drydown isn't bad though. The drydown just is a musky peach. Slightly sweet. I almost detect an iris/orris type smell in the drydown. Something about it is almost like lipstick. Not my favorite peach scent, but not terrible either after you ride out the opening.

This is a sour and fizzy peach fragrance. I honestly cant say I get much else from it personally and can be quite aggressive in its presence. It does come off as juvenile and a bit artificial. But if you like a peach note like that which is very pronounced, definitely get a sample.

Meh! The ads got me. It's not very realistic smelling, I don't know if it's really a peach at all on me. Whatever chemical they are using to make a peach doesn't work on my skin. Its creamy, its a little astringent in the back of the throat - and it's gone real quick.

as a jasmine lover, a jasmine defender, a jasmine truther, i have Never in my life encountered a jasmine perfume that smelled like cat pee on me- UNTIL NOW! amazing work, imaginary authors. this had promise on a tester strip, but on skin, it quickly turned half avon dusting powder shaped like a kitten, and half kitten piddle pad. for what its worth, i don't think the peach note is whats causing this- i usually have the typical Peach Ring reaction to peach scents, and that part alone smells closer to a real peach on me than most do. the best parts of this for me are the skin musk notes, which pull old lady violet lipstick. benzoin base isnt doing much but i'm always glad to see her. the real issue for my nose is the slimy honeydew and funky hairspray vibe, which did not need to be here. thank god i don't have even the slightest inkling of a headache today, or this would have been a guaranteed icepick to the back of the nose and knee to the stomach. as is, this is like an old fizzy drink powder mix from a decades old childs toy food set, separating in the hot sun filtering through a basement window. grandma's hug threatening to topple the nightmare ambrosia dessert casserole you're carrying in from mom's wood paneled station wagon at a church potluck. ......oh god, i just read the brands summary for the perfume. i can't even go there right now.

I was INFLUENCED and ordered a sample immediately. I was really excited about this launch, but disappointed by this synthetic peach top note with nothing to underpin it. There is nothing to mature it or give it any sensuality. It is Peach Crush soda pop or peach rings candy that sits intimately against the skin. It's light and perfect for warm weather wear, but don't expect a groundbreaking peach fragrance here.

Looking for a good peach so i ordered a bunch of samples- this one is just ok- it has a very almost medicinal artificial peach smell and something maybe the musk gives it a chalky kind of smell- i would not buy a full bottle:( not my favorite IA scent.

Sensual and Sexy is the advertising but this feels like neither. This fragrance is extremely artificial smelling. Like a cheap body spray, you get as a stocking stuffer when you're 12. The closest thing I can think of is peach rings.

Chemical coated peach that is somehow still rotting, shelves full of milk with looming expiration dates, fresh out of honeydew melon but fully stocked with bundles of jasmine. Biting my lip and complaining to the manager

I usually love IA scents but this one just comes off as that fake teenage peach scent from back in the day & never settles into anything more on my skin. So disappointing.

As another user pointed out this smells like a sour peach gummy. ring. Unfortunately that's all it smells like. It's not complex or interesting in any way. Yuck

You know that other peach, the one that is overpriced and somewhat overhyped? I'm happy to say that IA's peach offering is what I actually wanted. I don't remember if I had reviewed that one, but to me, the other peach was overripe peach and TM Angel, but not in a good way. Too much patch in that one, and it pulled synthetic, as most of the ones from that line do nowadays (I didn't have that problem over a decade ago). This is a grown-up peach scent that has all the nostalgia of our youth, but the punch of a grown-up gourmand. The initial peach is a bit tart and bright, but it dries down quickly into a more sunbaked peach, but not cloying. It is tempered by slight bitterness and floral notes, softness and creaminess from the benzoin and maybe a hint of cream. Maybe this one just works really well on my skin. I can't stop sniffing it, so it's definitely addicting for me. As time passes, it has a very slight powdery, skinscent quality. I'm not getting any of the melon note, but I'm actually fine with that. I don't need it, and prefer that this stays more peach forward. This is going to be a new favorite for the summer.

This smells like I’ve just licked chantilly cream off a fuzzy ripe peach. Somehow the velvety fuzz is perceptible in the composition. On IA’s note list is “soft flesh”, and I can’t speak to exactly how that’s supposed to smell but I can say that this fragrance has familiar, lived in feel. It feels both comforting and sexy. I get every note listed in the pyramid with peach and sweet cream being the biggest stars. It’s a lighthearted and relaxed fragrance. Linear. It’s beautiful and I love it, but the performance is weak af. No sillage, sits close to the skin. Lasts 6-7 hours, but is really quiet after hour 1. If it had better performance, I’d definitely buy it.

It’s not a fancy complex peach blah blah blah. It’s a nice summer scent. Simple linear and sublime. If I want fancy peach I’ll wear Mitsouko or Madawi by Arabian oud. Imaginary Authors perfumes are not meant to challenge you but invoke nostalgic feelings. Fox In The Flowerbed is another favorite.

Opening smells exactly like Soap & Glory’s Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk. The chantilly cream and honeydew melon come out more in the drydown on skin. It briefly reminds me of a Melona bar before settling into a sweet creamy skin scent. I’m interested in getting a full bottle.

Linear and simple. A fresh, slightly underripe peach. The dry down is a peachy musky cosmetic smell. It's youthful and a little unfinished feeling, but it's cute. Projection is very intimate, and lasting power is about 3-4 hours on clothes.
