New York Sass

i found a can of this but in a different style bottle and omg i love it. Dkny did remind me of it until i smelt them side by side. the impulse sass smells a lot sweeter and sugary and more of a watermelon scent through it, where dkny smells more like fresh green apples. wish impulse would bring this scent back out.

City Collection-New York has a promising refreshing start but the dry down is quite weird. It’s the only Impulse sprays I would urge you don’t judge by the first impression. In the beginning, it is the most likable/close to commercial fresh sweet floral fruity body spray from the city collection range. It actually reminds me a lot of DKNY’s green apple flanker, but more fruity and less the intensity. It starts really fresh, sparkling apple-y with a hint of mango-y, or any yellow-fruit-y smell. It smells really young and bubbly. However, the apple and other fruits smell fades fast, leaving this a bit stale sweetness, like a trashed apartment after a big house party. Normally Impulse body sprays tends to be more linear than this. New York actually has a bit perfume-pyramid, pity, the dry down is not that much my thing.

This was my first body spray! I remember getting it for Christmas and being so pleased and joyful that I sprayed almost half the container on myself just so that I could show off! In hindsight I probably suffocated everyone that morning. I feel kind of sad remembering it though, because that year ended up being quite bad for me. And so I associate this smell with innocence and also with alienation and being bullied and that horrible sick feeling that comes with it. I don't think I could comfortably wear a scent like this again sadly but I guess for a short while it brought me happiness!
