Balmy Days & Sundays

Really like this one! On me: goes on juicy green -- but doesn't remind me of grass so much as mulched flowers and stems. Then it's a perfectly lovely floral. I wish I knew which particular flower it is I'm smelling. Freesia, mimosa and honeysuckle exist where I live, but just aren't common enough garden flowers for me to recognize. I'm familiar with rose (and I'm not a big fan of the flower's scent), but cannot detect it here. Can easily be worn to the office. On my wish list!

There's some misunderstanding perhaps... I don't get any 'green' notes. Mostly sweet and then sweet and moooore sweet florals. Not light at all. I like it, but I wouldn't buy a bottle. I enjoy it, but would wear it once a month... no more, or I'd get tired of it. Perhaps for some the idea of spring is tied with sugar, but the sweetness makes a mish-mash of flowers, that almost gives me a headache. The quality is great, but not a blind buy. Definitely sample first.

A spring staple and huge love for me. Balmy Days And Sundays smells clean and fresh without being aquatic. I'm reminded of my childhood days when my mom would hang the laundry outside in our backyard. It's the scent of clean clothes drying in the sunshine over a green lawn lush with clovers. Long lasting and smells great from morning to night. My wish is to always have a bottle of Balmy Days And Sundays in my collection.

I love this scent! It is soft and light but lasts a long time. On me, there is no sharpness and very little green. I get the dewy sense and the warm florals. It is just slightly sweet. For me, it is hard to pick out specific notes. It just blends together into a unique, very nice and wearable scent.

I really like this fresh floral scent. On me, the scent is a breezy floral with a touch of petrichor. It instantly takes me to an early spring day when greenery is just beginning to return and small flower buds are beginning to show. I love it.

Green and just a touch of sweet florals - this really reminds me of nice soap or a fancy bubble bath. Similar vibe to Bubble Bath from Replica with the clean musk scent but lasts significantly longer and has better sillage.

From the first moments I can catch the honeysuckle amid the green notes and it's a very enjoyable combination. Green, grassy, freesia, definitely all there. Then the florals push out more, but the rose is a soft rose, almost like the ones in the background of men's barbershop scents, so the mimosa and honeysuckle definitely rule over it. In the drydown, it becomes a green-floral with a musk backbone, but I do not get the oakmoss. No matter, I still find this very pleasant. On my skin, it lasted about 6 hours starting with moderate but gradually fading projection. However, as a male, the florals and musk pull it just a tad too feminine for me to pull off, and not feminine enough for my wife's taste. Gotta figure out something I can layer it with because I do really like that honeysuckle-mimosa combo, otherwise, I'll just occasionally spray my sample to enjoy it until it's gone.

My skin radiates earthy notes (to my chagrin). If it smells like soil, mulch, roots, leaves, leaves, branches for some reason these notes linger and overpower anything else in the fragrance so I usually avoid anything described as "green". I tried this as part of the INEKE sampler and OMG on my skin it is EXACTLY as described in the liner notes above . . . Fresh cut grass, flowers and stems on a dewy morning. Amazingly realistic olfactory experience and I actually enjoyed it, but it is indeed "green" and not my cup of tea for a perfume. But if I had to wear a green scent this would be it. I highly recommend as it is a lovely compilation for lovers of green and scents of nature!!

How pretty this is. It reminds me of the above Crabtree & Evelyn fragrances. I own a half used bottle of summer Hill and it is delightful. So is balmy days and Sundays. You can just smell the honeysuckle filled air and the morning dew drops on the precious flowers. The reminates of fresh cut grass linger in the air from yesterdays cutting. Pretty, youthful, innocence. Would be precious as a girls first perfume instead of all the gourmands most of them wear. I would love for my niece to wear something like this. It smells so youthful. Clean dewy flowers, fresh greenness and soft clean musks. Very girly and pretty.

This reminds me very much of a perfume I own, Mimosa by Christiane Celle, which was my signature scent for a couple of years. I prefer Christiane Celle's perfume because it's a tad sweeter. Balmy Days smells very strongly of mimosa with just a touch of honeysuckle. The fresh & vibrant green-ness is prominent. It reminds me of a beautiful green lawn in the morning, covered in dew. Ineke categorizes this as a "green floral," so I'm not sure why Fragrantica calls it a chypre floral. It definitely smells like a green floral and qualifies as one of the best I've smelled in a long time.

True to the description and fragrance notes. This is a super fresh, floral, very green perfume. It’s perfect for warm Spring and Summer days. I feel other reviewers just don’t like this style of perfume, hence the negative reviews. If you love the idea of a fragrance that feels like laying a blanket down on warm grass in the Spring and making flower crowns from fresh blooms growing in a forest near by, you’ll enjoy this perfume. It’s long lasting, projects well and settles down to a lovely, softly musky skin scent on me after a few hours.

The impression of lying in the grass is unmistakable! I get sweetness in the air and mimosa, but I must be keeping a freshly torn blade of grass in my hand! Initially it's sweeter, then it gets green and stays for good 5+ hours. I am intrigued by green perfumes, so I couldn't wait to try it and I like it. I would say it's floral green, not quite comes out as a chypre on me. I think chypres would be stronger. Very nice for daytime in Spring or Summer.

Refreshing and bright. This opens green and stays green but the florals are what catch your attention. You can pick out the mimosa and honeysuckle. On me there's an herbal note that I can't name. Great juice for a day when you need some energy or want to feel like you're in sunshine.

It makes me think of a sunny afternoon, not too hot but appropriately warm for sunbathing. Green and refreshing. It's very suitable for a day out in spring and summer, and I think men can also try this on.

I am not sure about this perfume. For the first half hour or so, I get a strong chemical smell- reminds me of nail polish. However I do enjoy the dry down.

This has a similar kind of ‘balminess’ to Hothouse Flower, also by Ineke, but I think HF is more unique than this scent. This is a nice clean, grassy floral but I just think there are more interesting scents that fulfil a similar role for me. I also wish the green in this was a little more natural, but I find that with a lot of green notes. If you like Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori you’ll probably dig this. Similar ‘tidied up’ greenness with gentle white florals.

The dry down smells exactly like some ‘just cleaned dive bar restrooms’. Smells a little too ‘household cleaner’ for me. I wouldn’t mind this scent in a countertop cleaner (the opening at least) but not on my skin. Perhaps to other reviews points about smelling a little to artificial. Does not perform well with silage or longevity.

Upon the opening, I indeed perceive Ineke Balmy Days & Sundays as a 'green' fragrance, along with a light peppery freesia touch. However, there's no earthiness to be found on my skin, and the 'greenness' also gives out a clean, aquatic vibe. These two effects combined, acually push the scent towards artifical 'laundry detergent' territory. The drydown sees a clean white musk joining in, which only pushes the fragrance even further into this direction on my skin. The sillage is relatively soft and the longevity is around 9 hours. I'm quite sad that on this 'Balmy Sunday', I have to do all the laundry instead of taking a nap on the meadow under the sun. Arguably, I'm not among the biggest fans of clean green fragrances, but I'd still strongly suggest testing before buying due to the aquatic, synthetic presence. And I have to admit that, I'd probably not recommend it over some of the more readily available clean green designer offerings, considering my not very pleasant personal experience with it.

Despite the lovely name and idea of notes behind this fragrance I find it to be unpleasant. It sprays on with a loud, harsh, soapy scent that's underscored with a large helping of men's aftershave. The eventual drydown is tolerable and a touch more in the direction of where I want it to be, but it really is not what I was looking for. I'm not a fan of soap smelling scents, or scents that have a harsh chemical/men's aftershave type scent, and that's what this is. There's a touch of sunshine and grass to it, but they just cannot save this scent from being a huge letdown for me. With a name so lovely my expecataions were high that this would be a dewy, grassy scent with touches of florals and little kisses of sunlight. Alas, it was not to be.
