Blessed Baraka

Initio Fatigue is a thing. I'd qualify that by saying that that I own six of theirs and have one more on order, and that they are one of my all time favourite houses. For me, they are about as close to blind buy safe as any house could ever be; if they release it, I will likely enjoy it. I wear more Initio than any other house apart from LV, but unlike LV there is no fresh and easy daily wearer in Initio's lineup. Even so, Initio's releases tend to have quite a tightly grouped profile of spice, richness and sweetness set against a backdrop of florals and/or musk, again quite sweet and hedonistic. So if you're looking for something that isnt rich, sweet, indulgent and so on, Initio may not be the reach. So if you're a bit over it all, Blessed Baraka is one of the more individual fragrances in their lineup. Its the one I find myself reaching for most often of the releases I own, alongside the equally underrated and slept-on Mystic Experience. At first I thought it was adjacent to a sweeter and more ambery take on Oud Wood by Tom Ford, and it is in that ballpark. So imagine if you deleted the spices, replaced the tonka beans and benzoin in Oud Wood with a soft musky blanket, and melded these in its heart with a fabulously creamy, satin soft amber that dominates more than the wood, but retains the wood richness and wearability you'd be not far off. Baraka is sweeter, creamier and almost lactonic in the way it wears but the drydown is absolutely sensational. There is no date accord but it has that deep sweetness. There is a dark bitterness in the woody accords that starts to creep through the musky mist after about an hour like the fingerlike tendrils of wood smoke. It is gorgeous. The very fine amber in it is very close to the one you get running through the middle of Clive Christian's Blonde Amber and I would say I prefer the Baraka version. I've always thought Initio are a house that are more about what their fragrances feel like and what they make you feel like, than what they actually contain and in that, Blessed Baraka is very consistent with what they do. The cleverness here is that with this profile and these notes, especially the cashmere soft musk and very powerful amber, this never feels cloying or sticky and gets lighter and easier to wear as it dries. It is very much your classic, sweet and complex amber and sandalwood musk in the classic unisex-but-leaning-slightly-feminine Initio style, and it makes you feel great when you wear it in the way their fragrances all do. It is a bit more understated than your usual Initios. The drydown is what makes this so good. It doesnt leap off you in flamboyant waves like Atomic Rose or Side Effect do, but it settles against the skin in a really personal, sexy way and the comparisons here with Oud Wood (especially the Parfum version) are well made in the way it sits on the skin. It isn't ostentatious. You can overspray this one with confidence. Blessed Baraka is a very refined antidote to Initio fatigue whilst remaining very much of their classic feel and DNA. Although there’s only a few notes listed here you’d think there’s more. Very high quality and very well blended. The musk is similar to what you’d find in Musc Ravaguer and the sandalwood adds just a pinch of tartness to offset the sweetness from the warm amber. On opening spray I pick up on a sweet dark berry note, like a dried cranberry or something, I really like it. This dried fruit accord sticks around for a while as it enters the mids, gradually blending in to the more prominent amber and woods. There’s a slight “waxiness” to the composition and there must be some spices and white florals because the color white generally comes to mind. It’s also balanced quite nicely... it’s not too sweet or heavy, in fact there’s a bit of an airy-ness to it but don’t get me wrong, this is highly concentrated. It’s an amber sweetened woody fragrance with musk... very smooth and almost mouthwatering. The overall composition is somewhat dark, extremely seductive and alluring, best suited for date nights but can be worn casually throughout the day if you’re looking to portray a more mysterious or sensual vibe. I don’t find this very playful or youthful... certainly not your Versace Eros or Ultra Male, this is a more mature scent, something you’d more likely smell on someone a bit more cultured, perhaps while traveling through Prague or Milan, a lounge in NYC or Montreal, or even at a concert or opera, whether you are the spectator or on the stage. Point being, this comes off as one for the more “seasoned” but of course, this is just my opinion and how I view it, certainly anyone can wear this anywhere, given the proper setting. I will say, though this is quite luxurious and could easily be worn to a black-tie event or gala, it doesn’t come off quite as opulent or upscale as something like MFK Grand Soir... As much as I like Grand Soir I have a hard time finding the right setting to wear it, I’m certainly not gonna pull it out to go bowling with the boys on a Friday night, but I may wear Blessed Baraka if I’m feeling the urge to do so, and I’ll be the best smelling guy at the lanes! Fragrances from my collection that I find similar or at least give me a similar vibe are; Casamorati 1888 Issey Miyake Pulse of the Night PDM Oajan FM Musc Ravaguer Guerlain L’homme Ideal EDP Bvlgari Man In Black Side Effect Performance is excellent. It lasts forever and radiates a magical scent cloud for at least a few hours (depending on how many sprays). I also believe this to be a 3 season scent, perhaps even cool summer nights. Aside from possibly adding some incense or myrrh, I wouldn’t change a thing about this fragrance. Of the 4 I own from the house, this is my favorite. Super high quality stuff. Most times I’ve worn this it’s reacted differently on my skin and I find something else I like about it... that’s a win in my book. Another brilliant piece of work from the man himself, Alberto Marillas 💯

Blessed Baraka starts off nice and ambery. It’s got a nice sweetnes ms with sown sandlewood mixed in. The first whiff of it I was like damn this smalls great. But it does remind me of the same wheel house of blonde Amber. It has that same style Amber DNA off the first rip but it’s not completely the same. This one has some added musk sandlewood white florals and vanilla. Blonde amber is Amber tonka dried fruits tabac florals biter orange and tubarose. So some notes are similar but as you can see they go in different directions. This one I feel sits closer to the skin along with many of Initio brands scents seem to be. But that’s not a bad thing. This scent profile is addictive and will make someone want to get closer to you to get whiffs of this. It’s creating a nice scent bubble around me that I’m able to constantly pick up. I’m currently at the 3 hour mark with the wear . Over all I’m very happy with the Scent profile and would highly recommend people getting their nose on it for the cold weather. And I don’t think it’s redundant complety if you own Blonde amber. But I will say the Amber accord smells like blonde Amber off first spray to my nose so if you have either I would get your nose on the other before blind buying the other to make sure you feel the same way as I do. I could see some saying it’s not worth having both. And not wanting two of the “same “ style scents in your collection.

Damn. Where do I even begin with this fragrance. I wanted to get into Initio fragrances and tested out some of them. This one stood out the most to me with narcotic delight. I ended up purchasing this one. The opening has some white florals and a dried raisin/cherry fruity aspect that is soo addictive. After a while some vanilla and boozy ambers come out and oh my god it's insane. The musk is slightly powdery and in that classic Initio style. Sandalwood is apparant throughout the fragrance and it adds this creamy a little woody and spicy aspect to the fragrance. It's more suited for colder weather but if you go light on the sprays I think it could be used in hotter days. The performance is great. It lasts over 12 hours on my skin with strong projection in the first 4-5 hours. Easily the best from the brand. 10/10

A simple but very well crafted composition by Alberto Morillas. The White Flowers are most prominent during the first hour, and they imprint sweet, Cherry/Red Berry nuances, probably coming from Heliotrope and Freesia. After the first hour, the floral accords take a back seat, and the rest of the notes (Amber, Musk, Sandalwood and Vanilla) become more discernible. The Amber accord is very resinous. From this point on, the fragrance is quite linear, but I don't see this as a drawback. Although this is a Fall/Winter fragrance, I would wear it all year round, since I spend most of my time working in AC environments. It's masculine leaning, long lasting and noticeable, but not cloying or overwhelming if you're careful with the number of sprays. Test it, if you like oriental, spicy and woody fragrances.

Baraka: "spiritual gift or blessing power" This is a mystical type of fragrance. It has the scent of a temple buried into the mountains on the sinai peninsula with incense and bakhoor burning with the mix of human scents, pheromones and other odors of items. Its hard to explain lol. The dry down is where this fragrance shines. Pure musk, amber and touches of something animalic. It almost has a natural human smell to it, which makes it very sexy. You will not smell like anyone else wearing this. It strays away from other musky, powdery oriental ambers on the market. Idk what it is, but initio added some special sauce into this one. It really does smell like blessing power, something ethereal and above typical smells of this world. Theres something dirty about this that i find so sexy. Great pickup

This smells like a slightly toned down and sweeter version of PDM Carlisle, there’s no question they are definitely sibling fragrances. If that one seemed too mature for you but still liked it, then look into Blessed Baraka as it just feels easier to wear. This is a beautifully blended and smooth cool weather fragrance geared for nights out. The drydown is gorgeous. I swear there's some cherry tobacco in it that's not listed. This is definitely a dressed up scent which would be a great choice for a date night. Sexy, dark, mysterious, yet it has a mass appeal going on that anyone would enjoy I feel. I've been adding Initios to my collection and so far Oud for Greatness, Paragon and now Blessed Baraka are my top favorites. Looking forward to picking up Narcotic Delight and then I’ll stop lol.

This is a fantabulous perfume. I keep remembering it as much flatter than it is and then I wear it again and it’s amazing. 8.5/10. Medium weight ambree. My nose isn’t as developed as all y’alls but this smells really woody and kinda like a great example of an ambree. One thing I will say is that, depending upon how they decant it, perfumes can mix with oxygen during the decant process and move the development of the fragrance along a little further, even when you first spray. I sprung for a whole bottle of this and when I put this on out of the bottle, it was a lot more complex and beautiful than it was in the decant. Totally happy w my bottle, but def didn’t pay no $400 for it. However if I had I’d still be happy with it...I’d just use it less. Maybe.

Incredibly linear scent, but addictive at the same time. I sprayed this decant on my wrist and immediately went "Ooooo!" Definitely musky and sweet-ambery, but not in a cloying way. Somebody called this gourmand, but the scent is too raw for that. Maybe an extremely tiny sliver of powder-ish-ness due to the musk, but nothing that I dislike (I do not like powdery perfumes on myself). The aromas do not change over time, it is a very static perfume. But it works, it really works, and I like it! It reminds me of some other perfume, but I do not know which. If I remember what the dupe for this is, I'll opt to buy that one, because Blessed Baraka is WAY out of my price range (202€ for 90ml), and frankly, I find the price point to be obscene.

Hot Tamale candies, Red Hots, and yeah I get the Cherry Coke but only like 10%. Maybe my brain is just on a ‘medieval fantasy’ kick recently because every other scent I’ve smelled feels like I’m unlocking a new Arthurian knight of the round table. This isn’t a summer scent but it is 100% a scent that needs warmth to activate, get yourself in a room/car with good A/C and this will sing like Pavarotti. In the cold it just becomes a skin scent, a wonderful, almost lickable one at that. Would be really great for layering, especially onto a fragrance that pierces through the cold a bit better. To whoever said “This is the definition of gatekeeping” I absolutely agree. Don’t let the public know this is a banger.

Really sweet and warm amber and sandalwood with an anamalic musk. The opening has some sort of cherry or maybe cherry tobacco with a plasticy ISO E Super accord that comes out every now and then. The dry down is gorgeous, becomes more musky sandalwood it’s nice but doesn’t really seem to project well at that point I don’t notice it unless I put my nose on my arm but lasts 6+ hours on me. I think Blessed Baraka is one of the better Initio fragrances and is def full bottle worthy; you can find it for around $180 on discounters. Would’ve added it to the collection but Paragon exists and I smelled it right before buying a full bottle, but I will be trying the DUA clone so hopefully it’s just as good.

Quite lovely! Fairly similar to Khamrah Dukhan in that it's an intoxicating blast of cinnamon, wood, frankincense, and musk, but Blessed Baraka has a smaller sillage and dries down to a little creamier, lactonic vibe, while Khamrah Dukhan's sillage lasts a bit longer and dries down to straight ambroxan (think Not A Perfume by Juliette Has a Gun). For slightly better performance and a wayyy cheaper pricetag, I would personally choose Khamrah Dukhan and recommend I'd moreso as a safe blind-buy. This type of scent profile is popular for a reason, and personally I like it, but I can also understand those who think that it leans fake-cinnamon or cinnamon-scented-broom-at-a-craft-store xD

Creamy, seductive and just all around beautiful. Sandalwood, sweet amber and something that smells almost like a cherry accord. I also definitely see the comparison to Oajan, but I don’t feel like it’s too close to Carlisle. This to me is a more wearable and less gourmand Oajan. The blend is so superb it’s hard to pick out individual notes and the quality is great. Performance on this is not as bad as people state. I also have the 83% version and i get 8-10h with good projection. I feel like this just needs to macerate a bit. Reactions are great and so is the presentation and atomizer. Scent: 10/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 9/10 Versatility: 7/10 Price: 6/10 Overall: 8/10

This smells like money imo from all the Initios I've tried this is the most impactful when paying for a niche scents I don't want a wall flower.I want a blooming garden which intoxicated and seduces all that crosses my path which is why this is a must buy for me.As soon as it hits my birthday later this year I'm buying it

listen, we got to stop the rudimentary comparisons between some perfumes. Just because they have a common note or belong in the same smelling "family" doesn't mean they smell alike. That being said, I think Blessed Baraka is a very rich sophisticated high quality perfume. Initio has taken the market by surprise making these super refined perfumes. Between this and Carlisle, I would 100% go for the Baraka, I would rate it a bit higher in quality and it does last forever on skin and clothes. Not to mention the presentation..the box is velvety an the bottle is regal. Ladies can pull this off, and it's a statement maker, it's super sexy and I cannot praise it enough. 11/10

Opening feels a bit aggressive. However the drydown becomes an almost silky-powdery musk-amber which has been executed incredibly and simply. If you are looking for a complex structure this is not for you. Smells quite similar to absolute aphrodisiac, however less animalic, which made me like BB more than AA. It is not a projection monster, It will not be felt from across a room, but definitely across a table of friends. Longevity-wise, I never felt the need to refresh the scent through the day, and I have been using it for quite a while, bottle halfway gone. Definitely a cold weather scent. Currently my signature for winter. A solid 8/10.

The most prominent notes here are sandalwood (but it's different, not only creamy) and amber. But I get an animalic accord (which I hate 90% of the time) that I honestly.. can't get enough of. Everytime I smell it, it gets better. Not versatile at all, I can't find the good time to wear it, probably wore it 5 times since I got it (2 years ago), but it's still my favorite. There's also vanilla here, but it's not that sweet loud vanilla. It's more subdued. I really think this is one of Initio's best, tbh. Absolute Aphrodisiac has the same animalic note and vanilla, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Get this. It's hypnotic.

Blessed Baraka is a beautiful fragrance. I agree with some of the reviews below, comparing it to Oajan and Ambre Narguile rather than Carlisle. It definitely has that tart apple pie vibe, but more on the green apple side with a plum note. The sandalwood is very creamy and I notice just a hint of something floral. It smells a bit medicinal on opening but the dry down and sillage is just intoxicating. Performance is phenomenal and it lasts for over 8 hours on my skin. It's perfectly unisex, borderline gourmand and very sexy. Blessed Baraka is top-notch! Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 10/10 Projection: 10/10 Price/Performance Ratio: 6/10

UPD 1: i really suspect that I got a mislabeled sample and instead of Blessed Barak I got Narcotic Delight... When I saw the notes of Narcotic delight I realised that it's exactly what I smell here. Will order the two samples again and try :) I must be crazy but the top notes smell like cherry liquor and tobacco to me... nowhere nearly listed ones More masculine leaning than Side Effect for me, very dense, sweet (but not cloying), warm, spicy, attractive Love most Initio creations I have tried, and this one is not an exception. Just a bit too masculine for me to wear

I really love how this smells. It’s soft and not a loud, beast-mode fragrance. When I wore it at night, I could smell it on my wrist when I brought my hand close to my face, but it stayed very gentle in the air. I met a friend and they told me I smelled nice — something creamy. I was outside most of the night, and by morning I couldn’t really smell it on myself anymore. But when I got home, there was still a faint scent left in my room, which was really nice. This is honestly best if you’re not going out or just staying in. The smell itself is lovely and comforting.

Carnal, mysterious, dark! Amber with a powdery floral top and a faint hint of molasses like date or cherry? Main players here though are the musk and sandalwood in the base which create a “I just naturally smell this good” aroma. Its strong point is the minimality it conveys! Eastern vibe but done right/accessible with a western nose (Morillas es el maestro). A scent you can easily share with your partner. And did I mention strong, three sprays had everyone in Footlocker sniffing and sneezing, so maybe stick to one spray in warmer nights.

Last day of year 2024, i was looking at my fragrance collection - thinking what i go tonight? I decided to go to my initio selection, room was dark, picked my bottle blind, sprayed it on instantly i knew it is blessed baraka. Every time i spray it im suprised that i have this perfume. This fragrance flys under the radar, i use it soo raely but my god what a masterpice it actually is! I rember when old JF ( i mean old ) recomended that to me (top10 fragrances for rest of my life) . I bought it blind - its magnificent scent!

It reminds me of Aaron Terrence Hughes Carbon but on steroids. Very opulent and rich musk middle, with a bright, sharp, zingy edge on the top coming in from the white florals to give it a calming/ meditative mood, and to balance out the musk. The vanilla acting as the background dancer, adding in almost a light gourmand aspect to the scent, but not completely. For the initial smell, its lovely and its one of the best perfumes ive smelled in a while. Its perfectly unisex but i can smell how this can be cloying to some.

I absolutely love this fragrance, I’d have to say it is my favorite out of my collection. I got a sample of this last year and loved it, so much depth and mystery. I bought a tester bottle and got it from a discount website, but it doesn’t quite last as long or smell the same. Don’t get me wrong they smell basically the same, but the sample had so much more terrain. I’m wondering if this is an unfortunate occurrence of reformulation... or if it needs to macerate. If anyone knows, please let me know!

Might smell odd to those without an interest in fragrances. I've heard some people say it smells like grandma furniture. That being said its a super warm and musky amber vanilla fragrance and top 3 all time for me, can't get enough of this stuff. Very sophisticated scent and vaguely reminiscent of BR540 but more masculine. 10/10 And didn't think I needed to note this but some people will. Do NOT blind buy this let alone anything ever. Order a decant or go into Saks / Niemans to sample on skin.

Nose Note #37 Opens like Frank Boclet Cocaine for 10-20 seconds and then goes into Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi for the rest of it. Perhaps this amber-musk combo reminds me of fig so much. Just sweet fig all the way. Even the Absolutes line color decision reminds of fig - dark glass and red on white metal plate. Nice cozy sweet fig scent, kind of basic, doesn't develop much. A buff version of Fico di Amalfi. Unfortunately, forgettable because of its simplicity.

Syrupy, glowing, sweet amber and honeyed booziness. You also get a soft dark cherry vibe. Super addicting, expensive smelling, and instantly became one of my favs! It leans masculine and it's a really sexy option for night time use. It's seriously smoothened to where the projection and noticeability takes a hit. It's more like a constant amber hum due to lack of spices and sharp notes. Performance is really good tho, can still sense it even after 8 hours.

I absolutely love this fragrance. It's just unbelievable. It is NOT for everybody, and NOT blind buy safe. It opens with a strong, dark woody scent. Sweet berries, like a cherry or a raspberry. But these berries are very ripe, like dark and humid smelling. And this nice strong, smooth leather accord. What i said has nothing to do with the notes, its just what i smell when i put this on skin. 10/10 my favourite initio with paragon being a close 2nd.

It’s super sample worthy, my Aunt said she was almost allergic in an unpleasant smell. For me, it was a masterpiece, to me is way better than Absolute Aphrodisiac, and Side Effect, as though it’s a powdery as in clean out the shower heading to a club whilst dazzling in a display of a magical sweet Narrowly Green Forest. If you look into Thomas Kinkade paintings, it’s slightly reminiscent to that! Lovely!

A tool in my collection to be dark, mysterious, and sweet yet able to mass appeal, ideally for cold nights. Initio across the board has the same dna with their choice of musks and aroma chemicals, in the dry down is like a variant of absolute aphrodisiac and side effect. Blessed wins me over because it does not overdo the vanilla and rum/cinnamon notes. A plus that it is not as hyped as the 2 mentioned

Its not your typical boring super sweet amber. This one is blended to perfection and has amazing performance with minimal sprays. I was in a scent bubble all day with 2 sprays on the wrist which was covered by a sweatshirt. Its a little bit feminine, but leans more masculine. The white flowers really give its unique edge. I dont intend to get a bottle but I will gladly rock the rest of this 10ml. 8/10

A unique, exclusive and multi-layered perfume. Every time I feel different notes - it's wood, it's musk, it's white flowers, it's cherry, it's smoke... every time it keeps changing. This is the niche. One of the most interesting perfumes I've ever come across. A dark, deep, masterpiece perfume, a work of art. Not for every day. Only according to a certain outfit, a certain mood or occasion.

I think I found my winter hitter with this one, dark sweet musky amber with cinnamon it smells so good and amazing performance. The sweetness kind of gives me a cherry coke type of vibe idk what specifically is giving me that but its really really good I'm shocked this doesn't have more attention on it. I encourage anyone looking at this one to sample it definitely not blind buy safe 9.5/10

If you like PDM Herod, this scent is surprisingly similar but different, the tabacoo is replaced with Amber and less Vanilla-ish smell, resulting in a smoother and softer fragrance. However, I personally prefer PDM Herod more because the musk tabacoo smells here isn't strong like Herod. Opening: a bit weird like this musky vibe~ Dry down: an on and off like sweetness mixed in some musk.

I wore this perfume in a random store in Monaco and oh my god I loved it. The scent stayed in my nose all day long (about 10-12 hours). Actually the beginning was just interesting for me (I can't say good or bad) but once the top notes disappeared the real magic started. It's my first perfume with Musk in it and it's unlike any perfume I've tried or used before. Niche!

I wore it today to work and one of my coworkers asked me what I was wearing. A part me really wants to gatekeep this bottle but honestly why not share the details. My female coworkers notice my scent while she is sitting across the office room. I can attest to the longevity 8+ hours but on my clothing, it lasted a lot longer

Smells like nice Smokey burnt vanilla in best way possible, very powdery and musky. I’m a fan of that tho. I own this and blonde amber. Of course amber can see the similarities to an extent I enjoy both fragrance. They are in the same realm in some aspects but still way different scents both are great though

I adore this! On my skin I get a creamy amber-y vanilla with just a hint of dark fruit/berry and some vague spiced rum booziness. It has somehow a similar vibe as TF Tobacco Vanille, but I like this one much more, it feels like a much easier wear, and without smelling like a complete Christmas market.

As a someone who owns Carlisle and Blessed Baraka, I legitimately don't get the comparisons. Yes, on a very high level they belong in the same genre, and yes, they may serve the same function, but as scents, they're two totally distinct creations to the extent that it's not redundant to own both.

i love this cologne so much it's everything i want in a fragrance, dark sweet mysterious. this is who i think i am in a bottle. this is also beast mode in a good way. it lasts for a loooooooong time at an arms length. compared to other colognes youre really getting your bang for a buck. 10/10

I am addicted to this banger, I get all the amber and sandalwood goodness on my skin and I find myself reaching for a sniff every other minute, I can't help it; it feels like it was made for me lol. If you are an amber lover like me, make sure to sample it to see how it sits with your skin.

This fragrance is a beast in all categories, the smell is so unique compared to other scents I've smelled, its a bit dark and mysterious, but is not too mature where it makes it hard to enjoy. This fragrance lasts me well over 7 hours with very good projection, definitely, one to pick up.

Simplistic but beautiful fragrance. Amber/Musk/smooth white florals. I’d like to point out that I despise powdery frags and I do not get that whatsoever out of this one. Perplexed as to why that’s the first listed accord. This is one of my “dumb reach” fragrances for cool weather.

Dark amber with a beastly vanilla and sandalwood combo. I bought this one a few days after testing it with a sample, and I don't regret anything. I love this as a date or clubbing fragrance. This is what I'd love to smell like after sex. It's intoxicating. 10/10.

Smells a bit like cinnamon to me, which I love. There’s also hints of oud. The performance really isn’t the best on my skin though. Still a solid and underrated Initio fragrance, which is true for many more that simply get overshadowed by ones like Side Effect.

Scent is very good I must admit. Winter sexy fragrance. It last for couple of hours for sure but all who say that it projects like monster are liying. Scent is very intimate without any trail. Skin scent after 10 minutes.

Tried a decant and this smells almost identical to Red Tobacco. Perhaps a bit less harsh/synthetic, but in the same ballpark. Overall a great fragrance. Simultaneously comforting and mysterious.

My local dillards FINALLY has these in stock so i gave all of em a try. This caught my attention. So dark yet alluring. Cant pick out whats in the fragrance, it just smells MANLY
