I’m actually glad this is the “most hated” or the least mass appealing Initio fragrance because I actually fucking love it and it goes to discounters for STUPID cheap. Won’t say how, but got my bottle for like 90 bucks on Black Friday. Worth every penny. Some fragrances are often labeled ‘ethereal’ but this is different, there is really something ‘magnetic’ about it. Not a force of an attraction that clicks two pieces of metal together, but like the push and pull of all things in your orbit. This a great layering scent. Layers great with PDM Althair and probably other winter scents. This definitely is totally unisex, but not for everybody as it’s more of a scent that’s heavily dependent on your personality type. I think this is super underrated for the masculine scent profile though. Again, the less people who like it the cheaper it is for me, but I definitely think more people should be wearing this. Super unique. My message to Initio: I know it’s more expensive, but put the Magnetic Blends in different bottles. They are just too different from the rest of every other line, and if the product had wayyyy better marketing or again even just the packaging, I feel like everyone would know about it and go out of their way to test it once like they do with so many other ultra unique scents like this one. Different color bottle? The first clear glass bottles? Idk but it needs something

From a sample i recieved with Blessed Bakara. This is a very multifaceted fragrance upon first spray to me, i was initially confused if it was a clean sweet musk, a vanilla tonka, or a cashmere, either way its incredibly soft. The hint of Pheronomes toys with my senses, wether i am reading into it or not im unsure, but i get a calming sensation wearing this, After a few moments, i can start to get the musk protrude more, but its not a dirty musk, harsh or cloying, its a realky nice clean sweep of musk. I still get hints of vanilla but theyre undertones, and for me make this an even more enjoyable scent. Pheronomes? I really am not a chemist, and so i cannot validate any of that, but there are some scents which imbibe you with a feeling, wether it be sexy, angry, joyous or mellow. This i truly believe has me feeling relaxed and calm as i sniff it, so take that as you will, perhaps mental projection on my part or maybe a true pheronome? Easily a Unisex fragrance, and i can see this working on anyone, theres nothing dark about it to me, and nothing florally just a middle genre. Thats not a negative! This is certainly full bottle worthy for me, and will seat next to Baraka in my fridge. Update: i purchased a full bottle

At first, when I sniffed the bottle cap of this perfume, I felt like lightning struck into the deep top of my nose. I've never felt this before. I immediately started smiling like I was high on drugs or something :D This is magic! This perfume REALLY has that molecule similar to pheromones, it's magnetic! While wearing this I felt totally irresistible, confident, and couldn't stop sniffing my wristle. I almost fell in love with myself xD Anyway, the fragrance itself is sweet, but it's not like the other sweet perfumes. It's not synthetical sweetness, or some edible gourmand scent, it's animalic. Soft, convenient, close-to-skin sweet, which will immediately seduce you and make you crave for...hmmm ;) And there IS an oakmossy smell at the end of the drydown, which I didn't like, because it simply doesn't fit the perfume. That mossy waft could've been left out of the fragrance in my opinion. In spite of this, I'll DEFINITELY buy this perfume, and I'm going to update my review after using it for several times. I have high expectations for this stuff! :D

So, I finally got a sample of this fragrance yesterday, and it’s not as bad as people claim. What some people forget is that this fragrance enhances your skin’s natural scent. If it smells off or weird, it’s most likely not the fragrance’s fault, but rather your natural musk smells that way. For me, I get a similar experience with Silver Musk by Nasomatto, which is a metallic-musk fragrance. This isn’t metallic, but something about it gives that vibe. I sprayed three sprays on my hand, and it lasted 6-7 hours (even after washing my hands repeatedly and applying sanitizer since I work in a hospital). The projection was also better than expected. This might be my first Initio fragrance because I really liked it. 8/10

Magnetic Blend 7 definitely is unique. I have a very similar experience to you Silvery. Most amazing affect it has on me. It's fantastic. So sensual. I love wearing it. It is a beautiful animalic sweet, very skin-sweet musk. Warm and comforting. Very very seductive, oozes femaleness, and makes me feel I can do anything as I'm so irresistible! I love it with a passion. I looove the smell. Plus it lasts and lasts, and sends it's fabulous aroma through the whole room, strongly but softly. It's a wonderfully magnetic perfume. And the bottle is beautiful.

I think the genius of this perfume is that everyone experiences it differently, because it truly changes on each skin. For me, the scent is divine. A touch of sweetness, a hint of warmth, so much softness. It reminds me of a hug from my child. It reminds me of comfort. It reminds me of a cashmere scarf. It would have been my absolute favorite fragrance if it didn’t seem fleeting to me. I’m not sure if it’s actually short-lived, or if I just stop noticing It since it’s said to have great longevity.

This has become one of my favorites to wear - either alone or layered. So far this summer, I've worn it with my amber oil, and it's simply divine. I get a clean creamy sort of profile - as if you've just stepped out of a warm bath, and have put on some lux body cream and topped it off with a beautiful airy fragrance that acts like this is how you "naturally" smell. Each time I wore it I was told how nice I smelled. On its own, it wears way more sexy and dark, a little dirty in the best way!

This is indeed a very special musky scent! I would join the other reviewers here in saying that there's something about it that would strike you! So sensual and just indescribable.. On my skin, I get just a slight sweetness in addition to the woody undertone.. I've seen a review on YT saying it's a dirty musk, I would disagree! This is probably one of the cleanest musks I've ever sprayed on.. Definitely a full bottle worthy for those who love musky scents! Sexiness overload!!!

To anyone mentioning a "Dog Ear" smell, let it be known that THOSE PEOPLE STINK! This musk fragrance bonds with your skin to create a special scent unique to yourself. This is one of the more unique fragrances I have smelled, as the musk mixture creates a fascinating and special scent. Sadly, this fragrance does not last all too long, and does not radiate THAT well. Great layering piece though, as when I mixed it with Arabians Tonka, it smelled AMAZING!

Sweet white musk, little magic wand in a bottle. Perfect for being a fixative for more fleeting scents and at the same time super beautiful on it's own. Very light and elegant and quite long lasting. If you have warm skin or you live in hot climate this one is a must-have for this kind of weather. It is sexy without needing to be loud nor floral like more current rose-patchouli-amber fragrances massively released in past 10 years. Stunning!

This is absolutely amazing and super minimalist in the best way possible. This is the smell of natural musk. I guess all the hate it gets it’s because people like synthetic white musk and that’s what they expected. I love to wear it alone or to layer it with another fragrances Long lasting and works in every season and occasion. The best Initio 🖤

I understand why many people say this perfume smells like pencil shavings... it does... but imagine that your pencil is made of the most luxurious sandalwood. Great for layering, but also fantastic to use on its own. Definitely a cold day scent, best to use indoors since projection is rather intimate.

This is great! Clean musk and expensive smelling unisex scent. Fits all ages, but this leans more mature. It’s not in your face, project close to skin so this would be perfect for office. This is good for most of year, except in summer heat. Overall for this kind of fragrance it’s a 8,5/10

With musky, skin scents being so popular I cannot believe how slept on this is. The best way I can describe it is this is like the scent of actual clean, warm skin & Phlur’s Missing Person is that essence lingering on crisp sheets! 10/10 this fragrance just really makes me happy :)

Very very different scent absolutely,bravo..

It's the same kind of musk as is used for Narciso Rodrigues Musk for Her EDP Intense, minus the ylang-ylang and menthol. Just a very clean, slightly cool musky scent, very linear once it dries down (but what would you really expect from something like this?). I actually quite like it - it's good for those wanting a very discreet perfume, although musks may cause head aches for some people. It's a slightly animalic musk, but not dirty, not mineral, not salty. Smells like laundry that has been hanging outside. To me it's not at all like Silver Musk from Nasomatto, as that one has a metallic quality... or even a smoky + slightly sour quality. It is not as clean and simple as this one. Generally, I'm not a fan of Initio perfumes - many are a bit "too much" for me. This one isn't their typical perfume at all, and I like it.

I have worn this for the past week and this has been amazing scent by itself. It's warm and humid where I am and this projects fairly well, but also last quite a long time. With one note it's a clean musk smell. Reminds me of the 80's perfume without any extra notes. The price tag is quite steep, so I would recommend going to a discounter like I did to purchase. I haven't been able to put the bottle down. It's an amazing scent and my first from the Initio house. Musk Therapy gets a lot of hype around the community. But this doesn't get it's due credit. Day or Night. All Seasons you can wear this. Definitely worth a sample.

So this is supposed to be a molecular copy of real Russian deer musk 🦌. It's nice and not as pissy as real musk. More of a skin scent and I could see this working as a layering fixative. Soft scent, not as powerful as Kiels original musk but this lasts much longer than Kiels. If you like musk you'll like this. Not super animalic like Serge Lutens musc koublai khan, very tame IMO. Worth the price? You so have to take into account the research that went into producing this scent, and you pay a premium for that. And if you are an aficionado and appreciate perfumery as art, then it could be.

I only see one review mentioning white florals, but that's actually what drew me to it! I'm not a fan of this house so I ironically found this squeaky clean scent to be their best—Forget about deer musk, this is still that typical white stuff. While it's trendy to justify an overpriced fragrance that can't stand on its own through "layering," I prefer to say no when it just doesn't do enough (even though the beginning caught my attention).

Not groundbreaking or complex but smells effortlessly beautiful and blooms nicely on skin. On me this smells a lot like Tom Ford White suede from a few years ago and a less animalic Byredo Animalique. A beautiful, slightly floral musk and clean suede. Lasts 7+ hours on skin and makes me want to sniff my arms repetedly.

Blind bought this at aurafragrance for a great deal ($109). This is a subtle, sandalwood, powdery fragrance with a sweet caramel nuance. It's very minimal but you can definitely identify it. Very inoffensive in my opinion and can be worn pretty much anywhere at any time. Would not recommend buying at full price.

A skin musk on the sweet side with nice mmmmm of something in it (might be my own skin funk). Wear alone or use to help elongate another fragrance. Easy reach- I spray it every time I have a “what to wear?” dilemma. Wearing this now; even tho this is unisex, it makes me feel sweet, clean, feminine and confident.

I felt like smooth spices but it didn’t last for 2 hours it’s nice and warm yet there is no way I would purchase a full bottle with this weak longevity

This is straight up Sandalwood shavings. Tam Dao EdP in another mirrored image. Lovely!

In winter, it smells like magic. In summer, it stinks like piss.

You have to layer this one with another perfume.

So I typically spray what I want for the day in the morning and in the evening I experiment with frags to determine if it is work safe. I tried the mag 7 tonight and wasn't satisfied with the dog ear smell. It's tolerable but maybe for dog lovers. For kicks, I layered it with mag 1 on my left arm. My left arm now smells like a wet dog ear that's been treated at the vet. The dry down was more tolerable but still a bit funky. I layered my right arm w DUA's Tygar inspired frag. I can't necessarily say I love it but I don't hate it. It's a musky citrusy scent that almost smells like the batter from long john silvers. The projection, even with the layering is fairly weak. There has to be a perfect combo out there because I refuse to sell it... Because I'm a frag hoarder.

Do I like this fragrance ? MEeeeeh.... It opens up very animalic, after 10 minutes you can feel the musk, white as snow and pungent. And that is basically it. That is all you are gonna smell with this if you do not layer it. I Strongly advise you to layer this fragrance with another one otherwise you will not be able to perceive the musk after 2hrs if you payer it with another fragrance then it comes another level. Do you like powdery fragrance ? do you sometime have the feeling "man i wish it was a bit more powdery" ? well this is stuff solve the problem it also makes your fragrance really project quite a bit more and defenitly gives the fragrance another you layer it with another life. 6/10 DO NOT BLIND BUY !

Like most musk-dominant perfumes, has to be tried on skin. I could barely smell it on paper, but on my skin, it rapidly warmed up to a sweet, barely musky raisin. Weird. Literally smells like dried brown raisins. Not for me personally - wanted more musk and less sweet. Interesting and I imagine if you had the chemistry for it, this perfume could be a super cool, unique, signature scent.

I agree with Radius below that this is barely there. I am a big fan of ‘close to the body’ fragrances that do not project far, but this is so weak that I can barely smell it myself. While notes are nice (I also get the sandalwood with the musk as others mention) the overall impression is too subtle and not worth the price for me.

this is the worst thing from the collection. I own a blessed b. and some samples mag.blend 8.divine attraction,side effect,mystic exp. .. and it's really nice. or " nice" whatever was synthetically chemically processed I like it just like that. but this is a horror! otherwise if we are honest i don't like anonymous rich people who want to be everywhere even in perfumery the owner of the initio brand is I think a female anonymous person. i would say it is about the illuminati that vibe is felt. there is money and I want to be a super star. i want to be an actor i want to be a singer i want to create a scent i don't like anonymous people in this business. I don't feel the depth and the story itself can be good but it is empty...bypass this

Should you buy this. Meh. I mean it’s good but not for everyone. It’s fresh without being sour or dense. Think of you coming out of the shower after rubbing your whole body with a dove soap bar. And would I pay 330 for a layering fragrance.No. Even though I traded French Riviera for it, I still feel finessed.

It smells almost citrusy on my skin. Nothing what I expected. I do not sense musk nor powdery notes. There is nothing worth talking about in this perfume. It disappears from the skin in less than an hour. Huge disappointment.

I can smell Nothing!!! This is the first time a have this experience with a perfume, it is like wearing water. Obviously it is a NO for me.

That rich, creamy, syntheic note in Ormonde Man + Plastic ring binder. Hideous. Musk?

I blind bought this because I read so many glowing reviews and descriptions that I thought I'd love it for sure. I get mostly a light incense woody note. It's actually quite similar to Gaiac 10. And I feel the same way about both fragrances.

!..... let me start by saying,... if this came out in 2015 and it only takes 20 minutes to read ALL the comments and reviews,.. then this is definitely slept on.. and does not get the credit it truly deserves. I got a sample of this with a recent purchase and sprayed it on one morning before heading to work @ about 8am ( I work outside) and it wasn’t anything super exciting or knocking my socks off , but as the day progressed, so did this fragrance, .. and by the end of the day I was ready to buy a bottle because this juice is so simple and absolutely Amazing at the same time. With a little heat and a steady breeze this one is crazy simple yet very refined,.. by the time I got in the shower 12hrs later the steam reignited this glorious scent profile and I went the next day and purchased a bottle. I cant explain it ! This apparently was created as a layering fixative and I think my first layering combo is going to be this with Paco R Invictus platinum . For the record this to me doesn’t smell like piss or animalic , not sure what people are saying in these regards, maybe it just doesn’t work with certain people . Obviously .. so sample first because you might be highly disappointed or completely blown away . I for one love it!! I’m a 48 yr old man. I’m a nice guy, but a mysterious one if I had to describe myself in 2 words. .

Ok, I will say this fragrance was my second Initio purchase, the first was Side Effect. So when I blind bought this & smelled it, I thought -what the hell? All of the magnetic blend line on their own are plain weird. Anyway, I shoved this in the back of my closet & forgot about it. I’m glad I kept it because I didn’t realize that the magnetic blends were made to work with the Absolutes & boy do they ever! This is nothing like Molecule 01 in terms of smell -I can wear 01 on its own & it smells great but not this. However, it’s like 01 because it can be mixed with other fragrances. The true beauty of these fragrances work as enhancers & that is where they truly shine. The first time I mixed this with an Divine Attraction I about fell over. It’s so good that I had to buy back ups & that’s not a cheap thing to do with this line. Mag7 is more feminine leaning. I’ve found it works very well with some of the other lines except for Atomic Rose. I wear this with Rehab & Addictive vibration. My goodness it’s good!

This is such a great musky and powdery scent. I think it smells incredible. My friend who works at Dillard's is always giving me samples of this because she knows I like Initio and this is her favorite from the house. The musk goes really well with my skin chemistry. Despite my admiration for the scent, I don't think I'd ever buy this. From the moment I spray it on, it's a skin scent and can only be smelled nose to skin. Maybe this is one of the reasons people think it should be used as a base layer for other fragrances. I don't like layering fragrances so I have no use for that. Even if I did, I don't know how I'd feel about paying a niche price for a base layer. I like the scent enough by itself to where I'd buy it if I could smell it in the air without needing to put my arm to my nose. Initio has a lot of bangers with the performance to smell them in the air for hours and hours. I already have 6 from Initio, and there's about 6 more I would buy before this one.

MB7 mostly smells clean in the opening. The feeling I get is of musks and white florals, but done VERY light. Instantly reminded me of the "your skin, but better" type profile. Struggled to smell anything in the air since the sillage is very weak (longevity ended up being weak too). On-skin, the scent smells mainly woody & mildly spicy - instantly recognizable to me as that pencil shavings styled profile that Le Labo, JHAG and others have. I own MB8 and put a spray on my other hand after, 8 smells stronger, more animalic and more spicy/oriental as the main note is frankincense (instead of the musk in MB7). The raw ingredients clearly showcase overlap, would say 7 and 8 have more overlap than 1 and 8. Re: 1 and 7, nothing similar between those 2.

Well compared to the animalic fecal abomination that is Magnetic Blend No 1, this No. 7 surprised me! Definitely meant to be used as a base layer Musk, it is so nice! It’s a light transparent Musk that reminds me of Body Shop White Musk for Men, but a luxury version I suppose you could say. It even dries similar after a few hours to DS&Durgas I Don’t Know What fragrance booster which is an upper tier luxury house. It does possess a light woodiness and I agree with the comment below regarding a Sandalwood note being present. I’ll definitely be getting a lot of use out of this using first after showering as a base layer. It’s such a clean cozy musk and I find it extremely pleasant.

Magnetic Blend 7 is the third bottle for me of the Initio Parfums Prive house. On opening I get a musky woody scent that feels very welcoming, which develops into a skin scent that is always inviting. In my opinion it is a very nice, soft, sensual scent that could be worn by anyone on its' own. The reason I bought this bottle is layering with Initio - Rehab, which I think is a very, very nice combination. Although Initio is kind of a masterpiece on its' own, having the option to layer with Magnetic Blend 7 provides a very nice soft layer to Rehab, that smells even better. I will try to layer with other perfumes as well, and hope to find more exciting combinations!

MB7 is indeed musk. Not natural, clean, reminds me of paper and a tiny bit of pine wood, but as a distant note. Very dry, very loud. No sweetness to it, no flowers or anything else. i am usually anosmic and dont like clean musks, but can clearly detect this one, though not a fan of it. If anyone wonders if its Kiehls musk - answer is NO. completely different product. as MB1 - MB7 is just a single note to be added as a layering option to their other creations - but if anyone wants to wear it on its own - more than welcome. not offensive at all. description is trying to be too sexy in my opinion - dont believe it. Its not "Ecstasy" in the bottle.

i cant put my finger on it. its good, not great, but great when layered with anything !!! this really steps up the layering game if your into that! which i am so the first thing i did was layer it with jo malone myrre and tonka, a dash of vanilla sex, and some french defence from mind games and OMG this is crazy good! try to layer with this and it really opens up by its self its good. but layered its great!

I admit, that I have a strange perception of scents. That being said, for me it is more sandalwoodey, than muskey. Note, that this is intended for layering, not being worn alone (although, you absolutely are free to do whatever you want to do). I am not a big fan of sandalwood, so I’m gona skip this, because even being layered with the sweetest fragrance of mine, the woody note always shines through.

Tried it at Neiman Marcus. The sales rep sprayed it on top of the Aqua di Parma Oud EDP i was trying out and was immediately impressed. Not only did it give the Oud EDP some major umph; but it also increased the longevity by an extra hour. In my humble opinion it is a great layering fragrance for a variety of scents.

Ordered a sample of this based on reviews. I'm wondering if I was sent the correct sample because it smells nothing like other reviewers described. I find it to be very harsh and synthetic smelling, not musky at all, not soft and not a skin scent which were all the things I was hoping for.

Store Test Short Review: A very faint sweet and mildly sour musk with a uniquely human warmth, works well for their idea of layering as it’s a proper base. Don’t expect any performance whatsoever from this, it will disappoint, but depending on what you’re looking for that might be fine.
