Trinity

Trinity was one of the newest creations which came along with the Insider Parfums re-launch not long ago, as soon as I saw it was a recreation of Roja Dove’s Semi Bespoke 3, I bought it without hesitation. I have to say it really hits the nail on the head, it captures beautifully the dichotomy between filth and elegance, a scent which is as erotic as it is refined. A barrage of cumin takes the lead here, which is where I imagine many will decide this scent is not for them. It smells like cumin straight out of the spice cabinet, to some it may smell like curry, but to me it brings out this gorgeously dirty and slightly sweaty image. Things then begin to shift into a more polite region; lavender, citrus, florals and ambergris take this into a fresher, almost fougere direction which is at once refined, but cannot overcome the unbridled sexuality of the cumin and civet. This is a very fresh Chypre which tricks you, becoming something much dirtier. I absolutely adore Semi Bespoke 3, and whilst I’ve only tried it in store and not at home, to me this smells pretty much identical. For the difference in price, this scent is a no brainer - it’s pure magic in a bottle.

Bought a tester directly from Insider Parfums (something to do with IFRA and reformulations). My word, this is a stunning perfume. Love it, so soapy, so clean, was a bit concerned when I read the civet note but wow this is amazing!

Very elegant old school spicy aromatic with an obvious animalic undertone. Will definitely turn heads but won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. I guess many will love and there will be a few that will hate the animalic aspects. To me it’s a really nice fragrance for fall and spring. This is great for dinner out on the town especIally if you pair it with a crisp white shirt.
