Incantesimo

Tbh, I don’t have much experience with lavender fragrances. It’s a note I usually associate with more traditionally masculine scents, and I prefer more unisex profiles. But Incantesimo was part of the discovery set I ordered from Inverso, and it genuinely took my breath away. Lavender shows up in both the top and heart of the profile, softened by a flash of citrus right at the start. That opening keeps it from leaning too aromatic. In the heart, the sage really comes forward. One of my favorite notes (shout out to Espíritu, my soul in a bottle). It’s rare for a fragrance to feel both bright and indulgent, but this one does. It’s bright in a way that makes the whole fragrance feel more alive. And the vanilla grounds it beautifully. Not sweet or syrupy. This is vanilla bean...earthy, smooth, and natural. The kind you can almost feel in your hands. It has presence without being overpowering. I could wear this on the train or to work without second-guessing it. It’s clean, comforting, and quietly magnetic. Along with Hikari, Charlotte, Ladri di Fichi, and Whānui, it may very well be in my top five. I still have about ten samples left to try, so that could change!

Gorgeous opening, bright with bergamot, rosemary, and a superdose of beautiful lavender. I kept respraying my sample just to keep experiencing those aromatics. Its base is very much in the vein of Dior Homme Intense. I could swear I could even smell that great ambrette note that's in the vintage formula. It's a dense concentration, it leaves a sheen when you spray ot on skin. I like this a lot and may have to keep testing with the $60 10 ml travel size they sell. The full bottle is $260 for 50 ml. That's a lot for me but this is signature scent worthy. I got a strong compliment on my only wear.

Stunning fragrance, it reminds me of a marriage of two well respected perfumes - Dior Homme Intense and MFK Grand Soir. The lavender is smooth, not too bitter, and beautifully contrasts the warm tonka vanilla base. It shows up, but in an inoffensive way; this is perfect for office wear or travel.

The strongest, most balanced, and longest lasting lavender I've ever smelt. Not overpowering, but very present, clean, moderately green, but well-blended. People will ACTUALLY smell this scent on you, unlike many other lavenders.

I blind bought this scent and initially did not vibe with it. I shelved it and just brought it back out. Lavender is usually a no for me, however it smells so different on the skin. It opens up a bit soapy (the lavender) but quickly evens out into a smooth, almost creamy, amber scent. It’s light but also fragrant and is long lasting. I’m still trying to figure it out (for me) as I’m still new to lavender, but I really really enjoy it.

Unisex lavender with a heavenly smooth amber base. More creamy than the 'Reminds me of' comparisons listed above. Exquisite.
