Rue De La Paix

This one took me a couple of tries before I began to appreciate it - I changed my initial vote from Like to Love. The opening is very bright, almost sharp and soapy bergamot. I had to read the notes to detect the peach, but once primed to look for it, I perceive an effervescent peach seltzer. Neither of these elements are particularly my style, so I had to wait for the emergence, maybe after 30-45 min, of the white florals. (I am a white floral fanatic, so that's where I'm coming from on this.) The florals are green yet powdery, clean-musky, slightly intoxicating. The long dry-down develops a gentle quality of sublty spiced but clean, sunny mountain air, uplifting but comforting, like fresh clean laundry. This also benefits from spraying, waiting for a couple of hours, then layering it over itself, to really bring out the complexities.

I have no idea why this fragrance is getting many negative ratings. I came to dislike Isabey since Tendre Nuit got reformulated (they said no but, obviously vanilla was toned down and became no longevity/silages), and Avant et Apres which was the previous release was one of the worst fragrances I've ever tried/known...gross, disgusting, ridiculous pollen scent. However, I think this scent is done pretty well. It has Isabey DNA in this fragrance, like the way white flowers are used, such as in Gardenia. It's jasmine/narciss dominant fragrance and closer to La Route d'Emeralde a bit, but this is frutier. I like this!

Reviewing a sample from 2025. Rue De La Paix was launched in 2024. Lovely white floral with a hightlight onTuberose. Rue de la Paix opens with a touch of bergamot. This is followed by a blend of white florals mostly tuberose - good quality. Clean, not indolic. A complex subtle musky base adds longevity. More modern and less vintage/powdery/synthetic than most Isabey ( non extrait) perfumes. The reason is likely the blending by perfumer Patrice Revillard who also created two other beauties L'Ile Mythique and L'Iris de Fath. Quality- very good Feminine Performance- moderate sillage, lasts 4-6 hours A modern white floral without the offputting and vintage notes in some of the other Isabey fragrances. Simple but elegant. 7/10

Very pretty and strong. Not as powdery as others in the Isabey discovery set.
