L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme Edition Bois

Been wearing Issey Miyake L'eau D'issey Pour Homme for 20years, Definitely know the difference between OG Formulation vs New Formulation. I just got new a bottle of it in a very old condition from a very forgotten old store. My batch is RWT11X produced in Nov-2009. Same dark brown bottle just like on this page picture (First Edition Bois), I'm glad I got this to remember the vintage version of OG Formulation. The other of Edition Bois bottle with light brown is new formulation definitely no difference of the ordinary. So if people said this Edition Bois exactly same they might say the new edition Bois, or maybe they just bullshiting because they just trollgrantica (I believe the don't have the bottle of the vintage) 1. Bottle : Sturdy real wood but very light, bottom engraved with 100ML,batch code, etc Very wonderful bottle. 2. Box : Just ordinary paper box with different design, the difference is inside the box got bottle holder with grey/silver color. 3. Juice : I'm using flat white surface to see the juice color, Edition Bois yellow-brown color, the latest one bright yellow. And more oily than the new formulation . 4. Scent Opening : Bois Edition in the opening got very strong citrusy bitter with more sour than the new formulation, it's so strong so I can't smell the Mid notes and the Base notes, the new formulation the yuzu much more light and flowery on the opening,but sadly the new formulation got very strong alcohol smell in the opening(Doing this side by side definitely the new formulation higher alcohol feel), mean while Edition Bois not alcoholic like the new formulation. The edition Bois opening stage stays longer like citrusy bomb like 45min, new formulation only stayed around 5-10min and get in to mid notes to Base Notes. Middle : Edition Bois evaporated very slow than the new formulation, after 1hr slowly I got the woody watery with a bit flowery feel in this stage but still strong citrusy , mean while new formulation already stayed in mid stage longer before, Flowery Aquatic Woody light citrusy. Edition Bois still looks oliy on skin, mean while new formulation already half faded Base : This stage around after 3-4hrs Edition Bois oil already half faded, new formulation it's gone. The scent of Edition Bois started very similar to mid phase of new formulation but stronger on citrusy. And this phase is the most loved 😍 one, and stayed VERY LONG, mean while new formulation getting weaker but slowly until 8hrs, Edition Bois still strong and started faded on 7hrs, but lasting on skin scent until night (12hrs+) it's like absorbed into the skin like newest release Le sel D'issey. Conclusion: Edition Bois first release brings OG Formulation juice in a new bottle (Dark Brown color), we need longer time to arrived at the beautiful phase of LDPH DNA, New Formulation seems want us to directly enjoy the DNA faster but also losing it also faster... OG Formulation more masculine, mean while New Formulation more leaning towards unisex. But both very similar at the base, OG Formulation just slower transition than the new formulation and OG Formulation more citrusy.

I just bought a bottle of this. I am really hoping that it has some of the former glory of the original 90's bottle I used to own. BTW, does anyone know anything about the Concrete Edition / Edition Beton / On The Rock version from 2009? Maybe it is better than the current formulations of L'eau d'Issey?

Owning at least 80% of Issey-Miyake men's and women's scents.... This is 95% of the original scent. Yes there is a difference between the original and the wood version. Wood gives it a deeper scent which seems to be more richer and wamer in feel. I love it.... 10 out of 10. Sex in a bottle.

UPDATE I got this today and it is amazing! One spray on the back of my hand and it is choking me out a little bit while I work on the computer, haha. That is the old style I remember from when I used to own this years ago!

There is a 2015 version similar to this bottle, filled with the new formula, with addition of some woodsy note. the bottle has a lighter wood color and the package labeled with TRAVELLER'S EXCLUSIVE, sold by FragranceX.

To everyone saying it is the same as the original... I have to disagree. It has a stronger wood smell on the opening. I will say it is similar but not the same by any means.

The most beautiful bottle of L’Eau d’Issey line. Woody charm,gently...so amazing!

It starts in a very explosive open fresh Issey lemon/citrus/orange spicy way - that lasts for approx. 15min. - 1⁄2hour, then the sweet flowery and more heavy notes takes over in a more close to the skin way. I do not get any woody vibes from this scent. My first impression was that I started to think about a perfume my mom used to wear in the 70`s - Charlie from Revlon. Issey Myiake Edition Bois (IMEB) is way more fresh and not as heavy as the Revlon scent - but there are similar notes in both scents like: lily-of-the-valley, sandalwood, musk and cedar. The overall sweetness of the IMEB scent blew me away and I think it is a very spicy flowery scent - I will characterize this as a unisex scent. For me it takes some time getting used to, but the scent has gained on me over time. Like CK One is an non offensive fresh citrussy unisex scent - IMEB falls into the same category. A not very masculine flowery scent you can use everywhere and everyday - if you like sweet flowery scents. It does not last long on me 3 hours top - (reformulation anyone?) then the more sweet heavy flowery notes gets very close to the skin and fades out. 6/10 Update: Apparently this is the same fragrance as Issey Miyake pour Homme (IMPH). The only difference is the bottle. Bois means wood in french - so Edition bois is an expression of the wood edition of IMPH - which again explains the bottle is made of wood. This bottle is lighter than the glass one - therefore the name travellers version. This fragrance makes me happy so a slight change of verdict is appropriate 7/10

Opens more agressively than the original, and I can detect a woody nutmeg note, but when It dries down it is exactly the same as the original. Good stuff, but nothing different though. :)

so cliche sometimes to pick one of your fragrances as a favourite ... I've been smelled many many scents which are great and sometimes became a favourite ... unlike this fragrance, Issey for me is the only scent that I will remember and the most scent I recognize even I didn't smell it for quite long ... indeed this is really really scent that match mine, and I think I more more in love with this fragrance. Now with the du bois edition which is lovely to have a real wood as bottle and nothing changed as an original scent ... this is the ultimate edition for issey miyake pour homme. Thanks for producing the lovely scent ... I am forever a fan.

If you already own the original there is no need for this one unless you're a collecter. They are nearly identical and 99% of the people will not notice the added wood in this one. Unless you're a fraghead with an expert nose that can detect every note in a fragrance. Otherwise, owning both is redundant. Don't get me wrong, I love the composition. And there are few (if any) citrus-focused fragrances that can compare in performance. This juice is beast mode and projects like a monster with all day longevity.

If you're pissed about reformulations on the original, this is what you want. Guaranteed 2010 version, cheap as chips, 100% the same scent as the original (confirmed in their marketing copy). People here claiming it's slightly different are likely comparing it to current reformulations of the original. Buy with confidence.

Bottle is made of real wood, very nice crafted and painted! Love it so much! Like others' review, it is the more powerful edition of the original ones. Really strong and powerful freshness, then dry down is very similar to the original. Very creative bottle design yet "Stronger" version, need to think twice to buy it?

No surprises to be found here I'm afraid. This fragrance is an exact copy of the original L'eau d'Issey pour Homme. The only difference here is the packaging. Bit of a shame really. I would have liked to have seen a woodsier version of the original presented here.

Nice packaging, but the scent is indeed too similar to the original (though it somehow feels a bit warmer/woodier) L'eau d'Issey to make it really worth buying. Don't get me wrong though; it's still a fantastic scent!

Just tried this one at Nordstrom. Starts very promising on a deep and slightly sweetish woody note but turns into the exact copy of the original L'Eau D'Issey Pour Homme almost immediately.

According to the official website this is the classic fragrance in a new bottle.. there's no difference in the juice
