Silences Eau de Parfum Sublime

What a beautiful scent! As others have mentioned, there's something deeply familiar about this fragrance. Not because it resembles C19, no, what I mean is it smells like a fond memory. For context I grew up in the 90s. It brings back some memory that is just out of my grasp, a familiarity, but it doesn't feel artificial. It's some natural scent I can't quite articulate. I'm not sure if a relative or maybe my mother wore this when I was younger, but it can't be a coincidence that so many reviewers have said the same thing. Perhaps it could simply be that this scent DNA was very prominent in the 90s, in other fragrances or beauty products. But it could also be something abstract and mystical like the grassiness, light florals and moss that conjure up these memories. Either way, what a delightful scent and a sophisticated reformulation. Very happy to own it and I'm so glad it exists in the world.

As far as i remember no one in my family circle has worn this , despite this , this perfume is a strangest reminiscence for me . Don't know who , where or exactly when , but is so oddly familiar , maybe a pre school teacher has worn the 1978 original ? Anyways , i want it so badly now ! It is very green , yet so feminine and despite the Aldehyde note it's not that soapy , not in the usual Aldehydic way . It's mature , really not sweet at all . Really on the late 70's way . Definitely deserves to be more famous . Not hype at all , better try it before buying if you're in the sweetie/girly !

Silences Sublime is like the first days of spring in early March when nature waves goodbye to the stillness of winter and budding leaves pop up everywhere. There's the lovely green bitterness of galbanum that lingers from beginning to end, slightly sweetened by the pear, a perfect backdrop for the flowers, fresh and vibrant, to emerge. The drydown is woody, yet retains an almost watery freshness. Need I say how much I love this?

Welp. Reformulations are the way of the future. So here we are. I'll update once she lands! Update: more rounded than the original but still very green. Box lists 'farnesol' and the mossy note is there, but it's that peppery modern molecule version of moss. Also more unisex than my old bottles. Something about it reminds me of the smell of hotel carpet. Curious. I prefer the vintage, but this is good.

As I was wearing this today, I thought that if I had never smelled the original Silences, I would think this was the best modern perfume I'd ever got my nose on. I can smell the pear and it's really quite nice. Sweet and powdery drydown. Would smell SO good on a man. You should try it!
