Bogart Story Blue

Several reviewers have noted a grape scent in Story Blue, something they have detected in Bogart's Silver. The scent in Silver is actually lychee, so that may be an element here. I thoroughly enjoy Story Blue, though a more accurate description would be Story Aqua, because it is a true combination of herbal/ferny/soapy notes and acquatics. I'm sure the "blue" is for marketing purposes. The other positive reviews here cover my thoughts on the fragrance thoroughly. I, however, want to make sure that if you are looking for a solid blue/green fragrance that will last all day (unlike BdC and many others), please everyone around you and offend no one, this is the one for you. Oh, and did I mention that it costs around $20 per bottle? It is worth at least twice that much. Easy blind buy for this genre.

As always, I've enjoyed reading the reviews here, good and bad, I recommend you read Cassiano's review below. Off the bat, this is a great scent. It is the only Bogart scent in my collection that I would specifically assign to Summer use, although the consensus from users here is that Spring is the best season for this. This is probably suitable for all season except Winter and Bogart fragrances have Winter well and truly covered ! Bogart story blue is listed as a Aromatic Marine, Fern. My view is similar, but more Aromatic, Citrus, Aquatic. The notes include: Sicilian lemon, violet leaf, grapefruit, fresh spices, sage, marine mix, white cedar, patchouli, marine moss.

Bogart Story Blue is totally under the radar. I received this as a gift from my uncle. At first, I thought it smelled way too mature for me and I was a bit disappointed. But I kept coming back to this one, smelling it and putting it away again. Story Blue smells incredibly masculine to me. It's what you want to smell on a man, a real man. I picture David Hasselhoff from the SpongeBob movie, funnily enough. This is a hair-on-your-chest, powerhouse fragrance. It's soapy in the best way. Easy white T-shirt fragrance, but really, I think it would be stunning if worn at the beach. -Great value -Bad sprayer design -Smells best shirtless outdoors or at the gym

So I have Bogart Story Red & Blue. One similarity of these two: SOAPY. Like a bar soap. I’ve written about the Red. For me, the simplest way to describe Story Blue is that it is a Spicy & Soapy version of Davidoff Cool Water. Also, it has a bit similarity with classic POLO Sport. Story Red performs better, slightly. Story Blue is above avarage of other ‘light blue fragrances’ on the market. So if you like Cool Water, but want a touch of spiciness & soapiness, with a bit above average performance, cheap price, then Story Blue is a decent choice. Both Story Red & Blue: 7/10.

Story Blue is a pleasant, fresh smelling fragrance. It has a clean, fresh laundry and citrus vibe going on that is likable. The longevity and silage are both pretty good. It is reminiscent of Wings or Cool Water, also Polo Sport. This juice is a grower definitely and is good value. If you like clean laundry type smells - then this could be for you. Story Blue is easy to wear and you'll smell clean. However, it does smell synthetic. I'm glad I got this as a blind buy - It is likable and inexpensive.

Bogart Story Blue (12B03) Another Winner!! - Story Blue is a wonderful fresh and clean offering from Bogart. Imagine sitting next to a tide pool that has a urinal cake in it. I know it sounds funky but it works and smells great. If I had to compare it to another fragrance in my collection it would be Lapidus Sport, similar fresh urinal cake and aquatic type vibe. Longevity off my skin is on par with other Bogart fragrances. I really enjoy wearing Story Blue and recommend giving it a sniff.

I dig this... perhaps the only real freshie from JB. Great for high heat/gym scent, feels very fresh. I'm on my second bottle, these JB fragrances are great value for $$. If you love working out, if you don't wanna spend uselessly on expensive blue fragrances, if you want real value for $$ Bogart Story Blue will do nicely. This doesn't get cloying even if you overspray, the citrus note is extremely light and very fresh. My favorite from the Story Line...

THATS a totally must have perfume if you like the sweetgrapes smell - its amazingly good. i love it! reminds the Silver Scent but better finish and more citrus in it. very long lasting, not as the Silver Scent but will stay on you for at least 6-7 hours even more! i use it often and when i get to the office wth it - everybody knows.

This has gotten nicer after maceration. Really nice clean smelling fragrance - smells like clean laundry and it's potent.

Bogart Story Blue opens with a moderate projection of sweet, sharp citrus and green accords. In 2012, the House of Jacques Bogart released a duo of fragrances that depicted the contrast between fire and water; hot and cold: Story Red and Story Blue. The biggest challenge, in my opinion, should have been to create something more refreshing, considering the history of powerful and striking creations, which are rich in spices, leather and intense nuances. Bogart Story Blue has notes of Sicilian lemon, violet leaves and grapefruit, on the top of the composition. Then, brings fresh spices, sage and marine accord, in the body of the fragrance. White cedar, patchouli and marine moss finish the olfactory pyramid. In terms of composition, combinations like this already exist in other fragrances, such as in Lacoste Essential Sport, Jaguar Fresh, among others. And for this reason, many fans of the brand got disappointed with this creation. If we look back, Silver Scent (from 2006) already had a “bittersweet” smell, which was much more innovative and controversial than this one. So, the criticisms are understandable. On the other hand, this is not a bad cologne. Right in the output, you can remember the smell of Silver Scent, albeit very ephemeral. But in here, this output is very weird. Luckily, it gets better as the fragrance evolves. On my skin, Story Blue was mutant and has gone through 4 distinct stages: a weird output, moving to a more aromatic stage, in which the sage is present and the aroma greatly improves. Then, a new stage with mossy aspect arises, resembling seaweed, which I didn't like much. So far, it has gone about 1 hour since the application on the skin and the nose has already accustomed to the fragrance. So, it came the surprise: the mossy aspect gave way to a more aquatic base, with a touch of cedar. I have the impression that Story Blue was a project saved for creating a cooler version of Silver Scent, maybe Sport or Summer. To me, it makes a lot more sense to understand in this way, for I can't see any connection with the fragrance of Story Red (even in the opposite way). Like in the most of the company's creations, the synthetic aspect is very evident. And this is the reason (and the secret) for their power of projection and longevity. You can come, Story Green. I'm curious about you!

This smells like it could be in the Silver Scent line. It has that grape soda scent that the Silver Scents are known for. I would say this one is better than Story Red. It's a little bit on the synthetic side but it does smell good and beastly. This would be great for parties and nights out on the town. This one is actually pretty good. I look at the notes and I don't understand where this aroma comes from because it doesn't smell like an aquatic or a green scent. It smells like a fruity grape scent. This is pretty good though, it's not harsh at all. I like it! I give this a 8.6/10

The house of Bogart is known for making loud, powerful, no-holds-barred fragrance bombs that are also very affordable on the gray market. Story Blue is the house's take on the "blue" fragrance subgenre, but its approach is no different than any other Bogart. I'm getting a HUGE citrus note. It's absolutely massive and completely synthetic-smelling. This fragrance is like laundry detergent on steroids, obliterating everything in its path. It smells cheap, it smells clean, and it smells STRONG. If that sounds good to you, by all means, get this before it disappears.

Initially it does come across as a very synthetic fragrance with an extreme sileage and lasting power.But wait for the dry down... You will get a nice herbal fragrant minty dry-down revelation. Nothing special in the actual smell thou,but it does lasts 6-8 hours that is unusual for an aquatic citrussy fragrance.

I am a fan of Bogart perfumes but Story Blue is pretty unusual and doesn't come as a typical aqua perfume. I find the fragrance pretty confusing. Longevity is about 5-7 hours on my skin. It's a good idea to test before buying it.

Bogart Story is a strange line,a confused mix of notes that create a very poor result,Blue is a fresh but harsh mix of citruses and some green notes,maybe lavander too.Not total bad,but it was not a good outing either.

What a mess! Smell like some kind of chemical (not synthetic, chemical!) cleaning product. Remind me of spic n span or the old Tide in powder, like a very strong soap use to clean to toughest of all stain! Something that smell cheap, good to use in you car right after u finish to clean it if u want to have that chemical soapy like feeling, but not on yourself! Longevity and projection are average, which is not a bad think, because u don t want to smell like this. So, let see what we have here: Smell: 3/10, smell like a chemical ultra strong cleaning product like spic n span. Longevity: 3/5, between 4-5 hours. Projection: 3,5/5, arm lenght Versatility: 1/5, you don t want to smell like this... Overall: 10,5/25, it is a pass, not a good fragrance IMO, event if it is cheap.

Wow, this is not good. Terrible misstep in this company's decision making. Synthetic and muddled, just like its counterpart; RED. I do smell grape but who wants to smell like synth grape? I got both Red and Blue in a special promo vial packet. Tried them both then saw no need to try them again until I red the reviews and thought I should add my thoughts. So I tried them both again, one on each wrist..............just foul when it comes to the Red Story and the Blue is just sad. don't buy without sampliing first!

Haha! The House of Bogart makes me laugh. Everything they do it is over the top, bold. These guys don’t know subtle. Sometimes I think they are making cartoonish mockery of the “serious” fragrance houses by putting such awesome, bombastic, synthetic stuff out there. Story Blue: it’s as if Bogart said “ok, all you trendy houses making Bleu fragrances- you want BLUE?? Here’s BLUE!” The bottle color says it all- this is an electric blue bomb. Aquatic on steroids. Industrial strength “citrus” with the fresh power to sanitize your personal toilette and your toilet. It’s a caricature, poking fun at the “Bleu de” fragrances that saturate the market. Get it and don’t take yourself so seriously! I will say that this smells a whole lot more interesting than blue fragrances from Nautica, Azzaro, Etc., and has more personality than Sauvage, BDC, etc (but not as high quality of course).

I enjoy Bogart Story Blue. It smells clean somewhat like ARIEL Laundry detergent Powder but more refined and not at all heady or dizzying. To me its better than a lot of the blue aquatics out there. Certainly way better than headache- inducing Davidoff Cool Water. There's also something there that reminds me of BOD Really Ripped Abs body spray but yet more upscale refined and less heady. And the projection and sillage are unbelievably great. Story Green is also awesome. After having successful blind buys with Story Blue and Green im curious about Red.

got it today and sprayed it on my hand. I do smell grapes but from what? then it goes into this urinal cake direction which is not for me. this scent has been done before I've smelled it many times and it is exactly the synthetic mess I never seek to purchase. my blind buys are done. the notes seemed so right but the scent is wrong, at least for me. I should have re-purchased the Ducati it is excellent!

If the bottom of the ocean would have a smell it would smell like this perfume. Strong aquatic green scent with long lasting properties and strong siliage. Reminds me a little bit of Davidoff cool water and jaguar evolution.
