Force Majeure

Look!The hurricane is coming!Love it's name,Force Majeure!But the frag?Well,it is not bad,surely expecting a bit more by it,but it has the numbers!It is a very airy,austere fragrance,that gives you an aura of professionality,it is not that strong compared to many other JB scents,but it is a good choice for be noticed without be too obnoxious.I suggest you to buy it!

Excellent scent by bogart close to paco rabanne pour homme & rive gauche pour homme by ysl 👌but more woodsy! great unknown scent.👍

I found Force Majeure available at a good price from a site in France that somehow shipped to the states for free. Everyone is comparing this to Le Male. Spraying on paper I see no resemblance. Wearing this I can start to see where people are coming from but they are different scents. This comes off very green, the mint is prominent. I get a slight green irish tweed vibe as another reviewer noted. Clean and easy to wear, leans more mature. Longevity is good, does not project quite as loudly as other Bogarts but it's noticeable throughout the day.

Well, on me, this is nothing like Le Male. FM is like a softer version of Lalique's Pour Homme. This is fresh, salty, sharp, citrussy and peppery, notably with no vanilla. Not as potent as the other Bogarts. It's OK only - would not buy this again!

This one is absolutely eternal. The longest lasting fragrance I've ever owned. Pity they discontinued it.

It is indeed similar to JPG Le Male, but kind of lighter (scent is like watered down, not so dense) and fresher, also becomes it is not so dense. I like mint taste and smell, but surprisingly enough fragrances with strong mint accord, like Memoir and Beach Hut, were "no go" for me. Here mint is very pleasing, refreshing, relaxing, simply I like it. It also has a Jacques Bogart base from OMS which allows you to say who release this one hands down. Generally, if you like One Man Show and you need something for hot summer, this one is definitely worth of check. Especially with this price tag...

In the opening I can see the slight similarities with JPG Le Male for about 1-2 minutes, before it all changes. In the dry down it is ALL Guaiac-Wood and Cedar and has nothing in common with Le Male. It’s quite out dated.

why for god's sake doesn't anyone recognise the ressemblance between this and the younger child, JPG Le Male ???? I sincerely dislike le Male (sorry fans) but Force Majeure is a much better interpretation of what the H*LL JPG was trying to achieve with his brew... If you want & strictly for all JPG lovers : a more 'sophisticated' version of Le Male... You're welcome. 8/10 for the quality 3/10 because i don't like (hate) the 'le male' smell

Dirty, musty and old; like an ancient suit hung up in a '70s second-hand shop. A real dislike from me. I really can't see even the slightest resemblance to either JPG or Silver Ferrari. This has absolutely no sweetness, just an off-bitter dustiness. Urgh!

I am wearing this for the first time today. I managed to grab a bottle a year or two ago as it was entering the "discontinuation" phase, put it in the back of my wardrobe, and forgot about it. For the £12 I paid this is very nice, absolutely no complaints here. Force Majeure is a strange fragrance though, it straddles the fine line between the 1980's and 1990's. Force Majeure is neither aromatic fougere, nor is it modern fresh type that became so popular later, it sits right in the middle. There are very fleeting nuances of JPG Le Male (which released three years prior to this) the Lavender/ Mint/ Vanilla combination, whilst not listed in the notes here, is certainly prominent. Whilst the Pine and Musk sits nicely in the background. Very nice fragrance, performance seems good so far (6 hours in and still going well) although it is not like many of the other Bogart scents in it's persistence. There is a certain muted quality to this one, which is actually a good thing as many Bogart offerings could choke out an entire building with one spray. Force Majeure is for when "less is more". The discontinuation has obviously caused the price to sky-rocket (as usual) but if you can grab this at a reasonable price, and want something inoffensive and slightly different, which can be worn at pretty much any time, you could do a lot worse.

I swapped off my bottle of this one, as there just wasn't anything I found special about it (and the ozone and/or aldehydes seems to generate an unpleasant sensation, though that was mild). I can see how some might say that if Le Male is the rebellious teenager who only wants to play his electric guitar all day, this scent is his insurance agent father. I'm not sure who I could recommend this to, unless it was found for a low price, because nothing in it really stands out. If you like the idea of a mildly minty, mildly spicy, mildly sweet, etc. scent that stays true for quite a while, then it's worth sampling. I see there are some 100 ml bottles on ebay now for very reasonable prices, so now would be time to grab one, it would seem.

While this is pleasant enough, somehow it lacks the charm of Signature, the relative sophistication of Riviera nights or the ballsiness of Pour Homme. It's one of those fragrances that I spray on when I'm in a dithering frame of mind, and occasionally it's just the ticket - although more often it leaves me feeling a bit dissatisfied. I think the main issue here for me is that it needs to lean even more heavily into the green direction - the vanilla dominates just a shade too much. At under £15 this is worth the money - I wouldn't pay much more for it though. My least loved of the old school style Bogarts.

Can someone please clue me in if possible? Does this smell like a greener version of JPGLM with a herbally cedar backbone in any aspect? People usually know what they are talking about when the fill in the space of 'what the reminds of' section above. Thanks! Update 10/12/20... Wow, this is definitely a “softer” version of Givenchy PI original in top to middle notes, then drys down to that familiar woody drydown i also get from both Guerlain Heritage and Caron Le3 pH’s. Give it a shot if you like those offerings!

my uncle gifted me this back in the days and ever since i've been searching for the house that made it i've only memorized "force majeure" but as the world turned around and i started buying JB perfumes i typed in JB silver scent (which i've bougth recently) and then as i was scrolling down the list i noticed this: Jacques Bogart Force Majeure. And i was like WTF it's been JB all this time hahaha major facepalm. the catch is, where the hell can i find a seller that sells this where i'm from.

This reminds me of a slightly more mature version, as many have said, of le male which I enjoy because Le Male used to be my signature scent for years until I got into other fragrances. I really enjoy the Jacques Bogart line of colognes I hope to get more of there discontinued fragrances. This one performs well but is not beast mode like many Jb scents it is great for evening wear and probably is better in cooler weather. This could be a scent to wear when you go out too. I really enjoy it

This is phenomenal. I have owned my bottle for around 18 months and have worn it around a dozen times. Every wearing has been fantastic. It has slight Le Male vibes, but the sweetness is dialed way down in this, and I'm getting musky leather, cloves, amber and dry woods. Its very complex in all fairness, but so well blended too and performance is spot on! I like this so much i just picked up another bottle to put away for when mine runs out. Highly recommend! 9/10

Force Majeure smells like a forest. Woody and green. Pine and white musk are prominent. There is nothing inside that would remind of Le Male. Force Majeure is a copy of Bogner's Deep Forest. It's long lasting and a safe signature fragrance. Lasting power: 10 hours with 2 sprays. Great for everyone at the age between 35-99. Especially for nature lovers and construction workers.

Every time I wear this it puts me in a good mood. Love the combination of musk, guaiac wood, cedar, mint and cloves This and Furyo are my top favorites from the Jacques Bogart line. Not sure if this is true but according Wikiparfum this was made by the great Gerard Anthony (Azzaro Pour Homme, Balenciaga Pour Homme, etc) one of my favorite perfumers.
