One Man Show Emerald Edition

First impression of OMS Emerald is that it is indeed a green scent, insomuch as Ruby Edition is a red one. It isn't as strong as the other fragrances in the line, settling down much more quickly toward the base, which strikes me as somewhat "blue", almost marine. I agree with Oldspice (who was kind enough to sell me a bottle), that it does have a leather and cedar character, though cooled down by accompanying notes. I'm detecting mint in the opening. Elemi is a sour herbal scent that is supposedly in there, probably to make the overall scent more green. It's a little like original Quorum without the smokiness, drying down to something resembling Gravity by Coty. I would classify this cologne as semi-aquatic, "blue green" (the color of the bottle) rather than a forest type scent. It lacks the earthy character required for that. Emerald is clean, cool, smooth and rather synthetic. It is the most approachable of the OMS offerings so far. Those who enjoy Coty's Aspen would find a lot to like in Emerald Edition. I think it will make an excellent summer scent. Hopefully it will be available in the US in the next year or so. UPDATE: after wearing this a few times, I don't really like it as much as the other OMS scents. There is something a little anonymous about it. It resembles the others in the line, like gold and ruby, but with some of its brash character stripped away. It also looses a lot of its power quickly, the volume going down significantly after about 15 minutes. I am glad that have to complete my collection, but it might be my least favorite. That being said, you could probably wear this one to work without offending anyone as long as you go easy on the sprayer. For those of you who love OMS, I wouldn't rush out and get it unless you want an edition you can wear in a more conservative setting. It's a bit jarring to have such a tame flanker from a line that is infamous for it's bold and badass scents.

It's true that everyone has their own taste... But there are facts that are facts. This fragrance is a perfect addition to the line and has the signature dna of the collection. That is a fact: You smell it blindly and - if you know the other flankers - you'd probably say: - It's a "One Man Show." ... And a really good one. This “Emerald Edition” is fresh, herbal and sweet in just the right amount, which makes it perfectly wearable into spring; perhaps it has less projection than others OMS, although the scent is intense at medium distance and it's very long lasting. Only Jacques Bogart smells like Jacques Bogart: Let's be clear, these aren't fragrances for the average Joe... And they aren't fragrances for the snooty elitist, either. Jacques Bogart 's real customer is actually a “fragrance aficionado” who belongs to a specific “niche”... And yes, you read that word right. Maybe you can sneakily smell it and swear you don't like it, or try to deny it spouting the impertinent word "synthetic" (especially in perfumery, the paradigm of a chemical epiphany...). Perhaps Jacques Bogart fragrances aren't art; maybe what they are it's just olfactory porn. But well, I’m delighted to add the newer OMS to my collection; Jacques Bogart fragrances always have something bold and differentiating; they’re brave and honest. Not much else to think about, just order it... ... And enjoy your “Emerald Edition” experience.

Late 80’s/early 90’s freshy with a slightly modern appeal. This one ditches all the crappy elements of Gold Edition, and turns it into something that’s actually wearable. Like all of the other OMS’s, the theme again is mature man, but don’t be swayed. Bogart got the balance between old school and modern right with Emerald Edition. Most guys over 35 will more than likely appreciate this leather, minty/herbal offering, and I agree with the guy a few reviews below mine....there is in fact a vintage Right Guard aerosol vibe here that does tend to remind you of a 90’s locker room, but not in a bad way. For me, Ruby, Oud, and Emerald are the rockstars of the line, whereas the original and Gold are the stinkers. I have to respectfully disagree with Robbie on this one. I just don’t see this as daring, but a safe blind buy for older men who simply don’t identify with the Aqua Di Gio crowd. If you like classic greens, this is an easy wear and even easier blind buy. Even with negative first impressions, this could easily be appreciated over time. 8/10

The note pyramid can be tossed in the bin. Up close smells like Aqua Fahrenheit to me, which isnt a bad thing especially at this price level. Fresh green notes of basil with violet floral and leaf and a touch of woods. In the sillage, judged from leaving a sprayed strip in a room, it gives an elegant, smooth and modern green aromatic fougere vibe, with the cucumber and violet leaf notes coming together to become greater than their individual parts. The mossyness of the original edition has been deleted. As a side note this has a nostalgic feel to me because the basil accord reminds me of eastern orthodox ceremonies where the priest dips a sprig of basil into holy water and uses the sprig to throw the holy water over those who have gathered. @ tonkabeantruck I have Gold Edition and that is a far more intense woody spicy fragrance that I wouldn’t have otherwise thought to draw comparisons to. This also doesnt have the level of sweetness that would make it comparable to cordial.

Unusual. Opens fresh, sweet and herbal. Dries down with a herbal and earthy aroma. I think it's the Basil with OMS Gold vibe but lighter. This could almost be called OMS Sport. Not as strong as Ruby or Gold but it's not weak either. Emerald is as strong as an EDP. Emerald has quite a lot of character and nuances in it. I like Emerald a lot, it's an unusual and lovely smell and it's second in my OMS line. Basically, it's a herbal version of OMS Gold Edition. If that appeals to you, try it. Having used this for a week now, I can tell this is growing on me. I now have the complete OMS line and this is the order in which I like them from best to "worst" are: OMS Gold (1) OMS Emerald (2) OMS (3) OMS Oud (4) OMS 24K (5) OMS Ruby (6) However, they are all nice perfumes. I'm looking forward to more OMS juices - maybe OMS Sapphire??

It took a lot of searching but I finally found an overseas seller that would ship to the US. I'm glad to finally have this one added to my One Man Show lineup. It is indeed a green scent, a bit similar to the green notes in Story Green but obviously without the big pineapple sweetness of that one. OMS Emerald opens with a lot of violet that quickly settles in and then I pick up the leather and cedar mostly. There is some tonka but not much, it's not a sweet scent overall. I'm not familiar with elemi as a note. Very masculine scent and definitely has a nod to classic powerhouse type scents. Projection isn't as high as some other Bogarts but it lasts a long time for me. I like this one a lot and hope it becomes more available in the US along with Silver Scent Midnight.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 174 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased October 2019 Another green one sort of like Bogart Story Green but unlike One Man Show. This is the weakest scent profile they've made. Even Club 75 has a robust character about it, I mean Jacques Bogart know what they do best and that would be the original stuff all the way up to perhaps the stories started coming out, definitely the Emirati inspired stuff (CityTower, and the Nights line), Green being the only great Story. What you have here is not so much a safe scent, but mildly inoffensive yet strong. And I can't elaborate any further because I don't/haven't been wearing this. It's Bogart's version of Jaguar for Men or VC&A Tsar.

Nose Note #1033 There's something from the original One Man Show in this, but ultimately this feels like a more modern perfume. Definately less strong. Still similarly green. Basil is very interesting here. Some people voted for similarity with Viride, but forget that. Two very different scents. This is more like a typical sparkly green scent, not old school aromatic green. This even has subtle sweetness. Very interesting. Just like One Man Show this doesn't exactly feel like haute perfumerie, but as a 100% mens scent this is pretty decent. And it performs well for a semi-fresh scent too! Mind, this is super cheap, but performs much better than you'd expect. 7.8/10

The key with this one for me was to avoid spraying on clothes. I apply it topless, allow it to dry and then wear my clothes. Otherwise the opening basil note gets stuck in clothing for the duration of the wear and it can be unpleasant without the remaining opening symphony providing support. This way it is a beautiful fresh green mossy vegetal fragrance with tinges of violet and cucumber. Gradually it gets leathery, the moss gets stronger and the elemi and labdanum joins. I definitely get the Aqua Fahrenheit vibes but this is leathery, mossy and slightly resinous in comparison.

OMS Emerald Edition (17L20) - Love it!! Emerald starts out with similarities to both original OMS and Bogart Story Green (without the harshness). After 30-45min the Nutmeg, Cedar,Leather and Tonka start to take a more prominent roll (Nutmeg is strong in this one). Around the hour and a half mark it begins its transition to a more Oriental/Woody/Spicy vibe somewhat similar to Riviera Nights dry-down. Emerald is not a screaming beast like OMS Gold, Ruby or Oud but it has great longevity on my skin. If you can, I highly recommend giving this beauty a sniff.

To me this is the most "normie" male fragrance of the One Man Show line (but this does not mean it's a dull scent). Good scent, good performance, good price. It has nothing controversial, it's not a polarizing scent like others from this line can be. I like it overall, it's a dumb reach from this line. Herbal soapie is a good description, quite good unapologetically masculine and value for money

Emerald... this is the Sauvage of the One Man Show line. It must be the elemi resin that's making me think of Sauvage. This is the easiest to wear in this line. Very aromatic and ultra masculine. It's the least performing in the line but still not a slouch. Here's my ranking from best to worst: 1- Oud edition 2- Ruby 3- Emerald 4- The original OMS 5- Gold edition

To add to below. I actually think Emerald Edition is a daring, potent, unique herbal juice. Some people will not like this but I really love it. So much character.

Starts of very green medicinal even but as it dries down it becomes this smooth leather with earthy and violet undertones!

OMS Emerald is a gorgeous and long lasting herbal/soapy perfume. Love it to bits.

#197 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Another Inexpensive Gem I don't know why Bogart goes out of their way to design clumsy, frustrating and non-functional sprayers by surrounding them with cheap plastic, but it's clearly their thing. That said: I'm always surprised when I can detect every single one of the listed components in a low-end fragrance like this one. Does that make it "complex" or just "poorly-blended?" I don't care and neither will you. This is a safe and cheap blind buy and not a waste of money at all. Amber, wood, leather, powder, balsam, with some florals, all the good stuff in oddly equal measure with acceptable performance. The opening is almost overwhelming, done in excess you will definitely have a headache. After 30 minutes or so this beast stops howling and it's fine, but absolutely no one will mistake this for a unisex fragrance. It's a low-cost scent, but just the opposite of the normal weak scents you get in the under $20 category, so "Whoa, easy there, big fella!" Probably not something I'd wear all the time, but it's a matter of preference, not any knock on the scent.

This one arrived to me today. First of all....I just don't get the "reminds me of" selections listed above....(???). At first spray...I get green....in the vibes (only vibes,not like a clone of).....fragrances like Polo Green, Quorum, and yes, even a tad of Chanel 19 edt and Jacomo Silences. But this Emerald Edition....goes thru "phases" and "changes" on my skin.....like mid way thru it gets an aromatic herbally vibe,,,(?).....and continues to the dry down, becoming kinda green/mossy powdery...losing all the initial oomph from the first spray...IMO. I find this scent "less" powerhouse than some of the other One Man Shows, but it still performs decently on my skin. I am liking this, so far, so good.

One of the more interesting “cheapies” I’ve tried in a while. It’s easier to wear than the other OMS offerings but I don’t think it will appeal to the under 30 crowd. It’s a quality OMS flanker that doesn’t beat you over the head with oak moss or leather. It changes a lot from opening to dry down: the opening is green, bright somewhat “minty green”, but the dry down gets you the leather and patchouli. Someone mentioned VC&A Tsar...while I don’t think it smells exactly like Tsar, you could say it’s in the Tsar family especially in the dry down. I also get a Kenzo Jungle, Pasha de Cartier vibe here as well. Where OMS is an old school oak moss, soapy beast, this has a bit more modern lean.

One Man Show Emerald Edition is dirt cheap but a great fragrance. It's the easiest of the One Man Show line to wear - to put it another way, it's got the least rough edges of the lot. After the brash opening, it settles down quickly into a herbal - leather - woody smooth, masculine scent that is really nice with surprisingly good performance for such a low cost. If a guy is looking for a safe introduction to leather/woody scents, Emerald Edition is an easy way to do it because the leather and cedar notes are quite tame. Emerald Edition can easily work at any time of the year, day or night. It's a very basic, pleasant masculine scent.

Jacques Bogart One Man Show Emerald Edition... ...is a juicy and syrupy green scent. It evolves around the core of Jacques Bogart One Man Show Gold Edition. Emerald edition and Ruby Edition are rather flankers of the Gold edition than the original One Man Show. JBOMS - green, herbal, woody, animal JBOMSOE - Oud, wood, powder leather JBOMSGE - Syrup, fruit, spice JBOMSRE - Syrup, fruit, honey JBOMSEE - Syrup, fruit, herbs and elemi The elemi and violet give it a green touch with the freshness of basil. It lasts long and it is a lot smoother than Ruby Edition. A pleasure to wear during the day in autumn.

Full testing yesterday. A mix of bogart ruby and bogart pour homme I d say but definitely shares the same DNA as the other post 2010 one man shows...no fruity opening like in ruby but the same density as the later. Nothing really exciting unfortunately. Strangely enough the dry down reminds me of Versace l homme for its conservative aspect. Longevity is quite low for a bogart a bit over Four hours.

I get something of Grey Flannel in there - piney violets - along with distinct classic soapy/laundry detergent aldehydes. The rest is a classical leathery fougere structure with herbal elements, but the edge is definitely the pine-violet and aldehydes to my nose. I like it and by no means as dull or generic some made it sound to be.

It's the One Man Show herbs and woods edition! I can't believe I am saying this, but this one is pretty generic masuline scent, which is weird considering it's a OMS flanker. That said it's easier to wear than most OMS scents. The drydown is weird because it loses all the spiciness and only thing left is sweet powdery smell.

It is a little difficult fragrance but I like it. Very similar to Alfa Romeo Black with the elemi more noticeable in both of them which I like it. On my skin OMS Emerald has two dominant notes: 70% elemi + 30% oud wood. Masculine perfume on very good price!

This is another great scent from Bogart, I really can't stand the OMS Ruby Edition but this one is great with a fresher take on the base scent from the OMS lines. Doesn't last quite as long as the others but still hangs around for a good while.

To my nose, it's similar to Ralph Lauren Polo Intense, but when I smell it up close I get an almost dill pickle/cucumber smell that dominates. Not what I was expecting from other's reviews, but still nice. Will do a full test of it soon.

Hope for something different,the last Bogart scents has some copycat vibe,the heart notes are the same notes reused a ton of times in the last fragrances.

This starts off very green and then dries down into a leathery scent with earthy and violet undertones. Beautiful everyday type of scent.

The Original I used as a Bathroom Freshener, if this one didn't have the same DNA it would have escaped the bathroom. 😏

Sadly disappointed by this one, after waiting almost two years to obtain it. I'm a huge fan of the OMS line, with Ruby Edition being one of my top favorite fragrances of all time. I had all sorts of ideas about how Emerald would smell based on the notes listed, so imagine my disappointment when it turned out to smell like Ruby edition mixed with Bogart Story Green. Story Green is a revolting, sickly sweet synthetic vetiver. Bogart obviously used some of the same compounds in this one that they used in Story Green and it just doesn't work. So sad to smell the brilliance of Ruby in the background as Story Green takes a big green smelly shit all over it. I could never figure out why this stuff was so hard to find, but now I think I know why.

Eight months since this was announced and still no sign of it. What's going on, Bogart?

YES. Bring more Jacques Bogart, we want more powerhouses.

This smells like my high school locker room in the early 90s. Not in a BO way. It reminds me of the aerosol "sport" deodorant we all used to wear back then. Maybe Right Guard? I don't think this is a bad scent, but for me it's a bit dated. I think my dad would enjoy it though.

One thing nobody mentions is there's ethyl maltol in this fragrance. It's blended in so carefully that unless the juice in the atomizer stem was allowed to get old enough (as in my bottle), you won't smell it clearly save for during the first one or two sprays until the stuff balances out. Emerald Edition is an unusual one. Corinne Cachen has been in the game for a while now, and has at least one foot in the "old-school" world of green, spicy-woody frags. See Montblanc Presence (2001) and Avon Surreal Garden (2007) for just two mainstream examples. Emerald opens with a lick of sugary sweetness that is swiftly overtaken by a rush of what smells to me like a "sandpaper accord" commonly found in pre-millennium masculines: ginger & white pepper-adjacent elemi resin (150-180 grit), sage (sclarene), and the most bitter rendition of methyl heptine carbonate (violet leaf) Cachen could possibly use. Violet flower appears in an abstract and very contemporary form, resembling Mancera's Aoud Violet a bit for at least twenty minutes or so, but then a potent nutmeg and desiccated coumarin emerge, lending earth-hued shadow to the grey-green fog. Still spicy, a little woody, a little green thanks to the lingering violet/violet leaf aspect, and with that sclarene really piercing through everything, Emerald settles on dusty nutmeg and a dry-resinous tapestry of violet, cedar, salty musks, and Bogart Group's version of Akigalawood. I've seen people compare this to Story Green (never smelled it) and Van Cleef & Arpels's Tsar (1989). I can see the Tsar connection, although it's very remote. What Tsar shares are similar sour-woody underpinnings, and perhaps there's a distant parallel in how the sweeter top notes are handled in both fragrances. However, if you're a lover of Tsar and you're wondering if Emerald Edition by Jacques Bogart will slip in as a replacement—uh, no. Tsar is lush, actually a fair bit greener, and there's isn't a particle of nutmeg to be found there. Best you'll get here is something that smells just as dry and woody, with soft echoes of whatever 1990s masculine pastiche comes to mind. I like this fragrance, and wonder what made Corinne's pleasant little masculine so hard to find all these years. Finally, a few bottles popped up on eBay! I don't give number ratings, but if I did, I'd say Emerald is a 6.5 out of 10. Quite good and well made, composed around perhaps one somewhat upscale material and a bevy of middle-shelf aroma chemicals that most perfumers Corinne’s age stopped using together in the same fragrance more than twenty years ago. All of that being said, I'll end with this: Emerald Edition is worth seeking out if you're a hopeless lover of green and agrestic masculines from any decade, and if you're okay with smelling like a 51 year-old man who just stepped out of 1997. The problem is, if you're that man, you've already got at least 10 or 15 other spiced woody-musks, most of which probably smell better. This particular Bogart won't turn heads or be remembered, but it's definitely a mature and serviceable men's offering, and I'm glad I have it, if only for how scarce it is to find these days.

Just picked this up for $11. I own and enjoy Oud Edition, as well the Original One Man Show. This doesn't really have any connection to those besides the packaging aesthetics. While I would wear the previously mentioned Bogart scents in public with slight hesitation, Emerald Edition is one I could wear without any fear of wrinkled noses. I've just tested on paper thus far, but so far so good. Very fresh, mildly soapy opening, with some herb/green and violet. Drydown gets more smooth and suede-like. No obvious leather. I'm left with mainly labdanum similar to Aramis Devin without the funk. I was worried about reports about a syrup sweetness, but thankfully it's not cloyingly sweet to that level. Also, no powdery or overly musky notes. Listed tonka doesn't result in any vanilla, which is good. It has a simple, spring like disposition. If you are looking for something cheap and fresh that doesn't smell obviously synthetic or generic this is a good option. Performance is respectable, perfect for office wear in the sense that it does perform and last (at least on paper) but isn't nuclear level beast mode. It lacks the distinctiveness that Oud Edition or the OG has, and probably won't satisfy those who demand complexity and the highest quality/most unique ingredients. Something in the air about this reminds me of Lalique Insoumis, similar old school fougere appeal there, but Emerald feels more basic, and less peppery and bergamot driven in the opening. Both have an old school fougere profile that has been simplified and modernized, somewhat. Besides the Bogart connection, another fact (besides the bargain price) that led me to pick this up was the perfumer, Corinne Cachen. She did one of my absolute favorites, Tanoke 07 Odin, that I fell in love with and has been absolutely unobtainable! Sampling her other work will have to do for now while I search for a bottle of that.

Finally found a bottle of this in my country and now my entire One Man Show collection is complete. I felt that because this fragrance seems to be so elusive everywhere that as a fragrance enthusiast and Jacques Bogart collector (I have about 15 Bogart fragrances) that it's my duty to give a short review. The first thing I noticed off the bat is that this isn't as brutal on the nostrils in the opening as the rest of the One Man Show line. Emerald seems to be deliberately subdued which l think gives it a more gracious persona compared to it's over the top, brash and unapologetic brothers. I always thought the One Man Show fragrances didn't smell anything like each other apart from a common, synthetic ruthlessness that relates almost every fragrance in the Bogart family. But with Emerald it doesn't have that same brutishness but you know immediately it is undoubtedly a One Man Show. The colour of the bottle is right, unlike what someone mentioned below. Just like the colour of the Ruby edition fits the smell also. Emerald is definitely green, just not the piney, herbal green of the original One Man Show. Emerald's green is more of a balsamic, medicinal smell that has a smoother texture throughout where the original One Man Show is a much spicier green. Overall, I would put Emerald fourth in the One Man Show line up with the OG One Man Show, Gold Edition and Oud Edition before it, in that order. Ruby is my least favourite.

I happen to really like this Bogart Emerald Edition One Man Show... It's not my absolute favorite fragrance, but it certainly is a great "sweaty weather" Summer frag... A little goes a long way and it "sticks to you" even in high humidity. On my skin, the Basil and Violet are really forward through the entire range of it's life...from the very opening until it's long past "skin scent". I know that it's gotten panned by some, I know it's gotten over praised by others. But I think it's a really nice, all around Spring and Summer fragrance. I was just about to buy a second bottle... But HOLY COW, has the price gone up! Did I miss the wagon? Did this juice secretly, suddenly gain popularity? I'm absolutely stunned.

Emerald is the reserved, bespectacled member of the boisterous and outgoing OMS clan. Its uniqueness is that it lies more on the cooler, fresher end of the green fragrance spectrum, opposite the rich warmth and depth of so many greens. Visually you might expect something mossy or mentholated like Skin Bracer, but is nothing at all like that. It's lighter and much fresher. On me it ends up a slightly minty, slightly sweet powder atop subtle patchouli and labdanum with the tonka coming across like a hint of tobacco. Everything about it is downplayed, to its benefit. In a word, it's truly nice. Emerald may not knock anyone's socks off, but it won't knock them down either. Wear it with pleasure.

Not available anywhere. It's a shame because I love the Bogart house and green-based fragrances is my favorite genre. Any idea where I can buy this online. Edit (May 6, 2019): Just found a bottle on ebay in the US. However, the cost is $45, which is steep for a JB scent. But at least it's a good sign Emerald might be entering the U.S. market. I remember few years ago OMS Ruby Edition was almost impossible to find in the US. So I bought a bottle in Europe for $40. Then a few months later Ruby was all over ebay in the U.S. for just $18. Lesson learned. The good news is I expect Emerald to be readily available in the US within a few months. Can't wait!

Very nicely done, not like the usual recent JB scents that I've tried, as it's considerably smoother and not synthetic. As another reviewer said, there's a kind of green cordial accord that eventually shows up, but is never dominant. However, early on the leather is quite strong, and then it becomes one of a few different notes/accords that work well together but stay distinct (another is the dry wood and spice). You might require 2 or 3 sprays rather than the usual 1 for a JB scent, but that's fine, considering how good this is for the roughly $12/100 ml I paid for it!

Just came in today. Love the green packaging. Off the strip, juicy, green, almost like jolly rancher but not quite. More depth. Off skin, a bit more putrid, not as juicy, a tad more rugged. Now hear this, It's LIKE Toy Boy (Off skin). The reason, is the Elemi top note. Toy Boy comes off in every way, perfected compared to this, but for $17, it's like a poor man's Toy Boy.

Update: Finally got an affordable bottle and not impressed. With the name like Emerald I expected a more green luxurious vibe. Even though Bogart is known more for quality scents at a budget. This was just disappointing. It's closer to a $10 Aspen By Coty than it is to a vintage Polo Green which is what I was hoping. Nonetheless, I still love Bogart's fragrances.

Reminds me very much of RL Polo (green bottle) in its original formulation. Affordable but similar to classic powerhouse perfumes of yore. Violet, basil, nutmeg, then drydown of tonka and patchouli. Like the energizer ad, this scent just keeps on going. 1 spray on skin and another on clothes lasts 8 hours plus on hot, humid weather. 8.5/10 for me.

The nose’s name is misspelled, it is Corinne Cachen, and there is a specific page for her, not the one thread take you from this wrong name, you will find her other creations when you search the correct spelling.

Wanted to ask reviewers here that is oms emerald similar to grey flannel? Been planning to buy this but i don't want to if it's close to grey flannel since i read a lot of similar notes
