Curacao Bay

You're sat on the white sandy beach while waiting for the juice man to bring his menagerie of fresh squeezed tropical fruit juices. One you're finished you apply sun block while you wait to be summoned to your catamaran for an all day excursion. Once aboard ship, you settle in and feel the Caribbean ocean and salt air whip around you. Steel drums and reggae fill the atmosphere, this is paradise. Curacao Bay is the epitome of a summer aquatic! No, it doesn't smell like Replica Beach Walk or Tom Ford Soleil Blanc - check your noses! I'm not a lover of florals and I'm happy to report this doesn't give me much of a floral presence and also isn't musky on my skin. This lasts all day on me and projects. But also....I don't expect summer freshie's to be beast mode, let's ease up on that. This smells better and performs better than any Jo Malone, add Virgin Island Water to that as well. I really love suntan lotion/coconut scents but Curacao Bay reminds me of neither. A lot of aquatics have a burnt rubber smell to my nose (Sydney Rock Pool, Oud Minerale, Batucada) but this thankfully does not. Such an underrated gem!

I agree with the several reviewers below that this is a lovely tropical perfume, certainly one which I did not expect to enjoy as much as I do. The frangipani mixed with the sea notes soothes, while the black currant (a difficult note for me) here borders on being a ripe-to-burst fig, sweet and tart at the same time. Curacao Bay is not a fragrance I would have sought out normally, but as part of a very generous sample from Fath, I am enjoying wearing it so much I'm even considering a full bottle. There is a slight distant cousin-ship with Laguna, as has been pointed out by a previous reviewer, and the black currant/fig also reminds me of Figues & Agrumes by Lancome - both of which I love dearly. Surprisingly enjoyable and highly recommended.

Out of the 12 rainbow bottles, this one is my favourite so far. It doesn't blaze any trails but it's an excellent tropical summer scent, that checks all the boxes I'm looking for when thinking about vacationing on the beach: it has tropical fruits, the frangipani gives it a smoothness to it that is reminiscent of coconut and banana, it lasts longer than expected for a fragrance in this category! It dries down to salty-marine scent with hints of the florals, and I could smell it 10 hours later on my skin. It wafted towards me all day, it's like a wonderful ocean breeze. It doesn't smell at all like Diptyque's Philosykos as others have mentioned. The poster under me who said that it reminds them of Acqua di Sale and VIW is more spot on.

This is a phenomenal scent, smells like a warm summer day on an exotic beach with a mojito in your hand, I absolutly love this. The longevity is fantastic, it lasts as long as you would want a scent to last, you spray on 8 o'clock in the morning and go out, it will be there 12 hours later when you're going back home. I had a friend over yesterday and he sprayed this on himself and hours after he left I could still smell it in the air whenever I walked into my room. For a 200ml bottle of this considering the smell and the performance, 149€ is a good price, forget cedrat boise, I honestly think as your first niche fragrance you can not go wrong with a 200ml bottle of this

Sometimes I feel like fragrantica users just want to write bad reviews about a fragrance just so it won't blow up. This scent is amazing! And to those saying that it smells like soleil blanc, you should go to an ENT asap. Beautiful coconut in the opening with a lot of citrus, dries down to a sexy citrus-musky powder smell. Projection is great, people will 100% notice you and the longevity is like this: first 4 hours it's pushing, 2 more hours of a tamed but still noticeable scent with 1 or 2 more hours of it being a skin scent. Couldn't ask for more from a beach fragrance. 8/10

Fresh floral-fruity aquatic. Large frangipani blossoms floating in a bowl of water, juicy citruses soaking within and lightly sprinkled with sea salt. A very tropical affair, with a deep woody-marine backbone plus light green accents. Moderately strong projection fades over 2-3hr, longevity 10-12hr. Like a "blue" version of Green Water. Imagine if Green Water was a very light green color and you covered it up with a strong blue dye, that's kind of the picture in my head. Deeply blue, yet with faint green notes still peeking through.

Very nice. Lovely to wear to the coast. It reminds me of Salvador Dali Laguna. It is also very pricy juice so I won't go fb. It smells fresh and totally tropical. Pass me a cocktail! I've got to agree about the similarity with Diptyque fig scent. There must be an accord for fig made by the fruit notes. It's a very well blended scent so hard to pick the individual notes out. The fruitiness eases off quite a bit and the musk is more evident. Moderate sillage and longevity in this cool room. Very nice. I would also say unisex.

Curacao Bay is according to my niece "the most beautiful scent in the world" so I gave her my bottle. It was my signature for almost a year and I loved it. On me this was citrussy, marine floral, slightly animalic. Long lasting, strong, compliment magnet, unisex, beautiful at any time. The only reason I don't wear it any more, is that it became the signature perfume of a girl that I adore and it's absolutely perfect on her.

Citrus-scented sea spray, starts off green and tapers off into a pretty, lightly tropical frangipani. Gets muskier and saltier, but the opening and mid notes still linger. Perfect for a hot summer day, it's a solid marine-themed fragrance. Opens very strong on my skin, definitely projects above arms' length with my body chemistry.

Very punchy sweet citrus off the hop, with some stemmy greenness in the background. A nice salty oceanic backdrop behind it all. I don't get any coconut out of this, it just feels like a nice citrusy scent with a salty musky background. Unisex, great summer scent.

I enjoy this fragrance smells like coconut with citrus, reminds me a bit to VIW but w an aquatic twist. I don't know why coconut is not listed as one of the notes, it's clearly a coconut water scent 8.5 /10

Smells similar to manceras unicorn French riviera

Curaçao Bay is a marine perfume; a scent profile that so often leaves me cold. I typically prefer richer perfume as a rule, and when hot weather calls for freshies, I like a citrus chypre or green scent. I often find that marine scents resemble window cleaner, an unfortunate common pitfall. However, all things considered, CB is a pretty decent example of its genre with several points of interest. CB opens with sheer, fresh citrus notes. Lemon adds tartness, and is tempered nicely by sweet orange. There is a fleeting dewy green undertone, giving way to the salty aquatic accord that really makes this a marine scent. The saltiness is surprisingly kept to a minimum, but there is a marine quality to CB throughout. As it develops, the frangipani adds a sweet, tropical floral quality to the heart of this scent, slightly creamy, giving a suntan lotion, beachy quality to this scent. Alongside the fresh ocean accord, it is on-theme but feels a little discordant to my nose - there is a lot going on here. It becomes more harmonious as it settles, with a nice muskiness softening the edges and marrying the notes together nicely. Here, I get a coconut water quality, perhaps thanks to the tropical florals and seawater accord. The ambergris adds some saltiness here and the soft woody notes complement it nicely. It fades to a soft, musky skin scent, slightly salty and with a hint of coconut evident. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a unisex scent for summer days. One of the better marine scents I've tried, CB avoids Windex territory and is more complex than is typical for scents of its profile. High-quality, evocative of its theme and quite satisfying overall, I like this a lot more than I expected to. 4/5.
