Fath Pour L'Homme

I had been thinking about purchasing this fragrance for a while, but never did. Beautiful flacon...traditional, chic with a modern edge. The cap (a piece of art in and of itself) smelled wonderful - good things to come, I thought. I applied two full sprays to my inner wrist and one small one to the top of my hand. Wow! LANIER's review - fantastic and wonderful, as always. He captures place, aromas, and ambiance with his articulation and brilliant writing. This is some exquisitely, well-made juice! It is so warm - the amber, wood, ambergris all are seamlessly integrated with a blend of citrus & spices, a dash of lavender, mint, a nice blend of airy florals and a touch of clove (in the heart). I took notes along the way, but found it very interestingly...a scent that is seemingly well-integrated upon application (not to say there isn't development but layers come at you with this fragrance all at once)! I get a lot here - and, also, like some other amber-based oriental wood scents, it doesn't seem to transition much from out of the bottle to the skin, except get warmer and more radiant, light wisps of resin and airy smokiness noticeable as the olibanum comes forward. The wonderful human skin touch of ambergris or ambroxan precisely (the pyramid is incorrect - it is not just musk) is absolutely essential here. It adds the slightly salty, smooth, 'skin-like' feeling that combines brilliantly here with the warm oriental base and one's body chemistry. Along with some nice warm, but clean musk, there is a nice contrast between the resinous amber and the radiant 'non-animalic' musks that breathe throughout the composition. To me, amber is the key difference here, separating Fath Pour L'Homme & a lot of Oriental Woody's - and those that have rich vanilla. Vanilla, as a note (I find), is often rather heavy. It sits on the bottom of the bottle and on one's skin, wafting through the fragrance (separated like a 'heavy puddle' of extract on the bottom), but pronounced throughout a scent. Okay - imagine a bottle of, say, Le Male (I just wore it the other day) - a large puddle of vanilla extract is "plopped-in" and it sits there from the waist down of the upper torso and fills out the hindquarters and bulge in front! You smell it from the start and it gets stronger as all the rest of the composition dries off and melts away until you are left with a rather heavy vanillic accord that is a bit too sweet for some - cloying is often a term used. I happen to really like Le Male and other scents in that vanillic vein when they are done well, but Jacques Fath is in a whole different vein...I am VERY happy with it. The smell is great - really nice, rich, warm but also chic and sophisticated. The spices with the lavender and mint make the heart so rich...along with the nice wood (cedar, sandalwood) and prominent, herbaceous patchouli. Not cloying at all. And, here is the key - I would be very doubtful if any vanilla is in here (although reviewers reference it) at all - however, tonka ...is and the earthy coumarin does shade into a sweeter vanillic tone over time brilliantly. However, one should not think that Tonka Bean equals Vanilla - which is in here and not too pronounced, but well-integrated. Amber, the wonderful ambergris (ambroxan), musk and wood together create a great warm accord that is found in Fath Pour l'Homme, along with the baking spices (my nose says a touch of nutmeg and a whiff of cinnamon - neither too strong). Some noses may confuse this with vanilla when the composition comes together (but this has a pure amber base with earthy tonka bean and the very nice ambergris/ambroxan at the end). But, some get it right - so I am not saying something entirely new. Timing on this is rather funny, because, I have been on a huge amber-binge in the last several months of cold weather for both me and my wife. Some are very unisex - Jacques Fath Pour l'Homme is a very masculine composition. I am impressed as it comes together so very well - overall score, excellent! Really good juice and definitely one I will look forward to wearing...! Highly recommended.

The brisk wind comes up the Avenue Montaigne from the Seine blowing the first falling leaves of autumn past the elegant boutiques of Louis Vuitton, Dior, Bulgari and such houses of style. The dancing leaves unceremoniously slap up against your shins and announce that fall is on the way. The early cold snap sends you of to scuttle into the Plaza Athénée at number 25 on the Avenue. This beautiful hotel has always embraced you with its legendary warmth. The wonderful smells from its many restaurants and the famous courtyard with its signature red geraniums on every windowsill begin the familiar old welcome. There is that one special part of the hotel, your little respite from the glamour and hubbub of Pairs and for that matter the world. The little corner table in La Galerie des Gobelins, that wonderful little gem of a restaurant in the heart of the hotel. Once seated by the Maitre’D you order your favorite afternoon snack, Coeur de saumon fumé d’écosse, pain Poilâne toasté with a bottle of 2006 Margaux Segla. As you wait for the delights to come you are subtly nudged by the most wonderful pipe tobacco, and vanilla interlaced with mint and citrus from the bar. Musky amber invades the blend and meets in a harmonious orgasmic rush with flowers from the courtyard and spices of every imaginable description that waif on the air from the kitchens. All these wonderful aromas are the scent of rich, elegant, aloof yet so accessible Paris. They recall your most romantic nights in the city when you were a little younger and a little more carefree. This then is the impression I get in the experience of wearing the very wonderful and truly unique fragrance that is Jacques Fath Pour L’homme. The first thing that made me sit up and take notice of this perfume that was introduce by the Parisian house of Jacques Fath in 1998 was the classical presentation and elegance of the flacon. It is very reminiscent of the old pharmacy bottle design for Chanel No.5. The small understated label in gold with the coat of arms, topped with a hearty metal cap with the embossed coat of arms. It is all encompassing beautiful, rich and arresting in its simplicity. Then there is the fragrance. A gloriously classical 90’s powerhouse that is only for the most discerning, smart, chic and confident of men, it is not for boys to bathe in before a night out in a sweaty overheated club. No it is for something more refined. It is eternally masculine bold and seductive and not in an obvious you can’t take your eyes off of me I am so hot way. No, this is for grownups whose allure is not cultivated but engrained. A man who’s self-assuredness ignites his natural sexiness. Nothing is more alluring than someone who is unaware of their appeal. Jacques Fath Pour L’homme is a real find. It lasts eight to nine hours on me and elicits complements through out the day. It opens not with a shout but with a song of vanilla, tobacco and lavender, in the heart is an aria of sublime blending of its notes of woods mint and citrus. The dry down is incredibly warm and sensuous with musk and amber dominating and ending the experience. It is sublime. Five platinum stars *****

The opening of this fume is dashing and dizzying as a mix of citrus, greens, and florals all rush to greet you! This sensation settles after a half hour or so before shifting into a dewy floral and rich and woody amber. It feels like a forest garden meeting grand sand dunes - it's impossible in its surreality but I clearly sense it nonetheless. The notes are superbly blended but it lets you sneak enough of a peek here and there to keep you guessing. I'm fairly certain I can pick up a dewy rose and violet (and maybe something that smells like a green, crisp pepper....?) contrasted cleverly with a smoky and peppery cedar and guaiac accord. At the heart of this surreal beauty is a very rich and woody amber - it coats everything in it's resinous sweetness and oozes class and reserve. Somewhere in the heart of the beast lies a smoky incense-tinged ginger and violet - soft, vulnerable, and endearing in its earnestness. As the scent slowly progresses, the wooded amber picks up a noticeable powder note (likely from the tonka beans) which resonates quite well with the dewy florals. This further develops into musky and woody amber that perfect for anyone in the mood for a fuzzy and warm second skin. In the end of this fume's long and dazzling life, a beautiful whisper of a lover's embrace remains - an ambery vanilla lingers to remind you of the time you shared...and you smile in rememberance. This is possibly my greatest blind buy on a cheapie. The bottle is nothing fancy but elegant nonetheless. Pretty basic. They've modernized the cap to a gun metal finish with the houses insignia on the top, it looks nice. The juice inside is really the star, so no need for the fancy garnish. This seems like an odd duckling 70s-80s powerhouse that was made in the 90s. Very strange but give it a few wearings and it is pure bliss. They could definitely charge a lot more for this one. It opens with a heavy blast of fruits, notably raspberry and a bouquet of florals, rose leading the charge. The spicier aspects balance out this sweet and floral femininity quite well. It enters unisex territory in the beginning but only briefly. The musk and patchouli enter to reinforce the spices against the feminine notes. The tonka and more woody notes mix with this whole thing going on at the end. It's really sublime and really strong (hence the powerhouse vibe I get from it). Hard to describe is also a proper look at it, there's quite a bit going on here. The longevity and projection, to me, are fantastic. The quality of the fragrance is amazing. I feel like I've cheated someone out of hard earned dollars for what I paid for this one. I think most ages could wear this, an eccentric woman could as well. Definitely winter, maybe fall. I'd go with formal or fancier casual. This isn't one you wear at a kids' birthday party or some such outing. It's fairly serious. All in all, you should check it out at such a price. It's a downright steal.

I think I am ready to start writing reviews on Fragrantica. It only makes sense to begin with the first proper fragrance I bought for myself. At about 3am one night in snowy Boone, NC stoned in my awful dilapidated college home I decided to see if I could find a unique, inexpensive cologne. Not to start a collection, just to have an attractive little accessory follow me throughout the day. That was October 26, 2017. I'm not saying a fragrance is the reason my life has improved so much since October 2017, but this purchase definitely coincided with some of the best things that have ever happened to me. The scent memories tied to Fath Pour L'Homme have cemented it as my all time favorite and most meaningful fragrance. It will be my wedding day fragrance soon. JFPH is sweet, spicy, fruity, woody, floral, handsome and somehow still so very safe. It fits in with other oriental style designers from the 1990s such as YSL's Opium, but nothing smells even remotely like it. The beauty of this one lies in the complex nature of the notes. You don't smell like a mob boss or a frat bro when you wear this, you smell like a man outside of time. It's eclectic and appealing. Amber is the star player here supported chiefly by raspberry, olibanum, and musky floral notes that lend a powdery feel to it all. I own three bottles of this increasingly hard to find gem, yet only wear it for most special occasions anymore. Fath Pour L'Homme is simply one of the best and most interesting scents on earth. 10/10.

"One morning The Dreamer awoke from a night of strange dreams to find himself transformed into an elegant and exceptionally chic Parisian gentleman..." For me this wonderful and tragically unknown fragrance recalls The Dreamer by Versace in a curious and unexpected way. I had to go back and compare both to get some sense of the similarities and differences, and yes there is something to this. Though The Dreamer has a lot of Tonka bean running through it, along with tobacco and florals, here the Tonka bean has a slightly different effect, mediated by what seems to be ambergris and mixed spices. This gives it something of a tea-like accord early on in the drydown but it quickly reaches its linear and lengthy amber note, which is very rich and enjoyable. Jacques Fath Pour L'Homme is a fragrance which shows some of its common heritage with The Dreamer from the 1990s (TD was released a couple of years before). But it is almost as if The Dreamer awoke from his slumbers only to find himself in a chic Parisian arrondissement in the early 1960s...as Pour L'Homme. All said, Pour L'Homme is a very refined, elegant and understated fragrance. It has very good performance without being offensive and exudes the sort of charm that cannot be taken for granted. Any time I wear it, I wonder why I do not do so more. Highly recommended try - and if you appreciate such fragrances you cannot go wrong at the current price-point.

Let me start off by saying that I really enjoy this fragrance, but I want to be as straightforward and honest as possible...this definitely has an old school vibe to it. Reading some of the comments, I really didn't know what to expect. I read it's similar to Pi, Obsession, Dreamer, and Prada Intense; I don't know if I smell any of those fragrances (maybe a bit of Obsession and Pi at certain stages). Initially, what I smell is a very elegant and pronounced grapefruit note that is joined by the cedar, mint, and some spices. This is a very beautiful opening and this is what you smell from the bottle top. I've had people tell me that it doesnt smell too old school but they definitely hint at its age. The mid is almost as gorgeous as the top with a smooth, powdery rose coming through with some more florals and the spices starting to fade. In the mid, you can also smell the amber peaking through. The fragrance begins to get powdery but it's not obnoxious and annoying. It's very elegant. The base is ok with remnants of the amber, tonka beans, patchouli, and maybe some cedar lasting for the duration of the fragrance. I wish I could get the top and mid throughout; with that change, this probably would make my top 5. I get maybe 6-7 hours out of this fragrance with a 2-3 ft radius scent cloud.

There is no boozy note listed here, but I swear I get a boozy vibe from this. The raspberry is blended to perfection. It is not like TF Tuscan leather or Mont Blanc Individuel raspberry note exactly. At any rate, it is a resinous ambery slightly smoky fragrance. It is a "Thierry Mugler-isk" type of composition. Meaning, I can see this being a Thierry Mugler creation by the way the patchouli is used in this fragrance. Again, this does not smell like the Amen line neither. It just has some common nuances of some popular fragrances. You dig? It can be unisex for the right type of gal in the right kind of situations with the right outfit;) However, guys, it is leaning more masculine to me. Very good performer, and it doesn't come of dated either--despite the creation date. It is a mature sent, so I see 30+ wearing and appreciating this more-YMMV. I gave my take on this on video as well. Excellent value for money. However, I hear in some regions it is costly. In the states, a 125ml is sub $30 USD. It is worth way more than that based on some of the current prices of NICHE or DESIGNER offers. YT Shavenonthedarkside

Jacques Fath passed in 1954 at the age of 42...If ONLY this man had lived longer, I can only imagine how completely his house would have ruled the fragrance world. His scents would definitely be top contenders today were they advertised better or at all, really. The original Green Water is an absolute masterpiece and Pour L'Homme is no exception. It gets right what Obsession(too heavy), Pi(cloying and syrupy), Opium(a bit too dry), and every other fragrance in this vein gets wrong. It's moderately powerful, sweet, spicy, and refined, but edgy and charismatic like Crosby's and Sinatra's voices in a bottle. It borders on the brink of gourmand, but the olibanum, florals, and woods keep it grounded in something that's distinctly leathery and just slightly rough around the edges. It goes on musky, sweet, and smooth, then dries down to a level where the tonka and amber really shine. Imagine Ray Milland and Jimmy Stewart in their perfectly cut streamlined tuxes and you'll have a visual representation of Pour L'Homme. It's simply one of the best ever. Smell: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10 Longevity: 10/10

Fath pour L'homme is a truly REMARKABLE fragrance. I have yet to come across a frag which goes from a woodsy-spicy-oriental aroma with olibanum to a warm-sweet-musky heavenly scent. I'm amazed at how far this frag projects and how you get others attention when you wear this juice. There's a slight hint of floral notes making it complete. What I believe is makes this frag phenomenal is that vanilla/amber aroma coming from amber, tonka bean mixed with patucchli giving your partner an orgasm. Longevity and Silage is very high quality lasting well past 10hrs and over 3ft away. Finally thoughts, This juice is UNBELIEVABLY SOPHISTICATED and SEXY. A real attractive powdery/sweet creamy vib elevating this juice to being almost an edp thou it's listed as a edt. What can I say....when you wear this juice, some might think you bathed in this old school juice. I totally agree with Heaven Scent 777... Guys listen up, read the comments below..this frag certainly grabs a woman's attention so you won't be disappointed what so ever. In a word...BRILLIANT. 9.5/10

This a great raspberry and citrus fragrance. Smells great, received many compliments times today, best office scent yet. It doesn't grab you and push you against the wall like one million. But it lures people towards you, slowly & kindly... I have three bottles altogether. This is a must buy. Can't go wrong with this one. Update: I retired this scent, because my ex loved this. I don't like things that remind me of the past pains. I used nine sprays...both wrist, behind my ears, back & front of my neck, chest, front and back of my shirt. Will I buy this again?...Yes, i have two backup bottles. Garçon à la vanille mais sans vanille Senteur 9,5/10 Il s'agit de mon parfum de jour en hiver. Très confortable, chaleureux... comme un deuxième pull. Comme l'a noté un lecteur, l'accord musc, épices, ambre et pachouly lui confère des notes vanillées. Sillage 2/2. Excellent voire énorme pour ce parfum qui pourtant n'est pas intrusif (mais attention tout de même avec le dosage). Longévité 2/2. Masculinité 1/2. C'est peut-être là le défaut de ce parfum, il n'est pas si masculin que ça, voire est unisexe. Adoucira avantageusement un homme qui n'hésitera pas à montrer d'autres preuves de virilités par ailleurs. Evolution 3.5/4. Ses notes de fonds, immédiatement perceptibles, ne cessent de s'adoucir au fil des heures pour un fond de plus en plus chaleureux. TOTAL 18/20 Petit chef d'oeuvre inconnu ! شروع عطر با حس گیرایی از تلفیق ادویه جات،رِزین و روایح آروماتیک آغاز میشه که ته بویی چوبی_اسموکی هم داره در عین حال که عطر با صلابت و قرص و محکم ای هست اما رایحه ای صیقلی داره که به نرمی روی تن می نشینه وعصا قورت داده نیست بخش رِزینی در ابتدا شبیه به کُندر یا صَمغ در حال گرما دیدن هست که به مرور تغییر حالت این آکورد از این حالت به سمت آمبری_پودری شدن میره وجه آروماتیک عطر هم خیلی پایدار نیست و بعد از حدود ده دقیقه کم رنگ میشه و به حاشیه میره پچولی و تونکا به نوعی ساختمان اصلی عطر رو تشکیل میدن که دقیقا بین مرز کلاسیک و مُدرن ایستاده و دست رد به سینه هیچ مخاطب ای نمی زنه از چوب ها گرفته تا گُل ها؛همه یک وجه پودری داخل شون هست که حس مخملی و نرم ای به عطر میده و شیرینی به اندازه ای داره ************************* scent:8.5/10 longevity:9/10 sillage:7.5/10 purchase value:10/10 ********* overall:8.8/10

Robert Redford in The Horse Whisperer, Susan Sarandon in Thelma & Louise Molten gold with flecks of dark green and amber Fire, softly crackling logs and a wee dram Soft, warm skin under flannel shirts Talcum powder on someones neck when you go in for the hug Conifers in summer, sticky resin dripping, dry needles on the ground Slowly wilting dark roses in the corner Supple beige suede gloves A drawer full of silk underwear washed in french soap Lavender scent bags from last summer in an old armoire Salted caramel Masterfully blended, for the price an absolute steal. Not run of the mill, this has it's very own unique character. A man smelling like this knows what he's doing. As does a woman. Classy af. Will get plenty of outings this winter.

Fath Pour L`Homme is very special. Very soft and gentle at the opening, with fresh citric notes a bit muted by woody-minty accent. The development is stronger and sweeter, very complex, fruity-flowery, and still sweet but not too much. In an hour after the application you can feel the real Fath - slightly powdery, woody-ambery, very rich, not sweet as before but rather demi-sec, wrapped in an unusually pleasant smoky cloud. Sillage is moderate, longevity is quite remarkable. Unusual, classy, extremely well balanced. A treasure!

I have the original formulation, and what a stunning amber note with just the right balance of tonka, rose, candied violet, and raspberry to lend a satisfying sweetness (I usually steer clear of sweet fragrances that often verge on cloying). I just keep sniffing my hand, its undeniably delicious. The olibanum and woods in the drydown prevent this from steering into full-on gourmand territory, anchoring the amber and ensconsing the wearer in powder and incense. Magnificent.

This is an awesome fragrance, i just got it, but I can tell already that I love the fragrance. Very complex, delicious and manly. The projection seems to be very good, but I can't speak about longevity yet. It's similar to my favorite fragrance, Lanvin Arpege Pour Homme, but Fath seems to be the big and manly brother! Best part? It's so cheap and under the radar!

Its unbelievable elegant, high class perfume Something not for work, something for going out, dinner, celebrations, romantic nights, or when you want to impress someone !!! How is something that smells so d*** good so inexpensive?! This is a near perfect fragrance for me and I crave it sometimes. I think this one is perfectly unisex. I can't wear 'manly man' colognes but this one mixes with my body chemistry perfectly. Sweet, warm deliciousness, and for the price you can't go wrong!

Hey Peter !! Yes you're right on some things but at the end they are so similar!! Yes!! Perry M opens whit a blast of alcohol but Jaques don't have the most refined open in the world!! Lol!! Both are chipies!! Jaques it's better 100% but they smell simillar!! Just try both at the same time and let me know!!

I have this juice for two weeks! Since then, i have been complimented several times! It ́s a wonderfull fragrance...light, but strong enough to be noticed everywhere and for everyone. Excellent blind buy...one of the best i ́ve ever made! I recommend it...surely recommend!

Wow Fath Pour L`Homme is a very nice amber with spices. The dry down is very sweet and I can smell some patchouli. Very masculine and elegant. This is definitely a hidden gem and under the radar.

Wonderful scent from the 90's a true masterpiece far from those generic scents! But the new reformulation has toned down the scent from the original scent such a pity !

I think Fath Pour Homme is absolutely lovely! I'm a woman, and I wear it. It's gorgeously sweet, but also very smooth and rich spicy and earthy. I love it totally!

tHIS is a vg fragrance for around $40. comforting and cozy and vg longevity on me. I get spicebomb like memories with this one.

I blind bought this because of the reviews and the $20 price tag. It has taken me several wearings to come to terms with Fath Pour Homme, and I can finally say I enjoy this fragrance. It was not love or even like at first sniff... My initial impression was not favorable. Based on the reviews, I was not prepared for what it is. This is an old school dandy. It’s more powdery than I expected (I am very surprised Fragrantica does not list “powdery” in the Main Accords). Sweet, powdery, almost delicate- a man’s “perfume” if ever there was one. The immediate image this scent conjured was a foppish, aristocratic gentleman from France or England c.a. 1910. Dressed to the nines, thin mustache, may engage in pugilism with his shirtsleeves rolled up if his honor were impinged. Drives a motorcar. Manly, yes, but masculine from a past age. Do I like it now? Yes, now that I appreciate what it is. It is not a modern scent. Expect powdery tonka and a little muskiness lurking below raspberry, florals, and mild spices. If that sounds good, you’ll enjoy this. Update: this is growing on me the more I wear it. Addictive- really lovely!

J.FATH is an Artistic Fragance done right: • delicious Raspberry Chocolate Rose • comes off very CLASSY, great for dress up • great for work & board meetings, and airplanes • great as an intimate Date Scent • Its a $26 Niche ;-) Sadly, J.FATH doesn't Project at all (agree with the last reviewer) initial spray: has only 2~3" scent radius. 30 min later: died down to barely 1" scent radius 45 min later: collapse completely into Skin Scent I get 3 hrs of Skin Scent for a total longevity of 4hrs. J.FATH is beautiful & delicious. When I spray it on my hand, all I want to do is sniff it all night. Unfortunately, it lacks projection, so no one can smell it unless they leans in for a kiss. J.FATH is best suited as an intimate Date Scent. I am torn: as I do ♥ the way it smell, but I"m equally disappointed by its soft performance (to put it mildly). I recommend that [ BUY IT ] if you're a Fragrance "Collector". J.FATH is "Beautiful" Soft Unique, Charming yet Masculine, a mature gentlemans scent for $26. [ SKIP IT ] for Practical Minded person who USES his cologne for compliments, or attention.

Imho My impression: 1. Not much citruses on me!... Actually it's a good thing, cause I'm not a huge fan of strong citruses. Where are little bit of mint and lavender. 2. Very ambery indeed and little bit flowery on very nice woody base. 3. I got some Tonka beans, violet and patchouli too. 4. I also noticed some tobacco note in general that exist from the beginning until the end. Why so much tobacco?... I don't see any tobacco in pyramid... I already have a "Dreamer" by Versace. Well, Never mind! 5. Not too sweet and very elegant stylish creation. 6. Yep, its little bit spicy, warm and cozy :) 7. Packaging ,bottle and spray have a good quality. 8. Great choice for budget buyers. I wish ,I wish ,I wish it could last longer!,,, Longevity and sillage are moderate. I think that new version / reformulation is far from being complete 5 stars. i own a bottle of the original formulation which i bought 2001 while visiting a fragrance house downtown san francisco where i was going to create my own fragrance mix. someone in the store was sampling it and i got a whiff and had to have it. the amber, rose and tonka bean are what hits me first, then a boquet of citrus and floral notes which are very satisfying. as it drys down and the wood notes and musk lend foundation i am instantly taken back to that fragrance house as if i never left. i love this concoction and have been wearing it since that day in rotation with other favorites. it was my first favorite amber and still competes with the ambers i purchase today. i havent smelled the new formula of this classic, but i assure you the original is very satisfying. i would have loved to have purchased it at todays prices, but i paid $75 and it was well worth it

Oh my god the sillage of this is amazing. Both in performance and smell. I'm a younger guy, mid twenties, and I like it. It smells a tad bit old man ish, but it's not too much like a heavy vetiver. Theres just enough "old man" smell to make you smell like a baller; classy. De classe. I get super amber and Tonka with a hint off raspberry to sweeten it. Again, the sillage is really pretty. Yeah, maybe a bit femme, but it's still great. Seriously, with my hand at my side, I can smell it strongly with just a splash on my hand. UPDATE: Okay, so after about 2 hours, and still smelling it very strong on my hand, I decided to wipe it away with some alcohol. Didn't do a thing. Waited another hour, washed my hands, like SCRUBBED them, still smell it! Crazy for a cheap cologne. Just to give some perspective of performance

This perfume is the only one, besides Issey Miyake L'eau Bleue, which, smelling for the first time, made me stand up from my seat and go somewhere without knowing where or why. I think, it was my amazement. Thank you Lanier for your review, it was most edifying. After reading it I felt compelled to open the box, which, being a blind buy, was to be returned tomorrow, after reading that it is like CK Obsession; which I can not stand! or it is too sweet; which is worst than Obsession. This one is unlike any other, it will turn heads; it will twist thoughts; it will turn loose the imagination of people who will be lucky enough as to take a whiff of this perfume. Amazing.

CH Men Privé drydown. I think i slightly prefer CH over this. Pretty simple. Discontinued and forgotten. I think you will not missed it. A sweet woody tonka bean. That's all. Decent and appealing. EDIT: After some wears, i feel like the opening is the best part. the drydown is ok. BUT, this came before many other similar scents. In the opening i get a metallic but juicy fresh raspberry. it reminds me of TL a bit. I can see TL being inspired by this one. Rochas Man also came to mind. They're all in the same family but different from each other. Overall, this is nice if you can find it for a good price. I would not bother much unless i find it for 50€ or less.

I'm sorry, but Jacques Fath Pour Homme smell NOTHING like Perry Ellis M or Chanel Allure Homme. You should have your NOSE check. Its an insult to compare the two: Perry Ellis (M) open with a blast of synthetic alcohol, uber pungent pepper that is quite off putting. In term of character: it is Quite Aggressive. It is also uber strong and quite offensive when sprayed. Jacque Fath PH, on the other hand, has a Soft, Tame, Gentlemanly behavior. It is one of the least aggressive cologne I'd own. You get a soft projection of a lovely raspberry rose chocolate. Quite lovely, but not strong @all. In short, they are nothing alike.

At first this seems like a traditionally masculine fragrance, with the usual lavender, tonka, woods, and spices. However, as it evolves, it proves to be a full-bodied, sweet scent, with a definite vanilla base, almost an ambery oriental with a bit of sandalwood. It has good sillage and longevity and is pleasant throughout its entire development. My recent sampling had included a lot of duds, so it was refreshing to stumble on something that I would actually consider wearing. At about $10/ounce, this cologne provides a lot of bang for the buck.

hey man this one is sooo good . I got a sample from "aus liebe zum duft" and keep going back to it. sweet and sexy, a little citrus, a little amber, a little musk. I can smell all of it. The drydown is just awesome. For an inexpensive fragrance its just unbelievably good. A must for my collection.

I think this was reformulated. It smells good but It dies out after 10 minutes, With no sillage and projection at all. It is not even good for work, unless you have a decant and you spray yourself every 10 minutes. I will not be buying it again.

Floral, spicy, ambry, fresh all in one scent and extremely well balanced. This is a really nice fragrance for the cooler months. I have a perfume that is in the same ball park : Adnan B - amber. Worth sampling, this is class in a bottle.

In Italy no one knows this fragrance so I ordered a vial from USA. It's strong, deep, rich with a touch of sweetness; i think it could work better during cold months.Classy.

quite spicy with a fizzy character, nostalgic vibes from the small grocery stores in New Delhi, where they have loads of different spices and detergents etc all in the same store. A soft pass, not something you can easily wear.

Got a sample for my husband. It smells like Obsession. Which, unfortunately, I don't like. It smells like coriander, cloves, and cinnamon. Sweet and heavy.

Ladies and gents...this is a "smooth operator." I've had this scent for a while now but never really wore it out and about. However, yesterday, I wore this beauty to work and it was a HIT, literally. Several unsolicited compliments, which I did not expect because it's soft and smooth...not loud at all. I have both bottles, the vintage and so called reformulated. The vintage bottle is shown in the pic above and the reformulated bottle has the brown top. I've sprayed them both on separate arms and there is no difference. I have over 300 bottles and this fragrance is niche quality in my opinion. Niche in the since that it is smooth, classy, well blended, and makes you feel like the consummate professional when you walk in the office. Trust me, no one in the office will give you that look--you know, the cologne guy or gal look. Instead, they will want to get close to you because the scent makes them want to come closer...and get a whiff! This smells like MONEY! This will make you feel like a boss! My wife loves this one me...truthfully, that's all I really care about. However, it's nice to get compliments. If you can find the original version shown in the pic above, get it! Again, I have both the old/new version and there is not difference, not on my skin. In my opinion, this leans more male...not a unisex fragrance in my opinion. However, a sexy, confident woman can wear this with no issues. On my skin it does not smell sweet or cloying. It smells very masculine (e.g., like Jaipur or Obsession, etc.) This is for the confident guy who's cool and calm at all times. You know, the kind of guy who commands attention when he walks in the room without being obnoxious. I see guys like Denzel Washington, Derek Jeter, or George Clooney rocking this type of scent. Age? I don't believe in that type rhetoric---if you buy it, you can wear it; however, this would be great for someone 40+, but anyone over 25 can rock this if he or she is calm, cool, and collected! Just FYI---I bought both of my bottles from FragranceNet.com! Please don't go out and spend $80 or $90 dollars on this scent, it's not that serious unless you really desire a bottle.

کیفیت بسیار بالای عطرهای چاک فت بر هیچ عطر بازی پوشیده نیست ... اما ژاک فت پور اوم ... چند وقت پیش که با خریدم آقای عباسی ( پرفیوم شاپینگ ) ی دکنت از این ادکلن فرستاده بود ‌ . انقدر مجذوب فضای تاپ و شیک و مردونه اش شدم که نشد نگیرمش ...😎 . ژاک فت پور اوم ی ادکلن کاملا امبری هست چه امبری؟ دقیقا همون اکورد امبری که من خیلی دوست دارم ... رزینی با اوردوزی از لابدانوم و وانیل کم شروع این ادکلن بشکل عجیبی نفیس و پرمایه هست استارتی کهربایی رزینی که حس تند کومارین و لاوندر فضای ماسکولار رو درکنار آکورد رزینی و کمی حس فیزی و سیتروسی درخشان و پررنگ کرده ... من وقتی اینو چندبار اسپری کردم با اینکه فضای بویایی آشنایی برام داشت ولی ی کشش عجیبی هم تو من ایجاد کرد . ( غریب آشنا) تو قلب عطر ی حس فلورال و نرم و پودری مثل نوازش میاد رو آکورد کهربا . که منو بیاد عطرهای شالیمار و کورماندل شانل میندازه ولی حس تند و سوزان کورمارین که با پچولیه ادغام شده تو قلب کار پرطپش میزنه نمیزاره فضای کلی رایحه زنونه بشه ... بنابراین منو باز به یاد ی ادکلن مردونه کهربایه دیگه میندازه . ( کارل لاگرفیلد ) هرچه از عمر بوی ادکلن میگذره شدتش به فضای مردونه و کلاسیک بیشتر و تاکیدش به فضای امبری بیشتر میشه . این ادکلن خیلیییی بهتر از چیزیه که فکرشو میکردم و واقعا عاشقش شدم ی جوری محکم استنشاقش میکنم که بوی کومارین سینوس هامو مییسوزونه🤤 . پخش بوی خیلی خوبی داره تو دو ساعت اول بعدش ملایم میشه رو پوست و تا ۶-۷ ساعت راحت استشمام میشه ... از اون ادکلنهاس که اگه چند روز پشت سر هم بزنی کل جون و تن و لباس های آدم بوی ادکلن رو میگیره به خودش ... شدیدا پیشنهاد میکنم اگه به سبک کارهای پرمایه و مردونه استخوندار علاقه دارید این ژاک فت پور اوم رو گوشه دهنتون داشته باشید ... .

Hmmmmm, it's really hard to place this one. I've been wearing a sample for the last 2 days and am finding myself becoming more and more attracted to this scent. Right off the bat, it's a raspberry candy vanilla/tonka mix, which gives it this carbonated soda vibe. It's very sweet (though effervescent) and remains that way into the drydown, so if you don't like sweeties, this is a pass. But in the heart, it turns into a very retro classy sweetness, with the amber, lavender, patchouli and some other florals that I can't identify. The whole thing finishes with a creamy, elegant vanilla which evokes an aura of maturity. Really good stuff. Imagine: It's the late 1930s and Michael waits patiently at the bar for his date. The lights are dim, but the live Jazz band is in full swing. After a full week of business, it'll be great to finally try out the new shoes. "What'll it be Jack?", asks the bartender. "Whiskey, straight", replies Michael. Sweet hooch eases the nerves. And good timing too, becomes here she comes...wow...what a dress. Think: Gentlemanly, Sweet, Raspberry, Timeless Overall: 8/10 - I'm generally not a fan of the sweet stuff, but this is definitely growing on me. Batta Bing, Batta Boom.

Intriguing is a word to describe Fath Pour L'Homme. A truly unique scent. Nothing smells like this in my collection. And a challenging fragrance when it comes to examining and breaking it down into discernible notes (I do get amber but not the usual warm, glowing amber, to me this is a more austere amber that is less embracing). This may be due to it having so many different notes (albeit, an unusual note composition) and the blending of so many notes not typically together. It is timeless smelling, and reminds me (only in vibe) of throwback fragrances like Caron Pour Homme or Rochas Moustache or Guerlain Habit Rouge. The actual release year of 1998 bewilders me, I assumed it was much older. It is unisex and could serve as a year-round scent, maybe not the hottest summer days but summer nights. Score: 8 out of 10 Would I purchase a replacement bottle? I think I would. Weirdly, I grab the bottle a lot considering I do not really understand the overall scent. Not always the easiest bottle to snag in the States, but if you collect fragrances, I recommend purchasing it, it’s a good one to have especially in a larger collection.
