Anglais is my first sampling of this independent niche brand, based in Warsaw. It seems fitting that an Englishman should review a perfume intended to evoke the British climate. Anglais opens with an authentic and persistent lavender note (like the effect of rubbing the stems though your hands, just before the flowers have opened), based on a high quality essential oil. Warmth unfolds in the middle notes, with a strong agrestic bias: more hay than moss to my nose. In the dry down, great wafts of lavender continue to pulse through, evoking a walk through a field of lavender into the wooded landscape beyond. This is not a delicate fougere. It is earthy and complex, a reflection of the high concentration of perfumes used, and the density of the material. Lavender dominates throughout. Sillage and projection are strong. The overall quality is outstanding.

I had only 2 atomization on the back of the hand, and it was a blast of lavender, very very strong. Reminded me of tea tree essential oil. Had to wait at least 2 hour to start detecting the other notes. After many hours it settles down to a more balanced Fougere. Too strong the opening for my taste.
