Treebuoy

I really wasn't sure about it for the first year or two I had it. I even tried to sell it at one point, but suddenly, I'm very much loving it. It's pine sap and an almost minty fresh pine needle. As straightforward as it sounds, it's still hard to explain. It doesn't project much, but also isn't as light as I thought it might be. Lasts a moderate amount of time. I put it on my wrist for periodic recalibrating comfort sniffs.

The Anise is stronger than expected in this. It’s also a little lighter than expected. It’s aromatic and woody, but then with that strong anise note. When initially applied inside I wasn’t so sure what kind of blind buy I had gotten... Then I went outside in the crisp air of a late winter afternoon, and the fragrance immediately made sense. It’s like it opened up and became part of the environment, and had an instantly soothing/calming effect. I guess this one needs room to breathe, and it definitely better as it wafts around you than smelling up close. However the projection and strength are kinda low, so it’s not like you ware carrying around a scent clouds of this stuff, although that would be amazing. Overall quite nice.

This is so much lighter than I imagined it would be after such an appealing description! Unlike Marianne for me the cedar took centre stage, drowning out most of the composition as it dried. I would have loved a bit more spice to shine through and especially the green mandarin which was so realistically sweet but woefully brief. Amazing longevity, 12+ hours of intimate scent. I strongly feel this is one I may revisit in time.

Didn't really know what to expect from this one. I ordered it along with a sample of Burvuvu as it sounded like the only other strictly woodsy offering from JSP. It started off a really lovely jammy balsam fir, but there's a sour/musty note that really puts me off. It smells a touch better when wafting through clothes, but when smelling it direct off skin I just don't enjoy it.

I LOVE THIS! Full bottle worthy - I hope he makes it in a larger size in a sprayable form. it opens woody, herbal, shrubby, cedar but not typical cedar ...fresh cut wood, spices, delicately sweet & camphorated menthol like tea notes like the description it's fresh & slightly cooling but also warm, resinous, & addictive this is odd to me because im not typically a fan of tea in fragrances but there's some wonderful blending magic happening here... beautiful, uplifting, transcends time & season i used about 2-3 mls worth of the oil on my arm, it ranges between skin to medium projection with noticeable wafts for several hours .. Bravo!
