Actually I didn't know George Sand before sampling this. I read the blurbs and have a somewhat vague idea of Sand's androgynous characteristics--and I think it performs just like that--androgynous. In the markets there are fragrances for men, for women, unisex--but what do these labels mean? Specifically here what I want to ask is "what does unisex mean?" Does it mean it fits both women and men (as fragrantica shows) or just androgynous--or even a-sexual? I have sampled the whole Jardins D'Ecrivains on the same day, and this is my favorite in the whole like--and is the first full bottle. For me the combination of neroli and tobacco is quite pleasant and strikes me so much that I nearly consider it my signature scent. And it doesn't have any vanilla (I am always left confused by the raves of vanilla-creamy-sweet fragrances)! All in all, beautiful and androgynous. Love it. Sometimes I would like to be like this, but other days I may wear Fahrenheit. It's just different moods. PS. the letdown: on me the longevity and projection is not satisfying--especially for an EDP. (And actually the whole Jardins D'Ecrivains have the same problem...just weak and not-so-weak)

I agree with most of what is already been mentioned below. George starts with a strong citrus opening but very soon afterwards arrives the tobacco, coffee and the balsam. The scent is austere and dry thus it's an office and work-friendly more towards an executive or professional job. I haven't had the chance to smell Dior's Eau Sauvage EDP 2018 but I sense similarity with Dior's Eau Sauvage EDP 2013, which is one of my favourites, although George is drier in its nature whereas Eau Sauvage EDP 2013 is moister! George can also work for dates or evening wear but is not suitable for casual use. The scent is formal but not exclusively for males! It takes me on a long enough and complete journey from the first spray till the end drydown ; therefore, I find George has good performance as far as I'm concerned and suitable for all seasons depending on the amount of spray. I look forward to sampling Merlowe from the same house. 8.5/10 Very Well done and highly recommended if you enjoy the note of tobacco.

I have declared war on malicious viruses. Perfume, bath, soap all that can keep people at a social distance. The coat of my arm of the evening has glued itself to the back of the hand and breathes softly of heliotrope and neroli despite the splash and rubbing at the bathtub. She started up so masculine and strong, well mixed with musk, myrrh, tobacco and coffee, so George deserves a little quiet moment before we move on in our battle (refill on the skin) and get to be as soft and feminine as she can. Kvällens vapendragare har limmat sig fast på handryggen och pustar mjukt av heliotrop och neroli trots badkars skvalp och gnugg. Hon startade upp så maskulint och starkt, välblandat av mysk, myrra, tobak och kaffe, så George förtjänar en liten lugn stund innan vi drar vidare i vår batalj (påfyllnad på hyn) och får vara så mjuk och feminin hon kan. Omtänksamme George.

One of the most truly unisex fragrance I've smelled in a while ! The opening notes have a very cologne-like feel with the neroli and citrus, but once it settles down... The neroli becomes real orange blossom, sweet, sensual, but still balanced by the dry tobacco, soft leather and mastic (lentisque). I just keep smelling it, it's so fascinating !

Like entering an ancient herbalist's shop. Wondrous sillage. I find it particularly enthralling.
