Already with the first spray, my nose is gently stimulated by intensely fragrant lemons, like in a citrus orchard where the harvest continues just after the rain. You can smell the leaves, the stems, and the freshly picked lemon itself, even those that have fallen, burst open and with the juice give off that unmistakable scent. Together with the bitter bite of the lime and verbena, it gives this scent a stronger and somewhat bitter vibe and a little more shelf life. This fresh and purifying cascade of citrus lasts for a moment, then seamlessly adds the oh-so-typical and sun-kissed French lavender. Together with the unmistakable and necessary trio of oakmoss, amber, and rosewood, the fragrance takes on a deeper meaning and durability, the citrus remains fresh and the lavender sunny. For a moment, the rooted earthiness of the vetiver and coriander comes into play, but they quickly dive away so as not to get in the way of the lead role of the lavender and lemon. Auxiliary troops needed to make the main players shine. In the meantime, I close my eyes and with the typical sounds of Django Reinhardt in the background, I imagine myself once again in the hinterland of Menton. Mountain meadows full of wildflowers, citrus, and olive groves in the distance, and high in the mountains sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea down below. Life can be so beautiful!
