La Belle Fleur Terrible

Okay so I've posted here about this scent before. It is my favorite fragrance ever. My signature scent. I bought a bunch of backups when it was released. But, BIG NEWS! Yes, Macys and other retailers did rerelease a limited batch in late 2023. Many came in a plastic & cardboard box instead of the can. I bought one. Same exact juice. I just tore it open out of fear from seeing another review saying the Macys release was reformulated and smells different but mine smells exactly the same as the last 3 full bottles of original release I finished. However, it looks like it's getting officially released for real later on this year (2024). Theres already another page on fragrantica for it. Looks like it went through a slight reformulation. I can't speak to the quality, but it appears they switched the water lily note for lotus. Frankly, I always have thought Lily and Lotus are quite similar smelling, and all the other notes match, so I'm hoping it will basically be the same scent. Wondering if this had something to do with the fragrance restrictions that recently took effect in Europe - I know some lily of the valley notes were banned. The name of this scent is changing also, it no longer will be fleur terrible, it's now named "La Belle Paradise Garden." Frankly, I liked the old name, as *my* name is the name of a type of flower, so it made me laugh a bit when I wore it to think of myself as a "terrible flower." Same bottle, mostly the same packaging, some websites are showing this will come in a can instead. It appears that it will more or less be the same juice. Hasn't officially been rereleased in the US yet but I am finding a few foreign websites selling it (many in Brazil along with a few Brazillian reviewers who claim they've had it for sale in that country for more than a month already). I'm waiting until the official US release as I just spent all my perfume money blind buying other Quentin Bisch frags. I have problems, lol. Happy shopping, frag heads! Also, just to be obnoxious and throw my 2-cents in regarding a few other recent reviews I've seen for this scent: This is one of the longest lasting fragrances I own. The original La Belle only lasts 2 hrs max on me and the La Belle Le Parfum lasts about 6-10 hrs. This lasts 12hrs+. I can smell it on clothing several days later. It isn't a very loud, sharp, "LOOK AT ME" type scent, so it won't slap you across the face to remind you it's there. It's a very powerful skin scent (legere), more of an "aura" that radiates 1-3 feet or more off you, but feels intimate and cozy. In warmer temperatures this smells a bit more tropical to my nose and in the winter, the powdery iris stands out more, so that may explain inconsistencies in the reviews. It sticks to my hair for more days at a time and I can still smell it after I shampoo my hair. I'm usually a big oversprayer and frequently complain of poor performance or my inability to smell soft subtle frags, but this is one of the top 3 best performing fragrances in my 100+ scent collection. I only require 6-8 sprays for this to form a scent bubble around me all day and into the evening with a drydown I still smell in the morning. Almost every other perfume I own requires 10-20 sprays to get them to last half this long. Occasionally I will go a bit nose blind to this if I wear it too much day after day, but every time I think it's mostly disappeared, a stranger will approach me from 5+ feet away to ask what scent I'm wearing. I have people interrupt their conversations to stop me and talk about how good I smell. It's my #1 most complimented fragrance I've ever owned, and I've only owned it for 2 years and worn perfumes for 25+ years. Clearly not for everyone, though I am baffled by the criticisms.

This was on my wish list for awhile but the prices were too jacked up, so I finally just received a bottle I scored at a reasonable price. I like it, though it's a bit of a strange fragrance I know some people wouldn't be super into. It smells very nice. The notes listed here are incomplete, as with most JPG scents. Upon spraying, I got a spicy fig scent. I think this is the note some are calling "coconut," as many people seem to think fig and coconut smell the same, but my nose reads them as quite different. I'd say it's a fig similar to womanity, as another reviewer mentioned, but more of a common spicy fig that I've sampled in a few other scents (Voluspa's Forbidden Fig, Katy Perry Indie, Angel Eau Croisere 2020). The fig mellows out pretty quick and transitions to a spicy vanilla scent that reminds me a lot of the original La Belle & La Belle Le Parfum. The spices are pretty much identical. I love the spices in those fragrances, La Belle Le Parfum is one of my fav scents. Once it dries down a bit more, the powdery play-doh nutty iris begins to come through, giving it a warm spicy nutty fragrance that I think is where the Hypnotic Poison comparisons come in. Theres a sweet aquatic water lily note that plays in the background giving it a fruity tropical feel. There's a lot of different notes that don't seem cohesive when I try to list them, but I can pick them out separately and they blend together to make a unique fragrance. I'd say overall, it comes off like a fruity spiced fig scent, which to some others, would come off as more of a fruity spiced coconut scent. It does remind me of the original La Belle, but the lily makes this read as more spiced tropical fruity and less like the spiced pear fall/winter vibe of the original La Belle. It's a gentle fragrance. I feel like I could wear it all year as it doesn't read as purely sunscreen or summer, also spicy fig scents tend to make me think of fall and winter more. The iris gives this a chic maturity that breaks it away from the youthfulness of the common teen/20something fragrances. Though it definitely reads like a La Belle flanker to me, it almost reminds me more of Classique in the way JPG made a sexy intimate scent that feels more suited to grown women than young girls. It's a lovely scent. Sticks close to the skin, but lasts and radiates nicely for a long time. It has GREAT longevity. It lasts on clothing for more than 8 hours, and my sweaters smell amazing sprayed with this, giving me a nice scent bubble. If I spray before bed, I wake up smelling like I just sprayed this an hour ago. It lasts way longer than the original La Belle on my skin (OG La Belle only lasts an hour or two max on my skin, which is why I prefer the Le Parfum flanker). Hopefully it will be rereleased, it's a great addition to my collection and I like it a lot more than other scents with a similar note profile. I feel like I was trying to find something sweet to layer with angel eau croisere to make it smell more like this. I will be buying a backup bottle once I can find another one for regular retail price.

Update: Performance in warmer weather is amazing. The temperature has been 71 to 75°F for the past 3 days, I spilled some on some paper towels while I was making decants and the paper towels smelled so good that I did not want to throw them away— figured it would be a nice air freshener. lol. Every time I walked by that spot I’d smell it, today is day 4, walked by and went “wow what’s that? It smells amazing.“ It was this fragrance on the paper towels, projecting like crazy. 🟢🟢🟢 As promised, here's a bit more detail after a few hours of wearing JPG La Belle Fleur Terrible eau de parfum legere. Currently exclusive to The Fragrance Shop in the UK, couldn't find it in any other stores/sites, not sure where else it's being sold in Europe. I don't know if and when it would come to the US. Notes per JPG website: Iris, blue water lily, vanilla, ginger, aquatic notes. Opening-- initial burst of sweetness with a mild saltiness in there as well. Opening is floral which I'm assuming is the blue Water Lily (I suspect there are more florals in this that haven't been disclosed yet). There is also something I'm suspecting is the ginger that gives what I can describe as a bit of effervescence-- imagine chopping up fresh ginger, that burst of freshness that tingles in your nostrils. I don't smell ginger, I get the 'effect' of ginger in a sense. Iris shows up about the 15-25 minute mark and sticks around till the dry down but this is a very shy Iris, cushioned in again, a shy vanilla equally balanced with aquatic/watery notes in the dry down. This is 'legere' in every sense of the word, no one note is loud or overpowering. I applied 2 sprays on my inner wrist. It is overall a light fragrance, with moderate projection. Becomes a skin scent in about 3 hours but I expect it will last longer in hotter weather (Temp is mid 40s F today), on clothing or with overspraying. This would be great for hot summer days. If you hated the previous La Belles, good news, this has little in common with them. If you hate the typical beachy fragrances with coconut and yellow florals and sunscreen vibes, this might be your summer go-to.

I came back here to just say I think this is my favorite fragrance ever. I own hundreds of perfumes and have tried hundreds more. I'm 37 and have been into scents since I was 11. I don't LOVE all the same scents & designers & follow the same trends as most people, I have a quirky taste even though I own plenty of "basic" common scents. But I absolutely love this. I'm mad I slept on sampling it so long. I ordered 6 bottles and have still been hunting for more. Reviewers are all over the place when describing this scent, so let me jump in and add a bit more chaos: I find this scent isn't a dupe or super close smelling, but does somewhat remind me of JHAG Sunny Side Up and Katy Perry Indie. Both are sort of sweet, spicy, figgy coconut musky wood smelling with. When I wear Fleur Terrible, I think the combo of iris and vetiver give it a similar expensive femme-leaning unisex sweet and spicy woodsy vibe. I think this scent smells warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It's so versatile, I can wear it any time. But I do organize my frags by scent/mood similarities, and this sits with SSU and Indie and a couple of my other fav woody scents. SSU was a fav scent of mine but tended to lack the strength I require and would turn to pencil shavings at times on me. Indie was nice, but very weak and lacked complexity. LBFT has similar notes I appreciated from those scents, but with added sweetness, better quality and performance, and La Belle spiciness. Also, this frag lasts very long. Much longer than the OG La Belle and about twice as long as LB Le Parfum. It lasts for days on clothing, and makes me save my dirty laundry for sniffing. It was such a winner. I haven't seen any actual dupes or smell-alikes, the suggested ones here all seem very different from what I've tried, Please oh please bring it back!!

Blind buy influenced by Youtube. I will say the canister and bottle made me happy on their own. I love JPG classique and always have a bottle. I do not own any JPG La Belle other than this one. I was not expecting much but this is such a beautiful watery scent but not in the vein of Acqua de Gio. This is a watery floral. Florals are tough with me but this juice smells better on skin than in hair or on clothing which is very atypical for me. I think this will stand up to heat and shine in it actually. On first spray I thought meh, it's ok but after about 5 minutes in melded with my skin and became beautiful. In my hair and on the robe I'm wearing it does not smell as good. The atomizer on this is sooo good btw. I smelled rootbeer or Dr. Pepper on initial blast but it faded fast. The aquatic note is very present and takes a side seat to whatever DNA is there. I'm assuming it is "La Belle" but I have never smelled it. I dare say I can detect a smidge of classique in there. On my skin this was an initial "pretty" but bloomed into beautiful. I purchased the 3.5 oz for about $135 off Amazon and I think that is a good deal. I was expecting a small bottle tbh. Husband said "smells good" as he buried his head in my chest. Husband does not like or understand my fragrance journey most of the time. If you can get it just do so. Unless you hate watery florals, this is so worth the purchase.

I got a bottle of this on the resale market as I was so mad that it sold out so quickly and was never restocked. This is a beautiful summer fragrance but you have to really like water Lilly if you decide to pay the higher resale price for it. It starts as very strong water lily that is slightly aquatic. It is very pretty and well rounded, but very very much aquatic water lily. As it dries down you start to pick up a La Belle vibe, but it is like La Belle that has been on your skin for 10 to 12 hours. Very faint but there. I don't pick up any vanilla but I get the iris as the aquatic water lily settles down but before the slight faint La Belle in the dry down. It is a lovely scent as all JPG fragrances are BUT if you didn't get it don't think you have missed out on something very distinct to La Belle. It is only very slight in its representation and overall is just a strong water lily iris fragrance that is just light but nothing that is falling in love worthy. But if you are a diehard JPG fragrance lover like me than the reseller prices might be something you can justify buying.

Notes per another website: Blue water lily, Vanilla, Heliotrope, Iris, Woody notes, Almond, Ginger, Ylang-ylang, Bergamot. Blind buy due to my instant love for Divine. I do see a resemblance, Fleur Terrible is a very pretty salty yellow floral with a definite coconut nuance and a musky drydown. Wear-time on me is about 3.5 hours before it turns to a skinscent. If you’re wondering, Divine has an aromatic note that some find challenging, but that I love. Fleur Terrible lacks that note, and amps up the aquatic salty nuance. As such, this perfume has facets of other fragrances that flipped through my olfactory memory like a Rolodex, making me wonder if this is redundant to own. I caught a bit of Aura, with it’s green vanilla facet. Then a bit of Bronze Goddess Nuit, with its salty ylang accord. Alien Goddess pranced it’s way through, maybe the Bergamot-heliotrope combination tickling my memories? All of the above are well liked by me. I believe the more I wear Fleur Terrible, the more I’ll come to love it for it’s own sake. Another well done Gaultier/ Bisch fragrance. No regrets!

I purchased this for my wife after she tested it in the store. It is a beautiful scent and after two days of sitting on a test card, I can still smell the scent. It's a very light and airy floral fragrance that to me is simply intoxicating on my wife. She wore it yesterday by applying it to one wrist and then rubbing her wrists together and then rubbing her wrists on her neck. It had great sillage but was not overpowering. I would say it gave her a two to three feet aura of fragrance. As the day progressed, I could still pick it up and it shined in the heat. After about 8 hours, it hung close to the skin. However, she must have rubbed her hair, and the fragrance was transferred and held on a bit longer. It was just a beautiful close scent into the evening at about 12 hours. The fragrance goes on and it does transform a bit, but to me once the dry-down starts it is pretty linear, which I don't think is a bad thing.

A great friend of mine just got me this fairy tale bottle 2 weeks ago. I live at the end of the world (Chile) so chances to get it before it was discontinued were not on my side. The bottle it's dreamy, but honestly Quentin, it doesn't compensate the absent of Sonia .... What happened? Both la Belle's are a mega safe blind buy for anyone ... instant love for a crowd pleaser but also a very elegantly balanced fragrance. La Fleur Terrible lacks the surprising element, it so linear, boring ... I wouldn't say a BAD scent but when the market offers you tons of alternatives and the niche market it's rocking it, I believe you just cannot play it safe. I will give it a chance with low temperatures in winter, but for the moment I will layer with Classique Essence to cheer those florals up a little bit. I still don't get why Sonia nose was left out if they did together those other great fragrances.

This is surprisingly really nice! A very summer, tropical, and sweet scent. I smelled this on a card while randomly searching in macys for things I didn’t have and never really took this serious. La belle and La Belle le parfum are my favorite perfumes on the market currently with good girl legere being the all time favorite and this comes into that category. This is a fresh beachy breezy scent that has the depth and character of much more. It’s not just suntan lotion, it’s blended extremely well that I can’t pick one thing from the other. It relates to mugler alien goddess but is much better in terms of quality and performance. If this description sounds like you would enjoy this, this is definitely worth the money. High quality fragrance not getting a lot of talk.

Oh Wow! I finally got this, thanks to Sirena78, who mentioned finding it on Amazon. I don't understand the negative reviews at all, as this is both pretty and unusual. I am not finding it to be even remotely similar to La Belle which is a typical mall perfume of the recent years. If it reminds me of anything it would be Mugler's Croisiere mixed with a tiny drop of Nova. However, LBFT is way fresher, easier to wear, hot weather appropriate, and for some reason I am finding it quite beachy. It is very long lasting, very nice projection and will garner compliments. Could easily pass for niche. I have 650 perfumes and none smell like this. And let's not even talk about that bottle and packaging! Perfect ten!

I was excited to try this because I love a fresh iris but I'm not smelling any iris in this. As Amy Glam on Youtube stated, there's got to be more going on in this fragrance then just 3 notes. My first impression of this was a coconut water, fruit, and vanilla. Very tropical on my skin. Almost a mango like quality and definitely a slight woody note in the base. Strange, but on my skin, it's like a softer, more feminine SHL God of Fire. I don't like coconut on my skin, it's a bit cloying to me but I can see others really enjoying this and I would recommend others to try it. I love the presentation of the bottle though.

I just got this perfume from macys.com! I got a 15 or 20% discount there plus it came with a JPG backpack. Anyways I can still smell the La Belle in here, but this is more aquatic and beachy to me at the same time. This is unique to me because I don't think I often smell something that is aquatic, but also has a beach smell to me. The other unique thing is how you can still smell some of the original La Belle in here mixed in with the aquatic and beach vibes. I really find this smell to be unique! I am in love! Plus the bottle is absolutely beautiful 😍

Ok so first of I wanted to buy this just for the bottle and knowing it’s a limited edition. I just had to buy it! Personally I absolutely love it!!! Definitely not sweet as the previous la belles. I find them too sweet for my taste. This one is absolutely dreamy!! I feel like I’m on vacation next to the sea! I can see some reviews saying they cant sense the vanilla, after two hours I could definitely smell it! Definitely my favourite la belle!! So unique definitely a signature scent!! I wouldn’t recommend as a blind buy because of its uniqueness!!

I received the smaller bottle from my daughter-in-law, I think 1 ounce, at Christmas. I had wanted it for a long time, despite not smelling it, I love all JPG but couldn't find it. At last I found one unfortunately I am not a fan. I have been wearing Classique since it came out in the 90's. Maybe I am just used to sweeter JPG scents. Perhaps I will revisit it in the warmer months. But I found it headache inducing which seldom happens. My scent preferences are all over the place, so I am surprised.

Honestly, I bought this for the bottle to go with my other Classiques, but I am glad it also smells quite nice. It definitely transports me back to summer (I'm wearing it now when it's a little bit colder). I don't know but I smell coconut here, maybe it's from the vanilla? Anyway, though typically I enjoy more musky, subtle floral scents, I am glad to have this in my collection. I was also suprised by the sillage and longevity of this one. Hours later, I could still smell it after I got home.

Bought this before it was renamed and reformulated. The over price tag I had to pay to get it.. was stupid but WORTH IT. I couldn’t tell you how much I love this perfume. The water notes, how it sits on the skin, the beauty of wearing it while it’s raining.. every single dime is worth this buy. I’m sad it’s discontinued and I will rarely be using (rainy days, misty days, ice cold winter days) it to make it last as long as I can.

I really enjoy this fragrance! I have to admit I bought it mainly because of the beautiful bottle, a blind buy. I never really liked the original la belle. To me this is aquatic, fresh but sweet, but not overly sweet, the fragrance is simple, but have a depth to it, last really great on my skin and very long lasting on clothing. I’m really happy with this purchase, and I will wear this gem lots this summer ❤️

Perpetul Collector I am so glad my review prompted you to get a bottle and that you enjoy it! The weather is warming up and I pulled it out today and it is just such a lovely fragrance. I'm happy to be able to start wearing it. I agree with you 100% that it is unique and doesn't really smell like anything else. This beauty is a love for me and I feel lucky to have gotten my hands on a big bottle.

I adore the La Belle's and this was the hardest to find, but finally I got a bottle and I'm so glad I did. This is a really good fresh aquatic floral take on La Belle. I like this fragrance a lot. I love Gaultier Classique line, I own almost every single one of them 😊 I wasn't that keen on La Belle collection, but this one is different, it's aquatic, fresh, flowery, for me a perfect summer scent, a bit sweet but not too much, projection is strong and lasts on me all day but I have to admit I'm not easy on my sprays 😊

Tried it yesterday and I'm in 😍 I've went to try Eros pour Femme and Dylan Blue from Versace. But this one stole my ♥ At first sniff it did reminded me of Olympéa(just the vibe), but this one is better, maybe because it's a lighter but also because it is creamier (coconut cream) Edit: I'm hesitant, even though I love it, I want an intense version

I wanted this for so long. I was able to purchase a used bottle with a decent amount, probably 80 ml, I'm not sure if the scent changed but I don't get any vanilla. I no longer love the scent although I like it. I'm layering with Armaf Donna Italiano or sometimes with Dolce&Gabbana Pour Femme as they smell the same to me

Its so unique!!fresh,summery,bright.sillage is fantastic!i dont know why but gives me a"cucumber"vibe in a good way and kind of reminds me of Japan!!i really like it.it does not remind of the og but its so obvious cause especially le parfum,is dark and heavy and this is completely different

Der Duft ist alles, was ich für Frühling wollte- frisch, blumig und leicht süß! Ich hab den Original la Belle nicht gemocht und schnell weg gemacht, aber dieser Flanker ist sehr hübsch und langhaltig.

This is amazing and soon will be my new signature scent!! It is a lovely fresh tropical vanilla scent with strong opening and definitely long lasting.

I hunted down a tester in Rome, but Fleur Terrible was so off-putting on paper that I lost the courage to test it on skin. To me, it smelled like rotten melon and bananas in a metal bin. Without sharing my first impressions, my husband sniffed the card and said it smells like fruity trash. The next day I happened to come across another tester and decided to try it on skin. On me, the opening was super juicy, almost an overly ripe tropical fruit mix of melon, mango, creamy banana, and coconut. The opening projected well off my skin and lasted a good hour and a half. Then the fruitiness quieted down to a generic soft sweetness accompanied by the aquatic water lily. The iris comes off clean as opposed to earthy or powdery. The entire thing lasted for five hours on a hot and sweltering day. I get why people often dismiss pleasant, fruity fragrances as "body spray" type scents. However, the quality is here and JPGFT has Quentin Bisch's signature all over it. If you are a fan of his work and you like fun, flirty, youthful scents, you may enjoy this. The juice is not worth the full price. The bottle is stunning. UPDATE: Smells much better after it macerates! I'm totally getting Angel Eau Croissiere 2020 sans the magnolia and patchouli, which I love.

I agree with previous reviewer- Joshhiggins32, this is actually a really nice scent. It has nothing to do with the original La Belle, they don't even share the same DNA, the only similarity is the bottle shape and tin outer box. The design is absolutely gorgeous, I love the blue glass and embroidery design, very pretty collector's item. The scent itself is floral and and I detect all the mentioned notes and also I feel like I can smell the creamy coconut note or something similar to it. It is a very nice warm weather scent, I am curious to see how I'd like it in a colder weather. The projection is ok, I tried not to overspray it (used it only on pulse points on my arms, behind ears) , since JPG fragrances are known to be "loud and long-lasting", but actually this is not the case with this fragrance. After 6 hours it was barely there on my skin, and after 8 hours it was pretty much undetectable. The projection was moderate, definitely not a "beast mode" like original La Belle or Scandal. Maybe if I sprayed it on my clothes or hair, it would last longer and project better. But I feel like with this fragrance too much application at once will be too much and suffocating.

This is an interesting flanker! I still smells the spicy pear and vanilla DNA of La Belle, even though not all its original notes are listed for this. Together with an intense coconut and an aquatic, even ozonic lotus it makes for an exciting contrast between warm and fresh notes. Like eating an autumnal pear cake with cinnamon and ginger at the poolside on your summer holidays by the sea. In my opinion the coconut in this is halfway between dry and creamy, it neither reminds me of coconut milk, nor of shredded coconut flakes, it's really just the scent of a freshly sliced coconut. I don't notice a lot of iris in this, it's not a powdery scent to me. I'm not sure where and when I would wear this and I still prefer La Belle Le Parfum out of this line, but if you're looking for a slightly unusual take on coconut that is still sweet, feminine and wearable, I highly recommend Fleur Terrible.

This is a like but a little bit underwhelming for my taste. There is prominent vanilla and iris, with balanced salt and light coconut. This is not a chemical screechy mess, but it's not smooth to me either. This is 10000x better than Olympea original IMO, but I just don't feel "wowed" by it for the price. I detected something a bit headachey that eventually wore off (like I did in Kilian's Princess, but that is a love). This also somehow reminded me of those hard, chalky "pillow mints" restaurants used to offer in an open dish. If that even makes sense. Or, if Aqcua di Gio Profundo came out with a female flanker. I would have bought it if the price was lower and bottle was the same vivid turquoise as in the pictures. It is less green-blue and more blue in person. I don't think this is a bad fragrance at all, but I think I am very picky about aquatics and iris scents.

Pretty unique fragrance. Sort of an aquatic powdery vibe, which seems like opposing forces, but it's lovely. Like vintage lipstick beside a tropical lagoon. I get the waterlily for sure, a guava-like fruity floral, but then there's a dense sweet powdery cover over it all. There are definitely more notes than those listed on fragrantica - I think tuberose for sure, maybe a lactonic note or salted caramel, and an animalic musk. It reminds me a bit of Stella McCartney's Pop, although less fresh. It is feminine and nostalgic but also modern and unique. Beautiful on a cool spring day/evening. Plus the bottle is stunning! I was able to snag a bottle at my local Macys, as it was sold out online. Bottle is gorgeous, but only available in 100ml, so I had to pay the $132 price tag. Now, on my skin, the scent is slightly sweet with coconut vibes and a bit of an aquatic note. A touch of a underlying lipstick vibe with the iris, and a ginger note. It is blended beautifully. It is not a beast mode fragrance like La Belle. It lasted about 6 hrs before it became a skin scent, but that it ok with me as I like to change up my fragrances during the day. If you like the note composition and are able to get your hands on a bottle, then go for it!

It’s a really nice aquatic coconut summer scent. I will need to wear this in spring to see if it’s a keeper, but from the initial try on it smells really nice and pleasant for a type of scent I’m not usually attracted to anymore. Which I guess is a way of saying it’s the better lasting more mature version of an escada fragrance. It stays away from being sunscreen. It does resemble coconut fizz from Guerlain but LBFt is a tiny but more fruity and much longer lasting on my skin.

Para minha surpresa, ele seca com aroma de côco ralado docinho de dar água na boca. Não diria ser um perfume aquático ao contrário do que a maioria afirma.

First impressions: (smelled in stores) It’s pretty nice. There’s nothing much to say, and it’s very simplistic. Verdict: pass- eh, nothing that’s really grabbing me here, although it might be for people who want a dumb reach.

Category: Floral, fresh, vanilla Notes: Sprays on a very strong, stingy citrus, but quickly develops into a smooth floral vanilla with an aquatic touch. I’m not quite sure how water lily is supposed to present but here it smells like a white floral (lily or freesia) with an aquatic hint. There is an incredibly mild powderiness in here from the iris as well, but it does get stronger with time. My nose also seems to be picking up a bit of coconut water in here, but it’s a very gentle note and stays mostly in the background. The longer this stays on the more floral and the more aquatic it becomes as the vanilla retreats to the background. Vibe: Tanning on the beach. Coconut water. Henna tattoos. River rafting. Windbreaker. The color blue. Jellyfish. Water polo. Ice machine. Blue gatorade. Sillage: 7/10. A sillage level I’d describe as “just enough” - not too quiet, nor too loud. It is by no means a skin scent, but doesn’t have a huge projection either. Wearing this people will absolutely catch whiffs of it as you move near them or get up close and personal. I would say this has a risk of becoming overwhelming if oversprayed. Longevity: 8.5/10. Great lasting power, I could still smell this on my wrist 9+ hours after spraying it on. Very impressive. Wear: Strictly daytime wear. Very much a spring or summer scent due to the fraicheur. Starts out very feminine but gets more masculine with time - it lands somewhere fairly unisex, although admittedly leaning feminine. Could potentially be worn by a man with the right energy for it. Office wear approved if used sparingly. Overall rating: 6.5/10. Objectively a nice scent, fresh and clean, Fleur Terrible hits all the right notes for a quintessential summer perfume. I think the vanilla base with the aquatic florals create a very unique scent profile, but unfortunately it also leaves me a little confused on how to feel about it. It’s like mixing coffee and eucalyptus - just something about the heavier, warmer base with the freshness of the water lily feels wrong. I would argue that it gives an almost alien feel like that of a water nymph or something similar, which is definitely a vibe, but ultimately I don’t know if I love it or find a little off-putting. I also think the Gaultier DNA in this is incredibly present, so much so that it reminds me of a more feminine version of Le Male, which unfortunately is my shitty dad's signature scent so I think that also adds to why I’m not super keen on this, even though it smells good. Bad associations, lmao! Maybe I’ll feel differently trying this on again once the summer heat arrives, but I doubt it. I am curious about JPG La Belle Paradise Garden as well and would love to be able to compare the two, so I might report back on whether they’re as dissimilar as people claim or not if I get the chance to try that out. This fragrance has a refreshing opening, dominated by a floral aquatic note, the lotus flower. During the first hour of the fragrance's development, the flower that stands out most after that refreshing start is the iris, although it's accompanied by other notes, and I don't notice the classic makeup smell that I sometimes find so unpleasant. As the minutes pass, the sweetness of the vanilla envelops the whole thing, and I also notice a slightly spicy sensation in my nose, but not bothersome because of the ginger. So, we could summarize it as a fragrance based on iris and vanilla, with some hints of aquatic flowers and spices. It's not a scent that's going to blow your mind. And I also think that by layering it with other fragrances on the market, you could get something very similar, so I don't think it's worth paying the price it's selling for on resale, usually more than €140 these days. As for its performance on my skin, I've only used it in extreme weather between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius. It lasted six hours at most. But I can tell you that I can feel it with the slightest breeze or movement, so its sillage is moderate. I don't regret buying it, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Cate Cate I believe there's a language or grammar barrier here because I understood nothing in your response. Aquolina isn't something I've reviewed as it's cheap and not anything I would ever use. Your issue with aquolina is irrelevant and I'm not sure what it has to do with the perfume which I reviewed. This site isn't a forum but rather a place where we leave reviews on fragrances not make comments without research making a fool of yourself. Just remember most perfumes are released in other countries well before the release date. Samples are given well before the release date. It's not uncommon and nothing to get offended about. I get makeup in PR months ahead of the release date, same with fragrances. For people like me it's our job. 💋 ✌️

Cate Cate it's well known that perfumes are released in Europe before the U.S and that if you don't want to wait you buy in Europe. A lot of perfumes are in Europe up to 6 months before they are release in the states. It's nothing new. That being said I was able to get a sample of this and I'm not sure about it. It's nothing like la belle and should have been a stand alone fragrance and not a flanker. Instead of it being sweet it's very floral, powdery and slightly solar to me. With it being cold where I am now is not the time to test it as it's definitely a warmer weather fragrance. So as of now I don't hate it but I don't love it

First 10 min it’s absolutely beautiful scent, after 10 min all my skin projects is creamy silky coconut. It develops like TF soleil blanc. I absolutely adore the beautiful bottle but since I already have soleil blanc and likes it a bit more I sadly have to pass this one on.. but the bottle.”sigh”

Fleur Terrible reminds me of Florabloom – I liked them both for about two hours and then got tired. Don’t get me wrong, they smell good but ultimately I find them a bit predictable and boring.

Underwhelming. I had been looking forward to test this perfume after all the beautiful ads and reputation. But I found it generic and unexciting. So it was a let down.

Beautiful sent but too sweet for me. I like it on the air like a air freshener but not on me.

Just only get a deep sweet vanilla. No other detectable notes and definitly not an aquatic scent. The bottle is adorable and I love the embroidered collar. But the scent feels cheap and synthetic as the vanillascents you find in "carfreshner".

personally I get a very salty aquatic slightly sweet quite masculine but with a smidge of the OG DNA. Not for me. Great sillage and lasting power.
