La Belle Le Parfum (2024)

My new winter girl. Starts out smelling like freshly baked pear pie with vanilla, progresses to a non-gourmand sultry sweet scent when the leather starts to peak through. Finally dries down to this boozy yet aquatic vanilla pear pie, yum! Sprayed it on my sweater since exactly 7 days ago and my room is still full of the scent. She’s STRONG. I also believe you can own both the EDP and this one as that one is a lot brighter and a nice spring summer vanilla, while this is ambery warm and sultry. I do lol. Now unto those coming on here to complain about the reformulation... Can you just describe the scent? That’s what we’re here for; to learn about people’s experiences with a fragrance we’re considering. Secondly, do you ever think that maybe it’s for the better that perfumers reformulate scents? It’s not always about profit, a scent this good would cost a lot more by them “niche houses”. You all claim that this is watered down and I’m wondering with its current strength in said “watered down” state, I can only imagine how harsh the previous formulation has got to be, given the warmer winters we’re experiencing and I’m in the UK where the cold bites. And it’s called climate change; keep up and appreciate the innovative approach these companies take to keep up with the times. A good example will be the new Si EDP. Maybe it’s the climate, but I 1000x prefer the new one as the old one suddenly feels too much. Anyhoo...

This La Belle Le Parfum has been repackaged. I own 1 bottle of the old formula with the old design (black on top, red on bottom) and a bottle of the new formula that has a new design (red on top and black on bottom) and there IS a difference. I got my new bottle back in January, earlier this year. I decided to allow it to sit in my dresser for almost 5 months before pulling it out and it's verrrry strong & sweet, just like the original. However when I first got it & sprayed it, the scent faded within minutes. This is why, I would highly recommend to let your reformulated bottle sit someplace dark for at least 3 months before spraying it. Again if you're not a patient person, I recommend to try to get an original bottle someplace, like maybe Ebay or in certain stores that have them. SCENT DIFFERENCE: I feel the scent is the same, however the only difference is, the original took a bit longer to dry down to the true deep pear/vanilla scent (40 minutes), whereas in the new formula, the syrupy pear/vanilla scent comes through almost immediately. UPDATE 6/20/23: I sprayed the new one (that I let sit for some months) all over last night & it's still strong & projecting 12 hrs later, this morning.

Ohhh my goodness, ladies when i tell you this is the most SEDUCTIVE and GORGEUS fragrance ever i mean it. I smells like if you mixed ball sweat with the slighest hint of Camel hair. IT IS TO DIE FORRRR. Me personally I am a 17 year olf transgender pansexual male and I LOVE this so much. I always feel like when I go out I get compliments, they range from "OH MY GOD GORL YOU SMELL DIVINEEE" to "WOAH WHAT FRAGRANCE IS THAT". I feel like this has a mixture of all of my favriote fragrances ever, stuff like other JPG's and some YSL's. One complaint is that the top notes dont really fit that well. I get hints of ben's ball juice and mango mango mango. The still water is also coming through to me. The longevity is also quite bad like it doesnt last long. It is a super sexy sexy smell and perdect for getting in the mood 😉. If you want a fragrance that is gonna get the mann EXCITED this will OMGEEEE.

This was my number one dream frag. Boyfriend just bought it for me off of fragrancenet for a Christmas gift. First thoughts were: dramatic eyeroll and an "OMFG" LOL! This stuff is sooooooo sweet and sexy. I only smelled the old packaging LBLP like a year ago and was a little worried when I saw people say that the new packaging one smelled different. Maybe it's less tonka forward? Maybe? It's definitely still there, but that syrupy pear with vanilla is absolutely all in my face. Not that I'm complaining. Anyway, I visited him late so I received it at night. I only sprayed one tiny spray on the top of my hand and it stayed on until morning when I showered! :D I can understand why people say this isn't versatile but listen, if you're crazy like me, you wear whatever perfume you want whenever you want becauseeeee ummm live your bliss xx <3

i wore this today & wow what a beautiful perfume !!! its sultry , sexy , an out on the town fabulous delight :) the vanilla is a def strong player.........u can smell the vanilla from beginning to end - its amazing.........and along with tonka it creates a beautiful warm powdery feel.........im not sure what part the pear plays but i can never tell pear in a scent anyway - but its def not a bad role lol.............. i wasnt a fan of the OG le belle but this one is really good & yummy !!! and longevity was good too - i wore it - went on a long walk with my dog - did a few things here & there & 3 hours later still going strong :) and projection for the type of perfume it is i'd say moderate - its not smack in ur face over bearing but not a skin scent - its just right for the notes it has :) a winner for me & love the bottle too :)

A sweet, sexy, dark, and seductive fragrance for women, perfect for the night. Jean Paul Gaultier probably makes the greatest sweet fragrances for men, and it’s great to see they craft them just as beautifully for women as well. Coming from a straight man reviewing a women’s scent, this one is incredibly alluring to the male nose, at least mine. Its dark character makes it feel mature, not in terms of age, but in personality. The kind of woman who wears this is a confident brunette dressed in dark clothing, someone with presence, mystery, and depth. This scent screams femme fatale. It’s sweet, but never in a childish way. Dark like incense, with a captivating 3D aura. It smells like burnt cherries blended with vanilla, deep, smoky. Absolutely sexy.

I own only this version of La Belle and i find it moderately sweet, could definitely get a firsthand of vanilla and a hint of pear. Sprayed it a while ago and it lasted for a minute before it became just an overwhelming sanitizer scent on my wrist. :( You definitely need to wait around three months to use it. It'll help the longevity and scent overall, glad to say that it does smell sweet but not sickening or too artificial, that sweet spot. The pear comes through and smells like overspiced pear pastry, which, despite what it sounds like, smells good. You definitely should not blind buy this perfume because all perfumes smell different on different people, test it before you buy it!

One word to describe this deliciousness: WOMANLY. This is what Morticia Adams wears when she is ready for a passionate night with her husband Gomez. This is pure witchcraft seduction in a bottle, you have to use with caution. This is the sweetest leathery vanilla with just enough spice to make it memorable to whoever will have the luck of being in your presence when you wearing this delicious juice. This is black lace and patent leather. I would reserve this fragrance for cooler nights for sure. Longevity is pretty good for designer, 7-8 hours and it does project easily for 2 hours. Ps: you can still buy this directly from the jean paul gaultier site. Thats where I got mine from.

UPDATE: WHOEEVEERRRR decided to discontinue this sleep with one eye open tonight. This scent is UNFORGETTABLE. I’ve never smelt something like this before which is weird considering how many perfumes with these kinds of notes are on the market. This is a deep, complex, mysterious scent which is quite hard to describe. This is an incredibly rich, syrapy, dark, warm, seductive fragrance perfect for date nights and colder weather. You can clearly smell the vanilla, pear and tonka bean in a very in depth way, and it’s all blended together beautifully. This is hands down the IT girl fragrance and I’m quite picky on perfumes but this is a MASTERPIECE in my eyes. 1000000000000/10

Un perfume dulce, muuuuy cremoso, algo caliente, rico, seductor y elegante. Un perfume de femme fatale. Siento una pera caramelizada muy sutil al inicio, cuando vi las notas me sorprendio por que al secar me huele a almendras garrapiñadas, dulces y cremosas, supongo que por el haba tonka. Tiene ese fondo oscuro de vainilla muy sensual y dulce. La duración y proyección en mi piel es muy buena. Es una bomba de feminidad. Actualización 2 meses después: Definitivamente esto cada vez mejora más, en estos dos meses la fragancia a madurado, y si ya era buena, ahora tiene todo su potencial. Los aromas tienen más complicidad entre ellos, y se tornó mas oscura y misteriosa.

First couple sprays of my bottle smelled like a smoothie you forgot in your car and it started to ferment. Not sure why? Let it sit for a while and came back to it to find that it’s smoothed out and is such a sexy, succulent, deep fragrance. Now I understand the rave reviews. The longevity is wild- lasts through wash cycles on clothes. Leaves a wonderful scent trail. Projects pretty well- don’t overspray too much. This is a wonderful fragrance , I hate the bottle tho. Feels cheap, the atomizer is chunky and not smooth. The tin can that this comes in is so cheap feeling to me, not sure if that’s the intent. if you can find this on discounters for cheap , get it .

This is gorgeous. Even though it’s not overly complicated when it comes to notes, it is executed beautifully. It is also projecting very well and has a fantastic staying power. On skin it is detectable by others even 5 hrs later, on clothes 12 hrs + It starts of fruity, like this bit is ok but nothing special, but quickly transforms into deep, almost jammy goodness. It must be tonka and vanilla but it’s such a pleasant experience, like wrapping yourself in a soft blanket. I don’t know the old version but this one is worth the money

I adore this perfume. I didn’t smell the old version, but this is just wonderful. Opening has strong sweet ripe pear scent (in a good way). After couple of minutes it transforms into cozy vanilla-tonka scent with hint of pear. I love that it lingers and I can feel it on myself most of the time, giving me a very warm, cozy yet seductive and mysterious vibe. It’s definitely a mature scent, but not in a bad way. I would say it’s maybe 25+. I put it when I wanna feel sexy, seductive and strong.

I've tried both the original and the reformulation, and personally I don't find much of a noticeable difference at all? I adore this perfume, it's unique and intoxicating. I was originally very uncertain of it: the tonka opening was very alarming, but after letting it dry down, it's the most beautiful warm syrupy pear and vanilla. It's mature without being 'old', and you only need one or two sprays if you don't want to suffocate people in it. But what a way to go.

Loving my decant! To my nose, the 2024 version of Le Parfum is very similar to the original La Belle, but Le Parfum is smoother and more vanilla forward, whereas the original is stronger and more zesty. The original is a long-time favorite of mine, but I have to admit I like Le Parfum even more. ** Update - Ended up purchasing a discounted 3.4 oz. tester online via FragranceNet. No regrets! :)

I truly fell in love with this when I received it as a gift... 💓 Ignore all the negative reviews — the 2024 version is almost the same as the 2021 anyway. If you love a syrupy sweet pear wrapped in a gorgeous vanilla-tonka base, that’s exactly what you’ll get — plus it performs REALLY well. So if you love a similar scent profile, give it a try, you’ll not be disappointed !!🥹

La Belle Le Parfum is a full-on obsession in a bottle. One spray and I was hooked! It’s deep, sexy, and rich with sweet vanilla, juicy pear, and that addictive boozy tonka warmth. It’s confident, feminine, and unapologetically bold. Reminds me of the sexiness of Wanted Girl by Azzaro although the notes are different. But both evoke sensuality and mistery to me.

This is a good investment, the whole package and bottle is really well made and the perfume lasts for more than 12h on skin. Even after taking a shower the scent is still present in the places I applied on the skin. If you like a vanilla/tonka with the "hypnoticky poisony smoothness" type of category, chances are that you'll love this one.

Best perfume ever, it's simply perfect. The best fragrance I have ever had. Sweet as hell but in a perfect gourmand sense, like sugar coated pears with some exquisite vanilla hint and a leather/musky undertone that gives her depth. I can't have enough of this fragrance. It gets better every time I use it.

Bought it sept.24 2 bottles of 50 mil I’ve fallen in love ever since It’s a signature smell for me at date nights It smells both sexy and luxurious ! If you like vanilla fragrances and you want to smell like an “ independent woman” this fragrance is definitely for you. It can last up to 9-10 hours .

Word of the year: Macerate!! When I first received this I was disappointed. A few months later, I decided to try it again. Beautiful! As with ALL perfumes, I realized that letting them all sit for a few months after the first spray works wonders! For ALL of them. :)

This smells like actual (not synthetic) vanilla and tonka, I love it, sweet, powdery and pleasant. Definitely an evening perfume. Probably works better in winter or fall but I’ll wear it in summer too, just not in the day time.

Es la primera Jean Paul Gaultier que realmente me gusta, fue un regalo de cumpleaños reciente pero amo las notas, en la base es vainilla y tonka la recomiendo mucho para temporada de invierno es muy sexy.

Absolutely gorgeous! Creamy ,sweet , smells very expensive and the projection is superb. A couple of sprays lasts all day and night ; even into the next day. This is a perfume I never get tired of.

This is wonderful for fall and winter, it’s rich sweet deep and edible. When I first bought this I didn’t like the dry down but now I love it. I own the original too and love that one also.

Oh my god.. this smells SOOOOOO good.. the pear is thick and strong and syrupy sweeeet.. kinda giving me like a spiced pear cobbler type of vibe.. served hot and fresh with a biiiig scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s very enveloping and very addictive and veryyyy alluring.. absolutely perfect for those colder months but I could see myself rocking this all year too. To me, it basically just smells like a more intense version of the original EDP and doesn’t really transition into that more dusty earthy vibe like the OG does.. which I love! Imagine the opening of the original, but if it was stronger and never really subsided or switched up.. reallyyyyyyy good.. I see myself going through my 1.7 oz pretty quick! Longevity and projection seem to be good too but I don’t know if it’s necessarily better than the OG.. both seem to last around the same, but omg I seriously just love this.. yay!!

JPG broke my heart when they reformulated the OG La Belle ☠️ This *was my absolute fav perfume but the reformulated version is a diluted, nose burning, cheap-ish smelling fragrance with far less silage & longevity... but I’m sure the stakeholders are happy with their profits of destruction 🖕🏼 It’s ok, but nowhere near what it used to be just a few years ago. And omg the bottle is HIDEOUS. The gross looking flowers around the neck look melted like an amateur middle schooler was playing with a soldering iron in technology class without teacher supervision... the flowers are insultingly FUGLY AF (I’ve lost 95% of my respect for JPG, which is a huge loss😔)

Blind buy! The dry down smells really similar to black opium yves saint laurent. I gave this perfume to my mom because I already have something that smells like tonka and vanilla, the black opium has a really similar note of coffee and vanilla. I think this perfume is great but I was blind buying for something new. This definitely smells like a night out perfume for the winter or fall, it’s very mature and the pear note is exciting but overall I get more of a mature scent from this. I was gonna return it but my mom said it smells sooo good so it really does smell tasty but not what I’m looking for right now.

Ugh love this fragrance SO MUCH!! I got this along with the 2021 version and sadly they are quite different. I personally like the 2021 version than this as the 2024 version smells slightly more woody and just has this strange note in it. It smells the exact same as the 2021 version from afar but if you want to get down to the nitty gritty on which one you like and which one you should choose, id search far and wide for the 2021 version. I think we should all protest for JPG to come forward about the reformulation instead of being fricking sneaky >:(

I liked this after the dry down, but it a 90 minute wait before that very indolic, disturbing note of the Jasmine goes away. It would be a really lovely fragrance if I could deal with that fecal note, but it's very upsetting. Especially on skin. If you spray it on clothes, it seems to be fine. Maybe that fecal note just comes out on my skin, specifically. I much rather prefer the way the original EDP comes off on skin. But as a stand-alone fragrance on blotting paper, it is delicious. Like pears poached in vanilla extract.

To me, this smells just the same classic JPG I wore when I was 14 to the age of 18. I think this is better suited to a younger generation. It’s a nice perfume, but it doesn’t scream sexy to me personally. Maybe if I hadn’t worn JPG as a teen 25+ years ago I’d feel differently about it. I guess I’ve never truly understood the meaning of “flanker” either, since I’ve never bought one before, but now I get it lol. I only bought a 10ml, so glad I didn’t splurge on a full bottle. It’s a pass for me.

Reminds me of Vanilla 28 a lot, but a deep dark version with florals while V28 is more focused on the brown sugar. Once i heard it was going to be discounted i had to get it. Is this my favorite vanilla profile? No, but i still think there is something a bit special about it. I just need to be in a certain mood. Definitely more appropriate for fall and winter, lineage and projection are “ok”. Edit - The dry down is IDENTICAL.

Just like the original--------this demands existence! I can see a woman in her 40s pull this off, married with kids and has a spicy marriage. For the toxic milfs out there, you will never be denied with this perfume, sweet, a head turner and just a pleasing scent. The original I will say is better as far as scent but if you're looking for more longevity then this perfume is for you.... 8.9/10

Defending this downward trajectory ignores the reality of what's actually happening. While tariffs and supply chain issues are factual realities, let's not be naïve. Many manufacturers are using them as a convenient excuse to hike prices while simultaneously reducing quality. How anyone could look at a massive price hike for a hollowed out, soulless version of La Belle Le Parfum and see a victory is beyond comprehension. You're simping way too hard for disgusting corporate greed at the expense of the enthusiast--at the expense of all of us here that loved this fragrance. It appears that you don't even know what it smelled like just a few years ago, yet here you are. A lot of us are doing exactly what you’re whining about us not doing. We’re explaining precisely why we’re pissed. People are actively breaking down what’s missing from the scent profile and how it’s changed. And yeah, some are just venting because they have a fucking right to be mad. The audacity it takes for you to police how anyone speaks their mind in a literal comment section is wild. I’m thrilled you love the juice, but that doesn’t give you the right to force everyone else to drink the Kool-Aid with you. If you already know what it smells like, why are you demanding we handle you with kid's gloves instead of just telling it like it is? How deeply insufferable. The entire appeal of La Belle was its status as a room filling gourmand. A few sprays meant a nice scent bubble hugging your body that lasted all night, and weeks on fabrics. Charging nearly two hundred fucking dollars for a juice that's advertised as La Belle intense yet evaporates within an hour or two is insulting.. LBLP and LB both went up fifty dollars on the grey market. If you are happy to pay a premium for diminished quality and nonexistent longevity, that's your choice. However, most people prefer their perfume to last longer than a puff of smoke. Your username is actually very fitting, given that you seem to prefer your sillage and your logic to be as translucent and fleeting as a ghostly apparition.

I love it but it's not the same. Why spoil a good thing? Smells more like way weaker version of the original La Belle now than the strong sexy bitch she used to be. I hate when companies pull this shit to cut corners. PUT IT BACK NEOWW, JPG. Unless I got a bad bottle?! But the reviews tell me otherwise. What a damn shame. Anyone know where to find the old one? I can't anywhere. Hopefully letting it sit will do it wonders because this is bad. Are y'all sure they didn't change it? The old one was so much better. Like by a long shot. I believe in the power of letting a fragrance sit and mature so that's what I'll do. I still like wearing it but something is missing! And don't even get me started on what they've did to the bottles. I'll keep my empty old bottle forever because she's so pretty and I won't ever see another one again unless I'm lucky. She will be sitting for a while but that's okay because I don't want to use it all up due to over spraying. This new juice is not lasting very long. The original radiates off of my coat for months after one night of use.

While it is heavy, it is not extremely warm. More blanketing. If this is for the "intense" version, just think powder tonka powder, then some pear. Pear-scented powder that rests on a tonka note. Sure, people like it and notice it, but if you're blind buying or sampling, and you're a crisp, spicy, herby or even fruity/fresh perfume lover, this is a good "exact opposite" vibe. It may be good to try for the aforementioned tastes so that you can see how you feel about it and set your benchmarks for what you like. Very pleasant and beautiful, but a little confusing.

Update: I was really disheartened at first, but surprisingly, this smells a lot better in the summer now that it’s been weakened. The bartender literally demanded to know what the hell I was wearing so she could buy it herself. Funny enough, I didn’t get a single compliment wearing this in the winter, which is wild, considering this was supposed to be the “winter version” of La Belle. Wtf? I guess she’s officially my easy summer reach now.

Ok so I purchased the 30 ml of the original and loved it so much that I bought a bigger bottle. Well the bigger bottle is the reformulation one and it’s not the same. I can barely smell it, where as the 30 ml bottle I was in a heavenly bubble of happiness. I was so disappointed that ordered a bottle of the original off of eBay. Can’t wait to smell that one again.

Lately, JPG perfumes have been disappointing me. La Belle Le Parfum smells like saliva . It gives the impression of being low quality or made with a small budget. It’s not horrible, but it doesn’t stand out or do anything new. I’m just glad I didn’t pay full price, bought it from a discount store on line Once again, I expected more from Quentin Bisch. Meh 3/10

Absolutely agree with everything Tarabellexo said in a post below, I still have a bit left in my old bottle, and feel this new version is weaker, lacking depth and longevity, and does not project that much. It is like what I imagine a cheap ‘inspired by’ version would smell like. Really disappointed and hope I can find the older version somewhere :-(

I was able to find the original pre 2024 version of the perfume after smelling this one and the pre version is soooo much better so if you can any sellers with the older versions I recommend purchasing.

This is a sexy and sweet perfume. It isn’t a juvenile. The tonka makes it boozy. If you like Kayali Rock Candy, you’ll love this. It is like a better version.

The new formula just smells like tonka on my skin. Such a shame cause I loved the 2021 version.
