One Love

Divine and gorgeous. The saffron, mimosa, and violet leaf over woody notes and musk create a green, aromatic freshness. Excellent sillage and nice woody base. A totally nice balance of woody, musky, floral with mimosa carrying the day. One Love deserves its high score on Fragrantica. It's very French, very fresh, and utterly original. To me it doesn't smell synthetic at all. One of those below-the-radar perfumes that I love to collect. Has the same violet leaf note as Jaipur Bracelet and a similar aromatic, green freshness.

This has unexpectedly become one of my favorite springtime perfumes, despite the two party-poopers, galbanum and saffron. Mimosa is the front-runner here, despite a vast collection of florals, and it can be felt for hours. I especially like the combo with violet leaves and other purple flowers (iris, lilac), which is why I bought it in the first place. The opening is very fresh, nice combo of citrusy, greenish and slightly sweet notes (not too much), but unfortunately it only lasts for a minute or two (literally). Then, galbanum and saffron take over, changing the character of the scent. And it's a struggle for me for the next 3 hours, until it finally fades away and the floral & base notes take the stage. The drydown is again a very pleasant experience and also a bit sensual - rose/floral combos with oakmoss give that vibe to me. I found I like it best layered with Aqua Allure from Rasasi which nicely smooths this troublesome transition for me. (it's not listed here on Fragrantica, but also a fresh, greenish floral for women, perfect for layering, not so much on its own, I find it poorly grounded since it has no woody/musky/ambery/resinous notes and I like my fragrances with some depth) Sillage is moderate-to-intimate (I don't mind it), but longevity is above the average (initally, I felt it was weak for a EdP (thought it was a bad/old batch - couldn't check on checkfresh.com), but after a couple of weeks it has improved singnificantly). I feel this scent is best for springtime and autumn. It's a well-rounded and well-grounded fragrance, with an elegant touch, a nice tribute to women's fragrances of 70's and 80's, but with a modern twist and somewhat lighter in character.

I got a sample of this with a perfume order. Never saw it in a store and never heard of it before, so I decided to wear it around the house yesterday. One Love is very feminine and grown up. Floral and very powdery, I mostly smell iris, maybe a bit of violet. The powdery scent is quite long lasting, I didn't really get to the woody notes in the base, it's really a lipstick/makeup kind of iris note all day to me. Not very sweet and a bit dry, but for some reason also refreshing, maybe that's the lemon and bergamot. It's a cool scent, not a warm one. Overall One Love is not my kind of perfume, as I'm not a big fan of powdery florals, but if you love these kind of fragrances, you should try it.

It is a very elegant, classy, floral, green fragrance. I very like it. Great longevity and sillage and in the same time soft and calming. Sometimes it smells like freshly washed laundry, sometimes it smells like a floral garden, sometimes it smells like a field with full of flowers and green grass. Very nice perfume.

This is a lovely, soft floral fragrance, slightly green and mossy. It's quite fresh without the astringency usually associated with that genre. I feel like I've entered a flower garden at the first spray. I think this is a delightful fragrance considering it's one of the moderns.

For me this very much smells like Madame Gres by Gres. Very nice and classic. Would be better if it lasted longer.

Sadly contrary to its’ name this turned out to be not one love, but one huge disappointment for me. Bought it blind because I love some other Scherrer fragrances. Especially Jean-Louis Scherrer 1979 which I consider to be an amazing exemplary green-floral chypre. But this... I absolutely agree with the review below that first and foremost it screams cheap and low quality. In terms of composition - seems that it tries too hard to be to everyone’s liking mixing retro chypre with modern florals, wood and ozonic which eventually turned out to be a poor blended mess of notes with (once again I agree on this one below) a bathroom freshener vibe. And no matter how hard I try I don’t see any similarities with elegant and classy Chanel 19 (listed here in Reminds Me section which also weighed in favour of me buying this). The only fragrance One Love reminds me of is the one not even listed on Fragrantica. In Soviet era there used to be a cheap scent called Ogurechny Losyon (Cucumber Aftershave). And although it makes me sad, but I’m afraid this is it - One Big Ogurechny Losyon with some extended longevity.

Hesitated a lot about this one. The bottle and pyramids looked attractive, but reviews were not reassuring. Even the high score itself made me suspicious. Saffron? Hmm, I don’t know. But the other two Scherrers I’ve got were worth having. The initial burst is quite unpleasant - it’s like a cloud of dry paper dust blown in your face, but thankfully that does not last. In a few minutes, the fragrance starts to unfurl. The dusty nuance stays present if no longer grating, as the scent sweetens a little past the first impact. If it’s a mimosa at all, it’s not honeyed. There’s lemon, and I think I can distinguish the magnolia in the heart. Not much else. Green and chalky overall. It’s distinct and not generic for better or for worse - depends on one’s preferences. I’m not sure what would make it ‘very French’ as other reviewers opined it is. They must know better. I like it enough not to regret the blind purchase, but perhaps not more than that.

Cut grass and rain. And something very old and moldy. It's certainly unique. I doubt if I've smelled anything as... interesting? weird? in a while. While I dismiss most perfumes for being bland and boring, this one feels like it's trying too hard to be vintage-y, while not being able to replicate the charm that goes with vintage stuff. The moldy green does give way to something mildly floral as it settles but it's still not hitting any spots for me. Pass.

I love this brand but after 2006 it lost its character. This new release is a dissonant mix of notes that results in a weird powdery fragrance. I keep the previous perfumes like gold (Jean Luis Sherrer, Sherrer 2, S de Sherrer, Immense ) but this one I had to give away.

One Love by Scherrer reminds me of 1000 by Jean Patou. One Love is an innocent little sister of 1000. It has an earthy component not found in 1000. It is unassuming while warm and interesting at the same time. I would compare it to Ralph Lauren's Safari (which I loved, loved, loved and wore daily in the early 90s) for strength and attitude. 1000 is much more glamorous and sophisticated. I understand that Jackie Kennedy Onassis wore 1000. I believe it because 1000 is a "big" fragrance, worldly and elegant. I love to try it when I see it at a perfume counter, but I will never buy 1000. It smells dated, a 70s frag. I did not notice the sharp green notes of One Love that Hildegerd describes below. However, I am used to Jean-Louis Scherrer for Women, Scherrer's first fragrance. Now that is green and sharp! That is the Queen of the green frags. It was her remark as well as several of the others that decided a blind-buy of One Love for me. The first spray from my new bottle was a most pleasant revelation. It was totally unexpected. One Love is a keeper for me. One Love is not my first choice in the morning while getting dressed for work. I need something stronger like Jean-Louis Scherrer for Women, Chanel No. 5, Shalimar or Orlane's B21 to get the work day started. One Love is comparatively enigmatic and unobtrusive. It's good for the rest of the day. Update May 2019: This IS a first choice in the morning! Springtime is definitely the right time for One Love. Now all the notes make sense and the middle notes are strong enough to carry and balance the scent through a good 4 or so hours.

تست امشب ❤️❤️❤️ نمی‌دونم چرا یسری برند های خوب اصلا دیده نمیشند ولی تا جا داره برندهای مزخرف با اون عطرهای حال به هم زن همیشه ازشون حرف زده میشه ... بگذریم ... وان لاو . ژان لویی شرر . محصول سال ۲۰۱۵ از ی برند قدیمی و استخوندار هست که مثل بقیه عطرهای این مارک از نظر کیفی تو سطح بالایی قرار میگیره عطری با ماهیتی فلورال . ی آکورد فلورال نسبتا کمپلکس که جزییات توش مشخص نیست . آکورد سیتروسی و گل مگنولیا فضای درخشان و فرشی رو در شروع به عطر دادند تو قلب عطر چیزی که بوضوح احساس میشه حس چوبی و خاکی و رزینی از گالبانوم و اوکموسه در کنار فضای پودری گلها شباهت خیلی زیادی به ژادوغ دیور و شانل شماره ۱۹ داره ولی بعد از نیم ساعت بوی زعفرون چنان خودنمایی قدرتمندی می‌کنه که فضای کلی عطر رو می‌بره به ژانر اورینتال . کاملا ملموسه تو ترکیباتش رز هم داره ولی ذکر نشده درای داون عطر حس باطراوت استارت رو نداره ولی تخریبی هم شکل نمیگره. عطر به کمال و زیبایی از فضای ارینتال و خزه ای میرسه کیفییت عطر بسیار عالیه بازی نتها زیباست پخش بوی ملایم و ماندگاری عالی ماحصل تست این عطر زیبا و خانمانه بود . فکر نمیکنم قیمت بالایی داشته باشه

Smells, to me, like some kind of air freshener. The violet & lilac are indeed at the forefront as voted, the lemon and mimosa clash with the violet in the top and it doesn't work for me. I get no oak moss, magnolia or woods. I smell heliotrope, though not listed. Overall a sweet and powdery scent. Smells somewhat similar to elderflower juice from IKEA. The aerosol, air freshener component is a turn off for me though I felt it improved into the dry down I still found it undesirable, so I added a drizzle of Al REHAB's White Full on top which worked surprisingly well. Leaves it in the realm of The Body Shop's Moringa range. Something here just doesn't sit right with me and I don't believe I should need to add a cheap jasmin oil on top just to make it smell better. Not at all keen on this, personally. Not to my taste.

Overall very synthetic. The initial spray is reminiscent slightly of 1000 jean patou. The violet to me is at forefront throughout although it recedes somewhat. If violet (and or its leaf) is not your thing, DROP the curtain now.!! And im not totally averse to it. In addition, I have to agree completely with chimidoro in entirety - my first reaction was UUUgGHH cheap airfreshner!..in whatever form you like. It doesnt get much better than that, except for when it starts to dissipate. And when it does, i cant help feel like a little citronellol almost like a faint fly spray. My expectations were high. I have Nuits indiennes and another from this house. Im not comparing apples with oranges. Im comparing quality with quality.

Note: It is always unwise to give a perfume review on a freshly opened bottle by the first spray or first wear. Like wine, a perfume needs a moment to 'breathe', to 'bloom'. Dry saffon mingles with florals upon initial application. Heady blooms engage the senses backlit by a fresh grassiness. Ambrette base makes this bouyant. This is a sophisticated perfume in a truly lovely bottle that was, curiously enough, designed by an architect. To me, this scent is an homage to Jean Louis. It is very french and classy. Well blended. A true perfume, not trying to be anything other than what it is. Tones down to a cool skin scent that lasts. ✨

This has definitely lots of punch, the green notes are very strong, and there is the saffron also, personally, I don't care for it, but for lovers of classy chypre, this is one to consider..the oakmoss and the vetiver tend to give it a dry sharp edge...hopefully the drydown will be smoother...the scent softens considerably, becoming more of a green floral, and disappearing quite fast. I don't know, there is a note attacking my nose in the top notes, and not in a good way...just too masculine, too much for me!!

This one goes in my small category of "I don"t want to think about how good I smell" perfumes. I cannot explain why, because it is certainly a chic scent one cannot wear easily. But between One Love and I, there is some sort of Montaigne and La Boétie relationship :"Because it was he, because it was I." It's powdery greeness calms me down, like No. 19, Infusion d'iris, or even Musc Nomade. For me, they fit the definition of intelligent comforting scents (if such a thing exists...)

It came in the post today and in the beginning I was like "I am not wearing this" because the first hour the scent is extremely sharp and green and the violet dominates entirely for some minutes there, but when it calms down and the oakmoss got to do its job it is marvelous. If you are a fruity patchouly perfume lover you will hate this, if you do not I think you should sample it.

This is not a floral chypre at all but a very unpleasant and bitter green fragrance that eventually dries down to a soapy vapor. I love mossy green fragrances and any classic chypre but I believe that the combination of oakmoss (very synthetic smelling), vetiver and saffron are a lethal mix for what should be a soft and floral Springtime bouquet!
