Boum Vanille Sa Pomme d'Amour

This perfume is simply lovely. I now own an original Boum, Boum Cherry Blossom, and Boum Candy Land, but none of them is as distinct an impressive as Boum Vanille. The visualization is spot-on. It does smell of a juicy red apple with sweet vanilla and caramel. Yes, it is linear and doesn’t develop beyond this delicious trio, but does it have to when it’s so enjoyable? The more I use it, the more I fall in love with it. It is so inoffensive and mild, but still very much perceivable by others. (I get “You smell nice!” from colleagues and friends all the time!) It puts me in joyous and festive mood, as a Disney cartoon. This autumn we went apple picking in a public garden and I wore Boum Vanille for this occasion. Perfect memory created successfully. I couldn’t think of a more appropriate setting for this scent, except for... Remember that fairy-tale ad for Nina Ricci’s Nina back in the noughties where a girl in a rose-tulle dress climbs a huge pile of red apples in a white palace room? What teenage me imagined back then was closer to Boum Vanille than to Nina Ricci’s creation. Pure, princess-like, enchanting, red apples and white vanilla ice-cream. I see many comments here saying it smells very artificial, but I cannot agree. Maybe my nose isn’t very discerning, but this is the most convincing and mouth-watering red apple I smelled apart from real apples (house fragrances, edible sweets, and perfume included). By the way, despite being so soft and unobtrusive, Boum Vanille lasts forever on my hair and clothes – even after washing! A sweet memory of a magical story. P.S. First sprays from the bottle are more flat and empty. It grows in value after around third time you wear it. This is the issue I’ve faced with every Jeanne Arthes perfume. You have to spritz away a good 10 to 15 sprays until the scent finally grows fully into itself beyond one or two very basic notes.

Research says that men love vanilla and generally food-type scents, and this is a happy mix of vanilla, and a tiny bit of orange and soft cotton candy, with a classy musk of confidence-building tobacco that's soft enough to remain perfectly feminine. This perfume is very young, but, it's later softening to a musk that is so soft and alluring it makes itself accessible and wearable for any age. It is for the girl inside the woman, even more than a girl, because of the lingering, very soft musk. The apple you smell first, but the smokey tobacco and candy floss are tied together and become the main feature after the first 5 to 10 minutes of wear. On me, it has a soft sillage, which is perfect for an inexpensive perfume, and gorgeous to wear day-to-day. It lasts surprisingly long for me (6 hours at least), but remains close to the skin and constant there. I am afraid I like this too much. Don't get me wrong: this isn't just mainly about the candy, there is also a slight citrus that balances everything along with the musk. There are a lot of very popular, designer fragrances that are very much candy-inspired, and this is much prettier, I think, a lot more appropriate to wear for a more mature woman. Please don't let the low price fool you; try it from the tester and give it 10 minutes, and you will love it if you love sweet fruit and musk joined with a touch of vanilla. This "Vanille" is the "Boum"!

I purchased this one in a drugstore years ago. I had no idea about the notes or what it was supposed to smell like. I just saw the cute circus box and "Vanille" (obviously I didn't pay much attention in my French class since it says vanilla and apple. Haha) and thought it would be up my alley. It totally was! Make no mistake, this fragrance does not pretend to be a $300 perfume, however, it performs better than a usual cheapie. Upon first spray you get delicious apple followed by praline. To me, it reads more candy apple than caramel apple. On the dry down, you get a super sweet vanilla. I am a fan of sweet gourmands and this one is so good! This does smell synthetic, but in the best way possible. A sugary, candied vanilla apple. I do not pick up on the orange note at all. This lasts decently on me, about 7-8 hours. The sillage is definitely close to the skin. I agree with the reviewer that said this is a great "to bed" scent. You can enjoy the candy apple and fall asleep to the sweet vanilla and it will be gone in the morning. You can just add your day scent without having to worry about accidental layering. Great value for the price!

Ahh I always wanted to smell like a lipgloss lol. This really reminds me of Tickled Pink, stronger on the vanilla so better than Tickled Pink but it does make me more nauseous. In chilly weather tho its really nice and gives me a happy feeling. I smell some apple indeed and it could be a Bath& Body works scent without the candle/vanilla dna. Casual and fun, not a regret. The drydown is worth waiting for, I absolutely love it. On me it lasts 3 hrs - silage is excellent tho. Update: I still have this perfume and it hasnt gone bad in the bottle. Really wish they still sold these, it smells alittle synthetic but I love it in cold weather, and I do smell the orange (I had thought its mandarin just by smelling my arm) and the apple, as if theyre boiled in sugar with vanilla and then whipped cream and praline on top, no joke I used to make candied apples in the oven, topped with whipped cream and if I added some candied orange pieces Id have this scent here.

So sweet and yummy. It's a fruit candy gourmand. Smells like candied apple almost. It's also quite powdery. The orange might be a top note but it is quite soft, allowing the other notes to shine through, and I can barely smell it on dry-down. This definitely shares a small amount of DNA with Golden Sand by Al Rehab (and different dupes like Casablanca, Cheirosa 40 etc), in a sense that it has a bit of the same fruity and powdery vanilla notes as that does. But of course, this is very different. I would 100% drench myself in this, but I'd definitely have to layer it for added strength, because this doesn't perform well just yet. Usually, vanilla forward fragrances get much stronger overtime, so fingers crossed! The performance is whatever for the price. Hopefully it macerates overtime and becomes stronger, like the review below me implies. This is definitely a skin scent for now, at least.
