Capricieuse

🌸I was fortunate to find a bottle of this discontinued fragrance on eBay so I gifted it to myself for no reason but to pamper myself. The bottle is so much lovelier in real life. The picture makes the bottle look PLASTIC when in fact it's glass. ✴Jeanne Arthes✴is one of my favorite perfume houses. It's a inexpensive but a very impressionable house. Jeanne Arthes Private room is my all-time favorite fragrance. This perfume comes in 2nd and I am shook. It is absolutely delightful. It does remind me of private room a tiny bit at the bottom base notes. It starts off with a real fragrant 🍍pineapple and grapefruit that Private Room does not have and then it simmers down into the most beautiful 🍮praline and caramel that I can't get enough of. lt is a gourmand in every sense of the word. A yummy scent. It's honestly probably one of the best for me. It's soft and delightful. The box that it comes in is so cute. I love fashion so it suits me. On the back of the box it says" .... "Fitting fashion and a shop Avenue Montaigne, Paris. She is held on the podium as on a pedestal such as a modern-day Pretty Woman. Everybody fusses over her everything must be perfect.. her dress her shoes... her hat. Everything has to be according to her desire exclamation. She is beautiful and plays with her femininity she's independent and determined as her perfume is. Capricieuse is a sweet🍭 and daring fragrance for sexy woman who has personality. The top notes are lively with an alliance of sparkling fruits such as grapefruit pineapple🍍 and black currant then the 🍊orange blossom mix with 🍦vanilla praline and caramel give a sweet sensual and glamorous fragrance". They weren't kidding. This scent is glamorous. I'm so happy I have a full bottle of it now. I've looked over a year for it. It didn't disappoint. 🌷 I do agree it smells a tad like Ellen Tracy Bronze because of the cedar ( which is a note that I can live without) but I enjoy THIS more because the cedar is not as prominent. I really hope Jeanne Arthes brings back these DISCONTINUED perfumes.

Sweet, nutty praline with a soft berry undertone...this is the definition of gourmand fragrance. Just try not to lick your wrist :) Like all Jeanne Arthes fragrances, this one is extremely well blended; to the point my (admittedly amateur) nose can't really pick out the individual notes. It's like the the first whiff you get when you walk into a gourmet candy shop...warm, buttery toffee, nutty pralines, and of course milk chocolate. I don't get any sour or medicinal notes with this at all...I find it lovely from the first spray and all day. I would say its fairly linear, remaining sweet and developing a tad bit of powderiness near the end. Also the packaging and bottle are just adorable... what a find! Love it!

Ok, so i smelled this in my local clothes department store and i just thought it smelled GORGEOUS, warm floral sweet berries and a sexy base of vanilla and caramel. So i picked up a bottle and bought it. It was very priceworthy, only 9 dollars, and thats a 100 ml bottle! It kind of remind me of a juicy coutoure scent, and since i have wanted to buy that one but find it very expensive , this is a great substitute and for a killer price. Totally recommend it, if you like floral gourmand scents. 9/10

The presentation and beauty of the box and bottle alone are breathtaking! The scent actually had me speechless. I am no a grapefruit fan, but this has made me a lover! You smell grapefruit first than pineapple. Then comes the caramel and pralines. It does remind me a bit of Play it Rock by Playboy with its hint of spiciness. I love this so much!!! If you don't have it get it! It is very affordable and quite beautiful with great sillage and lasting power!

This is a very layered scent to me in a great way - You smell praline and vanilla with the currant, and then in sneaks the cedar and sandalwood and when you go back and think about it, a hint of pineapple.....I didn't get even a whiff of grapefruit, which is fine with me! I felt a little sexy and risque wearing it:) An excellent perfume in my opinion:) Liking it, bordering on love.....Actually, I'm just gonna say I love it:)

Very nice! I received this in a swap at about the same time that I received the newer D&G Pour Femme. I like them just about equally; they are similar in style, if not longevity. Since I have both, I'll pass this on to my daughter. This is really deliciously beautiful.

i personally think its lovely but dont put too much or it will got sickly and people have said its a grandma perfume but idk😅

If Capricieuse was a chocolate, it would be a soft centred Praline Caramel with Vanilla Swirl. Opens with a luscious Praline nutty sweetness which dries down to a lasting memory of a great box of chocolates. If like me you like to keep fancy chocolate boxes and open them every now and then for a reminiscent sniff, that is Capricieuse. Very light, feminine and inoffensive to wear, I suggest wearing in cooler seasons or climate control A/C, the heat here (Australia 40C), just evaporated the entire scent from my body.

So, this almost a spot on dupe for YSL Manifesto except it is more tart and not as sweet. I actually prefer Capricieuse over Manifesto because it doesn't smell "greasy" and isn't as linear. Lasting power is decent and it has a nice sillage. This is cheap but doesn't smell it and would make a great stocking stuffer for the perfume lover in your life.

this is of course a copy of manifesto YSL but in a lighter version. Longevity 3 hours and very close to skin. It opens with something fresh, I think orange and after 10minutes settles to an oriental vanilla. I hoped it lasted a little bit longer at least on my clothes (like some other perfumes), but unfortunately no trace to it.

This starts out with a hint of something medicinal, and ends up a sweet vanilla powder. Wears pretty close to the skin on me but you can spray as much as you like when it's such a great price!

Looking at the presentation, we could think this is a copy of La petite robe noire, but actually this is a very good copy of Manifesto by YSL. Maybe less strong, longevity is very correct.

Just bought this in a blind buy. Lasted less than an hour on my skin. Sulphur, musty smell. Not sweet smelling at all, but more like a rotting bouquet. Just awful on me. I honestly intended to give it a chance, but it started to give me a headache. Even after scrubbing it off in the shower, I can still smell it. I'm just happy I didn't pay too much for it. Add it to my swap list.

I haven't had luck with Jeanne Arthes... the Vanilla Apple wasn't what I expected (too much tobacco smell, not enough gourmand/sweet) the summery fruit scents have no longevity/potency and one was just old lady horrible.... so I wasn't expecting much with this one.... and still decided to shell out a $13.25 blind buy (from ebay with free shipping... I live in the middle of nowhere and have to blind buy all my perfumes based on notes and reviews). Well.... this perfume is AMAZING!! It's so soft and creamy and sweet. And the caramel and praline smell like Katy Perry's Sheer Killer Queen to me (I love that smell). I don't get the fruit notes... can't immediately smell any pineapple or grapefruit. But i do get the woody gourmand yumminess, and that is all that matters to me. I immediately went to the ebay seller and bought TWO more. Yum yum! If anyone has more Jeanne gourmands to recommend, I'll hear them!! I like my perfumes sweet-sweet like cupcakes and candy! ;) Day 2 of my love affair with this perfume! To me, it is a great, cheap alternative to the Naughty and Nice Fantasy perfumes by Britney Spears. The soft sweetness with a hint of woods and powder/creaminess (Naughty is more woody, Nice is more powdery). I just can't get enough of this affordable lovely scent!

WONDERFUL! This is the most scrumptious fragrance I have ever laid hands on. I am swooned, wrapped and engulfed in thoughts of love. It is just in time for St.Valentine for me. If cupids' bow had a syringe full of these ingredients launched into it, this is how you would experience it. The "love effect" hearts replacing eyes and all. Top notes- Sweet Citrus,sandalwood (lemon and pineapple with tonka bean) (about 10 minutes) dry down is quick but steady Mid notes- Caramel, praline, vanilla, (dessert) not overly done, romantic sweet Drydown- black currant, orange blossom maybe some lily(contributes to the clean undertones) I don't smell any cedar, jasmine I put this lightly on my pressure points and hot zones at 8:30am. It is now 2:30pm and I am still "sweet".

I did a side-by-side comparison with this and Manifesto. I have to say that Capricieuse is nearly identical, except that it is about half-volume. The two smell different for about the first 30 minutes. The initial citrusy burst is similar, but obviously not the same. Manifesto is much stronger, and holds an almost "peppery" smell. After the fourth hour, I am hard pressed to tell them apart, except that Capricieuse is still about half as strong. Manifesto holds a tad more vanilla at this point, but not much. They are both very sweet and a little powdery in their drydowns. I really liked my Manifesto sample and took a chance on Capricieuse...I am VERY glad that I did. I think that all but the most sensitive noses will find it a great substitute.

Jeanne Arthes fragrances are a bit hit and miss, so my review will be rather neutral for this one. Capricieusse starts off as very nice, you can definitely see the similarity to YSL's Manifesto. It smells good for a while, like 1-2 hours, but after that it takes an artificial, medicinal turn. By that stage, the scent is largely gone, however the artifical base sticks for quite a while bearing a whiff of the initial feel turned/faded. That's not so off putting but neither pleasant. I'll be still keeping and using my bottle but won't be repurchasing.

I would have gladly paid far more for this perfume. As it is, I paid $11.95 for 3.4 ounces. It starts off with a fruity, very slight citrusy feel that soon blends in with a warm vanilla and caramel dry-down that is soft and delicious. It is NOT as overpowering in that way as Fancy or Fantasy, both of which can easily suck the oxygen out of a room. But it does have excellent longevity. Several hours later I'll get a whiff of a delightful scent that is fresh and cozy -- a combination very well done.

Sweet smell with some accords of chunky chocolate praline with nuts:) and some metal notes of hot sugar like at "candy "Prada I think it disappeared very fast from skin leaving trace of alcohol but on closes it stayed better on pashmina. It not have so good dry down like more luxus perfumes but for this kind of price - very good quality . and bottle is very nice too.

I'm kinda misled, people told me this one is delicate and yummy, but I'm finding it quite sharp in the beginning. The mixture between the praline and the pineapple is really strong. Eventually in a few minutes you can sense some delicacy, it gets more tender perhaps for the tonka. I want to give it a chance, but it's definitely a winter baby.
