Rocky Man

This is a cheap French supermarket brand perfume but it's one of my absolute favourites to smell on a man. I'm very fussy about scents and this is a unique blend of lemon, basil and musk that is different enough to stand out from the avalanche of expensive brands that somehow manage to all smell the same, and yet not overtly unique that it alienates itself from the commercial market. It is one of a select few scents, including Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey, that has a hypnotising effect on me. I have yet to smell it on a guy that can pull it off though. It requires a wearer with a certain sense of class and style who doesn't limit themselve by thinking they should only purchase expensive brands to prove a point.

This review is for Rocky Man Black - If you just judge this EdT by price ($9.99 at Gordmans) and the packaging, you might be missing out on a very nice fragrance. To my nose it reminds me of a soapier, more floral and less spicy Drakkar Noir with excellent performance. I've worn it three times and I could see someone using this for work and most things casual. I can also see a younger person who might be wary of Drakkar wearing this. I bought the Rocky Man Irridium too and based on a couple sprays on my wrist it's a very nice EdT as well. Update: After many more wearings I would describe Rocky Man Black as Lomani layered with Preferred Stock.

My mom gave it to me as a gift after a travel. The worst perfume I ever had. Not my style, definitely.

People keep talking about how it reminds them 80s or early 90s and has "that barbershop" vibe. Perhaps it is true, but it is not for everyone. I tried it on my wrist for several occasions, as this fragrance has somewhat interesting packaging and bottle. The bottle in particular is quite similar to Le Male by JPG, but there are no parallels in terms of similarity. It is a somewhat bitter-sweet lemon fragrance with a couple of green spicy notes. Initially the user gets a blast of alcohol lemon water, however it is not unpleasant. It is hard for me to rate it as Edt as I personally see it as a Aftershave Cologne on steroids, which is neither unique nor very interesting, but combines some of the notes of the 90s. Young men would stay away from this, as this is neither fougere, gourmand or aromatic, however this fragrance is not repulsive. It can be seen as "harsh" by Today's standards. However I personally am not against such scents. I cannot say that I like it, but I cannot say that I hate it either. As a cologne or aftershave it could be a good present for a male who likes classic notes. The initial alcohol burst is a bit off-putting, however this is far from worst I tried in the price range. Usable? Yes. Very.

It has definitely an 80s vibe, I would describe it as cool water without the lavender opening and the aquatic notes, I've owned cool water and after some time I couldn't stand the harsh opening, this has a very nice lemony opening and in the drydowm it becomes cool water I'd say. Longevity and projection are just average but it's a quality perfume, I like to spray it liberally after shower. The price is right and the packaging is good. If you want a cheap but quality lemony perfume with an 80s vibe that's it

This is nice, bit spicy fragrance, i like these barbershop kind of vibe, citrus with musk blends well, it is a maby for older people, basil and artemisia gives it a bit spicy note. Kind of vibe that you get perhaps from Pacco Rabbane por home, Drakkar Noir,... I think that even some exspensive fragrances have less effective projections, than this one. If you have chance to buy it..., my thumbs up.

just acquired it today. give me a few days a few weeks a few wearings till I give my 2 cents worth on it :)

interesting reviews but the pack is awful...
