Brilliance

I'm so glad Brilliance has been added! It's a favorite and I usually get complements when I wear it. That said, now that I've been playing with higher end scents, I'd also say it's not sophisticated and it can seem a little harsh in contrast. It is indeed fresh, generally floral - maybe the lilac stands out a hair - and the basenotes are present from the outset. What you smell at the beginning is what you get. Also smells the same year round unlike a lot of other more complex scents. Makes me think of the 1st day when you can open the windows in spring. It's inexpensive, lasts pretty well (especially the musk) and isn't overwhelming. A good office scent. Excellent choice for when you just want to smell good.

This is all about LOTV. It is a bit like regular Jessica McClintock but more mature, not as sweet and woodier. Very pretty and strong.

This fragrance checks all the boxes for me: Green, Floral, Lilac, and Lily of the Valley.... so it was a given this would show up in my Christmas loot (thanks, Mom!). While theoretically this should be a bullseye, it's not. "Brilliance" a nice fragrance, but not a great fragrance. I get the green, but not the lilac. I get the floral, but not the lily of the valley. It's just a nice floral fragrance with something a little bit jarring about it. Not necessarily jarring in a bad way, but there's a sharp undertone that doesn't quite fit and doesn't belong there. I will continue to wear this fragrance occasionally until it's gone, because my mom gave it to me and she's no longer with us, but I probably wouldn't buy it again. "Caresse" by Fragonard is a better fragrance if you like but don't love "Brilliance." The composition is nothing like "Brilliance" but the overall effect is the same, with the sharp notes replaced with something gentle and fruity.
