Rausch

I can smell a FRUIT (citrus? pineapple?). Rausch smells like a smoky candied fruit. This fruit is not listed, but it reminds me of Black XS (not kidding) and Oud Immortel Byredo. The sandalwood is there, but it's hidden by the other notes. After a shower, you will be left with some ambroxan on your skin. The worst part happens if you go to bed without showering. In the morning, the remaining skin scent is identical to dried saliva of a smoker. But on clothes, the dry down is divine. The opening is gorgeous. This is not a sillage monster. My colleagues didn't smell my 4 sprays, they had to come close. They said the Jubilation I wore the day before (also 4 sprays) was much more potent. EDIT: This stuff has incredible longevity. I did not shower. 16 hours after application, I sprayed some Déclaration d'un Soir before going to bed. This actually made Rausch reappear and projecting, and it is the only thing I could smell. So, as I said above, Rausch is not a projection monster but YOU will smell it all day long. Perhaps too special to be a signature, but too good so I will always have a bottle of it.

I am wearing my sample of Rausch this evening....very nice, elegant, full-flavored, oudy but not overly oudy, oud fragrance that, in my opinion, works for both the guys and gals. In some respects it's a typical oud-vanilla-amber fragrance, but Rausch has a couple ingredients that make this scent very interesting such as cypriol oil and some kind of fruity notes. Sometimes I detect a strawberry which makes it lean slightly more feminine; sometimes pineapple which makes it lean slightly more masculine; and sometimes a strawapple just to make things ever more interesting. Although Rausch has only been on my skin for about an hour, I can tell that it's going to have solid above-average performance. But the folks at Schwarzlose crafted a Western oud fragrance that doesn't get out-of-control or wreak havoc. Moreover, I'm picking-up an ISO-E-Super accord that just seems to work with this creation, which I am enjoying very much at this point in my experience.

I feel like this perfume does what everyone says Musc Ravageur does. It smells like skin + sex. It drives me nuts that people just repeat the ad copy when they go on about Musc Ravageur. So it's accepted as the perfume that smells like sex just because everyone reads the ad copy. The best thing I ever read about it, someone said something along the lines of "it smells like a Cinnabon got dragged across sweaty balls." Which I thought was funnyy as hell but I never got that skin sweat sex smell from it myself. Anyway, I never "got" that perfume, it just smells to me like a basic &itch of an amber. When I smelled Rausch, my reaction was: Ah, THAT'S what they were trying to do with Musc Ravageur. It helped me appreciate that perfume, but this is one I actually crave to smell, though I feel like it's a little scandalous to douse yourself in and then go out in public.

To my nose, this is sex in a bottle. And not the kind of sex you'd have after a night out, just for the sake of sex, but the kind of sex you have with someone you have incredible chemistry with. Someone you've been longing for, for a while. It's dirty, it's sweet, it's musky. It's manly. Or is it feminine? That's the thing: Not everyone can pull this one off. It's the kind of scent that will choose you, and not the other way round. I never buy a perfume at first sniff, but that's how long it took me before I had to make this scent my signature perfume. I felt as though I just had no other choice. This is also not the kind of perfume you want to smell on a strip of paper - it needs to be on your skin. If you're right for it, it'll let you know.

Veronique Nyberg whiffed on the naming of this bottle. Instead, this fragrance should be called, "You can't go a day without me."....I find this oriental to be spirit lifting, sensual, and relaxing. It didn't take long for me to realize that this was in the territory of Big Boy sillage. The combination of patchouli, amber and vanilla never smelled better. The aroma of vanilla bean paste glazed over cooked wood is more than enough reason to crack the head of the piggy bank. The Scentstory comparisons are true but it isn't the same back up when the real fragrance is in front of you. BLIND BUY WORTHY

I have tried many fragrances, but continue to think of this as my all time favourite. An amazing sweet, smokey, dirty oud. I get the night club thing - it is sexy but grungy at the same time. Something in this scent really clicks with me. There is a slightly repulsive dirtiness in the background that adds to its edginess. At the same time I keep wanting to smell it and will grab it out of the cupboard in passing to give the sprayer a sniff. I am an addict. It is the fragrance that to me, more than any other oozes sex. I can't get enough of it.

This is a sweet, skanky fragrance. It's animalic (which I love when done correctly) and this one is done correctly. This is not a fragrance for beginners into the world of niche perfumery. This is not just vanilla and amber. The oud is very pronounced in this fragrance. This is perfect for the cooler weather. I fear this would be a little too funky in the heat. But this is one I happily wear in the winter.

It does not really work on my skin, but I love it on others! It is dark, yet fresh with the patchouli and smells like nothing else! really special and luxurious! on clothes it stays for days and the projection is really good!

Rausch will not be ignored! I'm still getting to know this beautiful fragrance and find it irresistible. This works for me magnificently if worn with restraint. It's taken me several attempts to find the right number of sprays for my body (1) and the right location (low on the decolletage). My first wearing nearly ended in tears and included headaches and sneezing fits. As much as I am attracted to oud and incense, 3 sprays was way too much. I do wonder if I am sensitive to oud, or if perhaps it is the cypriol oil that caused that reaction? With a light hand, however, it is immediately gourmand on my skin, though far from edible, and, impossibly but I swear I feel it, a deep pulsing rose. The projection is almost embarrassing, not for the faint of heart or shy. I received a wonderful compliment from a young handsome man who described my scent as "vintage and something delicious" and would not stop sniffing the air around me. It's powerful and takes no prisoners, leans masculine, yet I know this works with my chemistry perfectly. The best news; at one spray per wearing, I've got a 50ml lifetime supply. A blind buy I am immensely happy to have in my wardrobe.

A very nice woody/vanilla, perfectly balanced, with that sawdust/cutting edge like a papyrus leaf still green on the top notes. The base then evolves into something almost dry, powdery earth + plastic (both classic and dark, vegetal and invigorating at the same time as very urban), even a citrusy hundredth in a way, definitely original, which gives a whole other dimension to this perfume. Somehow, it reminds me of the kind of composition we often think of at Comme des Garçons, maybe in a less convoluted way (which is not necessarily a bad thing). I think it's both very modern and far from the classic pitfall of the vanilla/oud/sandalwood composition that is too sickening. Overall, it seems to me that Nyberg accomplishes a beautiful figure here by making things both intense/spicy, detailed/spoken, and very light on the nose, skin along with the mind. I almost wish the bottles were a little more elaborate, or appealing in a more artistic way, because conceptually, the brand really seems to be holding something up. In any case, it is once again a beautiful discovery and clearly a perfume that I would enjoy giving as a gift.

Very interesting perfume. It has a very strong and sharp opening that kind of smells tangy on me and I kept checking if it had any citrusy notes. I don’t get any Oud or incense notes but what I get is intriguing enough for me to keep wanting to smell it. I wonder at what stage the vanilla and Amber kicks in or it is just mild and unnoticeable to my nose in this blend. I have tried layering it with some of the sweet scents I have and it has made the scent a lot more interesting. Longevity is very decent and it is unisex safe. The scent is not so unique that you will say “Ha, she is wearing Rausch” but it is also not mainstream either and generic that you will smell like so many other people. I got an extremely great deal on it and it was a blind buy so I am happy with what I ended up with and I can wear it on it’s own or layer it to create something unique to suit my mood. I had never heard of this brand and I am happy with my first encounter with them. I have the bottle with the limited edition gold front and that’s what attracted me to the perfume, so I like the bottle.

Yet again another well balanced scent, the amber and oud gap is almost indistinguishable. And sweet balsamic/ frankincense (Cypriol) note tries to sneak in at the drydown as you take a hard whiff to understand the notes better and eventually comes out as oud & vanilla prominent perfume. Beast projection and sillage just like other J.F.S.B i have had a taste of before this. I can't imagine myself wearing this unless I'm going to an old church but it is one of the best in the house. Both this and Trance have an identical oud DNA but this one has it stronger than most within the house. Genuinely speaking, so far this is the most "frankincense done right" cologne you will get compared to most bottles out there. I have yet to like the "frankincense" note in most cases except this one who might have just delivered it well. V. Nyberg knows how to play that faul and specific note well, as she did in Invictus victory, as she did with styrax in leader 6, and with labdanum in trence. All in purpose of embodying a concept. Crazy lady.

This is a badass fragrance! It's like if Dirty English skips the part where it holds a razor against your throat, and promises that it will just beat you. For starters, it surely sounds kind of intimidating to a non-German speaker. I don't know, but if I'd say to someone "Dude, your perfume rocks! What is it?" and he answered "Rausch, Schwarzlose" I'd think that he has just told me to shut up and get lost. Or "Go back to your mother boy while you're still not crying!", if there was any lipstick on the lips that would have uttered the words. But I have a feeling that in the end, we would be best buddies, trying to bring drinking the bars dry under "Mission accomplished" status, so as to justify its name. Something tells me that its "meaning business" aura would be a blast combined with some 30 years old Talisker. Amber, oud and sandalwood, drenched in smoked and peated liquid gold. Can you think of anything better?...

funny perfume! I've got all mixed feelings after spraying it - on one hand it instantly reminded me of Baccarat Rouge 540 (my all time favorite perfume), on another I felt a strong urge to open the window. it smelled like the morning after a passionate night, in a hot room in summer. it was overwhelming and I couldn't imagine it being worn in the office. some half an hour later, the similarity to BR540 is still there, less sweet, less cloying and I love it! I would totally wear it in public - maybe not apply it in a public washroom though!

Elegantly oud/amber/vanilla fragrance, different than others due to the addition of cypriol oil. There is a slight sweetness to it, not sure what it is. I own many oud fragrances and this one is the most wearable, whether at the office or socially. It is not beast, rather moderate, but that what makes it so wearable. Overall I like it a lot, very well done.

I tried this for the first time today, the best compliment I can give it (and I really like it) is that it completely captures the spirit of a cool night in late autumn on the streets of Berlin... think the dark smoky corners of a Kreuzberg bar... maybe Würgeengel. It’s a place to where I long to return, but for now, this will take me there.

Wore this tonight and my wife noticed it, says it smells very formal, like what you might wear at a business meeting. I was surprised because I didn't get that but her nose is quite sensitive and I trust her opinion. She like it though and called it a "keeper. She does not notice many of mine so this is a compliment for this one.

An ancient ambery oud perfume with a sweet background of vanilla, with an incense character from the frankincense (the frankincense was not mentioned in the notes, but I notice that this feeling may come due to the cypriol oil note). It gives you the feeling of entering a sacred place.

Very sensual, you can feel a magic blend of oud, amber and vanilla which gives a super sexy vibe. It was also a blind buy for me and it's simply a unique scent that got me lots of compliments as well. Performance is excellent. 8/10

Heavy amber, sweet vanilla and sandalwood are dominant in this scent. Definitely worth a try simply because of its originality! It's a bit too cloying for me, though.
