Treffpunkt 8 Uhr

I adore this fragrance, it’s lovely! Right out of the gate it has such a playful, youthful energy eventually drying down to a comparison I will draw in a moment but what’s interesting is that Treffpunkt 8 uhr gives quite a different progression. First it opens with that tropical citrus and gingery tingle and will I give it a mango accord as stated? I mean sure, it didn’t smack right away of mango but it’s definitely a fleshy, tropical fruity smell and it’s gorgeous like mangoes so far enough. Then where it could look from the notes like this is a Timbuktu thing pairing mango and vetiver this takes a crucial turn giving a musky, powdery iris type heart just revealed quite quickly and blending with that fruity opening to make something very soft and sweet. Then it retreats quite a bit and enters a final phase which I suddenly realised what it reminded me of... L’Artisan Batucada! The spirit and energy of this perfume is very similar and I love the fact it develops quite differently and is no clone by any means, it’s worth having both.

Despite the other comments I have to say that I really love this scent. I ordered the set of samples from the brand and this is my absolute favorite! It's fruity, fresh and especially the opening - I can smell mango and sage - was a total surprise for me. Plus I think it is really rare to have such a nice unisex vetiver perfume. and it lasts forever!

Lovely dry, cold, woody vetiver that doesn’t go powdery or retro. Definitely grapefruit the first hours and then just the vetiver and pepper. This is such a good all arounder. Works for man or woman and all occasions. You will always smell fresh, sophisticated and approachable.

Treffpunkt-8-Uhr is an initially unusual take on an aromatic vetiver-centred scent that settles quickly into something generic. Apparently, this is a modern revival of an old scent from this house, but the attention-grabbing opening that quickly runs out of steam is in keeping with many modern niche perfumes. T8U opens with dry, woody vetiver that permeates this scent throughout. There is a fruity undertone, led by citrus, becoming more tropical with the emergence of mango as it progresses. There is an initial discordance thanks to a strong herbal acccord, but it settles down, adding a nice aromatic edge as it progresses. The mango subsides after a while, but the citrus remains and it becomes more traditional as it progresses. It becomes slightly balsamic and warm as it develops, with ginger in particular adding warm spice in the later stages, complementing the woody-citrus accord nicely nicely. I don't get much saffron, but it might contribute to the spicy balsamic accord. It fades quickly to a woody-amber skin scent, aromatic until final fade. Sillage is moderate and longevity is on the weak side. Initially intriguing, Y8U is ultimately underwhelming with slightly limited performance, but is a reasonably pleasant, unisex balsamic-vetiver scent for warm weather. 3/5.

Treffpunkt opens with soft, fresh and natural smelling grapefruit notes. Normally I find grapefruit notes to be sharp, but this note smells very fresh and welcoming. The grapefruit is joined by the warm and herbal smell of sage with a bit of saffron thereafter, spicy ginger, and then by some barely sweet, not quite ripe, mango. I love how all the different notes pop in to say hello during the first hour like an orchestra with each instrument having a short solo piece. Vetiver is of course there all along, a nice woody, dry background and becomes heavier in the mid development. In the final drydown I get more saffron and mango developing into a longlasting skin scent. As others have said, this fragrance does not have much sillage but it will smell fantastic to anyone who comes close to you. It is subtle and well done if you want a quiet and classy niche scent for work or for a special clasy evening out to a fancy restaurant, the opera, anything extra special.

A kind of tropical vetiver, slightly spicy, relatively original. It is much less aggressive for the nose than I expected, rather creamy/dry, very sensual, and very light on the grapefruit. The saffron reveals itself after a few minutes, to add a sort of slightly plastic veil around the overall composition, and it's again very pleasant and delicate (edit: nothing left of it afterward). An Iso E bomb, guys? I'm very very far from it. On the dry down, I really have the feeling of an Encre Noire, with a tiny touch of ripe mango, but still hidden behind this very explicit vetiver. I really like it, and it's a blend that I think is relatively uncommon, without taking the party to blow the whole house.

Treffpunkt 8 Uhr is a pretty straight-forward gentleman's office fragrance that I would classify as a woody aromatic instead of aromatic fruity. As Kiss mentioned, I too get ISO-E Super, vetiver, aromatic fresh spices along with a touch of mango and grapefruit. Performance is okay in that it lasts 6-hours and projects moderately on my skin. I like this fragrance but, to be brutally honest, there are a ton of designers that have done this genre just as good if not better for a fraction of the asking price. For example, Terre d'Hermes beats this one hands down every day of the week.

The vetiver works great with the tropical notes. In the opening the mango and grapefruit are also prominent however the mango quickly dries down. In the drydown the floral notes, especially sage start appearing. I also get a slightly smoky note in the background. While this starts cold and almost mineralic, over time it turns warmer and more spicy. The opening is unique and interesting but towards the end it becomes a bit boring.

This is meant to be a re-issue of one of their old fragrances, but it seems to me very contemporary and generic. It is a synthetic fruity fresh concoction, much quieter than the other three perfumes of the label, but with the same base, although toned down this time. It is inoffensive, but lacks any distinctiveness. Good longevity, but not great projection. 5 out of 10.

Peach skin.... as the drydown, i get more of peach skin than mangos! it has that water dew on grass, water mineral notes, and cold mild vanished vetiver. The blend is very breezy, cold, and flowing like air in a cold summer days, or spring in a wide green field. The brand in short wrote, "The excitement of a blind date". I don't know if i can relate to that but i see and feel some butterflies in stomach vibes, and could be (just could be) innocent blind date. Beautiful indeed.

kinky. Thursday evening foreplay including someone's seriously vetivery office tie. his (historically croatian) necktie will smell suspiciously ripe all day long after their mangoey tryst. only for zoom meetings. cannot rate kink. 3/8

the Vetiver in this perfume smells very sharp and spicy to me. Nothing tropical about this. Dry down is less spicy and more woody. I do smell the very tiny gin/ citrus note. That's all.

Vetiver. And then some more vetiver. Where is the mango? I am disappointed :(

After hitting a homerun with Trance, I had high hopes for J.F.Schwarzlose offering of Treffpunkt. This starts off light and transparent with the woody base noticeably present. Smells like laundry detergent infused with something from the tropic regions. A classic button down collar shirt kind of fragrance basked in all that summertime glory. In the end, was I wowed? Not in the least bit. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting for the scent to become interesting but the developmental process had a different idea in mind. Tresspunkt is an average fragrance with no sillage, no longevity, no projection too light(even for a woman) and way overpriced in terms of value. You are basically paying 170 dollars for the idea that a scent was once upon a time on your skin. In the end, you're left with something less than stellar and uninspiring.

I enjoyed this very much and found it unusual in coupling the mango, which I found persisted through the wear, with vetiver. It’s all in the mind of the beholder but I found it quite light with something a little bit sleazy in it, not all fruit and chillyness, there’s warmth. I like this so much it might be the purchase when next in Berlin. Just get the sample pack because these are really well made perfumes.

I find vetiver makes fragrances lean too traditionally masculine for my tastes. And this opens with a blast of citrus and vetiver. Very fresh and aromatic. There is a spicy warmth beneath this, which is lovely and much more my thing, but I just can’t get away with so much vetiver.

Wow. Review below echoes my feeling exactly. The tonne of vetyver is far too masculine, herbal bomb. The sweetness of the mango is there, not getting the fragrant aspects of that mango though I was hoping for... ** 200+ samples up for swap UK - pm me, check my customs! **

A slightly-masculine, aromatic-fruit fougere. Top notes of ginger, citrus, and mango are very interesting but as you might guess - fade very quickly. So, this fragrance is really all about a high quality, aromatic-vetiver base which projects throughout the day.

Very boyish scent...sharp pine which morphs into something artificial and somewhat sweet yet still quite green. Once again, there's a retro "childish" element in the mix that is off-putting to me :(
