Softly Jil Sander Serene

I'm pretty surprised this wasn't more popular. This smells like fresh bed linen and a slight cashmere softness. I complete get the whole "vick's vapo rub" comment, but that works for me. My partner falls asleep really fast when i wear this to bed so it's clearly not justme who finds it soothing.

This is intruiging and very lovely. To me, the best of the softlies. Cool, calm, collected - but with a secret heartbeat. Like an elegant lady that has a little perspiration on her upper lip because she just secretly ran up the stairs. Edit: no longevity. Shame.

Very "soft" fragrance indeed. Lovely scent, leaning to baby powder on my skin but unfortunately is gone in 1-2 hours.

I'm so torn on this. It smells delightful, but on a man. Very very masculine, it completely takes me back to 10 years ago, to a cologne one of my male classmates had in middle school. Otherwise, weirdly summery, going to bed early on a comfortable summer night kind of feel. I can't stop smelling it, but I don't know if I should keep it...

Gone baby, gone indeed. I had the shower gel, and believe it or not; it lasted longer than the perfume! I really hoped my skin chemistry was different from the other reviewers and the perfume would stick, but no. Too bad, because I really love the scent!

It’s difficult for me to describe this perfume, but I really want to share my impressions. I received it quite recently. I was looking (once again) for something to add to my collection and came across it. I saw the description “powdery” and decided to give it a try. The price was reasonable. The bottle pleased me: heavy, well-made, flawless, and приятно to hold in the hand. But the scent itself... is strange. It is simultaneously off-putting - at times even somewhat repulsive to me - and at the same time attractive. There is an impression of a brand-new doll’s head, a certain plastic note. And yet, despite all this, it’s captivating. I keep wanting to return to my wrist and inhale it again. It seems to me that there is something of Kenzo Amour, Ultraviolet Paco Rabanne, in it, and even a little of The Ghost in the Shell by Etat Libre d'Orange - though it’s hard to say exactly which notes overlap. At the same time, for me it doesn’t really resemble anything else and certainly does not remind me of Sensi by Armani (which I own). If I were to describe it metaphorically, this is how alien plastic flowers grown by androids might smell. There is something not entirely “human” about it - powdery and synthetic - and that is precisely what intrigues me. It sits very close to the skin, with almost no diffusion or trail. The longevity is not impressive either. The bottle is new - perhaps with time the fragrance will open up differently. I understand that this review is more about feelings than about notes. But sometimes perfume isn’t about analysis - it’s about emotion. And this one evokes conflicting feelings in me.

Aw man what a disappointing blind buy. This isn't a bad smell but when first applied it smells very alcohol-like. After it dries down a bit it just reminds me of cold clean sheets but without any sweetness. It is kind of medicinal to my nose. I wish the benzoin was more prominent in this, I feel like it would have improved the scent profile and would make it less medicinal. It has no projection and disappears within an hour unfortunately.

It's a VERY light nutmeg centered perfume. Grounding effect is subtle but definitely there. It should be marketed as an aromatherapy fragrance and sold in yoga studios. I like the light purple hue of the bottle but it doesn't match the smell. It's not that kind of serenity.

This smells truly medicinal. Reminds me of Vicks Vapour Rub. It’s a scrubber. Nothing about this fragrance is feminine to me. I’ll be looking to get rid of my bottle asap. Very unsuccessful blind buy. Blegh.

The first time i tested it, i found it a bit too cold and clinical. Today i like it more. It’s soft, slightly sweet... it’s ok. A bit boring but not bad. Sillage is close to the skin, longevity is 4 hours. Not the best from Jil Sander. Final note: 5/10

I've got the body oil, shower gel and hand cream (I have VERY dry skin) the oil is really good, and makes a super bath oil with just a small squirt in running water. The hand cream is very moisturising, more than the well known brands.
