Sun Sea Salt & Genista

I picked up a bottle on impulse today as it was only €19 and I have zero regrets! This is gorgeous! The opening reminds me of Olympea, although it’s quite different. It’s the vanillic salt that resembles Olympéa, but the airy mimosa and light hint of citrus makes it stand on its own. It could’ve been a lighter summer flanker for Olympea though, which makes me happy. It is a very light and delicate scent, with a creamy vanillic saltiness, that -like Olympea- smells like salty vanillic skin, rather than sun screen. The salt and vanilla notes in this are much lighter than in Olympea though, and the mimosa really takes centre stage. It also reminds me of 5th Avenue as it has a similar light sophisticated summer sea shore vibe. It had that dewy aspect to it that 5th Avenue has as well. It’s like 5th Avenue and Olympea merged into one, and I’m here for it! I only bought it today, so I can’t really speak to longevity yet, but as it’s quite subtle and light, I’ve noticed it’s easy to go nose blind to at times. I do think you do get a few hours out of it, as I notice it still kind of dances around me. To prolong longevity I might layer it over a mimosa and jasmine dry body oil that I like to use as they have the exact same mimosa note. EDIT: When applied liberally over the mimosa dry body oil, the mimosa comes forward a lot stronger and overpowers the resemblance to Olympea (which was subtle to start with), it’s still there, but not easy to pick up on.

UPDATE: Having worn this for over a month now, it has quickly become one of my favourite summer scents. The mimosa is so bright and happy! Longevity is fine, it lasts all day on me, and the mimosa note stays bright and clear all day long (longevity gets much better where the bottle has been open for a few weeks). This is very easy to wear, smells very elegant and bright and smells waaaaay more expensive than it is. It smells like something you might smell in a lady on a yacht imo. Big love!

This is a unique scent in my (admittedly) limited experience. It's rather simple and linear, but, at the same time, so amazingly easy to wear. There are no discordant notes, the flowers-and-salt blend is flawless, and the only regret I have is that when I go outside, it can't come with me. Oh no, this is, I feel, a strictly stay-at-home fragrance. But, if there ever was a perfume that was invented to portray the word 'relaxation', this must be the one.

I completely agree with the review below me Its such a light skin scent. Linear and bright powdery happy fluffy slightly sweet mimosa it lasts around 3 hours on me but i’m still so happy with it 😍 i remember when i first smelled it it smelled really weird and unusual to me it might be that broom note. oh i also don’t find it overly salty at least to my nose the salt in here does some magic without making it obviously salty

I just tried sun eau de parfum and loved it. But this? HOLY SACRED COW, this rocks. Salty sweet air ,mixed with a playful honeyed pollen note. It also smells a tiny bit like melon. This scent reminds me of Olympea, but stripped back to put salt at the focal point. This scent knows what its all about and I'm all here for it. Potential for a back-up is super real.
