Krakow

That this fragrance is listed as Unisex amazes me. This is 100% a masculine scent. It's the trend now among niche fragrance designers which I find confuses things because I'm looking for something masculine. You're not casting a wider net... Anyway, whinging aside. This is very much a clone of aventus. i don't have any creed aventus at hand, just aventus absolu. Even though pineapple's not listed as a note for absolu I still get it in spades and it's really the only thing that I can detect different between Krakow by JMP and aventus. From memory I can't tell a difference between Krakow and OG Aventus. It's remarkably similar, but I sprayed it on this morning and it's still going where as I'd expect Aventus to have died down a lot by now. This makes sense as the Krakow is a higher concentration as an extrait de parfum rather than an EDP. Price wise they're very close. I can't see Krakow in anything other than a 30ml bottle on their website for about 100e, aventus being 300e where I live for 100ml. So I suppose if you want Aventus scent with better peformance, from a smaller brand or to have a part of Kraków in your wardrobe you might go for Kraków by JMP (or as I'm calling it from now on Creedomir Aventuski). I won't be buying it because like Creed I've not connected with it enough, and for 100e for 30ml I'd need to. If you like it but don't love it you could look at Mont Blanc Explorer. However Aventus gets more expensive the less you buy, 30ml here is 170e. Maybe JMP will bring out a larger better value per ml bottle. Who knows. About the progression of the notes: It opens a lot differently to creed. No citrus or pineapple. Instead it's almost like pine. Strangely I get a hint of something not unpleasant but like wallpaper paste on plaster and turpentine. I get lavender. Then the dry down happens quickly in about 15 minutes and it's linear musky with the ambergris scent in there. Very much like OG creed. Good performace og creed.

Alright I totally changed my mind on this perfume. It's top tier stuff. I fell in love with the sample I had and rued the day it ran out. But recently I made a trip to the wonderful city that is the name sake of the fragrance itself and picked up a bottle (30ml for 450 PLN which is about 100 Euro) My new nickname for this scent is Aventus on Krak. It's as though someone took Aventus fed it a strict diet of Steroids and Viagra and three lines of coke and let it loose in a whore house. It's got a lot of the DNA of Aventus but it's got a lot more green notes. It's super heavy on the Ambergris. All in all it's just an absolutely Kraking scent that performs like a beast. It's a bit pricey for me to have it as an every day wear, so it's special occasions and impressions juice for me.

The opening: a whole bunch of ivy mixed with freshly cut grass. I've lived in Krakow for 17 years now and I assure you this not how the city smells. But it is very enjoyable in a fragrance. Leather in the second layer of this is not the kind of leathery scent you can smell in the Main Square, either. But it's for the better. The slight incense notes creep in and that it very Kraków, with its many churches all around. I like the scent a lot, even though it's not what it claims it will be.

Ivy and green grass. All the rest in the background. Weak projection. If You like Etat Libre ... „You or someone like You”, You might like this one also.
