Gardenia

A decent gardenia scent. I would say it's a soliflore in that it is pretty close to the real gardenia scent and not much else. I detect a tiny bit of ylang and perhaps muguet? It only lasts a couple of hours on my skin. Perhaps it would be good for layering?

please change the name into jo and i love... gardenia absolutely will wear this on my wedding day in April. this is amazing. fresh and lovely gardenia scent with a slightly sweet and pleasant jasmine. unfortunately it's gone too soon on my skin...

The best gardenia fragrance I have ever smelled! It is dead on true gardenia with not a lot of other fragrances in the way! I love love love it! I hope I can get a bottle soon. Jo Malone creates wonderful fragrances!

If you live in south east asia, this might gives you flashbacks. Almost all traditional wedding incorporate this flower for a mere decoration to important rituals. It's musky gardenia (Jempiring, Kaca Piring, Meulu) through and through. Beautiful, white flower that projects better than I expected.

Flashback to 80's. Bold, sweet, a bit heavy, wonderful, 1 spray goes a long way. Best in cold weather. Found a copy at perfume parlour uk and superhappy.

Had a wonderful reviewer Anamandy message me to advise me that the perfume I purchased was actually - Golden Gardenia as the original Gardenia by Jo Loves was discontinued . Also , Fragrantica hasn’t listed the new version so this review is for Golden Gardenia. I blind bought Golden Gardenia in a 50 ml bottle . I’m in love with white flowers especially gardenias and based on the reviews for the original version , I thought this would be my cup of tea. Lucky the store included a 1 ml sample so I didn’t need to use the bottle . I , now know why I was getting such sharp, spicy notes which weren’t included in the pyramid notes . This spicy note stayed throughout the scent’s journey . I’m not a spice fan and it’s actually revolting ! Can’t smell flowers just peppery cloves which I was advised could come from the Suede Cardamom and the Elemi Resin . Such a disappointment! Cannot understand why the original was discontinued .

I managed to get a sniff the strip testers of Gardenia and I immediately thought of my grandma. I distinctly remember her smelling exactly of this scent. It makes me wonder just what she uses to replicate this scent to the molecule! However, I am so tempted to purchase a small bottle just to keep her memory with me (she's still alive!) but in the coming years when she might not be. As for myself, a nineteen year-old, I feel that Gardenia is a bit mature; Orange Tulle may be more my age (and taste). Delightful, nostalgic, rich scent nonetheless!

Oh man - this was an instant hit for me. I'm not usually someone who gets into florals much, but this destroyed me after the first application. It's really light, but damn sexy made more so with the nice hint of ylang ylang blended in. I had never tried a perfume with gardenia notes included prior to this launch but now I'm on the hunt for more. Jo Malone can do no wrong - I am a massive fan of her first line, and now there's this. Easily one of the best scents I've ever tried and addictive as hell.

Yes, a soliflore, but an impeccable one. I used to have a favourite gardenia bush in India, where we lived, and this IS the scent of it. It has all the facettes of real gardenia, and shows them progressively as the fragrance matures and entwines the wearer. I am not keen on Jo Loves perfumes, but this is good.

The fragrance is already gone! I just visited their website and it's nowhere to be found. All their bottles are different too now.. Maybe it's time for Fragrantica to update the other fragrances. I didn't even get to try it :(

I agree with LadyMurasaki, this is a soliflore. It may have lots of different notes, but all I got was Gardenia. It's very good Gardenia, but it stays the same and is a one note fragrance.

It's a confident, beautiful smell. It lasted on my skin after I sprayed it on in a jo loves shop.
