Cade & Cedarwood

I agree with others that it is a bit strange that this one came out with a Spring collection. This seems much more wearable in cold weather, which is when I tend to grab for it. Blind buy, no regrets. Probably not revolutionary, but Cade & Cedarwood is unlike others in my collection, so I enjoy it a lot. For me, I get a lot of powdery softness, which I don't tend to like, but it's couched in the woody smokey notes that make sure it stays out of the soapy zone. I am pleased with that. My husband does not like this one, but that said, it could be unisex easily with the right skin chemistry. Definitely has a dryness to it, like crunchy leaves near a bonfire in autumn. Because that's sort of my happy place, I dig it quite a bit. Beautiful through the dry down, although the opening notes can be a bit much for me. I can pick up nice whiffs of this on my sweaters days after spraying it just once. Love that! It's a limited edition, so I'll have to find a replacement for it when I get low. Definitely not signature scent material, but I live in a cold climate, so perfumes like this get a lot of play for me!

Yann Vasnier is so talented in creating woody scents. I enjoy this one as well as the last release "English oak & Hazelnut". The scent reminds me of Vanille Insensee from Atelier Cologne (and actually some others too). I do prefer this one for its extra layer of smoky woody notes and better performance. However, as a minimalist in fragrance collection, it is not a necessity for me. The composition ideology is quite similar to that of "English Oak & Hazelnut". Oh! The bottle is very pleasing! As a seasonal scent, i voted "LOVE"!

This is very nice! It’s woody, crisp & “dry” - smells like a pared down version of (discontinued) AdP Ginepro di Sardegna. I like that it’s fresh & airy, without citrus. I never knew Cade was juniper, it has an almost “fizzy” texture, similar to AdP Ginepro. Not in the slightest bit smoky imo, despite what it says here! Worth mentioning that the performance/longevity is amazing. I can still smell it on me after 12 hours. I got this reduced from an Estée Lauder outlet store, it deserves to be in JM permanent line up, imo.

Fantastic! Cade and Cedarwood is rich in the smoke and I love it! Cozy yet masculine. It reminds me slightly of Margiela's By the Fireplace because they both have a woodsy element. With C&C I feel like I am outside, in the autumn by a campfire but because this is a cologne the smoke note maintains a lightness that doesn't bog you down. I can't wait to wear this on a walk through the state park in October admiring the New England foliage!

Lovely fresh’n’sweet combo of energetic citruses, refreshing aromatic notes snd tender vanilla. It’s soft and light and, unfortunately, not too long lasting. It is a smooth woody smoky perfume with some leathery undertones and a spicy juniper-gin note lingering in the backgound and peaking through sometimes. Not heavy at all, light and airy (or as airy as a woody fragrance can be). Just like all JML perfumes it is not supposed to weigh you down. It's there to help you capture a fleeting mood, gone after a couple of hours so you can choose a different perfume to suit your fancy. The vanilla note here on fragrantica is somewhat misleading, the original JML description features labdanum, a resin with amber-y character. I think this is what gives the cologne its overall smoothness and is confused with vanilla. A very pleasant unisex fragrance. I own and enjoy it. Is it a must-buy for everybody? Probably not, it's too quiet understated and relaxed to awe the masses.

Scene -U are sitting in a big couch, cozy atmosphere in winter evening time, talking warm with ur lover, he hugs you in his arms. Inside the room there is a fireplace, cade(juniper) and cedarwood are burning inside, giving warm woody smoke. You are giggles with his funny story, he slips through your hairs with his fingers. Kind of -Romantic and warm fragrance -More than arm reach silage, 4 sprays on your skin can fill your car cabin, long lasting for all night -My recommendation, don't spray it on your neck, the smell will overwhelm you, you can feel headache by that, only spray on your wrists is already enough to make you can sniff it very clearly Appropriate for -You can wear it in day time or outside but I do think this fragrance is more suitable for giving romantic moment night at home -Candlelit dinner at home for your anniversary celebration, this fragrance is perfect to make your special day even more memorable -If you want to wear it night out, since it's not a sexy but warm perfume, then it's not suitable for your new hot purring night, but bettter for the moment when you already believe that he is best boyfriend and realize how lucky you found him. Warm feeling, that's all

I like the scent, but on my skin I just get this cumin note (aka sweat) that I can't bear...

I was super eager to test the Wild Flowers and Weeds collection following the success of last year's English Fields collection. I was a tad too late to the party, as most of the collection had sold out within the first fortnight, so I had only Lupin & Patchouli and Cade & Cedarwood left to sample. Cade & Cedarwood is a very pleasant offering from Jo Malone. I find it much more wearable than Lupin & Patchouli, but with that being said it is one of the least popular from this collection. This fragrance is very woodsy and somewhat masculine. Seeing that a majority of Jo Malone's consumers are female, there is the possibility that many found this a little too masculine for their tastes. It does have a slight aroma of sawdust, mixed with dusty vanilla and herbaceous juniper. I personally find this fragrance soothing and mesmerising. Admittedly I wouldn't own this fragrance to wear it, I would prefer to smell it on others or even use it as a room spray. I find it a little too heavy on the woods to be worn all day on my own skin. The projection is rather relentless which could be considered both a blessing and a fault. I will be ordering samples of the rest of the line just to sate my curiosity. So far I haven't discovered a new love from Jo Malone, but there's still a good chance that I might.

😍👍 The smell you smell from this perfume is different from what you expect. Amber can be clearly smelled in this perfume, but its not seen in the olfactory pyramid. Do you also smell the smell of books from this perfume?📖📚 بویی که ازین عطر استشمام میکنید با انچه که انتظار دارید متفاوت هست و البته به نظر من از انتظارتون بهتر هست. درکنار بوی برگهای سوزنی بوی امبر هم خیلی احساس میشه که در هرم نیومده . مخلوطی از خنکای برگ سوزنی و گرما ی امبر. کمی حس و حال کاغذ و کتاب قدیمی داره این عطر به نظرم.

It’s another spicy cedar. If you have Santal 33, Eau Duelle, By the Fireplace, Vanille Insensee, The Arcitect’s Club, or Bois de Balincourt, you probably don’t need this one. That being said, it is really lovely, just nothing innovative or original. And not something I think of as spring. Maybe a chilly summer’s night with a bonfire, wrapped in a cableknit, with a glass of scotch. That bottle though, daaaamn.

A woody spicy vanilla ! I really like the scent and it last a few hours . Not a beast mode projection but I just love the scent . I wish Jo Malone fragrances lasted longer . I notice with this line that smells are of great quality but the longevity and projection is moderate to low :/

straight woods, i get virtually no smoke from this so i'm surprised to see it listed among the note lineup! i would classify it as a light woodsy scent, with a touch of green. there's also the slightest fruity touch that reminds me a bit of plums
