Darjeeling Tea

I had first refused to try the 2 lightest-colored ones in fear that they might be too boring, but this one actually wasn't--it simply smelled bad! It was metallic and sour! So turns out, that's just what happens when you put them on those ceramic sticks (same thing happened to Chanel).. What a bad idea! Have they smelled it themselves?? Anyway, the lady insisted this particular one smells much better on the skin so I made room for it, and I'm so glad I did because it's now my 2nd favorite!

The white flowers definitely take the lead. They persist all the way through, but the artemisia is present in the dry down, giving that camphor/herbal note to the cologne. It's a lot like Honeysuckle and Davana, just not as sweet. Fair longevity and projection. It will sit pretty close to the skin after the first hour.

USD 205 for 175 ml. Unused, I really want to try this after pervious bottle is broken (USD 165 for partially used) but this arrived safely. Regarding the scent, I am honestly said that this is still fairly Tea-like and it is green, fresh and clean. It starts with Artemisia and Green accord dominantly Resulting in Bitter Tea (over-brew Tea) like. Not so long, before other White flower introduce to the scene. Mostly it is dry non-indolic semi-sweet jasmine, tiny bit powdery in Chinese tea manner. The scent melt together perfectly between Artemisia and Jasmine. I think it can be wear by both gender perfectly. Dress up a bit better but overall it is quite luxury. I personally think that the name “Darjeeling” might not really fit as Jasmine is prominent. “Jasmine Green Tea” would be a perfect name Scent is relatively subtle and thin perfect for every day use. I could proudly say to anyone that I love Jo Malone because Jo Malone teaches me love fragrance. In my mind, Jo Malone is a queen of tea-scented fragrance production. For Darjeeling Tea in Rare Tea Collection, It is really well-mixed floral and tea note. !!!! It’s sweet by floral composition like jasmine and other flowers, also relaxing green by tea. When I sprayed it, It‘s amazingly long-lasting on my skin, fair projection but close to the skin for many hours. What a nice fragrance! :)

Kolleksiyon da bulunan 6 parfümü İstinye park mağazasında deneme fırsatım oldu. Diğerlerinden ayrılan ve farklı bir havası olan buydu. Taze ve ferah bir havası var. Cicek değil ama yeşil baskın. Güzel bir parfüm ancak 900 TL fiyat ile performansı uyuşmuyor. Özel bir koku değil ve fiyatı öyle olması gerektiğini söylüyor. Açıkçası daha iyi kokular bekliyordum ama öyle değiller.

Hmm.. an interesting collection of 'tea' theme frags from Jo Malone. I have tried them all as I used to work for the company for many years and this particular collection was one of the least popular ever launched. The sales staff always found it difficult to sell this range to customers despite the beautiful presentation and packaging, and there are far nicer frags in the JM collection for way less cost. It was as though a frag creator at head office decided one day 'let's do an experiment to prove how dumb some consumers can be, let's make a range of tea flavoured scents, sell them at crazy prices just to prove people think a big name and extortionate price is always reflective of quality, ha ha!' so they concocted this extremely mediocre range of tea inspired scents, most of which make the wearer smell like they're wearing musty clothes stored in old, wooden trunks! No wonder JM had to heavily discount the stock to get rid of it. The product quality at JM has generally gone downhill since Jo sold her company to Estee Lauder, now it's all about reformulating using much cheaper ingredients; many long time customers have abandoned the brand as they have noticed the difference in quality, and know there are better quality products out there offering much better value.

White flowers definitely take the lead - I smell a lot of sweet but soft jasmine. There is a hint of camphor & spice in the background. While it is a lovely gentle floral with some exotic elements in the camphor I'm getting no tea to speak of. Smells like floral bitters to put in a mixed drink. Perhaps the spice is actually a bit of tea leaf? Sadly, both of the Jo Malone Rare Teas that I've tested haven't really been heavy on the tea. I suppose they're more 'inspired by', but I was hoping for a truer scent to the name, although I should've realized that tea isn't even listed as a note. Ah well!

pretty green floral without being too heady. light and airy like most jm scents. the "tea" part really tones the floral down. doesnt smell like darjeeling tea at all, or any tea regardless. just nice and green w slightly herbal from artemisia to round it all out. I would not recomend buying for limited edition price, but if you can grab this second hand at a good price its worth. Nothing unique and i wouldnt go out of my way for it
